basilo101: when i was in kano in 2007 i met some guys from one family who spoke perfect igbo more than me, on inquiry it turns out they were all born and brought up in Enugu and their Dad was appointed into cabinet under Chimaroke. The problem with yorubas is that they think the world revolve around Lagos/Ibadan, they refuse to migrate and integrate in other regions while warning others to stay away from their political space which is never gonna happen anyway YOu lots are delusional. There's a reason why most Nigerians refuse to move in droves to the SE as they do to the SW, the North, and even the SS. It's the same reason why your own people flee your region in droves. Yorubas are in sizeable numbers in Ghana, Benin, Togo and even as far as Ivory Coast, not to mention the U.k, U.S and other countries. Just admit the obvious that the SE is the least attractive and conducive region in the entire country, which explains why Yorubas and indeed most of the other ethnic groups in the country aren't moving there in droves -- which also explains why there are less non-indigenes there than any other region. Heck! Even Igbos are leaving the region in droves due to lack of opportunities, yet you expect us to move to where una dey flee from?? Mba. Thanks but no thanks. |

Guy, you are so ignorant. FYI LAGOS DOES NOT GET A DIME OF ITS IGR FROM ITS PORTS COZ ALL THE REVENUE FROM THE PORTS, LAND AND AIR GO TO THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT!!! Hope you get it now? Geez, you people's hatred for LAgos and the SW blinds you to common sense and simple logic. SMH! |

Since Ambode started enforcing the hawking ban he lost his job and has been running around constituting a nuisance here on Nairaland, instead make he go learn trade like the rest. Lazy and Jobless thing. |

Ipobs = Very silly and confused lot. They are the most bitter and hate-filled set of people in Nigeria. They can't sit their butts in their region yet litter other regions they love to hate like rabbits. I don't get how they reason. If the rest of the country begins to exhibit half the level of bitterness and hatred they spit at others, they'll only amplify their usual whining. Smh. |

iaamxavier: I've been pondering for month what exactly the south west contribute to Nigeria's economy
**we know the North contributes a lot in terms of feeding, leather production and so much more!
**we know the SE contribute a lot in terms of commerce (import and export) business and so much more
**we know the SS contribute about 80% or more to Nigeria's economy in term of crude oil and other mineral resources
Now the big question is what is the major thing the south west contributes to Nigeria's economy ??
I'm talking about THE MAJOR THING! Are you this foolish?? The SW contributes the highest non-oil revenues to the Federal coffers after the Niger Delta -- FACT! Our land and sea borders, Cocoa, Industries all contribute more to the FG than any other region after the SS. Infact, the SW contributes more than 3-times what the SE does. Borrow yourself a brain. |

VirginFinder: Let's be sincere here!
The north has been fair enough. They are no fools!!
You think they dont know Saraki is a Yoruba man? You think they choose to live in delusions like our ibo brethren? Never!
Yet, Gbaja almost grabbed the Speakership by their support but for the PDP reps, majority of whom are SE/SS, who allowed Dogara emerge narrowly.
Tinubu cannot always have his way. APC is now a national party. How could he think he could just singlehandedly fill in nos 1 to 6 under the guise of party decision? Come on, Nigerians are no fools!
Yorubas can never be used and dumped. I still insist that it is good that the SW is showing the grit, this early, that they can protect their interest if need be. This crisis gives them the opportunity to demonstrate that they will not be relegated. Going by the Northern bias of most of the president's appointments so far, never say never. We just have to agree to disagree on this one bossman. |

VirginFinder: You are a dullard!
Which region is occupying the second highest office in the land?
Ekwueme cannot be compared with Osinbajo?
Tinubu & co are asking for too much in my opinion.
The Yoruba race are in nos 2,3 & 6. That's ok!! I see where you are coming from but you need to try and understand where Tinubu's faction is also coming from -- they need to send a strong message to the North that the SW will not be used and dumped, this is hard-ball politics. If they don't do this now believe me when I say that they will be relegated. Simple. The Northerners are master politicians and Tinubu himself is no green-horn. Am sure they will sort themselves eventually but am happy the SW is showing that they have the ballz and stomach to play hard-ball/brinkmanship politics. |

LadyFiona: We all didn't support PDP, so that is sort of void. All the likes are not even from the Igbos, hell GEJ isn't even an Igbo man. What if the likes are coming from the southern minorities and some Igbos? The likes won't determine anything here, probably this thread can, all things being equal. Smh. Ok, i hear you lady, whatever you say. Am not in the mood. |

I know where this is going The Biafrans will soon start claiming, like everything else, that they "built" and "developed" Nairaland, and control its "economy". And threaten that the NL "economy" will crash if they leave in their numbers -- some are already calling on other Biafrans to setup a rival own forum due to the mods' heavy-handedness Same ole, same ole. |
Politics › Re: Which Tribe Has The Most Nairalanders? by OoduaVanguard: 2:39pm On Jul 04, 2015 |
LadyFiona: So meaning it's only Yorubas and Hausas that voted for Buhari, right The results showed APC got votes from those areas that's predominantly Igbos and from other minorities .
Your assertions are flawed. Not necessarily, just that the average SE/igbo member at the time spoke with their likes and made no secret of their PDP preference -- and their threads and contribution as at then got the least likes. I believe the threads in question can be revisited. |
