ozowarac: I don't expect you to grasp the depth of my commentary because you are probably one of those that use the 'Afonja' name as an epithet to mock Yorubas today. Jimi is toeing the Afonja line and if he succeeds no be only Afonja una go dey use abuse Yorubas, una go add 'Jimi' join am. 54 Likes 10 Shares |

Jimi is playing a very dangerous game, from a historical perspective which I will explain in a minute. Even if Tinubu will be retired in Lagos, it shouldn't be via non-Yorubas the way Jimi is trying to achieve it. Yorubas alone should make that call. History taught us that Afonja sought the help of Hausa and Fulani jamas to help defeat an unpopular and tyrannical Alaafin in order for him to consolidate his hold on ilorin, only for the jamas to start feeling like he owed them his position, culminating in his death in the hands of the same jamas while he was trying to clip their wings. That episode led to the birth of the ilorin emirate (the only one existing on Yoruba soil till date). Similar scenario must never be allowed to repeat itself ever again on Yoruba soil. Jimi will lose this election of course, but if he were to win with the help of igbos, he and and all subsequent Lagos governors would be at their mercy because they will claim sole credit/responsibility for such victory. That would spell doom for Lagos as we know it. This is beyond Tinubu or no Tinubu. The cost of involving outsiders in settling political scores will never favour the Yoruba nation. 135 Likes 22 Shares |

Politics / Re: Lagos APC Splits As Faction Forms Rival Group by OoduaVanguard: 1:10pm On Feb 28, 2018 |
amarilo: Continue dreaming. I know you would love nothing more than to see the scenario you painted to come to pass, but you are merely exposing your own folly. A thousand Buharis cant do shyt to Tinubu if he decides to leave APC today. And you can quote me anyday. You talk as if there are currently no states under opposition parties (APGA, PDP) in Nigeria. The cpc arm of APC in Lagos is practically DEAD because their members have been completely shut out of power and patronage by the main body. Do you think with all the federal might that Buhari or APC can take over Taraba from PDP/Danjuma grip? Or that Gombe, Rivers, Enugu, and Akwa Ibom will fall to APC just because Buharis in power. Like are you fvcking kidding me? Or that Kwara will fall to Buhari if Saraki leaves APC today. Politics is local. And that is the same reason why bat still has an iron grip on the grassroot APC in Lagos. Also, you are obvious naive if you think that Inec refusal to register another party would stop the move to a new party, when there are more than enough parties already in existence as we speak that can be hijacked for the exact same purpose. Opposition politics is what BAT knows how to do best. Buhari cant be worse than Abacha so forget the hype. He has only a max of 5 more years as president after which he will likely retire back to his cattle ranch. He would be stupiid to devote his 2nd term in office to confronting BAT when he has more pressing economic and security issues to contend with nationally. Keep dreaming. 6 Likes |
Politics / Re: Lagos APC Splits As Faction Forms Rival Group by OoduaVanguard: 9:40am On Feb 28, 2018 |
onatisi: You and your fellows love to blow hot air just coz you are yet to get over your obsession with GEJ loss. This so-called faction has existed since the merger of parties that became APC. And this is not the first time they will be crying to Buhari over their marginalization. They are Cpc arm of the merger and it is not only in Lagos that they are being marginalized, the story is the same in Oyo (shittu faction in oyo, even the one in sokoto is also alleging marginalization) https://leadership.ng/2018/02/11/defunct-cpc-members-allege-marginalization-apc/ But they are just wasting their time & wont smell power in the state because it is obvious where their loyalty lies, aside the fact that they have no political base whatsoever. OBJ gave Obanikoro more powers than Fashola and Fayemi can ever have under this admin, with the clear goal of taking over Lagos and he still failed woefully. Where is the same Obanikoro today? What you guys fail to understand is that Fashola may be disgruntled, but he knows his limits and there is a line he will never cross. Fayemi on the other hand wont overreach himself by meddling in Lagos politics because he has absolutely no base. The FG will have to be willing to go bankrupt to outspend Tinubu APC faction in Lagos. A million Fayemis cannot even match Fayose in Ekiti, yet you of all people are here fantasizing about him plotting to take over Lagos? Fayemi should first of all go and retake Ekiti. Fayose's 16-0 record against him as an incumbent is still intact for him to contend with. This current Buhari administration will terminate at some point (matter of fact the party is destined to split, and Buhari presidency is the only thread still holding it together), and those characters you mentioned will fade into oblivion like their contemporaries because they are political neophytes outside office without any grassroot support. If push comes to shove, Tinubu will leave APC for Buhari with his machinery intact and tackle them head on the way he did Obasanjo and his PDP. He still has enough loyalists all across the SW states (including edo) to create another party and movement owing to his experience in party politics and after having spent so long in the trenches. I dont even think Buhari will be willing to go that far to confront bat, so you guys can chill with this your fantasies. 12 Likes 2 Shares |

Drogbs: Stop fooling yourself, the 'developed' part of Enugu consists of no more than two local governments, quote me anywhere. Outside that the rest of the entire state, including Nsukka, are glorified villages. It's an abomination to compare Enugu to Ibadan, on what basis please?? Ibadan has 4 bad-ass malls with Cinema plexes (Enugu has just the polo mall with one cinema which it hosts, even the Polo mall sef na Yoruba man get am ), a world class resort (Agodi Gardens), Zoo, a CBD, Industries, you name it. The fvck outta here boy. 14 Likes 2 Shares |

shukuokukobambi: The problem with some of these guys is that they allow politics to mess up their thinking faculty. Just because you hate the governor or his party shouldn't be enough grounds to join and even support the flattheads in running down a whole Ibadan. That's unacceptable. 9 Likes |

InyinyaAgbaOku: Yinmu. The only business you people are known for is opening shops to sell substandard and imported merchandise. That's why it's proving herculean for you lot to show us the stuff you are made of. I am sure that that thread would have gone beyond a million pages if you guys had chosen to include all the Okoro & sons 2x2 trading shops you have all over the place, coz that is the igboman's idea of entrepreneurship -- opening a shop and selling okrika and fake merchandise. 15 Likes 1 Share |
