EzeUche:We really don't need to have an accord with these people, we need to conquer them. And we can do it if we understand their thinking. I believe we are already getting there, which is why some of them (like becomrich) are planning to secede. Na dat time dem go hear am! |
babapupa:It is not delusion. It is happening as we speak and there's absolutely nothing you can do about it. |
babapupa:Let me help you figure Igbo thinking here a little. A famous writer -Mark Twain -said, "Buy lands, for they ain't making more of it". When we are done with your land, we then turn to ours. ![]() |
I can't believe these folks are taking this literally. Shakes head. ![]() |
^^ Apparently a so called educated man can't understand the use of hyperbole in simple expressions. . |
sjeezy8:Believe me, I don't live in any part of western Nigeria (can't stay more than one day in Lagos). I own properties ONLY IN THE EAST. My brothers and other relatives own properties in Lagos, much like Sir Louis Odumegwu Ojukwu (Ikemba's father) owned half of Lagos. I can't stop any Igbo from buying properties in Yoruba land. I would fight in the defense of their properties though if need be. |
sjeezy8:As long as I bought the land fair and square, as long as I am a Nigerian living inside the territories of the federal republic of nigeria, I don't give a damn with what the custom is. If you cross near my property, I will defend it with the last drop of my Okoro blood, and if I have to bring more Okoros from Onitsha, Nnewi and Aba to fight, I would do so. So get that into your two timing skull. ![]() |
The day they will see pepper is the day any of them talk about secession. ![]() I say CHECK MATE! ![]() |
Justcash:Thank you my friend! That is their WORST FEAR and it is already happening. ![]() |
sjeezy8:So why didn't the west simply back out of the independence constitution or negotiate for separation then? It was very doable then and the British wouldn't have done anything about it. That Yoruba don't leave outside Yoruba land is a BIG MYTH. You need to visit the East first. |
As far as I know, Yoruba have always wanted one Nigeria. The question is: why not have ONE Nigeria. Why the " I keep my things, but I share yours" mentality? Why not we all share all things together? |
sjeezy8:Did you say Zik "forced" Yoruba to stay in Nigeria? When? |
I've come to understand them very well. ![]() |
^^^ And of course I (onlytruth) ! ![]() |
I think that understanding Awoism and the Yoruba political thought is the key to Igbo survival in Nigeria. I can almost trace all Igbo problems in Nigeria to this misunderstanding of Yorubas. Only few Igbo like Arthur Nzeribe actually understand these people. ![]() |
I wish we acquire the courage in Nigeria to say the truth. In 2010, we have people thinking like Awolowo of the 50s and 60s, and still believe in one indivisible country. It's like doing a 100 meters dash backwards. Pure insanity. |
I really love this type of conversation because my brothers like Mikeansy keep trying to paint this fake picture of Nigeria. This is THE REAL TRUTH about Nigeria. |
So, as far as you are happy in the cesspit (since most of you are pigs anyway ), all others must be happy with the set up or die. I have said it before and will continue to say it: peoples of different socio-cultural values have no business being in one country. Awolowo was a TYPICAL Yoruba man and there is no hard feelings about that. So, why did he propose starvation as a weapon of war against seceding Biafrans? I thought he should be happy to see the East leave? ![]() No! He wants Nigeria that would be ruled by the Yoruba. That is why Nigeria will never know peace. Awolowo sowed an EVIL SEED that destroyed Nigeria permanently. ![]() |
Mention Biafra now, these same idiots will start sh**ting their pants! ![]() I'll ask you people again: What do you two faced people want from Nigeria? ![]() As far as I know, Awolowo destroyed the prospect of a united Nigeria through his personal actions and the evil seeds he sowed. Why am I even lamenting this? Because the same idiots (led by the same treacherous devil) fought again to keep Nigeria one, the same country they permanently destroyed. Amazing! It seems these people enjoy pain. If only my Igbo brothers will see this and take appropriate actions. Each time some of them talk, I cringe. |
TewMuch:It was not in the 60s. I'm talking about the incidence of the early 1950s when Nigeria was still trying to create a national character, when we could have emerged a beautifully united country at independence. Awo killed all that, such that when independence came, it was a damaged good - a product of chicanery and deceit. Yes, Nigeria could have emerged a completely different country. |
And I blame Awolowo because, before the carpet crossing incident, the Yoruba was even leading in cosmopolitanism in Nigeria, which is why Zik chose to contest there. How could Zik contest in a backward north? Doesn't make sense to me. From the carpet crossing incident, the drift apart between the Igbo and Yoruba began. Some of the evil seeds sowed then are now being manifested in the mindsets of the Katsumotos of this forum. |
Dede1:Bros Dede1, you better believe what you read from that two faced character. I don't know what he knows about the USA, but he fails to see that President Obama was born in Hawaii but contested for US Senate and presidency from Illinois; Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is from Texas, but represented New York in Senate. I can go on. The formative era of the Nigerian nation namely the 50s was a time the US was emerging a truly egalitarian society, and Zik being a product of the US education system wanted the best for Nigeria. He wanted a Nigeria where Nigerians can contest elections in areas of domicile. In the US, it takes one year to establish domicile. If there is any Nigerian that truly was ahead of his peers (at least in the ideals of forming a federal system of government) it was Zik. None other. I hope you see why I keep saying that Awolowo destroyed southern Nigerian unity for ever. With the likes of Katsumoto who wants to eat their cakes and have it, forming a nation between Yoruba and Igbo is almost an impossibility. Which is why we have an arrested development. |
Kobojunkie:This topic is really exposing the level of intelligence of the average Nigerian. People are here yapping on about creating job opportunities, fixing infrastructure, creating national identity. Do these folks realize how long we've been trying to do those? ![]() Do these folks realize the type of money Nigeria loses (through theft of crude and open theft of public funds) monthly and yearly? They are in Billions of dollars $B! And the thefts will likely continue whether they do this or not. ![]() Do they realize the economics behind this? How many small businesses will be empowered by this? A spending population is far better for the sustainability of the economy than one where a few spend and cart the rest overseas. I look at is this way: we have been trying for ever to achieve 24hrs of electricity supply, why are we trying that, since Nigeria is hopeless? Why not throw up hands in the air and give up on that and all other things we are aspiring to achieve in Nigeria? ![]() This is a worthy goal. It is worth having around. All we need do is pursue it. And if any government comes around, they would have less free money lying around the government coffers. The strategy is to engage ALL money we have in such a way that would force accountability. When the unemployed and elderly don't get their allocation, they would know that there is a thief lurking somewhere in Aso rock. If you call a million man march for change, the real STAKEHOLDERS (unemployed Nigerians) will show up and be ready to die. Nigerians, sometimes I don't get you guys! ![]() Thank you kobo (I'd say this for once) |
SEFAGO:Hey boy, I cannot be your history teacher, so scram! |
sjeezy8:I hope you did not assume that your moronic brother was getting away with his idiotic rants. I merely ignored him just like I promised I would each time he exhibits his typical duplicity. ![]() He is wondering why Zik would want to contest elections outside Igboland and specifically in western Nigeria, but he would deny carpet crossing with every fiber of his being! ![]() Wasn't there a time an Hausa man was the Mayor of Enugu? Isn't this the whole point of my grouse with Awolowos evil seeds which created mindsets like that of Katsumoto? So, it is a crime to contest elections outside of ones region. And Sefago was wanting me to prove the Yoruba only vote Yoruba candidates. I don't know what you people are smoking! Had it being that a Nigerian can contest and win elections in all parts of Nigeria, would we be in the mess we are today? So what are you people complaining about when Igbos want to secede from Nigeria? When I came to this forum newly, my argument was that peoples of different values and understanding should not form a nation together. When I say that, you call for my head! What do you people want in Nigeria? Oh I know! You want to have Nigeria on your own warped terms. No chance! It's either we are ONE country or we divide. Simple. |
Back to topic: If they accomplish this, then I believe that Nigeria is actually changing for the better. Nigeria loses about $25 billion yearly from oil bunkering. How can anyone with common sense not see that Nigeria can afford to do this? That Nigeria MUST do this? |
SEFAGO:Like they steal with the NYSC scheme right? I guess. ![]() |
SEFAGO:You see why I said you refuse to use your head. lol! You can believe what you want. Incorrigible dude. |
SEFAGO:You don't get it, do you? Has it ever occurred to you that we may actually gain more by not having one of our own inside Aso rock? What can all the other regions producing the president show for their years in office? If we can get a winning candidate to do things for us, what are we looking for in Aso rock? |
Kobojunkie:One of those rare moments when Kobojunkie and I reach an understanding. ![]() |
SEFAGO:Actually, I'm hoping Ndigbo don't field a presidential candidate at all next year. That would give us room for maneuvering in the national scheme of things, especially if Jonathan is running. It appears my people have started using their brains to do real strategic thinking in Nigerian politics. |
