Politics › Re: Prosecution Presents Evidence Against Okah by onyengbu1(m): 5:36pm On Oct 21, 2010 |
Most guys here that are blabbing now were the same people accusing sss of beating about the bush when ben jesse and orlu were declared wanted and later okah was arrested.
Their argument then was that: is it no longer ben jesse and orlu? Why is it okah and dokpesi? Now that they can see that there is connection between all these people, it is now: the evidence is weak!

Akin egba, sorry i found u out first, its been obvious to me (and i guess many others too) you are an igbo guy.
My advice is, you dont have to claim yoruba to get your points across. Again, the more u defend yourself, the more igbo u become. Imagine custom officer's accent being affected by living in igboland. Many non igbos can hardly learn to speak fluent igbo in 20 years. |

Jarus: TOP 5 INFLUENTIAL NIGERIANS BY MY RECKONING 1, Olusegun Obasanjo: The man that can give order to the president 2, Sultan of Sokoto: More than 50 million Muslims in Nigeria wait for him to declare when to celebrate sallah, start fasting 3, Pastor E.O Adeboye: Governors and presidents fall on one another to see him. 4, Olusola Saraki: The first African to have two children as governor and Senator at the same time. Daring to install daughter to take over from son as state governor. 3 million Kwarans and indeed millions of other Nigerians can kick, but doesn't have effect over his singular wish 5, P-Square: influence on youths goes beyond shores of Nigeria, but Africa at large. 1. By real meaning of influential, i dont really believe OBJ is influential. People will not go and do things in nigeria because OBJ 'suggested' it. 2. Sultan of Sokoto is very influential because considering the number of people dat can actually do things he 'suggested' 3. Pastor Adeboye is very influential and so also most religious leaders. 4. Saraki's rigging of elections did not qualify him as influential. 5. Psquare is very influential too cos many young people will do things because of them Let me add that another nigerian politician who can be influential to an extent is Ojukwu. So many igbo people see him as eze ndi igbo. Not in my own opinion though. |

Politics › Re: Militant Group Implicates Ibb On Abuja Bomb Blast by onyengbu1(m): 9:18am On Oct 08, 2010 |
reubeno: UNREPENTANT militants of the Niger Delta have introduced another seeming curious dimension to the alleged terrorist attack in Abuja on Friday, October 1, 2010.
The Joint Revolutionary Council (JRC), a network of some unrepentant insurgents, claimed in an on-line statement to AkanimoReports on Thursday that former military ruler and a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant, General Ibrahim Babangida, was behind the attack.
Spokesperson of the group, Mr. Bakabio Walter, said in the statement: ''We were approached earlier by agents of IBB to carry out attacks in the Niger Delta and Abuja to demystify President Goodluck Jonathan and show that he does not have the support of his people, but we declined''.
According to them, ''it was because of this that we suspended our armed campaign this year. We realised that IBB was going to use our genuine agitation to his own selfish, unpatriotic and over ambitious advantage''.
''It was when we declined that they approached Henry Okah who is a mercenary by nature, and they started with the Warri bomb blasts followed by this October 1, attacks'', they added.
Continuing, the JRC said, ''for now we can say authoritatively that Okah heads IBB's terror machine and theirs is more sophisticated than what they have done so far. Jonathan beware!
'Recent events in the politics of the Nigerian State further exposes the ethnic and national contradictions and justify our agitations for self determination and call for a Sovereign National Conference of all the nationalities that were forcefully conscripted into Nigeria. This is the only peaceful way of getting out of this babarism that is threatening to create the biggest refugee problem in the world.
''We would like to use this medium to warn Nigeria's dirty politicians not to drag our region and its genuine struggle into their muddy water of politics.
''Also, those who are planning to organise a coup de'tat should know that they would have us to contend with as we will never allow their authority to extend into our region. We are watching keenly as the drama unfolds, knowing that after all this mad dance of macabre we shall meet at the barricade''.

I mean why do they have to wait till now? Even as stupid as their claim sounds, I cannot help but read and re-read the bolded part. Its kinda funny but a true representation of what Nigeria at war will be. |

They are indirectly absolving IBB.
Though I wont be surprised if IBB himself asked them to say this in order to make other accusations against him look stupid. |

chyz: @ Slap 1. A simple scare wouldn't hurt. Like i said i dont condone the killing of innocent people;however, if the governor is is a killer or an oppressor then 2 things:Either he resigns honorably accepting his bad leadership or off with his head.
@Both Slap 1 and seunmsg, from reading the commends by nairalanders it would seem that this kind of attemp is what the majority want, for the militant groups to go after politicians and not regular civilians. There are various threads that talk of such.I'm sure maybe you 2 have been on them. However, what shocks me is how when some of those acts are carried out, many of those same people will condemn it. I guess my question is, what do nigerians really want in terms of handling corrupt politicians? and to what extent should punishment/or justice go? What they want is not necessarily the right thing and thats why it becomes bad when the deed is done. Its just like what you feel like when you hear that a robber has just murdered someone, you ll feel like killing the person right away but then you cant stand the sight of the same robber being lynched. |
