You are not. Abia needs every help it can get. There is no need getting worked up. You cannot begin to compare Abia to any SE state in terms of roads/development. Let us shun this and face reality. Abia needs a technocrat and not a politician.

I just wish you could face reality. Abia state should not be politicized. The state should get it right if not it gonna be more terrible. Abia state is lagging behind other SE states. That is the point.

You lied. I am from Delta and before the Asaba mall came, I used to visit Onitsha mall. Driving through Onitsha one of the pleasurable rides any one would have. The roads are wide. Ask anyone who have been on that road.

Stop quoting me if you lack understanding. I must say it again, Abia state is the least in the SE. Anambra, Enugu, Imo and even Ebonyi of yesterday has better roads than Abia state. I couldn't even tell my experience last time I passed through Aba to Uyo. Virtually all the roads we passed in Abia are bad. It is something you need to be sincere to than fighting over it.

yes, you can also go Enugu on a smooth road from anambra, cursed state

Listen young man. Anambra, Enugu and Imo states are doing very well, even Ebonyi is equally doing great. But there is something about Abia state. I am not telling you this to run your state down but I am being sincere here. Abia state in all estimations is the least developed in the SE. You better start facing this reality.

I am not fighting with you but I am just being sincere. Check my past posts, I have spent most of my time in the SE. Abia appears to be the least. Each time I step into Abia state I usually know it. Ok what about just last Oct we were going to Uyo en route Abia, it was a gory sight passing through Abia state. I think Abia has a fundamental problem.

I have a friend that served in Abia state. I must be sincere to you, Abia state is the least developed in the SE. You can't even begin to compare it to Anambra, is it in roads or what, because there is no even roads in Abia. My one kobo!

You people are something else. If I must say, Abia state has always been like this, so no biggy. I wish Abia state catch up with the rest of the states in the SE.

The more alarming aspect is strange statues in every corner of the state. I strongly believe that the governor belongs to an occult group undecided. Literature / Is Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie The Most Influential Woman In Africa Right Now?- CNN by onomefm(f): 2:25pm On Oct 23, 2016
(CNN)Nigerian novelist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was named as the new face of Boots No7 beauty range, Tuesday, further securing her position as one of the most influential African women in the world.

The move is more than a meaningless celebrity endorsement. Adichie's love of makeup is no secret: "I love make-up and its wonderful possibilities for temporary transformation. "And I also love my face after I wash it all off," she said in a statement published in British Vogue.

"There is something exquisitely enjoyable about seeing yourself with a self-made new look.
"And for me that look is deeply personal. It isn't about what is in fashion or what the rules are supposed to be."

Adichie has not hidden her issues with the beauty industry. Like many women of color in the spotlight, she has previously admitted to carrying her own foundation with her at all times, in case the makeup artist does not have her shade.
She has also spoken about the false promises peddled to women to world over. "I think much of beauty advertising relies on a false premise -- that women need to be treated in an infantile way, given a 'fantasy' to aspire to..." she said in an interview with British Vogue.
"Real women are already inspired by other real women, so perhaps beauty advertising needs to get on board."
The public seem to think Boots got it right with Adichie, choosing someone that is both relatable and influential.

Politics / Okorocha To Oyegun & Lai Mohammed – Caution Osita Okechukwu, The VON DG Now by onomefm(f): 6:12pm On Oct 19, 2016
The Imo State Governor, Rochas Okorocha, has pleaded with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, and the Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed to call to order the Director General of Voice of Nigeria, VON, Mr Osita Okechukwu, who he accused of making comments capable of running down his government.

Stating that Okechukwu presents himself in the Southeast as the spokesperson of the party in the zone, the Governor accused the former of abusing him when he featured on a television programme without saying anything to promote the APC at any level.

Okorocha spoke in a statement made available to newsmen in Owerri, the Imo State capital, by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Sam Onwuemedor, saying “It pains that a man who has not made any tangible contribution to the growth of APC even in his Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State will be insulting a man who staked his life and even his second term bid for the sake of APC”.

The statement reads in part, “The Imo State government has deemed it increasingly necessary to appeal to the National Chairman of All Progressive Congress, APC, Chief John Oyegun and the Honourable Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed to call the Director-General of Voice of Nigeria (VON) Osita Okechukwu to order, over his repeated and unprovoked media attacks on the governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha.

“The latest of such unwarranted and unprovoked attacks on the Imo governor was Tuesday night when Mr. Okechukwu was obviously aided to appear on AIT only to abuse the Imo governor and throughout the programme he said nothing to promote the APC as a party or the APC government at any level.”

Politics / Imo State: "We Are Starving" – Pensioners Tell Okorocha Over 70month Arrears by onomefm(f): 5:35pm On Oct 12, 2016
Retired civil servants in Imo State operating on the platform of Retired Permanent Secretaries have accused Governor Rochas Okorocha of subjecting the members of the body to starvation.

The group said the refusal of the state government to pay pensioners their 70-month arrears had made them to undergo dehumanising situations.

The Chairman of the group, Hyacinth Onyekwere, said that contrary to the claim by the government, only 70 per cent of one month arrear had been paid to the state’s pensioners.

Onyekwere, who addressed a news conference in Owerri, on Tuesday, said the inability of the government to pay Imo pensioners their arrears had resulted in starvation and sickness.

He said the pensioners could no longer afford to buy drugs for their ailments.

“Most pensioners are now subjected to untold hardship. Many of us are now unable to meet our statutory obligations such as the renewal of our vehicle licences. We cannot afford to pay for the social amenities we enjoy. We are starving. We are traumatised on a daily basis. We are dehumanised daily,” he said.

He said that the non-payment of pensions had drastically reduced the circulation of money into the economy of the state, adding that that this had compounded the problems of poverty, starvation and unemployment in the state.

“All we are saying is for the Imo State Government to pay our pensions as and when due to save our lives and those of our dependants. The payment of pensions is, by law, the responsibility of the offices of the Head of Service and the Accountant General of the state. But in Imo State, the case is different. This is why many pensioners were neither listed on the payroll accurately nor paid,” the retiree lamented.

Politics / Delta State Government Allegedly Increases Tuition Fees For Daycare Schools by onomefm(f): 7:22am On Sep 27, 2016
The Delta State Ministry of Women Affairs has allegedly increased tuition fees for Government Day Care Schools across the state due to the increase in prices of commodities, Daily Post can exclusively report.

Our Correspondent who was at the Government Day Care in Warri gathered that the increment which will take effect from second term is based on the directive in a circular by the Ministry of Finance and made available to Heads of Government Day Care schools.

Proprietress of Government Day Care School in Warri, Mrs. Majemi refused to disclose her name, even as she declined comments on the matter when DAILY POST arrived at her office.

Mrs. Majemi, however, said she was not aware of the directive, directing our Correspondent to speak with her boss, Mrs. Julie Ereyefoju,
a Director in the Ministry of Women Affairs for comments on the matter.

The increment which will take effect from next term will have parents pay seven thousand five hundred naira (N7,000) as tuition fee as against the current five thousand naira(N5,000) in addition to a separate payment for uniforms, t- shirts, sports wears and books which will cost about twenty thousand naira (N20,000) as against the current fourteen thousand naira being paid.

The Director of Ministry of Women Affairs, Mrs. Julie Ereyefoju could not be reached for comments as she was not reachable on phone.

Already, parents are calling on the Delta State Government to maintain the existing tuition due to the harsh economic effects it will bring on them.
Politics / Court Freezes Imo State Accounts by onomefm(f): 7:15am On Sep 27, 2016
The Court of Appeal sitting in Owerri, has ordered the freezing of all the accounts of Imo State Government and the confiscation of all monies domiciled in them. The appellate court equally ordered that the confiscated monies should be used to offset the sum of N1 billion owed E. F. Network Nigeria Limited and Mr. Gideon Egbuchulam.

Justice It’s G. Mbaba handed down the orders while delivering judgment in an appeal filed by the Governor of Imo State, the Attorney General of Imo State, the Environmental Transformation Committee and the Ministry of Petroleum and Environment, Imo State. The appeal was sequel to the earlier judgments delivered by Hon. Justice Maryann Anenih of Maitama High Court, Abuja, and Hon. Justice Ijeoma Agugua, in suit numbers FCT/HC/M/9257/2016 and HU/538/2011, respectively.

The appellants had prayed the Appeal Court to set aside the earlier judgments, which delivered judgment in favour of the contracting firm and Mr. Egbuchulam. As at the time of going to press, no government official was prepared to comment on the judgment
