Kobojunkie: hhm . . . mayb you should focus on the issue instead ! Yea, I agree, though u tend to push people to go off the line atimes. Kobojunkie: You did not answer the question. If you feel you did, please repost the exact line where you provide me these answers.
By the way, I did not make any CLAIMS, I simply based my argument on my thoughts on the issue after considering patterns I have observed over years on this. This I made clear about 3 or 4 posts ago. This is what I wrote after you asked why they should be stopped from being in the primaries. onye_ngbu: Are you telling me that you no longer know why party primaries are conducted?
Lets say you dont. Primaries are meant to produce party flag bearers and thats why PDP should stop any candidate who is not from the region the ticket is zoned to.
Agreement is for rotational government which begins from the primaries.
What are you driving at sef. if there is any other question you are referring to or you feel my answer doesnt make sense to you, I'd like to hear it. And yes! It is all claims you were making because you do not have anything to support "your thoughts on the issue after considering patterns you have observed over years on this" . I was quoting you there. |

Kobojunkie: That does not answer the question. How about this, re-read all I have posted on this so far. Pause for serious deep thought. Take some time to read some reports from past primaries and then come back and post a response. Whenever you lack stuffs to support your claims, you sometimes come off as annoying. You asked why an agreement to zone presidency should stop people where it was not zoned to and I gave you the answer and all you could come up with is to ask me to go back and read all I have read before. |

Kobojunkie: Maybe I should ask you better questions on this to help you. Why would anybody stop them from being part of previous PDP primaries? The agreement DOES NOT STOP them. I am not sure why you believe IT SHOULD. The agreement is for rotational government . . what other agreement is there that mandates that ONLY CANDIDATES from the same region can contest? Are you telling me that you no longer know why party primaries are conducted? Lets say you dont. Primaries are meant to produce party flag bearers and thats why PDP should stop any candidate who is not from the region the ticket is zoned to. Kobojunkie: I think it might be best if you look back at what happened during the 2007 PDP Primaries, and how many people already knew who was to run on the PDP Ticket even before the end. If you can, read some of the reports during that period to get a better picture of how PDP probably handles their business. It is just naive to ask why people from other regions were allowed to run during those primaries when it is easy for one to conclude from events of past that those events were likely orchestrated for the benefit of the public. Haba Kobo, That reply doesnt look like what you should write. Even your weakest argument I have seen on NL is never based on hearsay and wild guess. Can you cite one single incident, article or statement from any PDP member to suggest that PDP primaries in 1998 and 2002 and 2006 were all conducted with contestants from both north and south just for the benefit of the people? Abeg look for something else to say if you cannot pull up something to support your claim. Fact is that nobody stopped, Gemade, Rimi and then Rochas from being part of previous PDP primaries they should not be in due to the so called agreement. You people should rather be suggesting that the president should contest in the primaries but PDP should make sure they rig him out to maintain their gentleman agreement. |

shogbenga: even though pdp has a zoning arrangement in place, i think the party is flexible about it. it is on record that late abubakar rimi contested the pdp primaries against obj despite the zonning. are we saying that if he had won the primaries, pdp wouldnt have allowed him to contest. However we should be interested in getting the best candidate for 2011 to run the affairs of the country, even if the person is a yoruba man. It is not just that Rimi and OBJ, Rochas Okorocha also contested PDP primaries with Yar Adua and came second. How come the 'gentleman agreement' was not cited then. Why didnt PDP stop him from even declaring interest since the arrangement has been there since 1998. Some people need to think, abeg. |

Kobojunkie: Most 99.5% of our politicians fall under that category -- not good people. So, I am not certain why we suddenly want to judge this one on that. The fact is the man OWNED the agreement and even goes as far as to state that he was among those who demanded the agreement. Note he did not say the HAUSA's Manufactured it. As for commenting on whether Goodluck can run for 2011, you and I know that in politics, you try to play safe and it is not surprising that he chose here to do same. What I meant by him not being a good person is that as regards his stand on the issue, he might be saying those things because there is something in it for him. Not because he is standing for justice and thats why I wondered why he didnt take a step further and call a spade what it rightly is by saying that going by the PDP arrangement, the President should not run. Why is it hard for him to say it if he is such a good person. Do you think it will be a hard thing for Gani or Soyinka to say if they are in Ekwueme's position? |

Sagamite: Are you saying for a second Alams is not a thief that looted public funds? I am not saying that Alams is not a thief and I am not also in position to say he is . . . . below is the link to his own side of the story. http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2010/may/23/national-23-05-2010-001.htmThis is what he said about dressing like a woman to return to naija. Q: How did you eventually return to Nigeria? I have said it before. Every other day, the Metropolitan Police came to my house. So one of those days, they took me out of London to an awaiting aircraft and when I asked where they were taking me, they said, look we don’t want your political problems. Go and solve it. The day we saw your Nigerian Attorney General in court making that type of statement, we knew that it was not a criminal matter but political and we are not interested in getting involved. So I was flown to Ivory Coast. They had warned me not to say certain things they did. So I was lucky a Nigerian was coming to do business in a chartered aircraft because I had no passport.
I was just stranded in Ivory Coast in the evening when this Good Samaritan saw me. He was excited and asked what I was doing in Ivory Coast and I narrated my ordeal. So he said I should join him and he brought me back to Nigeria. I got home late. We flew to Lagos and the same aircraft took me to Port Harcourt. It was in Lagos I called my ADC to come and pick me at the airport and that was how I got home. I never dressed like a woman to escape from London. There were a lot of things and I am only abridging it because the stories are highly classified. The only thing I can say is that it is unfortunate. |

Concerning this Alams appointment:
Have you guys not read Alams' own side of that UK conviction story.
The interview was on one Sunday sun of few weeks back.
He narrated all the details of the London arrest, how far OBJ and Bayo Ojo went to nail him; and how he never dressed as a woman back to naija.
I am not saying his own account is true but WHAT IF IT IS?
We all know what OBJ is capable of and what if Jonathan knew the man was truely set up and now wants to compensate him or something.
Lets look at it from that angle.
On the rest of the story, lets wait and see. |

And surprisingly they all live in lagos where it is believed food is cheaper. Here in the east an ideal mama put will sell between #150 - #200. It can skyrocket to #1000 if you decide to eat everything in the woman's kitting. Dont give me that 'hundred naira food will kill you' because we are talking about Mama put if you dont want to be killed by food, go and eat in a reputable restaurant where the owners can compensate your people if they accidentally poison you. Politics › Re: Nigerian Electricity Solution by onyengbu1(m): 12:38pm On Jun 28, 2010 |
hercules07: The problem with Solar Energy include space for the solar panels, most people live in rented apartment, imagine 4 tenants wishing to install solar panels in Lagos in a house. The second issue is the necessary wattage to power a house, you will need at least 2KVA (Fridge, Flat Screen TVs and so on). The last issue is battery bank and replacements, the higher your consumption, the more battery bank you require, the more the batteries, the more solar panels. In areas like the South South where it rains most times, you will need an alternative charger, such as Generator or Good ol Nepa, that is more costs. The power situation has improved now because the rains are here and MEND are a little bit quiet, the Hydro dams should be working at close to capacity. The solution needs the government to get their acts together, if we privatise everything having to do with power, the costs will be prohibitive. We can not simply privatise everything, the government needs to be involved. People who live on rented apartments also install Satellite TV Dishes. Issue of battery cost should be dealt along with installation cost, they should all come as a package. People already construct 'inverters' that power their apartments with batteries that stores up to 10KVA of energy. Solar is just about the same procedure except that in the case of solar, you need sunlight and the panels instead of nepa or generator to charge up your battery. To me, solar remains a better option. Most people that can afford generators and still pay nepa at the same time can afford it. |

@ajax php, You are muddling up the hard coded script that people are giving you here with your Dreamweaver generated script. From your line one, you included a DB connection by DW and also on the same script created a new connection posted here on NL. Please choose one. This is how I will do it, according to your explanation: There are 2 pages: search.php and resultPage.php for search.php <form name="form1" method="post" action="resultPage.php"> Matric Number: <input name="matricno" type="text" id="matricno"> Semester: <select name="semester" id="semester"> <option selected>Select Semester</option> <option value="1">1st Semester</option> <option value="2">2nd Semester</option> </select> Level: <select name="level" id="level"> <option selected>Select Level</option> <option value="100">100</option> <option value="200">200</option> <option value="300">300</option> <option value="400">400</option> <option value="500">500</option> </select> <input type="submit" name="Submit" value="Check Result"> </form> Then for resultPage.php Using edited jeshurun07's script and yours: <?php

I would use '=' if it were mine since I know that students know their matric nos and wouldnt be guessing. |
