I didn't recognize Tinubu as president.

These are people feeding fat on the rot of the society. Last election really exposed a lot about some folks. This country will never progress with folks like this given trumpet. The black race seems irredeemable.

I can only doff my hat for Nkechinyere Umeh. She must be a genius. If someone can endure sit at home and still come first in the federation then the child must be genius.

It's agony and hardship for everyday Nigerian in the last month. A thoughtless economic policies has spiked inflation to record high. Life has been unbearable for everyday folks.

This government is just annoying. You remove subsidies, the next thing is to go on an immediate anti-inflationary campaign.
You get ahead of industry and commerce to start fighting the fires before they ignite.

But you just sit there and do nothing while the fires are spreading from transport and banking into other service sectors.
By the time it hits manufacturing, construction other bricks and mortar sectors then it becomes a vicious cycle, a rolling snowball that will bring instability and perpetual devaluation since productivity remains low.

The CBN should have acted fast, the government should have called in and sat with key industry to negotiate a delay in price rises offering them whatever it can by way of incentives to keep prices stable for as long as possible. That is what RESPONSIBLE government does. Incentives are not just meant to attract foreign investment Oga Tinubu, incentives should also be made for the few that produce anything her in Nigeria.

The Telecos want to raise rates which means more cash in their hands to further attack the naira.... o boy.... we are in for it. Government should wake up immediately and start to hedge.

What is all the appeal about when the average Nigerian has accepted it has to go and it has gone.

What Nigerians are concerned about is the inflationary effects about which the government has said NOTHING in the week since gasoline prices increased more than 100%.

One would have expected that the government will have announced a series of inflationary taming measures ahead of markets of various economic designations so that the public is assured the fallout will be minimal but they continue to stand idly by while transport fares have galloped, closely following with certainty are food prices and in the next few weeks other soft commodity prices will surge.

By the time they wake up I hope the cost of durable goods will not have been impacted if not it will be over, Nigeria will be headed for serious economic problems. The time for them to act is now that price rises are limited to soft goods.

Nigerians should wake up to realise that subsidy removal alone is not the silver bullet that will kill the eternal vampire of economic woes. It is just the entrance, the door way to opportunity. The economy still has to be properly managed in a cerebral manner and with dexterity. And the battle against inflation is key as it is in all progressive economies of the world at the moment.

Nigeria should do likewise.

You are the only voice of reason. Inflation resulting from this reckless implementation of economic policy will consume this nation.

Corruption will kill us in this country. I wonder how an illegitimate president hopes to make an impact. Other African countries has left us behind.

Well, your guess is as good as mine. Despite media propaganda, there is no hope for the nation with those who rigged election and imposed themselves on Nigerians. All these reckless economic policies is the death knell that will finish this country.

With inflation at 50% ( forget official rate), we are truly on the road to Golgotha. Allowing the naira to float while removing subsidy is inviting a runaway inflation. This is ridiculous and some people are hailing this nonsense.

My problem with nairaland is that there are a few persons that have lived perpetually on the politics section for years, I just wish they would just follow Buhari to Daura and from there to Niger Republic so that this hitherto educative and entertaining site can breathe a new lease of life.

Even the owner of Nairaland is tired of them and hardly active on his site except when he tried to see if he could curtail the tribal and ethnic slurs on his platform.
