I silently follow this thread from time to time and it's very distasteful how you display your typical "bush" mentality for all to see.
Every state won't be the same, as they all serve a different purpose. Imo State caters to hospitality, that's what it is known for and that's what attracts people from outside to spend their money. On the weekends, Owerri is filled with people from outside Imo State.

Just like Nevada is to the United States; most of the state makes its money from tourism/hospitality (Las Vegas, Reno, etc). Not every state can be New York. States like West Virginia or Wyoming serve their purpose by contributing to mining, Texas has oil, Nevada has tourism, much of the Midwest is farming. ALL of which contribute to the country as a whole.

Nigeria is a COUNTRY, and within Nigeria there are states. ALL STATES are supposed to contribute to Nigeria as a whole. Not every state can have everything as they are not countries. Lagos (the economic center), middle belt (agriculture), Niger Delta (oil), Abia (manufacturing), Anambra (trading and manufacturing), Imo (hospitality), etc etc

Enough of the comparisons displaying your lack of exposure, it's rather embarrassing.

The Nigerian Universities Commission has a record of the state with the largest number of professors on their records and as at 2010 that state is Imo State followed by Ondo State and then Anambra State; the next state is Ekiti and then Delta before Kwara State. I am sure you Yorubas are surprised. When you sit in the South-West do not think others are sleeping but I wish to address another historical fact and that is who were the first Nigerians to receive Western education. It is important that these issues be examined in their historical context and evidence through research be presented for all to examine.

I have continued my research for as the great sociologist and father of modern sociology – Emile Durkheim – put it, the definition of a situation is real in its consequence . What this simply means is that one must never allow a perceived falsehood to become one’s reality and by extension individuals who accept a defined position act as though the situation is real and apply themselves in that narrowly defined perspective.

Why is this important to state it is because for long the Yoruba have peddled lies that have almost become accepted as the truth by other Nigerians but it is important that we lay down the facts for others to examine and come to their own conclusion for facts are facts. Let’s go back to education. Historically, Western education resulted as a product of indigenous ethnic groups interacting with the whites through trade. The dominant groups sold slaves, ivory gold and a host of other products to their European counterparts in exchange for finished goods – wine, tobacco, mirrors, etc.

And who told you that it was not the court that concluded the matter before demolition set in? Or you think government just woke up one morning and decide to demolish a house? These things were properly handled by the court before the execution of justice.

Obiano recently commissioned more judges to that effect for speedy dispensation of justice. Criminals must be made to understand that crime does not pay. So good citizens like myself support outright demolition to the ground of any house traced to a kidnapper. There must not be a trace of those homes used for harboring victims of kidnap because it is a sad memory and past. And it is working because in the past one year there is hardly any case of kidnapping or arm robbery in Anambra. We are good for it..

I support the government's moves. If anybody is linked to criminality let their house be demolished. There is an element of truth in every story. Obiano commissioned more judges to dedicate more days in a week to adjudicate on criminal matters so that there will be speedy dispensation of justice..

^^^^^^^^^^^ in as much as I support the proactive approach taken by the present administration to combating crime especially KIDNAPPERS, I am still not comfortable with this demolition approach to fighting kidnapping. Government should rather take possession of the property. What if tomorrow Government discovers the accused to be innocent or probably framed into this how do we start compensation.

Remember the Upper Class Hotel incidence under former Gov. Peter Obi, till now no competent Court has found the accused guilty of the crime, the said man is currently a free man after been released on Bail by SARS Awkuzu.

My take let justice prevail avoid jungle justice for as much as we want it otherwise.

Nwanne m yea I got the same treatment at Agulu Resort last xmas. The security agents said that it was because of the whitemen working at the site. I even went to Greenwood where they are building Three Arms Zone, it was the same restriction. maybe they want to unveil these projects as a surprise package. Even Orient I heard has 24/7 security patrol, everybody is treated as a threat because of the experience they had with the Kogi people.

Bro I'm not working with Anambra state government, I'm not permit to take pictures on government projects, last time I went to refinery site and Agulu lake hotel the security men there warned me, but that of Agulu hotel I'm sure the project is 96% ready exterior I saw the project last week on my way to PH.
