Why first name and not last names? We have Mandela(not Nelson) Blair (not Tony) Putin (not Vladimir) Obasanjo (not Olusegun) (Obama (not Barack). I for one would wish that I be addressed by my last name and not first name.

This will be hard for the Yorubas amongst us. I know they dont call seniors by their names so how does this affect them in their work place. The only people who dont call me by my names are Yorubas and its kind of odd to me really. There was a day a guy referred to me by my name in a BB Chat group and boy was he severely reprimanded. Sincere 9gerian: This thread is an example of why Nigeria is DECAYING. Almost all the comments made so far could be described in one word- SENSELESS. This is a perfect example of how we waste our time in UNPRODUCTIVE ventures that end up multiplying poverty in GEOMETRIC PROGRESSION in this country. When our UNPRODUCTIVE ventures are rewarded with POVERTY, we turn round to blame govt. Ladies and gentlemen, Niger delta and Igbo oil money is INSUFFICIENT to feed 165million people. We must all get our hands dirty in PRODUCTIVE ventures. If we must talk or chat, it must be PRODUCTIVE. Your contribution on this forum should increase your country's GDP.

It is simply because there is improved power. I paid 3k in July. Its now 5k. I don't use prepaid. I calculate my consumption before the bill arrives and its dead on point. Mind how you use power now. Make sure your meter is read too. Naija too complain.

I think you can only call SR liars on this one if it is proven that GEJ did not depart BOTSWANA in a hurry and before schedule. If you still insist that SR has lied on this one, let us know if GEJ is still in BOSTWANA.

SaharaReporters just confirmed that President Goodluck Jonathan made a hasty departure from Botswana, cutting down his state visit by one day.

A source traveling with Jonathan in Malawi and Botswana told SaharaReporters that the president’s surprising and sudden departure has increased speculations among members of his delegation that his wife’s health condition may have taken a bad turn. “Some of us are even fearing that the First Lady may be dead,” our source said.

Mr. Jonathan arrived this morning in Gaborone, the capital of Botswana, after a state visit to Malawi. He was scheduled to stay in Botswana until tomorrow. However, Jonathan hurriedly left for the airport in Gaborone in the middle of a state luncheon. After hopping on a helicopter to visit a mine, he returned to the airport and hurriedly met members of the Nigerian community. He then got on his presidential jet and took off, leaving his ministers and other members of his delegation behind in Botswana.

Our source said that Mr. Jonathan told a few members of the delegation that he was headed back to Abuja. But, according to the source, several members of the president’s entourage suspect he may be headed to Germany to see his wife, Patience Jonathan, who is admitted to a hospital in Wiesbaden, Germany.

“The president appeared to be in a pensive mood as he left Botswana,” our source said.

Since yesterday, there have been speculations among government officials in Abuja that the ailing First Lady may have died.

Our source in Botswana stated that Jonathan should arrive in Abuja in about an hour – if he was truly headed back for Nigeria.
