Career › Re: MSc In UK Versus N183k Job Offer: Advice Please by onulakak(m): 10:55am On Sep 08, 2017 |
DanXplore: Please, i could use some career advice from great nairalanders. Please tag monikers that you think would be of great help, as i am at a crucial point in my career.
I am a graduate of chemcal engineering but for 2years now, have not gotten any engineering related job. The only job i got was at KPMG (audit), which i resigned after 3 months due to some personal reasons. I am currently an Area Sales Rep with a poultry feed production company that pays 183k per month (net take home after tax and other necessary deductions), though i could use up to 20 to 25k to fuel my car monthly. Now, i just got a PTDF scholarship offer to study Advanced process integration and design in UK but not really sure if it is worth ditching my current job for it.
I am not very confident about securing a job once i finish msc because only a handful of opportunities come for chemical engineers. more also,UK rarely retains Nigerians.
Please what are your advices, especially from those who have done Msc in Uk.
I need your advices, i don't want to make a costly mistake.
from my own point of view, i sincerely think you should go ahead with the scholarship offer. Master Degree is a step up in career, though it looks like you are well comfortable now with your current job offer, but i tell you, taking the scholarship is an investment that has a larger return on assets (ROA HERE IS YOUR ABILITY) than your current job offer. Brother do not hesitate to take the scholarship, it will go a long way in your life. |

1. At your own pace but minimum of 2 semesters. 2. Check the fee schedule on the school site and do the calculation(compulsory fees + course and exam registration fees) 3. Instalments? Anyways, you can pay for compulsory fees(for semester registration), pay for course and exam registration later (within the time frame for course and exam registration). thank you bro... are you currently a student there if yes? i would like to make contact with you. |

Hi fellows, This issue of Nnamdi Kalu and IPOB has taken over the fact that we are in hard times, still in recession,no jobs,no electricity,no good roads. To me i think we should put all youthful strength in making the country we found ourself gokd and better. I guess your grandfather did not tell you what a war looks like, they didn't tel you that the war contains two part which are suffering during the war and more severe suffering after the war. I am proudly igbo, but a wise one,Nnamdi Kalu is not my leader even if referendum is given today, because he lacks all good qualities of a good leader,i have never seeing him talk about the development of his Abia(my state of indegene),no investment in the East,no Job,no good road, how do you expect an average igbo man who has struggled to build his plaza in alaba or tradefair to go back to the east where there is absolutely nothing.
Think about it,these men beating drum wars carry alon their passport ,they have multiple citizenship in different countries, when war begins it me and you the ordinary man,who will suffer ,who will die for nothing, let us learn from the past, face our lives and family, grow old ,die good to.make heaven, heaven is the only place we should fight to belong.
Please preach peace, we all here i bet never saw the last civil war. I pray thee young fellows of Nigeria, embrace peace....... |
