Please people of GOD can anyone recommend a good Pediatrician for circumcision here in Houston? Had my baby at Oakbend. Or should I simply wait till we get to Nigeria? Baby will be 6weeks then. I shudder at the thought of the pain but I'm worried about doing it twice as I've heard not so good reports about circumcision done here. My brother's baby and my friend's baby had to be redone back home in Nigeria after first attempt here in Houston and El Paso respectively were not done properly... Not the same hospitals though. Pls pls I appreciate your prompt response. |

Supernaturalone: THANK GOD that you and your baby are fine. As advised, tell them you are a self pay patient and that the bill is too high, ask for a reduction especially if you are looking to pay at once. I pray GOD'S Favour for you so that your bill is reduced to what you can afford as is your heart's desire IN JESUS NAME; AMEN I have a few questions cus I'm doing my research for Passport etc while waiting for baby's arrival, I've got limited time to return to Naija after EDD, so I'm trying to find out what can be done immediately baby arrives and or expedited. 1. How many days did it take to receive your baby's SSN, I've heard of ten days to 3 weeks (Pls do you know if this can be expedited?) 2. Was it at Fort Bend Passport Office that you got expedited Baby's passport in a day? I saw on their website... normal is 4-6weeks and expedited is 3 weeks... a friend just advised me to try Downtown Houston she did hers for 185usd and it took 3 days using dhl... but Fort Bend is closer to me, so I'll appreciate if you can share how you got the one day expedited Passport. 3. What bank card did you use on Amazon? So I used my Stanbic Card and for some reason got a message from Stanbic that the amount was higher than the limit. I thought the limit was 200usd... what I bought is 183usd. Moreso Amazon that gave me option to pay in Naira (was excited cos the rate was very good) just changed mouth the next day and I saw my order in USD... Thanks and GOD Bless you and your little one. 1 Like |

Thridbaby: My experience: DH and I filled B2 cus our primary purpose for travelling is Child birth. DH and I applied same time and were to be interviewed same time although I had to reschedule because my passport photo didn't upload and I was turned back. DH was given his Visa before me. DH used his distant uncle in another State as contact person and contact address NOT the hospital cus he's not the one birthing. Some people here have applied together and gotten their visas, some didn't get. Remember the most important things are: 1. You can show strong ties in Nigeria to prove that you will come back especially when applying and travelling together as a family. 2. You can show that you can afford to pay all your planned and unplanned (GOD forbid) bills and not touch their Medicaid. Please ensure your daughter's photo is uploaded on her Form. You might need to start another application to do this if you have already submitted the one without the picture, then have the New Form linked to her interview date on your profile. This must be done at MOST three days before her interview. (Check my posts in part 5 to see how I did mine) All the best. 5 Likes |

abanzi: Dear Viola , Option one is really really cool. Least stressful, safest and cheapest. I strongly believe the VO will be so impressed by your honesty and give you the Visa again without issues... I just remember now someone who went this route recently... don't recall her moniker but she shared it in part 5. VO appreciated her honesty. GOD'S Favour, wisdom and All the best as you decide IN JESUS NAME; AMEN. Nice one Abanzi. 2 Likes |

Well Last forever... laughter is good medicine for the soul so you are encouraged to laugh. However, laughing at another's opinion or suggestion where multiple suggestions were given (even if it was just one suggestion given self) is downright rude and childish. Its always best to look at all the possible options available for a process, that's the wisest thing to do when making decisions... It's common sense rule of life. There's a reason why people are over prepared for this journey even if they don't get to use all they prepared for. However that helps boost confidence and also reduces the risk of disappointment. So while you can keep laughing, please remember to be polite to other people's suggestions. Even if you've travelled many times you dont know it all. People have been rejected visa after first journey for this scenario she pointed out because the VO thinks they lied. People have been turned back with USD7k while others have been let in with USD3k same location and close enough budget, so its not a case of 3k here is worth more than 7k in the other location and others were not even asked about how much cash they have (like me). People have been allowed in with food stuff, indomie, Knott beef etc (like me), while others bags were searched and were seized. People have been asked by the VO to show proof that they can afford the trip by showing bank statements etc while others were not asked anything (like me)... in fact people have been asked to log into their bank accounts at PoE, the CBP Officer didn't want to see any statement but wanted to see the live balance. But I went very prepared... asked all the questions, did what I needed to just incase. Some were stressful some were not, but I was happy and confident I did them all, while praying and believing GOD for Favour. So please when someone comes to you without experience and asks a critical question asking for candid advice, please tell the person all the options no matter how silly or laughable you think it is... Better over prepared than sorry. 17 Likes |

Viola2017: I strongly doubt that, cus a VO has stated on this thread a few weeks ago that the letter is not added on your file, so CBP Officer at PoE doesn't even get to see it (hence its being deemed irrelevant) unless you mention it (Although still irrelevant if you mention it cus they like to assume one is lying). Moreso if you are going for a week, you will have your return ticket if it comes to you needing to prove that you are staying for just a week (especially if you are already showing) then CBP will determine how long to sign you in for, maybe a month, maybe six months self. You enjoy your short holiday, come back and then prepare to travel for your missionary journey. If all these are too stressful for you (which is what you dont need now) simply wait it out, be armed with your Pregnancy test result showing when you found out you are pregnant and also your EDD from first ultrasound at less than 9 weeks (which is most accurate, and that's if you did one, you can still do one now and keep the print out) which should back up your not being pregnant or not knowing you were pregnant until 6/7 weeks after you obtained your Visa (5 September to 3rd week October 2017) should you need to present it at PoE when going to birth your baby or to the VO when renewing if Dropbox doesn't work. And then start and keep praying. You'll be fine. I really hope I haven't confused you sha... I'm just giving you options I will take if I were in your shoes. 1 Like |

captain90210: From my own experience, because of how separated the US medical system is, I think it's best to get a Doctor's correspondence (Letter to whom it may concern preferably). This should ideally show that the Dr has agreed to birth your baby and can mention the hospital you have agreed to use. Also your email correspondence with the Dr discussing your delivery options and all that should ideally contain details of the hospital, fees etc. This is what I did even though I wasn't asked to present it at my interview. |

Viola2017: From what I've read on this thread... If You can afford it, pls use the Visa for what it was originally obtained for first. So go on holiday for a week or two now, check for hotels or extended stay apartments within budget if you can't go to your brother in law's place, you can even physically scout for hospitals if it's the same city you want to have your baby at. Then you can use it to travel again when you are ready to have your baby. This is to avoid plenty stories at PoE and also when trying to renew. Sounds expensive but since the Change of Intent letter has been confirmed irrelevant, spend the money if you can afford it to avoid stress at PoE or disappointments when renewing. Another option Is to relax, travel when ready to have your baby, send the irrelevant Change of intent letter, pray very hard for favour at PoE and when renewing in about two years. May GOD give you Wisdom and Grace. IN JESUS NAME; AMEN. 1 Like |

chinybelle: Here's hoping I understand your question: Address where you will be staying or Contact person and contact person's address? You can use a hotel close to the hospital as the address where you will stay. There's no obligation to have Accomodation booked & paid for at this point where you don't have a Visa. So you can use the Airbnb address if that's where you intend staying. Contact person can be your Dr and the Contact person's address can be the hospital you are going to use. 1 Like |

Omodadi2: Advise received from Chiroleck when I needed the emergency request too. "just log on to your dashboard and click on emergency appointment, choose medical and explain why you missed the first appointment, explain the available dates and tell them that will make you miss your doctors appointment, upload the following documents: info from hospital, doctor's info and doctor's confirmation of appointment. They'll respond the following day and tell you to choose a date. Goodluck". Change the narrative as it applies to your situation. For you it wont be about a missed appointment obviously. In my case I added more documents like my Hubby's visa page, and other things that explained my situation better. Got a response in less than 24hrs and got to pick a date. nnetayo: Sorry about the initial rejection dear but I think you should try again. Quick questions though: Does your budget match the exact amount that the Dr quoted as basic for high risk patient costs. I'm guessing (novice opinion) that the VO might be worried about anything going wrong (GOD forbid) and then your budget / savings not being able to cover it and that might now result in the possibility of using the almighty Medicaid. If your budget is an exact match for the basic I think you should adjust it. For instance if you were given a bill for Vaginal and CS even if you want Vaginal, let your budget reflect CS as that might show you are prepared for worst case scenario. Just put the higher amount if you were given a range for any of the costs. Also is it necessary for your letter to state that you are high risk? Just thinking out loud.... You cant change that now but I'm just thinking if it's important and if that doesn't cause a red flag Medicaid warning bell to go off in some of the VOs minds. Also the savings in you and Hubby's account did it grow to the 6m and 2m or were they lump sums paid in recently? I know a friend who was denied UK Visa cus they saw recent lump sum transfer and it was work related money o that went in an out and didn't affect the sufficiency of her balance self. Plus she schooled in the UK and has family there, they just denied her thw Visa. GOD'S Favour this time around IN JESUS NAME; AMEN. Don't give up. Try again alone as advised. If the dates you see are too close to your intended travel date then request for expedited interview date. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Omodadi2: It's well Sis. Sorry about the initial rejection and the loss of your phone. It will end in praise. I'm not an Expert but I think you should reschedule your Nanny's interview date. How soon can you get your new interview date? I also believe she's not qualified for a visa yet, so the sooner you can get your new interview date, then you can reschedule hers. Maybe you can even request for expedited interview date for your own appointment. GOD'S Favour IN JESUS NAME; AMEN 3 Likes |

So grateful to GOD for HIS faithfulness. Flew Emirates from Lagos to Dubai to Houston at 35 weeks plus. Gave them Fit to Fly from Dr. Didnt go to Port Health and I wasn't asked for Port Health Report. Requested for wheel chair from Lagos (Had been stressed over the past four days before my flight, needed to slow down) and it was the smartest move ever...no stress at all all through to Houston. Flight crew experience: Emirates crew Dubai to Houston were nicer than Lagos to Dubai. But the Lagos to Dubai guys weren't so bad sha... Food: Food was fair... I'm not much of a continental eater so I was just eating bread, croissant and water. The jollof rice from Lagos to Dubai: it is well, hunger did not allow us have choice The Dubai to Houston lunch was not for me. I just thank GOD for bread and butter Entertainment: Mixed feelings on this... expected to see recent movies from what I had been hearing, but was able to watch some. Houston PoE First General CBP: Where are you going to? Me: Sugarland CBP: Why? Me: To have my baby CBP to Wheel Chair Man: She has to go inside. CBP calls for colleague to take us to the Secondary Inspection Office. Spent one hour waiting for my turn. There were other people in the room before me. CBP: You are here to have your baby? Me: Yes CBP: Staying in a hotel, with family or friends? Me: Hotel CBP: (Types on keyboard) Ensure to have all your receipts when next you are coming. Stamps me for six months. Me: Okay, Thanks Baggage Claim Officer (BCO) That's what I chose to call him: Any food? Me: Yes, Chinchin, peanut burger nuts like this (had half a pack in my hand that I had been eating in the CBP's office), Crayfish (BCO then interrupts) BCO: Any meat and vegetables? Me: No BCO: Okay. Was wheeled to the exit and then I took a taxi to my hotel. Thankful my Indomie made it through cus that's what saved the day for dinner. My hotel has no restaurant. Dear Mommas, please use the wheel chair and wear compression socks too for the flight, drink lots of water, pee as often as required and walk the plane aisles at least once every three hours. Movement was so easy with the wheel chair, I almost felt sinful! By the way, I eventually got through to Hope Women's Clinic, was told that the phone lines were down for a few days and that's why it kept going to voice mail. All I can say is THANK YOU LORD. It's been HIM all through. 20 Likes |

I'm looking at going at 35+1 do you think flight of 16:30hrs Dubai to Houston will be too stressful for me? And do you think the 15hrs Houston to Dubai will be too stressful for me and my baby coming back whether or not I have someone to help out on the flight? You mentioned you were lodged... I assume it was Emirates that lodged you right? Did you have to do / pay anything extra to get the accomodation? Just trying to picture the trip using your experience. Thanks a lot. |

Please I need your help with making a quick decision. Recent Mamas, Please between Emirates or BA Which has better care / treatment/ considerations for pregnant women or women with children? I know one stop BA flight to Houston is shorter than one stop Emirates to Houston, however I feel a shorter trip can still feel long if the treatment is poor or if one is uncomfortable. And a longer trip can seem short if one is comfortable. Please flight class on both flights is Economy. Please I appreciate your urgent response. Thank you. |

Chirolechick: Hello Chirolechick, Thank you so much for your help. Visa was approved and has been collected. I applied for the emergency request/ expedited interview date as advised, selected medical emergency option. Explained my reasons for the emergency request. Attached copy of my hubby's visa, dr's letter and correspondence and some other work related doc to prove why I needed to have the interview that week, as I was going out of town also as the available interview date was way past when I could travel per most airlines policies and my already scheduled Dr's appointment. I got a response in less than 24 hrs that my request had been approved. Chose my preferred interview date. Didn't need to pay another visa fee. Interview day: VO: Where in the US are you going to? Me: Houston Texas VO: Why? Me: To have my baby ( I applied for medical Visa) VO: Is this your first baby? Me: Yes VO: What's your budget? Me: USD xxxx VO: Where do you work Me: Just started at XYZ Company, formerly at ABC Company ( Had to state this Cus I changed the name of employer on my new form as my employer when I was initially scheduled for my interview had changed) VO: what did you do at ABC Company? Me: I blah blah blah VO: Is your new role in XYZ Company similar to ABC? Me: Explained the correlation (Although I doubt that's very important) VO: Is your hubby going with you and Does your Hubby have a Visa? Me: Yes to both questions VO: Family and Friends Me: No VO: So staying at a hotel Me: Yes VO: When do you intend travelling? Me: Blah blah VO: How long do you intend staying Me: X months Cus I only have X no of months approved as time off work. VO: Okay, Your Visa has been approved. Me: Thank you. Hubby helped pick up cus I had to head back out. In all I say THANK GOD, it went very well. No document was requested although I had them all in a folder with me. Thank you urblackpearl for the info on updating my profile. Thank you Chirolechic. Thank you everyone who responded to my questions and chipped in. Now it's ticket things... Still searching the thread for info... but thought to put it out here... Cus wakanow of 2015 or Airfrance or BA of 2015 and now might not be same experience... So please do I go with Wakanow or buy ticket by myself? Airfrance or BA? What are they like with pregnant women and women with infants? Flight with one stop for 4hrs or two stops first for 8hrs then 3hrs? Two stops is obviously cheaper but without accommodation? Traveling by myself, worried it will be stressful. Airfrance two stops has Delta Airline in between, any issues envisaged with using another airline to connect. Interview was in Lagos. 7 Likes |

Chirolechick: Okay dear, just to be extra sure with my planning this time... If I want to do the interview on say Thursday, is Monday too early or too late to submit the emergency request? Hubby and I checked for a trend this week and noticed that when you click the emergency request option it shows you the next day as interview date. Or should I just send the request today (do they respond over the weekend)? Thank you so much for your response. |
