Davido’s Fiance and wife-to-be, Chioma Avril Rowland has tested negative for covid-19.

Davido made the announcement on his social media page minutes ago;

“Glory be to God .. Chioma has now tested negative twice for Covid19 … Thank you all for prayers …. We love you ..”

The musician had previously disclosed on the evening of Friday, March 27, 2020, when she tested positive for the virus.

He wrote;

“Hey everyone ! I came back recently from America after cancelling tour. My fiancé Chioma also came back from London recently with our baby. We had no symptoms and still both feel perfectly fine but because of our recent travel history we decided to take ourselves and our all close associates we’ve come in recent contact with for the COVID-19 test on the 25th of March.”

“Unfortunately, my fiancé’s results came back positive while all 31 others tested have come back negative including our baby. We are however doing perfectly fine and she is even still yet to show any symptoms whatsoever. She is now being quarantined and I have also gone into full self isolation for the minimum 14 days. I want to use this opportunity to thank you all for your endless love and prayers in advance and to urge everyone to please stay at home as we control the spread of this virus!    The Easter period is an important time because of what it signifies. Easter is the commemoration of the death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. It reminds us of the divine transaction that brought about redemption for humanity. One of the major symbols of this event is the empty tomb of Jesus Christ. Why is the empty tomb of Christ of such significance to us as Christians? It is because of what it symbolizes, which is that :
  
Jesus was fully human, who had a flesh and blood body. Just as Jesus, while on earth, was God, He was equally man. Forever Jesus will remain both God and Man (1 Tim 2:5). Anyone who questions either the divinity or humanity of Jesus does not understand Christianity. Jesus is the Word who was with God and is God and has become flesh (John 1:1,14). By His incarnation, Jesus has become the perfect representation of God to man and of man to God.
  
As a man, Jesus went through the natural processes of growth and experienced the common circumstances of daily human existence. The Bible records that He was born a baby, grew to be a boy and finally matured into manhood. In addition, He was a carpenter's son, who later became a carpenter Himself. As human, He experienced the sinless infirmities of mankind, such as hunger, tiredness etc. This implies that Jesus understands your challenges as a human being.
  
Jesus actually died and rose from the dead. He died literally, not figuratively or metaphorically.  The question the angels asked the women who had visited the tomb of Jesus Christ a few days after He was crucified, in the words, "Why do you seek the living among the dead?" confirms it. They were actually looking for the living among the dead. However, "the living" in this case was once "the dead", hence, the angels added: "He is not here, but is risen!", implying that He was once there (among the dead ), (Lk 24:5,6). Therefore, the empty tomb reveals that Jesus died and rose from the dead bodily, thereby conquering death and the grave. We can rest assured, then, that someday this corruptible body of ours will put on incorruption, and immortality (1Cor 15:54).
 
The atoning sacrifice of Jesus for the sin of humanity was accepted by the Father. The cross is the symbol of the atoning sacrifice of Jesus. It reminds us of the claims of divine justice, which Jesus came to satisfy  by His substitutionary death. For His death to be considered a substitutionary one, Jesus had to have obeyed God on all counts; He had to have been tempted in all points, as we are, and yet be without sin (Heb 4:15). Until that was the case (thank God it was ), His death would not qualify as sacrificial on humanity's behalf. The ultimate proof of the divine acceptance of His atoning sacrifice would be His resurrection from the dead. His empty tomb confirms and symbolizes that reality.
  
In conclusion, since the empty tomb of Christ points to His resurrection from the dead, bodily, let us rejoice in this reality, knowing that because He lives, we can face tomorrow. Let us remember that, "He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again" (2Cor 5:15). Therefore, LIVE FOR HIM. Happy Easter. The Ekiti State police has arrested a Tiv man identified simply as Sunday, after being linked to the death of 35-year-old Onibedo of Ilotin community of the state, Chief Sola Fatunla.

Before the incident, Sunday had apologized to the deceased for accusing him of snatching his wife Tadeni who he had two kids with before their marriage collapsed. The apology came after he found out that Fatunla and his wife were mere family friends.

But events took a tragic turn on Sunday when Fatunla followed the man to the bush.

Fatunla was killed last Sunday, while accompanying the suspect to where he claimed his charcoal was seized. Sunday had allegedly begged Fatunla to use his influence as a chief in Ikole Ekiti, to plead with some people he claimed had seized his charcoal in the bush.

He ran out of luck after his wife who he abducted alongside the Ekiti Chief, escaped while he and his acomplices allegedly took the deceased to a different location where he was beaten with cutlass and set ablaze.

A police source told Daily Trust;

“While the Chief was accompanying him to where his charcoal was seized, the Tiv man allegedly connived with others to abduct Chief Fatunla and Miss Tadeni somewhere around Iyemero Ekiti, in Ikole local government, Ekiti State.

“The Chief was strangled to death and his corpse set on fire. However, Miss Tadeni escaped from the abductors. Sunday and his other accomplices were caught by vigilante men in the Pategi area of Kwara State as they were escaping.

“When the vigilante men stopped Sunday and his accomplices and were questioning them as to their mission in the area, especially despite the lockdown, Chief Fatunla’s phone that Sunday kept in his pocket rang and he refused to answer the call. One of the vigilante men collected the phone and answered the call only to be told that the owner of the phone was abducted.

“The vigilante men then handed Sunday and the others to the police in Kwara State, who transferred them to the police in Ekiti State. Chief Fatunla’s remains had been recovered and deposited in the mortuary, while Sunday and the other suspects are being detained by the police in Ekiti State.”

The Nigerian Federal Government has granted amnesty to no fewer than 2,600 prison inmates as part of measures to de-congest prison facilities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, announced this at a press conference which held at the headquarters of the Nigerian Correctional Service in Abuja today, April 9.

According to the Minister, those eligible for the pardon include inmates that are 60 years and above; those suffering from ill-health likely to result in death; convicts serving three years and above and have less than six months to serve; inmates with mental issues; and inmates with an option of fine not exceeding N50,000.

Aregbesola said that out of the said number, 70 inmates will be released today from Kuje maximum custodial centre.

“In a symbolic gesture of the amnesty given to the 2,600 inmates across Nigeria, 41 Federal inmates and 29 FCT inmates making a total of 70 inmates who met the above criteria will be released today from the Kuje Custodial Centre in Abuja. This amnesty will not apply to inmates sentenced for violent extreme offences such as terrorism, kidnapping, armed banditry, rape, human trafficking, culpable homicide and so on.

The Governors of the 36 states under whose jurisdiction most of the inmates were incarcerated will complete the exercise in line with the federal principle.” he said.

A couple in India have reportedly named their newborn twins ‘Corona’ and ‘Covid’ in a shocking move as the world battles the deadly pandemic.

The names, ‘Corona’ and ‘Covid’ were derived from the Coronavirus (COVID-19), a deadly disease that broke out from Wuhan in China.

The couple who welcomed the bundles of joy during the ongoing coronavirus-enforced nationwide lockdown decided to name them ‘Corona’ and ‘Covid’ because the kids symbolise triumph over hardships.

According to the couple, the names would remind them about all the hardships they conquered amid the lockdown.
