agbotaen: 1. for you not to know bojiboji shows that you are not from delta state,and i have never said that agbor is more developed than Asaba , how can you compare a state capital with a local govt.headuarters , asaba is beautiful ,but apart from asaba which other town in delta north is bigger than agbor ?if you are from delta you will know the answer ,but the problem on this forum is that we have a lot of people who are not from delta trying to tell us deltans what our history should be and in fact many here are not ika people and they will tell us which name an ika person should bear.
2. agbor is a very big kingdom with two language 1.ika and ozara ,and agbor kingdom extends to ekuku agbor and agbor alindinma near aniocha and ukwani areas and agbor has many towns , so the part that most people know and call agbor is simply also known as bojiboji agbor or bojiboji owa , as both agbor and owa kingdom owns the area,and this area is also known as orogodo -because of the round river called orogodo.
so also owa kingdom is divided into many towns and villages both in delta state and edo state.

3. i have said it times without number that it is the british that helped found and solidify many or most nigerian tribes ,and ethnicity is a thing of conciousness ,not a language based issue,ethnicity is a shared reasoning and culture , oral history and tradition has a lot of role to play.igbo or yoruba or ika or bini or ijaw was not a tribe before the advent of europeans what we have were kingdoms and empires or city states or communities.so people decided which ethnicity they want to belong to , while others continued in the ethnicity that the british grouped them into , while others opted out and formed theirs.
the isoko where submerged under uhrobho and after a while they pulled out to assert their isoko race as a different ethnic group , irrespective of close similarities in language with uhrobo, calabari ,asserted seperateness from ijaw, ishan is a seperate ethnicity different from bini ,despite similarity in language such as lare and vare meaning almost same thing ,and even a shared culture.ika people have also gravitated between being bini and later being igbo and also taken a stand to assert our seperate ethnic nationality known as IKa.irrespective of a close similarity in language with igbo and also similarity with edo language .
hundreds of thousands of ika people both at home and abroad are keyed into ika ethnicity ,although we occassionaly have some ika people from the eastern axis of ika land ,especially from igbodo and ekwuoma who believe they are igbos, as for today the highest socio-political group in ika is the ogua/onu ika and they hold the ace in issues affecting our ika nation ,and they firmly believe we are ika ethnic group and they stand on the 1930 declaration in agbor -when our fathers said ika is a seperate ethnic group different and independent of any other in southern nigeria , and this they told the british-that was when benin declared they own ika.
the next was during the civil war when biafra declared they own ika area , our elders quickly mobilized to assit in sending biafra out of ika land and to reassert ika difference from igbo.
and so we have stood as our own people chatting our own cause and ika people have today made great in road into governance and business and other aspects in nigeria

Anyone of you that has ever been to any region in Ikaland, but never stepped foot in Asaba. Asaba is par with places like Enugu, Portharcourt, etc. The second most developed city in Delta state would be Warri, no doubt. Don't let a man's self-delusion give you a terrible image of delta and Asaba.

It is interesting to note that Asaba hosted the first ever conference of Igbo language and literature in 1907.
Asaba in 2004 hosted that years edition of Igbo day. The one this year is the second under the Ohanaeze.
Asaba also hosted the peace-making between Col Joe Achuzia and Joe Irukwu-the then Ohanaeze sec-gen and pres-gen.
One of the founding fathers of Ohanaeze Ndigbo is from Asaba-Chief Dennis Osadebe.
