degreat11: so u av brother with that kind of SOA, u still dey use ur Uncle... so be frank ur uncle doesn't want to give u his SOA
and if you check very well, he has not closed any account not to talk of opening new off shore account...He just waited for the best time to give you the shocker (waiting for you to gather the whole docx remaining the SOA)...Ndi mmadu sef

All the best bro.
And carefully observe his countenance the moment he knows you've got ur TRV and travelling out

Happy independence friends

sidnigga: U r in support of d guy dat used an incorporated coy's acct as proof of financial standing.. I think it's wrong to do that... That's ultra vires d coy.. Unless d person is travelling on official duty or he's on leave and d coy wanted to sponsor d vacation trip.... Another way of using d coy's corporate acct as proof is by passing of special resolution at d coy's meeting which ¾ of d members hv to vote in favour of that
oga. Plz if you can take time to read from part 1 of this thread till this current part 6, fine, you'll see that people have been applying for TRV with company accounts since time immemorial without all these things you're mentioning and still got their TRVs...so, get ur facts right before stating it here so as to avoid putting people into sleepless nights when faced with similar conditions.

The only reservation about using a company account is presenting an account with a low balance which might raise an eyebrow
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by Onyeoma3: 2:28am On Sep 26, 2014
sidnigga: Yeah!with He's personal SOA u r gud to go... Den all d coy's docs serve as source of d fund in his personal SOA
Even with the company's SOA with a good balance, he's good to go...

I know over 5 people this year alone that have applied with company SOA (limited liability) presented by the CEO with good figures and still got their TRV...eating pizza and subway right now in Canny
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by Onyeoma3: 11:16pm On Sep 25, 2014
sidnigga: Wrong!!! That will be ultra vires the company if d company does dat. Unless they have such clause in deir MOA(memo of asso)... d coy can only sponsor any of deir staff or officials with deir SOA on official duty..it will not be ultra vires If dey use deir SOA 2 sponsor in form of scholarship sha oo
Oga, plz re-read my write-up very carefully in response to a misleading quote and understand the angle I'm coming from before quoting me wrongly...
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by Onyeoma3: 5:15pm On Sep 25, 2014
degreat11: Never ever use a company with limited liability as a SOA when u are not working there, as the name imply the money is not meant for anyone, the company is a separate entity and have shareholders. even with 10billion the VO will still denied you Visa. what you can do is to use ur Sponsor personal account as SOA
I don't agree with you @ d bolded bro....except you wanted to write 10million.

Despite the fact that the company is a seperate entity and has shareholders, if the affidavit/sponsorship letter is signed by @ least 2 of the shareholders and their names duly written on the CAC 2 and CAC 7 (with a regular signature)....its automatically assumed that the applicant can have access to the funds, though to be on the safest side, its good to have a very heavy cash flow and balance as well indicating that the company is a going concern.

In addition, if the applicant is the son of the CEO, he has a very big chance of scaling thru with the company SOA (similar cases have been reported here on NL).

And finally, if the applicant is one of the directors....okwu agwugonu (talk don finish naa)....

Anything outside these 3 cases or being an employee of the company...the chances of scaling thru might be very low...

Klinkiddy: Thanks for the piece of advice bro!
The school already issued another acceptance letter stating I'm to start nxt fall. Moreso, the program is a 9month program and I've already missed almost class now. I just don't think I can make it this fall. Won't mind more advice tho....
Congrats on ur TRV and sorry for the delay in resumption.
@ d bolded : How many years TRV were you given?? If tis 2 years, you'll have a longer expiry date for entry into Canada and you don't have much to worry about but if tis a 1 year TRV, and you don't enter Maple land before it expires, you might run into difficulties(presenting fresh docx and all)...
My advice: if the former, then relax but if the latter, apply to another school (with the same duration of program) for a winter start date and come over immediately to commence ur studies by january.
All the best...

I came online yesterday evening and saw many pages already gone, @ 1st I thought twas that the long awaited TRV of my man ChrisViral has finally arrived and thus the congratulatory messages or that CHRIGO has finally invited us to the much expected WEDDING between him and Missy...only to come see exchange of words and hidden posts, worst of it all someone insulting my own OGA SIGA in here for no just cause...My oga no vex abeg..

Coming to the issue of Naija babes and their mentality...I've never been a fan of talking to a stranger(in this case a ladie) casually on the road except to ask an important question and from my facial expression, she'll know I called her attention for serious business. Its always easier with lesser risk of embarassment to initiate a conversation anytime anywhere thru referrals or on a 2nd connection basis...

An average babe gets a good number of chykers daily so some of them use this as a defense strategy to limit the number of chykers (esp if they have reached the maximum no of chykers for that day...a subconscious act though)...The only reserve I have is that some of the LADIES do it when its unnecessary...

Let's forge ahead guys...

halle2: Hello everyone,

Glad to see this thread move very fast, looking forward to lots of good news for late fall applicants and winter applicants.
please for those familiar with travelling with lufthansa, what is their baggage policy? I am seeing 1piece? Does it mean I am only entitled to 1 piece of 23kg? I heard ppl saying 23kg per piece for two luggage and now I have two luggage packed. If I am paying for the additional one, how much is it? Pls I need to know asap, am leaving tomorrow.
seems dis question got no response, every passenger is entitled to 23kg by 2piece...any extra luggage attracts $200.

I hope you still find the reply useful though tis coming late.

Wishing you a safe trip tonight

bighead1: PLEASE IT SEEMS MANDATORY FOR MUN APPLICANTS??
I don't get pls, kindly rephrase so I can understand you better...

But if you mean if tis compulsory for MUN applicants, well I can't say cos I've not been to their website for admission purpose...but from what I've learnt from this thread so far, it seems they waive it for Naija students

einsteino: I will give you a link the school sent to me when I inquired from them, nigeria and any person who has been taught for at least 9yrs in english are exempted.

Just watch this space.I will put the link here this evening
Not disputing that bro, but Chemical Engineering Dept and few other depts specifically shortlisted the countries exempt from English Language tests(for graudate admission) and Naija was not included...that was what scared me away from uAlberta as a matter of fact till today cos I no get strength to begin write TOEFL

Joe980: @Onyeoma3...I need your input on this please. Form 1294E (application for study permit), question 1 under DETAILS OF INTENDED STUDY IN CANADA with option C...says; My field of study will be? I am going for Meng Engineering Mgt. I need clearance on what to take. Thanks.
Pretty straight forward bro...M.Eng Engineering Management

Wishing you all the best in ur application

einsteino: Thanks alot. I been done decide to stick with my job for here. I was like after spending all that money on an M.eng, dem still no go gree employ me.

Pls on the immigration site, I read that anyone employed has to get a study leave from his boss and submit it along other documents. My wahala is, I rili do not want to announce to my boss that am planning on leaving next year. At least not until am certain I have got my visa. Can I just pretend to be unemployed? Does being employed improve my chances of getting a visa?
Someone I know resigned from his job in Shell Petroleum (as a full staff), went for his Masters @ University of Calgary, Petroleum Engineering...and guess what, after his masters, got a better offer @ ConocoPhillips Canada...

In life , one should never feel so relaxed in his/her comfort zone...make steps to be ahead of where you are presently...and you'll see yourself soaring higher by the day ahead of your peers...

So take the bold step bro...all the best

SURGEE: hello everyone, pls do we have anyone who as applied to the university of Alberta for a grad program, kindly detail on there entry requirement and can someone substitute IELTS with a letter of instruction from ones undergrad university that courses taken was in English, as I want to believe that this works with MUN.
Generally, its waived by the school but some some dept still requires it, for instance, Chemical Engineering Graduate Programme...so check ur departmental specific requirement for their take on it

einsteino: University of alberta doesnt require IELTS for nigerians. It is on their site. Though I cant tell if the embassy wouldnt demand for it
The last time I checked their site, Naija was not among the countries that were exempt from IELTS or TOEFl (though for Chem Engineering anyway)... Unless his/her department waives it for Nigeria
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by Onyeoma3: 4:14pm On Aug 30, 2014
einsteino: Pls I have a B.Engr Civil Engineering from the univerity of Nigeria(second class upper) and intend to do an M.Eng at university of alberta. I also have the intention of getting a job in canada after my studies. I was told by someone that employers are reluctant to employ someone who does not have a first degree from their school(in this case canadian sch) irrespective of the M.eng that was gotten from their sch? Pls is this true?
Bros eehn,@ d bolded, abeg watch that someone very closely...its either he/she is discouraging you from pursuing ur dreams or just misinformation.
What employers mostly look out for are your skills and experience....backed up fully by ur educational qualifications and not whether you did your 1st degree in Naija, Panya or Canada
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 6 by Onyeoma3: 4:00pm On Aug 30, 2014
humanshado: Schedule 1 (Application for a Temporary Resident Visa Made Outside Canada) is mandatory for applicants who require visa to enter Canada and Nigerians fall into this category. It is only optional if you are a citizen of a country that Canada has a standing bilateral agreement that allows citizens of both countries visa-free entry like EU citizens, US citizens, etc.

The implication of not filling Schedule 1 as a Nigerian citizen is that you are only applying for study permit which is not an entry permit and therefore, you will not be allowed into Canada in the first place without a Temporary Resident Visa (TRV). TRV is a sticker that the Canadian High Commission in Lagos will place on your passport after processing to allow you entry into Canada while the study permit is a small paper you will be issued at the point of entry in Canada - they just staple it your passport.

So you MUST INCLUDE SCHEDULE 1 AS A NIGERIAN CITIZEN!

All the best
I beg to disagree bro, or was it just made compulsory just recently??

Lonewolf001: ok tanx i'll check them out. ar u studying dere already

you can check University of Ottawa, MUN, University of York, University of Manitoba etc
What CGPA did you graduate with?

Though its a determining factor, the best way to easily get an admission into a Research Based Masters is to get a supervisor...and with the supervisor's recommendation, your admission is already 60-70% certain if not more than.

Even if you apply to uOttawa, MUN, uYork or uManitoba without getting a supervisor to recommend you for admission, you might get similar response from the schools.

But the main issue now is how to get a supervisor, which is the biggest challenge in getting admitted for a Research based programme.

Those schools you mentioned can easily give you admission if you apply for Course Based Masters and ur CGPA is high as well...
