Please for someone whose profile has expired and he wants to create another one, under the question 'Have you applied for Express Entry before', should he answer yes or no?

Kindly respond to avoid stories that touch...
Thanks.

I requested for EOR and my writing changed from 6.5 to 8 and my speaking changed from 7 to 8.5.

In my 1st ielts with no preparation per say, i had 7.5 in listening and 7 in writing. With more preparation, i had 8.5 in listening then 6.5 in writing.

Ielts in Nigeria should be checked.

Cheers!

godG:

Really, I have seen this in people's IELTS stories. I have also had to consider whether those BC people dey do ojoro. cheesy

But, frankly, it has very little to do with the BC and more to do with the test-takers. Barring any uncommon factor, there's no way anyone will adequately prepare for any exam and not hit his/her target scores. And adequacy doesn't have to be about the quantity of preparation. It's the quality that matters.

Of course, I know that the IELTS scoring (for the Speaking and Writing modules) is subjective. However, even with the subjectivity, it's quite uncommon to see someone's EOR in Writing, for instance, jump from 6.5 to 8.

I hate to say this, but I strongly believe that the bulk of the problem people encounter with the IELTS exam can be linked to how adequate their preparations were and how they think about the exam. Most people think way too much about it.

While thinking too much about it may be good, there is a thin line between overthinking and fear and anxiety. Fear and anxiety have made many people fail exams they would have otherwise passed.

To those still trying to cross the IELTS hurdle, hang in there! Best wishes.

Good day people, has anyone seen or heard of a Ph.D holder who has successfully done ECA? If yes, which institution was used and what documents can one send? Cos I learnt there are no transcript as there is no exam, just research work... and then the certificate.

Any one with any info on this should assist urgently.
Thanks.

Thanks for this info.

Kogigallll:

Someone taught me this;

Please let your school use their OFFICIAL email address to scan your signed, stamped transcripts.

Immediately you know they have sent it, go to their website and follow the process there...
Don't print out form, do it online and PAY immediately.

Then send them a firm email after 72hours.

Took 8 weeks, 2days.

Pls did your school send your transcript via email or courier? There's this gist that ICES works faster with email. We need to know if the gist holds water.

Stephanie09:

Have you not passed the 12weeks timeline ? I remember that in your mail you said it was almost completed. I just got my report on Monday and it wasn’t even up to 12 weeks. Took a total of 10weeks.

Thanks for your response dear. I've seen this on their portal but wanted to know what your experience was with respect to timelines. From when you finished the program to when you were able to get your statement/certificate plus when WES received plus verification.
Pardon me, the info is needed for decision making among many...

GlitteringStar:

Postgraduate right? If yes, the process is very easy. The processing time is 5 to 15 working days. This is the link to the step by step process----http://nouedu.net/article/postgraduate-transcript-application-guidelines

Thanks a lot. Spouse is actually not even ready to leave even if she is accompanying, so we are looking for a way out...

I appreciate.
A555:

honestly, i think it is a struggle to come up with positives for applying with spouse unaccompanying. Even when you spouse is not ready to move yet, if you are the primary applicant, you can land alone first and have your spouse do a short landing at a more convenient time, so long as it is within the validity of his/her medicals and COPR.

Maybe the only positive (depending on how you view it) is not having to pay the fees for the accompanying spouse yet, so less cost to start with.

But things like cost of living (maintaining two homes is expensive and consider also the value of the naira if cash is being sent to you in Canada), and combine that with the hassle described by @Eyifunmi noting also that the current immigration policy is not cast in stone (a change in govt can bring in significant changes that can affect the chances or difficulty of a spouse joining in future).
Travel / Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant by Oopsy(f): 5:14pm On Jun 15, 2018
Thank you for this. I Appreciate

Eyifunmi:

If you apply as unaccompanying, you would have to sponsor your spouse and wait a minimum of twelve months, which is exhausting and emotionally wrecking.
You would deal with Accra visa office, and go through the stress.
Your application would be treated under spousal sponsorship criteria, and it is no joke.
You might get frustrated along the way, and have to make numerous trips to Nigeria?
Are you ready to Count the cost?
Travel / Re: Canadian Express Entry/Federal Skilled Workers Program- Connect Here Part 4 by Oopsy(f): 3:19pm On Jun 15, 2018
Ok... Thanks dear. But does it affect him applying for visiting visa... So that at least he can visit...

veritas3:

From the little I know, the only seeming advantage may be higher CRS points but the downside is you would still provide POF, Medicals and PCC for the said spouse. You may also be asked the reason why spouse is unaccompanying and all that.

When spouse decides to migrate, you would have to go through the spousal sponsorship route and it take a minimum of one year to conclude that process plus the stress involved.

Not sure rewriting right now is a good option. You cal also send in for EOR on this. Learnt with IDP takes 2 weeks.
I'm sure you'd pull through!

ArabianRose:
second attempt...at this point i am just tired, i don't know what to do.
Listening: 8.0
Reading: 9.0
Writing: 6.5
Speaking: 7.5

PS; i have always maxed out speaking and writing, and remark is 12 weeks? 3 freaking months!!!?

The above was my post- April 6th.

So I took Newmum's advice, to apply for EOR with BC and rewrite, this time around, IDP. Guess what? I think this feels worse. Anyway, LRWS came out as 8.5, 8, 6.5, 8.5. To think I was going for CLB10 sad . BC remark isn't out.. 7weeks now. At this point, I have had it up to my throat sad

you put "by correspondence" in front it..... culled from cic webpage "Applicants are instructed to indicate that their education was completed by correspondence by typing in brackets {by correspondence} on the same line as the education institution name found in the Education Background Information tab of GCMS. The discretion remains with the officer to decide if a police certificate is required for the country of the education institution"

Good day good people, I will appreciate a little assistance.

In creating a profile, under Education, you are asked:
1. Country of Study
2. City/Town of study
3. Full time/Part Time
4. Name of school/institution

What can one fill for the above if he has MBA from a School in UK and it was done online. (WES has evaluated as Masters)

I am asking, to avoid stories that touch WRT UK PCC.

Will appreciate a response (I didn't see it on page zero tongue )
