Breastfeed:They've also picked up on flat edges round the phone. |
That price would go higher than that when it comes to Nigeria. I'm guessing they'll round it up to 150k or do something different at 175k. However, if it stays at around 150k, it could help sales a bit more. There are better options on the market for that money still, but the margin would be more tolerable than what Tecno did. |
Mustiboy: They're hoping you'd find difficulties getting other brands at $500 in Nigeria |
A well-balanced take. Pricing would be a huge determinant for sure, but I'm positive it wouldn't too far off Tecno Phantom X's price. Say about 200k. Would immediately make it a non-starter of course. |
Well, your phone is nearing 4 years with no sequel in sight. It runs Android 9 on a Helio P22 chipset and I'm guessing you're using a recent Chrome version (90+) The problem is not far fetched. Your Infinix S5 is behind the times, and telling you it's time to move on. Alternatively, you can try to be more conscious about your RAM use. Open one app at a time, clear out the RAM often etc. |
Angelfrost:You legit called today's performance "luck" ?I don't know about you, but Traore's lack of finishing +De Gea's impossible saves + Varane's defending + Greenwood's finishing + Everything Fernandes and Pogba did = Good basis for our three points. It's the EPL bro, we play each game as it comes, no guarantee for ANYBODY! |
Great result today. The boys put in the works and it's 3 points on the road! For those asking for Ole's head, I think it's irrational really. For all the goofs Fred made at the game, great team effort ensured it never backfired. When I saw De Gea make TWO impossible saves, I knew this team still had it in them really. Great win. Great debut for Varane. Not so much for Sancho but we're getting there. Wolves turned up the heat, but we soaked it up like any great team was supposed to do. |
rottennaija:This had me laughing. What you effectively said is "Android OS is dying. Eventually, a branded fork of Android will take its place..." See how that sounds? ![]() When I read the post on Calyx OS, and watched Mrwhosetheboss's take on it, all I kept getting was "Same game, different player". Android being open-source isn't going anywhere. Anyone wanting to control the market is at the mercy of the Big G. |
A 1TB iPhone 13 doesn't seem likely at this point. |
I honestly don't understand why there's so much fuss about the Phantom X. A device like this typically has a knock-on effect which ultimately benefits YOU the consumer: 1. Fine, it's 230k. Outrageous. However, give it a few months, that price comes down quickly. If you're patient (and you should be), you can get it for much less. 2. If you still won't buy at a discount, the Phantom X - for Tecno - is a watershed device. Soon, you'll start seeing elements from the device in cheaper models. Maybe they'll bring 1080p permanently to the Camon series, maybe they'll bring USB-C across board, a second mic. Anything. Something that'd make users happy along the line. 3. People on phone section have given Helio G95 on the phone a lot of stick, and while the criticism is justified for the price point, it doesn't translate in the real world. People like the feeling of power, even when it's just face value. Apple sells the A14 bionic chip as the most powerful chip in a smartphone, but ensures you don't get to use it like you want. Imagine my surprise when I found that you could do more with SD888 than A14. Power in a smartphone is less about the name of the chipset than what the manufacturer allows you to do with it. Google and Samsung use this to their advantage so well, that you quickly forget their flaws. Pixels recycled their 12.3MP main camera for years. Samsung only recently stopped using trash hardware for their A series. Yet, overall experience for people is positive. So, Tecno Phantom X might not be the best midrange out there right now, but I think Tecno are up to something here. |
Kenebrity143:You're welcome! |
What's in the WhatsAppResource folder? |
Nomedia files don't turn up in search, so you cannot use the search box in the file manager. You'd manually have to find it. |
So, here's the path: File manager: WhatsApp>>Media>>WhatsApp Images. Once there, check for the .nomedia file |
Open your WhatsApp media folder, and look for a .nomedia (remember the dot) file. If you can't find it, enable the "show hidden files" in the folder settings. If it's there delete it. Your WhatsApp images should begin to show correctly afterwards. |
Bitter? No Problem! Take the apostles, for example: because they were desiring the will of God, hungry to see the works of God, and welcoming the Messiah, their lives were upturned; it was an invitation to troubles. So, wisdom, knowledge, understanding may make a person strong and cause his face to shine, but at the same time, with much knowledge comes grief. More is expected of the one who is given more. So, when you have hunger (which is absolutely needed, and it will result in satisfaction), you can also be sure, however, that with such hunger will come bitter things. If you want food, you cannot clear the table of all the bitter aspects of the meal the Lord will serve you. His Passover does not just have the lamb and bread, it has bitter herbs right with it! So, when the Lord satisfies our hunger for freedom [by delivering us from Egypt], on the way to the Promised Land, there’ll be a wilderness. When the Lord responds to our desire to hear His words, our desire for a prophet of the Lord, rebukes will also come. But to the hungry, all these things will be sweet. So, child of God, ask yourself, Are you hungry? Because if you are hungry, you should welcome bitter things. This should help us test our hearts. Honestly; for many of us that say we are hungry to see God’s glory, hungry to see God’s Will, desirous to know the will of the Father — how do you respond when bitter things come? Are they sweet to you? Or do they offend you, and you push away or get angry? That reveals your true level of hunger. And if you realize that bitter things drive you off — not untrue things, but bitter things — then you must do something about your state of hunger! How to Get Hungry! A few suggestions to help you get properly hungry: – Fast from all the alternative sources of satisfaction you’ve been taking. If you’re full of junk food, you will not be hungry for good food. But if you’re really hungry and you haven’t eaten for ages, when you come across vegetables or some meal you dislike, you will munch it with relish! You’d gulp down unsweetened yogurt! If you’ve been starving for three days, everything will be acceptable. So, a major way to get yourself hungry is to stop feeding yourself with trash and things that are not good for you — cut away from spiritual things that are not in line with the Word of God. Many people literally need to stop listening to messages from most of the preachers they listen to, because that alone has stopped them from hearing the true words of God (which can be bitter). So, this is for those who are wondering, how can I get hungry? Fast. Not literally, necessarily. But, from all your sources of satisfaction — hanging out endlessly with friends, hanging out on TV, YouTube, reading novels, and all the things that satisfy you — in some form, cut away from them, and watch your hunger increase. That’s exactly how real fasting works. When you cut away from such things, you will begin to develop an appetite for the unseen realm — for the things that you had hitherto despised. Your hunger is fanned (and will keep increasing) when you’re left with no alternatives. Then, and only then, can the Lord begin to feed you with His choices. I can assure you that a good part of it will be bitter; for as high as the heavens are above the earth, so are His ways above our ways, and His thoughts above our thoughts [Isaiah 55:9]. And as you push away the other things, you’ll find yourself welcoming all these bitter and unpleasant looking things (which you previously wouldn’t have touched with a nine-foot pole). This is how I know everybody else came to a place of loving and embracing God and His ways. I can assure you; narrow is the way that leads to life, and very few find it [Matthew 7:14]. Why? Because very few are hungry. It will be a lonely path, many times. But the question is, isn’t it better to hunger and thirst after righteousness, so God will fill you? |
Do What’s Right! He also says, in Matthew 6:25, “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink.” This is righteousness; it is the right thing to do — to not worry about food and clothing. He says more and more about that. In Matthew 7:1, He says, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged.” It’s a form of righteousness — everything He says is the right thing to do. He says, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened to you,” (Matthew 7:7) and that’s the right thing to do. For now, I’ll stop there, but the emphasis is giving to the needy — acts of righteousness (which you are not to trumpet), praying, fasting and not storing up treasures on earth. Why? Because it’s impossible to serve God and mammon. “They Will Be Filled…” This passage gives us a method for testing the hungry. If you see someone who seeks righteousness, “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they will be filled,” as the Lord Jesus said in Matthew 5. He didn’t say, “They’ll be filled with all sorts of good and wonderful things!” Because certainly, for anyone that has sought the Lord and His righteousness/the Kingdom and it’s righteousness/God’s will/godliness in any way, you’re going to get bitter things, but even the bitter things will taste sweet to you, because you are hungry! Now, they are not hungry for bitter things. They may be hungry for the words of the Lord, like Jeremiah, Ezekiel and many of the prophets the Lord has had, but as they eat it and it goes into them, it may become bitter in their bellies. Because they desire to hear what the Lord says, when the Lord speaks to them, what they are given may not be sweet at all. It may be most unpleasant, sometimes. All who will live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution (2 Timothy 3:12), and persecution is bitter. |
Heavenly Treasures As an example, He expects you to give to the needy. In Matthew 6:5, He says that when you pray, you should not be like the hypocrites. So, one of the ways we practice righteousness is through prayer. Matthew 6:16 talks about fasting, which is also the practice of righteousness. In verse 19, He says, “Do not store up for yourself treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Then, in case you didn’t get the point, He goes on to tell you, “No one can serve two masters – either you hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and mammon.” So, refusing to store up treasures on earth is the practice of righteousness. How do you store up treasures in heaven? The Scriptures are clear; it’s found in Luke 12:31-34. He says, “But seek His kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well. Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the Kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor provide purses for yourselves that will not wear out, a treasure in heaven that will never fail, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” The statement, “Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also…” in Luke 12:34 is the same concept in Matthew 6:21, so it is directly linked. Matthew and then Luke put together the picture of how you store up for yourself treasures in heaven; by giving to the poor and the needy. That’s what He said in Matthew 6:2. This is practicing righteousness; this is righteous living! This is what God has called us to do — to give and share what we have with those that are in need. |
Righteousness Defined So, back to the Lord Jesus: what is righteousness? The Lord Jesus tells us, “So when you give to the needy, don’t announce it with trumpets.” (Matthew 6:2) Thus, giving to the needy is righteousness. In the previous chapter, Matthew 5, He speaks very clearly about loving those who don’t love us, acting differently from the rest of the world, being perfect as our Father in heaven is perfect, and doing good to those who don’t do good to us (considering how God shows kindness to the righteous and the unrighteous). Therefore, when He tells you that you should do what is righteous, He is not referring to a condition you have been bequeathed by His blood; He’s talking about your actions that arise out of that gift of righteousness. It is called practicing righteousness. He that practices righteousness is righteous (1 John 3:7). But before that, John said, “Do not let anyone deceive you, little children,” because there will be deceivers who will say (as is often said today) that you only need to believe on what the Lord Jesus has done. No! He expects you to practice righteousness. |
One who is full loathes honey from the comb, but to the hungry, even what is bitter tastes sweet. (Proverbs 27:7) The Lord’s Righteousness “The Lord did not hesitate to bring the disaster on us, for the Lord our God is righteous in everything he does; yet, we have not obeyed him…” (Daniel 9:14) This declaration of the righteousness of God comes right after the statement about God bringing disaster. What disaster? “Just as it is written in the law of Moses, all this disaster has come on us, yet we have not sought the favor of the Lord our God by turning from our sins, and giving attention to your truth.” (Daniel 9:13) If we do not want to have the wrong side of the blade of justice swinging our way, and want instead to experience the sweet side of God’s righteousness (as opposed to His painful side), then we must seek His favour by turning from our sins and giving attention to His truth. He doesn’t talk about turning away from sin (and leaving a vacuum); you must pay attention to His truth, because God is righteous when He judges. It is righteous for God to judge. Practicing Righteousness If we look at Matthew 6:1, Jesus says: “Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of others to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven.” Your righteousness is to be practiced. The Lord Jesus then goes on to explain what this righteousness is. As I’ve often said, righteousness means to do what is right as defined by God. So, God defined that when you go against His law, there will be consequences. It is righteous for God to judge evil. Abraham asked of the Lord, “Will the judge of the whole earth not do that which is right?” (Genesis 18:25) And of course, the answer is that He will. In that instance, what was at stake? The cities of Sodom and Gomorrah were about to come under judgment, and what is right was that they be judged. And it was also right that they might be shown mercy if a certain number of people who deserved mercy existed within it. They could have attracted mercy for everyone else. |
The fact that none of it was on CNN tells you that something is fishy. Again, you might be wondering, “How do you know it was real?” It's real because the evidence was there clearly. You can watch it yourself that she was so sick that a doctor followed her around, and they would hold her hand and carry something like a syringe to inject her. She had serious health issues. All of these things were happening and somehow they never entered the news. Forget about whether she's the better person or the wrong person, I'm just saying that it's obvious that the media was for her and was against Trump. Trump said nasty and stupid things from 2005; they uprooted everything he ever did in his life and replayed it until your ears hurt. I am telling you all these so that you can know the power of words. Words are powerful, they shape your mind and thoughts. You cannot say that you can't be influenced by words. Words influence you. Everybody is influenced by words. Anything you keep listening to will influence you. If you hear a lie a thousand times, you will believe it, and if you (afterwards) hear the truth three or five times, you won't believe it. You can hear something that is radically different from what you're used to or what you used to know, and if you don't keep hearing it many times, you can default back to what you used to know. You may even see the evidence of the new knowledge and be wowed, but because you did not stick around long enough and you kept hearing the normal things you've always known, you are unable to hold on to the truth that you heard. It is very hard to let go of whatever you keep hearing even when it's obvious that it's wrong. It's very hard to break out of it. It is said that it takes an average of a certain number of times to hear something before your mind even has a chance of changing. It is not enough to hear something once in a while; you have to hear it much more often before you can change your mind about it. Strife works like that. You keep hearing something negative about someone; you hear it once, you hear it twice, you hear it five times, if you hear it enough times, you're going to believe it. You'll believe it even if it's a lie. On the internet there are these gory pictures of meat, stories about Chinese fake food, saying that human beings were made into meat, all of that. I think the pictures are said to be from a Chinese horror film, yet people spread it on social media as though it's something real. The other day, someone sent me a story of how Churchill's father, who was the Prime Minister of Britain during the Second World War, had helped a young boy who went on later to invent penicillin. The story is flying around, but it's not true, it's a lie. I used to have issues when I was on my secondary school class WhatsApp forum. Someone would post something and I'd look at it, and it takes me about a minute to check 1 or 2 websites that would verify or debunk the post. The websites would tell me when the story started flying around, even where it was formulated. I'd check and crosscheck, and then I'd send it [my findings on the post] back to the group and say “This story is not true, here's the link,” and some people would say things like “Why you dey defend them?” [Why are you defending them?]. That is, they would rather believe a lie! They just like to say something; and they have no desire to know if it's true or not. It's like, 'Let's just keep talking [and we don't care whether what we're saying is the truth]. |
In Nigeria, the government just does their thing — like owning a TV or radio station —and the people don't even pretend; they don't bother pretending that they do not know what's up. I remember years ago, the former governor of a particular state made sure that people could not just go to the state owned TV or Radio station to say whatever they wanted. If then, you were against the Governor, you would have to own your own TV station where you could say whatever you liked against him. You could not say it on the state television station. The government owned it, and it was the government's media output. You would have to make plans to use some other station if you're running against him in an election, because that particular station would only broadcast things that were in support of that government. So, if you keep watching TV, you'd think that everything you see on it is real. CNN in the United States is known as 'Clinton News Network' by many people. When Obama ran for president the first time, his opponent (John McCain) had a born again, Bible-believing Christian, Sarah Palin, who spoke in tongues, as his running mate (Vice presidential candidate); but you would not even know her or hear about her in the news. They barely said anything about her. I remember watching CNN during the American election period in 2016 [when Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton were the presidential candidates], and over and over again, the media kept playing the negative things about Trump. I've never seen such a biased media. It didn't matter the country: Britain, South Africa, etc., all they had on him was negative, negative, negative. Some people won't even know this because they are in Nigeria, except they had reasons to know. Till tomorrow, Trump and the mainstream media in America are totally against each other. He calls them 'fake news media'. Most of the news that people watch is not on TV [though Nigerians watch TV]. Most people get their news from the internet. Most Americans put on their computers and watch the news on the Web. There were things that would not go out in mainstream media; like a video of Hilary Clinton slumping and being carried away like she was dead. She went for a rally and was so lost, they carried her away. I watched it. Those kind of things will not be put on TV? And why? The Secret Service officers all around her tried to shield her and block the cameras; but someone was trying to capture it with his phone. They carried her like away and it wasn't even mentioned on TV. No one even talked about it. If Trump did 1 over 100 of what was going on with her, it would be everywhere. Now, I'm not going into a talk on who was better between Trump and Hillary. All I'm saying is that a biased media is bad. Why do you think that Nigerians and everyone else seemed to be anti-Trump? Why are you anti-Trump? You think you know why? It's because that's all you've been told to do — dislike him. You have been shaped according to what you have seen. If you have seen some of the things I saw and known the things I knew before that election, you wouldn't think the way you did at all. Fortunately, here and there, I have people that I listen to who are Christian sources. They would say things that would make you wonder how what they're saying is not on the news and why those things are not being broadcasted every few minutes. Hilary Clinton had something in her ear during the Pre-election Debate and she was being told the answers to give; completely against every law. She had a meeting with the Attorney-General of the nation in a vehicle just before a debate; all sorts of totally illegal things. Her people caused violence in Trump's rallies; they were paid to do so and there are recordings where they discussed how they were paid to cause violence in Trump's rallies. They did a whole lot. |
*…Provide yourselves purses that do not wear out, a treasure in heaven that never decreases, where no thief approaches, and no moth destroy.* About selling your possessions, it means that you can have what you have, but be so lightly attached to property that you’re willing to meet needs that are present before you. That’s all. If you carry that mindset, you will have peace. It doesn't mean that you walk out and sell everything that you have. But if you’re together with others, and there is a need that you can meet, you meet it. An example is Barnabas — there was need for food, and he had a land. So he sold his land, took the money, and gave it, because there was a need. He wasn’t attached to it. Things matter less than people. People matter and will always matter more. This concept is very easy, just know that people matter. Always think of the people. Do not acquire and own things while people around you are hungry. Why do you have golden earrings that cost a hundred thousand Naira (N100,000) when there’s hunger around you? You should have sold it a long long time ago. If you have never heard of such a thing, it means you have been following blind guides, leaders who can never tell you such a thing because they are covetous. The Bible shows that when Jesus talked about this matter, the Pharisees scoffed at Him, for they were covetous; they loved money. When He talked about mammon, they mocked and scoffed at Him (Luke 16:14). They could not imagine anyone doing what He was saying. The rich young ruler came to Him and He looked at him, and said, “Go and sell everything you have, because I can see that you are Kingdom material.” But the young ruler walked away because at that time, He could not give his riches up, not at that time. I hope he did later. |
HE WALKED AWAY There will be such gross darkness on the earth like you cannot believe. I believe that there will come a time when demons will appear in churches and say, "You have been serving me all these days, so I’m declaring who I am to you. All that money you were having, who did you think it all came from? Bow to me!’’ There will be all sorts of weird things, and I’m only partially joking. But I’m so serious when I say that the spirit realm will manifest so much in the physical world. John the Apostle said, "The reason the world doesn’t know us is because it doesn’t know Him.’’ (1 John 3:1). Don’t you think he used to perform signs, wonders, miracles, and other amazing stuff? Don’t you think he had trances, revelations, and visions? Still, they didn’t know him. He said, "The world does not know us. That’s not strange, because we look like our Master so much." The day the Lord Jesus was arrested, the soldiers couldn’t tell the difference between Him and his disciples, so, Judas had to kiss Him to identify Him. His identification was necessary because Jesus looked like them – He didn’t wear garments that showed that He was the big man, like the Pharisees, who had wide edged ribbons on the edge of their garments, did. The more distinguished they thought they were, the flashier their garments were. Have you noticed that ordinary people don’t dress like money-driven preachers? *I once went to a boutique to buy a suit, and I saw a very shiny blue one. When I saw it, I wondered who would wear such a suit. Casually, the man at the boutique said, “That's not a problem, a preacher will buy it.” I realized that every strange kind of dressing there was for preachers to wear. He didn’t say it with malice, he just made me know. I had felt the cloth would never be worn by anyone since it had strange colors. It had very non-somber colors.* It's wrong for those kinds of shiny clothes to be a preacher’s official dressing. Those clothes cannot be worn to the office. Preachers are the ones who wear them. Then I realized, it’s true. When you see preachers, they look like singers. Why, as a preacher, should you look different from the people you're leading? What are you doing? The Pharisees used to look like that. You can’t tell me that you’re not trying to be different. If not, why don’t you look like everyone else? Why are you striving so hard to be different? Study the Pharisees, and you’ll see they loved money (Luke 16:14). The Pharisees were very proud, they loved money, honoured their traditions more than the word of God, and they hated anything that was different and did not conform to their style (Matthew 15:1-14, Matthew 23). They had issues, and they would do anything. They did what was politically relevant at the time, and they would tell the truth subjectively. So they asked Jesus “Where did you get your authority from?” and the Lord replied them, “If you’re asking me where I got mine from, where did John get his from?” (Matthew 21:23-27). They consulted, discussed among themselves, and prepared a 'robust' answer to give Him. Their answer showed that they are on the side of what is convenient, not on the side of the truth, and they would come out with an answer like, “We don’t know.” They weighed the truth that they wanted to present, and they didn’t fear God. See the verses people hate: Luke 12:31-33 Verse 31 says Instead, pursue His kingdom and these things will be given to you as well. Which things? Food, drink and clothing. 32 and 33 says, Do not be afraid little flock for your Father is well pleased to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give to the poor… Now, you might be surprised that Jesus said “sell your possessions and give to the poor,” probably because you have never heard a message on this, where someone took the time to preach it. Jesus caused a lot of trouble. |

WHY DO BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE? (6) Time and practice would have taught her things [knowledge of good and evil], but she tried to get it instantly the same way Satan still offers people things at once. He tempts them, telling them, “You can get this immediately”. Immediately receiving all the things that we want is not God’s will. It is not how God operates. Every sin, I have so often pointed out, is not really a sin of wanting what you shouldn't have. It's a sin of wanting it out of time. Time is the challenge! Sex? Wait till you get married, then you can have sex. Money? Wait till you've worked hard, then you can have money. It’s an endless list. You might get yours eventually, but some people will say, “No! How do you know? Some people can't have it. Some people will never marry. Some people will never have money.” But hold on. Just a minute. Within what time frame are we discussing this? What time frame are we looking at to arrive at the summation? We keep surmising too many things. The world does not end in this age. There will be another age and another following after that. And the Bible talks about how there is a 'Jubilee' and I believe that all creation will have a Jubilee when creation will go back to what it was meant to be; because that's what jubilees are about. Leviticus 25:10, 13, 39-41, 54 – And you shall consecrate the fiftieth year, and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you, when each of you shall return to his property and each of you shall return to his clan… "In this year of jubilee each of you shall return to his property. "If your brother becomes poor beside you and sells himself to you, you shall not make him serve as a slave: he shall be with you as a hired servant and as a sojourner. He shall serve with you until the year of the jubilee. Then he shall go out from you, he and his children with him, and go back to his own clan and return to the possession of his fathers. And if he is not redeemed by these means, then he and his children with him shall be released in the year of jubilee. Who told you that everyone would not have the opportunity to have sex and sleep with someone and be married within the safe custody of a marriage relationship? Who told us? Doesn’t the Bible say that He created them male and female at the beginning? Genesis 1:27 - So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Matthew 19:4 - He answered, "Have you not read that He who created them from the beginning made them male and female… Who said there won't be a male and female for everyone? But as it is written, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined the things that God has prepared for those who love him." But God has revealed those things to us by His Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the deep things of God. - 1 Corinthians 2:9-10 There are many plans that God has. No one has the right to say that it won't happen because you cannot say that you extracted that thought from scripture. You just have never thought of it. The goodness of God is vast. When we understand the big picture, we will look back and not be offended anymore. But even now, if we are wise, we won't be offended. We will just trust God that He is good and all He does is good and He understands these things. Now does this mean that our futures are written in stone? Can your actions never affect what will happen to you in the future? No, you can affect it by your obedience to God. Fatalism is not of God. God is a God that says, “I know the plans that I have for you; plans for good and not of evil, to give you a hope and a future.” (Jeremiah 29:11). There's nothing fatalistic about that. |
WHY DO BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE? — (5) There is a dawning coming on the earth; all pain and sorrow will be removed, justice and fairness will be established. The calling of the Lord Jesus, especially as laid out in the book of Isaiah, is to establish justice and fairness in the earth. Isaiah 42:1-4 – Behold, my servant, whom I uphold; my chosen, in whom my soul delights: I have put my Spirit on him; he will bring forth justice to the Gentiles. (2) He will not cry, nor lift up his voice, nor cause it to be heard in the street. (3) A bruised reed he will not break, and a dimly burning wick will he not quench: he will bring forth justice in truth. (4) He will not fail nor be discouraged, until he have set justice in the earth; and the isles shall wait for his law. (See also Isaiah 9:7, 16:5, 33:5, 51:5, 61:8 among others). The inhabitants of the world will be glad and delighted. They will look back and will not remember the pain. They will scoff at the things that once seemed dreadful; just the same way a student in SSS3 would scoff at the way he had felt when he was in JSS1. You will look back and long for those days in some way because now you can see well. This is the reality of the place we are, the time we are in, and the season upon us. Now, if you don't understand that there will be a restoration of all things, if you don't understand ultimate reconciliation, you can send a message privately. Act 3:21 - ...whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God spoke long ago by the mouth of his holy prophets. Because you do not understand, so you say, “Why such a futile, purposeless and even sadistic effort? Why would God make people, have them suffer through this world and go through needless pain, and then hand many of them right back to eternal burning, where they will burn forever? Why would you create people only to torture them forever?” But that is not true. The idea of burning people forever is a misconception that we have looked through the Bible and proven with nearly hundreds of verses. The error gives birth to the lie. And if we know that it's not true, then how can we be asking these kinds of questions? Whatever pain we go through, when the morning comes, like a mother giving birth, we will forget the pains of labour. That's one of the most obvious illustrations for all of humanity: a woman giving birth. She's in such terrible pain that she cannot believe. It is so horrible that she feels she’ll die. Some women even pass out, But children give their parents the greatest joy. Childbirth is God's living and constant reminder of the fall (Genesis 3:16 – He said to the woman, "I will increase your pain and your labour when you give birth to children.¬), and the fact that all of us, humanity, we're going to give birth to new life through pain. The pain that we undergo is to allow us appreciate even greater the blessings that come thereafter, and to teach us that good things don't come easily. Eve tried to partake, with Adam, in the acquisition of the knowledge of good and evil easily (Genesis 3:1-6). She should have kept walking with God and as she grew from babyhood to maturity, she would have learned about the Lord Himself. According to Hebrews 5, she would have learned to discern between good and evil through 'reason of use', exercise, practice. Hebrews 5:14 - But solid food is for the mature, whose perceptions are trained by practice to discern both good and evil. |
Snitch24:Interesting. I'd like to send you a PM, if you don't mind. The idea of hell is truly different from what people think it is actually according to the scriptures. |
sonmvayina:we're still on the same page as far as analogies are concerned. However, while I agree that there are a lot of perspective on the matter, it's still best to stick with the one that is closest to the truth. Some people might view the bad situation as a stepping stone for a better scenario, while some others would break down, trying to figure out why it happened. All these doesn't change the fact that what happened stemmed from something... which someone else did or didn't do, same as almost everything else in life. |
