@Theseeker, its pretty obvious u're one of those ASUU guys agitating for 100% salary increase, or you are a 64year old crunchy professor clamouring for retirement age extension 4rm 65-70. Or maybe ure a father who has his wards in Private universities, cos u dont seem to understand the plight we the students are facing, the Strike option has been overused, the NLC president even confessed to that fact, Must they always go on Strike to before the FG meets their demands? So far Ive experienced 10months (6months makes a session) compulsory holiday due to Strike. Strike has delipitating factor on our growth, psychologically,academically, everywise. Misplaced Priorities is the problem of Nigeria. If i had knwn it was going to last this long i wouldnt have come home with just my school bag. I have to a Job now, atleast to make a gain outta the strike. I nEeD a JoB o.

Its obvious u are out of school, or maybe you went to a Private uni, so u dont understand the frustration, desperation of students, ive been in my Final semester since Oct last year, both ASUU and FG are very stupid, most of their rumblins are 4 their material gains likewise d FG, why cant the FG inject N100b in d education sector, cos Education is not priority of the FG, those dat knw either sends their kids to private of overseas. Imagine the stupid FG/ASUU pausing my career from October last year till now, my colleagues we gained admission same year in the private univ would pass out of Camp soon. So anyway or anyhow they must resume as soon as possible.

House, Im an Accounting student in my final year, ive been in Love in IT for a very long time, i initially wanted to study IT related course but i had No orientation i was supposed to be in science class then. I dont want to practice as an Accountant cos the passion is not there so intend changing my career path to IT, Hope its not too late. I came across the BCS british computer society, one of their programmes ManagementInformationSystems/Business Analyst soothe me, do you suggest i go for it and what is the Job prospects for that course here in Nigeria? Or wat other professional exam do u suggest.

Wow, this tread has really grown, it amazes me now cos when i joined nairaland then 2006 i needed to know wats up with UNADs postjamb result cos it was the 1st they had so i was kinda desperate trying to know wats happening but NOone replied me then. I guess there wasnt much Unadites on this forum now.
But a lot of peoples problem have been solved via this thread. Im at least proud.

We students should realize that the education sector is not a priority to the F.G, they havent got any good intentions, the most painful thing abt the strike is that those useless ASUU members are only fighting for their own selfish interest. Other demands like Retirement age of the V.C, improved Research, nd others have been met except their salary increase which they are clamoring for, its very unfortunate for th F.G not prioritising Education.
And to we the students lets maximize this strike to make something good for ourselves, learn a skill or trade. Knowledge gotten cannot b taken away. Learn something and be good at it, who knows it might be relevant to you 2morrow.
