The battle of supremacy between Gov Wike and former governor Rotimi Amaechi in Rivers state is taking a huge toll on both of them.
Their acts remind one about the journey made by the elders of the present soouthsouth region to Kaduna in 1967 where they begged Hassan Katsina, the then governor of the old Northern region to beg the then HoS, Yakubu Gowon, to carve the non Igbo speaking areas of the old Eastern region out from Biafra. Gowon did immediately, created Rivers and Cross River states. That helped a lot to the collapse of Biafra.
Thereafter, Northern politicians and soldiers took private possession of the multi billion dollar oil wells in the present southsouth region. The devastation from oil exploitation now lead to monied men from the region settling in Abuja and Lagos. Today, the well-informed in the region understand that divided you fail.
