Nigeria is more better than Ghana in Everything's.

1, First We are better than them in Football because We are the only Nation in Africa who has won most trophic in Africa than any other Africa countries and even in Fifa Ranking. We are started fourth position in Fifa Ranking in 1994 not even Cameroon has gone that far and a lot of tropic.Women has won almost everything's.Under 17 has Won almost everything including World cup.Under 20 Has won almost everything's. go to www.fifa.com and find out yourself Not even Cameroon has won what Nigeria has won. We are the Highest in Football in Africa.

2, We have the Highest Population in Africa and the Highest Immigrant in the World. Most of them are professional mostly in football and the rest name it.

3, We are hard working peoples and We are name the Happiest peoples on Planet earth not even American or European countries.that Mean there most be Jealously in that.

4,Nigeria is more Beautiful than Ghana in most Aspect in Women and Men,In Beautification in both Countries.

5,Nigerians is well know more than Ghana in the world. We are bless and we make use of it very much. If I am lying consider yourself. The Best Scientist in Internet came from Nigeria. The Question you need to ask Why Nigeria? Because We are bless.Nigeria is the number 1 Christian Country in the World check it in Google.

6,Nigerians came to Ghana to make too much money they are Jealous because they cant Afford to buy what a Nigeria can buy.they are angry because you made the money in their country and they are suffering.Nigeria has most of their big companies here and mostly Bank and club.

7,They are Jealous because they fear of Nigerian to beat them in any Aspect in life. You name It.

So Guys What do you think? Why wont they be Angry I don't want to mention Ghana must go bag ooo. Because that one is even worse to Name. We have Oil more than then. The Oil which was discover in Ghana is not working as plan. problem.

Nigeria pass Ghana for everything even for beautification of both Countries Nigeria pass them. The only things Ghana take pass us.Ghana is the only country who has never fought war and they hold a peaceful nation in Africa for that. I give Credit to them for that.

I have Ghanaian friends both male and female, In your back they will say a lot bad thing and in your front Nigeria I love you so much. But I don't hate them because I love my life because I am making the money there. They even believe in one things. Nigeria films. They believe what happen in the films it really happen in Nigeria most eating human being and blood money and ritualism.

Politics › Nine Slums To Be Upgraded In Lagos by OneNaija(op): 2:24am On Apr 26, 2009
Lagos Metropolitan Development and Governance Project has identified nine slum communities in the state to be upgraded under its World Bank-assisted programme.

LMDGP was established by the government in November 2007 to increase sustainable access to urban services through investment in infrastructure.

The selected communities, according to the Project Director, Mr. Kehinde Akinola, are Agege, Ajegunle, Amukoko, Badia, Iwaya, Makoko, Ilaje-Bariga, Ijeshatedo and Itire.

Akinola told the News Agency of Nigeria on Monday that investment on the communities would be carried out in phases.

He added that it would be funded from the $200m World Bank development take-off grant for the state.

The project director said that government took the initiative to make the communities attractive and habitable in line with its mega-city project.

Akinola lamented the deplorable state of the selected communities, adding that people should not continue to live in squalor.

He said that the high influx of people into the state had impacted on the few amenities in those areas.

“These slum communities are home to over 1.1 million people who lack access to roads, potable water supply, public sanitation facilities and health centres.

“In line with its mega-city project, the government cannot allow people to continue to live in squalor where they lack access to socio-economic empowerment,‘‘ he said.

Akinola said the LMDGP would be involved in the upgrading of the slums, with the provision of all the necessary facilities, including schools.

He urged residents of the affected areas to cooperate with the government in its ongoing development programmes across the state. (NAN)
Politics › Fashola Visits Lagos Slum, Promises Aid by OneNaija(op): 1:57am On Apr 26, 2009
Governor Babatunde Fashola has promised to relocate residents of Better Life Community, a slum in Makoko area of Yaba, Lagos.

Residents of the slum community have agreed to be resettled in another area of the state.

The governor, who visited the area yesterday to inspect facilities, was surprised that people lived in such an environment.

He expressed displeasure at the condition of the people and said the slum environment was not a place for human beings to reside.

“Slums are not places for people to live, especially those who have children because of the diseases and sicknesses caused by stagnant water and mosquito bites,” he stated.

The governor said there was a need to discuss with the residents on the need to relocate them to a place with modern facilities because their consent was need.

“I have to seek your consent on this because resettling people elsewhere in the past had proved difficult,” he told the community representatives, who have lived in the area for years.

The community has agreed to vacate the area for a new place, though the government is yet to reveal the new location to them.

It is expected that after the residents have been relocated, the state government would redevelop the slum into a modern residential area.

Also, the authorities of the Army Central Ordinance department, Yaba, has approved the demolition of its perimeter fence by the state government to allow for the construction of a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) lane along the Murtala Muhammed way.

Fashola said he had discussed with the Army authorities and the state government had been given the go ahead to demolish the fence for the construction of the BRT lane.

The governor also inspected City Hall on Lagos Island, which is being reconstructed by Arab Contractor. He urged the contractor to make use of quality materials to construct the place.

Politics › Nigerians In The Diaspora Making The Return Journey Back Home. by OneNaija(op): 8:31pm On Apr 24, 2009
THERE has been an increase in the number of Nigerians in the Diaspora making the return journey back home. This phenomenon known as reverse migration may have started at the beginning of the new millennium with the re-introduction of civilian democracy after long years of military dictatorship, a period that witnessed mass exodus of Nigerians who went abroad in droves in search of better life.

advertisement
One could argue that the various socio-economic reforms of the Obasanjo government provided some kind of incentive and renewed hope in the Nigerian nation amongst many Nigerians in the Diaspora. The renewed calls for Nigerians abroad to come back home and contribute to nation building and the increasing alienation and frustration experienced by many Nigerians living abroad may have contributed to the first wave of returnees. The second and current wave of returnees may have been persuaded by other factors, most importantly the current global economic downturn which kicked in sometime in 2007 resulting in job losses, repossession of homes and other assets in the developed economies where majority of the Nigerian Diasporan professionals reside.

Nigerians living in the Diaspora still contemplating the return journey back home are best advised to familiarise themselves with some of the challenges they may face when they return, so that they can at least be better prepared. The first hurdle to cross is the 'mindset hurdle'. How does one start being a Nigerian again after long years of living in near-perfect and enabling socio-economic systems? How does one begin to deal with the issue of living two lives; that of a 'Nigerian' and that of a 'returnee Nigerian', with each life having its own demands and expectations. Can one easily get on in life in a system without any social safety net? How does one overcome the various infrastructural challenges including housing, energy, transportation etc?

There is also the big issue of getting a job or starting up a business. It is on the job angle that many returnees may question their original decision to come back home. The sudden realisation that not a lot may have changed since they left the shores, and that there are still not enough jobs to go round becomes a bitter reminder of the many lost opportunities to nationhood by successive governments. With mounting bills including mortgage repayments, credit card bills, college loans and other expenses waiting to be taken care of in the countries they are returning back from, it is not surprising if frustration sets in if after a short period, especially if there is no major breakthrough in business or career in the new Nigeria that is expected to absolve all the millions of Nigerians currently living abroad. The matter is not helped by the fact that the oil and gas, and banking sectors which showed a willingness to absorb the returnees have now shut their doors to Diaspora recruitment as an after - effect of the global financial crises. Perhaps the telecommunications and other sectors may still present potential alternatives.

Perhaps the most challenging issue yet, one which yours truly suffer the most is that of living apart from one's family. According to Ade Oduyoye of jetpages.com, "Quite a number of friends have now had to maintain their father and husband roles remotely". This is worrying. The situation is such that before embarking on the return journey back home, the returnee, usually the man or husband elects to keep his family behind in the safe and stable environment while he undertakes the journey by himself to initially test the waters, after which the whole family will be relocated.

Such initial plans of 3-6 months absence usually extends to a year or more as things are not usually as simple as they may seem. At this stage, emails, chatrooms, facebook and mobile phones come to the rescue but all these can hardly substitute the physical warmth of one's family. For some like me, you resort to following the progress and growth of your kids through weekly email photo updates. The other alternative is to commute regularly on your frequent flier package or your family does but this has major financial implications.

Charles Okoli, a manager with UBA in Lagos says that this is his biggest challenge yet since he moved back home 2 years ago leaving his wife and 3 kids back in the U.K. "The original plan was for them to join me a little later but that didn't happen for some reasons. I miss my wife and kids and sometimes wonder if it was the right decision to have relocated to Nigeria in the first place, not when you have a young family and can't watch your kids grow up".

There are mixed views from various Nigerians who have braved the odds and plunged into the unknown world of the journey back home. Onyinye Adigwe who returned home in 2009 after completing an MA in Music Business Management from the University of Westminster says that she doesn't regret her decision, "Though I'm yet to get a job, I still like the fact that Nigeria is a developing country. I can put a lot of my ideas and talents to good use while waiting for a proper white collar job. So many businesses have run their course abroad and such ideas are yet to be trialled here, we have enough population and resources to carry them out in Nigeria".

Arthur Ekwensi, Senior Consultant at Woodhouse Consulting, a Brands, Events and People consultancy who came home in 2008 after several years of living in the U.K however cautions Nigerians living abroad to look carefully before they leap, "People have got to assess their personal circumstances before coming home. You can not hop on the flight to Nigeria because everybody is doing so. You have got to be clear in your mind which values you are coming home to add, the mere fact that you have lived or are living abroad is no longer an express route to a good job in Nigeria".

There is hope still for those who are considering making the move. Formal and informal support networks are gradually developing in churches and local communities to ensure a smooth return back to the fatherland by the returnees. This is also not taking away the importance of family networks in the process of re-settlement. For example, on any given Sunday at my local church - This Present House, The Dome located at the end of Admiralty Way, Lekki Lagos, you will find many Nigerian returnees, many of whom their accent give away easily. Those who have been back for some time now help new returnees to settle in by sharing experiences. There are also many church activities to engage them while they go through the motions of settling in once again. Pastor Toni Rapu and his team also have a good way of encouraging returnees by bringing to the notice of all emerging business and other opportunities.

There may not be an easy way to settling back in Nigeria as one can only gauge the warmth or coldness of the water by feeling the water. Although Ngozi Okafor, a 2009 returnee from the United States is planning a guide book to relocating back to Nigeria, but still that should not replace the benefits of practical and first hand experience.

Even if one has the benefit of securing a job before coming back, it still has to be said that the process of settling into a system one has left for many years does take a while. I am still not fully settled in after almost a year of relocating back but you can bet that I don't plan on going back again. This is my country, and as they say, East or West, home is the best. Nothing beats the satisfaction and joy of living and working in one's own country, and contributing your quota no matter small, using the skills and experiences you may have acquired abroad to making your country great again.

Politics › 3 Truckloads Of Soldiers Sighted In Ado Ekiti.yar’adua’s A Liar by OneNaija(op): 7:49pm On Apr 24, 2009
ADO EKITI — DESPITE President Umaru Yar’Adua’s assurances, three truckloads of soldiers were seen in Ado-Ekiti yesterday, ahead of the re-run governorship elections holding tomorrow.

advertisement
The soldiers were seen along Ajilosun Street and Irona in the Ekiti State capital, yesterday afternoon, but their destination was unknown, while their take-off point was equally shrouded in mystery.

The military men who arrived Ado Ekiti at about 4.25 pm were conveyed to the state with a lorry and two Hilux buses

The issue of deploying soldiers in the state to augment Police efforts at maintaining law and order during the election had remained a subject of heated controversy until the Presidency in a statement by Mr. Olusegun Adeniyi, Senior Special Assistant, Media and Communications to the President said will not be deployed in the state on account of the election.

Yesterday, the Action Congress (AC) commended President Yar’Adua for not ordering deployment of troops.

In a statement issued in Abuja by Alhaji Lai Mohammed, its National Publicity Secretary, the party viewed the president’s decision as “perhaps the single most overt act” taken by him in furtherance of his administration’s commitment to the rule of law, and called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to follow the president’s example by creating a level playing ground for all political parties participating in the election.

The statement added that the AC also expected the Nigeria Police to be “neutral, fair and professional” during the polls so as to justify the confidence reposed in it by the president.

“We do not intend to take the laws into our hands but barring a counter-order from the president, it will be a dangerous game for anyone to appear in military uniform at any polling station or election-related facility during the election re-run on Saturday.

“Equally unacceptable will be the presence of any policeman or woman who

is not under a proper command, since he or she will be treated as being on an illegal duty,’’ the statement noted.

We’ll win, PDP boasts

Rounding off its campaigns, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday boasted that it would record a landslide victory in tomorrow’s re-run election, even as the Acting governor of the state, Mr Tunji Odeyemi assured the people of the state of maximum security arrangement for the election

Speaking during the rounding-off of campaign at Ido Ekiti yesterday, National Chairman of the party, Prince Vincent Ogbulafor said it would be a clear victory for the party and its candidate, ENgr Segun Oni, during the re-run election

Ogbulafor said his party had accepted the verdict of the Appeal Court, because of its belief in the rule of law and its respect for the judiciary, saying the second coming of the leadership of the party to Ekiti before the election was not aimed at re-marketing Oni to the people of the state, saying his various works while in office have spoken for him

“Segun Oni is your son, he is destined to be governor. PDP is law abiding party and we believe in the rule of law, courts had ordered similar things in Kogi, Adamawa, Bayelsa and Cross -River and we won. I believe Ekiti would not be different”, he said.

On his part, Vice-President Goodluck Jonathan assured that there would be no outbreak of law and order in the state during the re-run election.

The re-run election would take place in 64 wards in 10 out of the 16 councils in the state. The appeal court has ruled against holding the election in Ilawe Ekiti ward 2

Acting Gov expresses shock

Reacting to the development, the acting governor, Mr Tunji Odeyemi, expressed shock over the deployment of soldiers in the state, saying it was an embarrassment to him and the people of the state.

Speaking on behalf of the acting governor, his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Rotimi Ajisola, said the acting governor called the Police Commissioner in the state, Mr Chris Ola when he heard of the development.

"Let me tell you, the acting governor was embarrassed. He had to call the CP when he heard about the deployment of soldiers.

"He was embarrassed because the presidency had said it would not deploy soldiers in the state and the people of the state have said they don’t want soldiers”, he added.
