Former Abia state governor, Orji Uzor Kalu has declared interest in investing in Arsenal FC, stating that he will buy a staggering 35 percent stake at the Premier League club.

The current senator representing Abia North in the Nigerian National Assembly made this known in a post on his official Facebook page.

Juliet Kadungure, sister of late Zimbabwean businessman and socialite, Genius Ginimbi Kadungure has revealed that he left an instruction on how he wants to be buried.

A yet-to-be identified young lady has been found dead inside a drainage at AOdikpi village, along Osumenyi/Akwuihedi road, Osumenyi in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra.

The deceased, whose identity is yet to be ascertained, was found with her hands and legs tied with rope and her mouth gagged. There are also marks of violence on her neck.

Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Haruna Mohammed, who confirmed the incident on Wedneday, November 11, said efforts are being made to apprehend the perpetrators.

“On the 10/11/2020 at about 12pm, there was a report by a good Samaritan from Osumenyi in Nnewi South LGA that a girl whose name and address is yet to be ascertained, aged about 22years was seen lying lifeless inside a gutter along Osumenyi/Akwuihedi road Osumenyi with mark of violence on her neck, mouth was sealed with tape while her legs and hands were tied with rope," he said.

Inspector-General of Police, Muhammad Adamu, on Tuesday said the Force would need N24.8bn to fuel its fleet of vehicles and motorcycles in a year

He said this when he presented the 2020 budget performance and and defended the 2021 budget proposal before the House of Representatives Committee on Police.

Adamu said the police was being bogged down by the low envelope budgetary provisions.

“The implication is that under an ideal situation, the amount that has been reviewed cannot meet up with the requirement of policing the country.

“If you take for example, the daily fuel consumption for our vehicles; vehicles that have petrol engine take about N22.5bn to fuel it within the year.

“The motorcycles we have will require N834.4m to fuel. And those vehicles using diesel will require N4bn to fuel.

Rapper Mo3 was shot and killed in a Wednesday midday shooting on a Dallas highway.

The 28-year-old rapper, real name was Melvin Noble, was killed in the brazen attack at approximately 12 p.m. on the city's northbound Interstate 35, according to the Dallas Police Department.

Police tell USA TODAY that the shooting suspect, described as an adult Black male, exited his stopped dark sedan armed with a firearm and approached Mo3, who exited his stationary car and began running southbound on the highway.

The suspect chased Mo3, firing multiple shots and striking him. The rapper was transported to an area hospital where he died from his injuries, according to the police report

The suspect also struck an innocent bystander, an adult male, who was sitting in a separate car. The second victim was also transported to an area hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.

As the trial of former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, continued on Tuesday, November 10, an investigation officer of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Adariko Michael, told the court that investigations have shown that N2.2 billion was allegedly spent on prayers in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia to win the war against Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria.

Adariko was giving evidence as the first prosecution witness (PW1) in the trial of Sambo Dasuki, in the alleged two billion dollars arms deal fraud. Others charged with Dasuki, a retired colonel, are a former General Manager with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Aminu Baba-kusa, Acacia Holdings Limited and Reliance Referral Hospital Limited.

The EFCC charged them with 32 counts bordering on misappropriation, criminal breach of trust, dishonest release, and receiving various sums of money.

Led in evidence by the EFCC counsel, Rotimi Jacobs, Adariko told the court that N750 million was allegedly transferred from a special account linked to Dasuki’s office to Reliance Referral Hospital Limited’s account with First Bank.

He added that N650 million was also transferred to Acacia Holding Limited’s account with EcoBank, while another N600 million and N200 million were transferred to the company’s account with UBA.

Oyo State College of Education in Lanlate has been shut down indefinitely following a crisis between the Students Union of the institution and the management led by the Provost, Dr Jospeh Adeagbo. 

The Students Union’s President, Olaitan Muhammad, in an interview with our correspondent on the telephone confirmed that the college had been shut down by the Governing Council.

The students had embarked on protests over the alleged failure of the college to produce identity cards for students despite collecting money from them.

It was also alleged that students were attacked by dangerous animals during lectures because of the bushes surrounding the institution. 

The management claimed in the statement that staff unions sponsored the students to cause crises.

The statement read; 

“The college management wishes to assure that it charges one of the lowest school fees in the country, in consonance with the directive of the Governor Seyi Makinde-led administration and payment of all fees is made into the Treasury Single Account (TSA) of the Oyo State Government.

A boy and girl, both 15, allegedly plotted the murder of a woman in Brooklyn, New York after explicit pictures of the girl were made public, New York police revealed on Tuesday, November 10.

The two teens have been charged with murder and manslaughter. The girl was also charged with weapon possession while her alleged accomplice was charged with unlawful transfer of a weapon.

The pair allegedly killed 20-year-old Nyla Bond on Nov. 2 inside the victim’s father’s apartment building on Macombs Road near Inwood Ave. in Mount Eden.

Police said the girl had a previous intimate relationship with the victim and became enraged when photos of her got out. Blaming Bond, she and her accomplice conspired to kill her, police said.

Obianuju Catherine Udeh professionally known as DJ Switch, has revealed that soldiers, who shot at peaceful #ENDSARS protesters at Lekki Toll Gate, Lagos, on October 20, 2020, revealed that they were sent to the protest ground on orders from above.

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has warned Nigerians partaking in End SARS agitation to prevent it from degenerating into an insurgency.

Governor Babagana Zulum who spoke with State House correspondents after a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Friday November 6, stated that the Boko Haram crisis in the North Eastern part of the country started with protests by youths against the use of motorcycle helmets in the state capital in Maiduguri.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it will resume the continuous voter registration in the first quarter of next year.

The commission’s chairman, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, disclosed this on Wednesday in an interview with journalists after he appeared before the Senate Committee on INEC to defend his agency’s 2021 budget.

He said the voter registration would last up to six months before the 2023 general elections.

“The Commission intend to resume voter registration in the first quarter of 2021.

“And once we resume, it will be continuous for one and half years, at least until six months to the next general election.

“In other words, the Commission is not going to resume voter registration for a week, two weeks or a month but we are working out the details,” Yakubu said.

A female protester who joined thousands of other Nigerian youths to protest against police brutality but died in fatal accident has been buried amid tears.

The lady, identified as Miss Lucy Oghenegueke Adu, shared a video on her WhatsApp status dancing with her friend at the protest ground in Lekki Toll gate few hours before her death.

It was gathered that Lucy had an accident on her way home from the protest ground on Tuesday, October 20th, 2020. She alongside two of her friends unfortunately lost their lives in the accident.

There was a misconstrued information on social media that she died during the Lekki shooting on the same day, but was later clarified.

Ajax have been hit by an outbreak of COVID-19 ahead of their Champions League clash with FC Midtjylland on Tuesday.

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) on Monday disclosed that it has withheld the results of 215, 149 candidates who wrote the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in Nigeria.

WAEC said the results of the candidates representing 13.98% of the total number of candidates who wrote the examination are being withheld in connection with various reported cases of examination malpractice.

Patrick Areghan, head of WAEC Nigeria, broke the news at a briefing in Lagos on Monday morning while announcing the official release of this year’s WASSCE results.

Mr Azeez Sani, NECO Head Information and Public Relations, disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Monday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that NECO Governing Board had after its Special Meeting on Oct. 21 reviewed the postponement of some papers in the 2020 SSCE examinations, due to the EndSARS protest nationwide.
