CrimeParents Sell 3 Of Their Sons For N50,000 Each, Police Recover Eldest. by opera1(op): 7:18pm On Nov 26, 2017
A man from Akwa Ibom State, Magnus Nsikak, 40, has shown himself to be an unworthy stonehearted parent with a twisted mind.Nsikak was alleged to have conspired with his wife, Ruth, 28, to sell their three sons, three-day-old Samuel, five-year-old Ubong and 10-year-old Ekpo in Ikot-Abaji Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, to a trafficker in Aba, Abia State, through a nurse in the city. But Ruth vehemently denied any knowledge of the evil deed, saying that she wasactually deceived by her husband about the true status of the children, who she had been led to believe were being cared for by a memberof their extended family in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital. The couple are now in the custody of the Family Support Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, Akwa Ibom State Police Command, where they are being interrogated. It was earnt from the Commissioner of Police,Mr. Zubairu Muazu, ongoing investigation has yielded a positive result as the eldest son, Ekpo has been recovered while efforts are beingintensified by detectives to track down and recover the other two.
Muazu disclosed that the cookie began to crumble when the younger brother of Ruth became curious about the sudden absence of the children of his sister. He asked the brother-in-law, Magnus, about them and got less-than-satisfactory answer from him. His further probe led to an altercation between them. Magnus later confessed his evil deed. Ruth’s brother was incensed by the horrific thing he heard and a fight broke out between him and Magnus. He was said to have beaten his in-law black and blue.Ruth rushed to the Mkpat Enin Police Stationto file a complaint against her brother on October 23, 2017.In the course of questioning to ascertain the facts, Muazu explained that the truth tumbledout and she was detained. Her husband was also arrested and the case was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Uyo, Akwa State capital, from where the matter was handed over to the Anti-Human Trafficking Section of the SCID on November 2, 2017.
Then November 9, Magnus led detectives to Aba, Abia State, to arrest the nurse, Stella Uchendu, 40, who arranged the illegal deal. She in turn took detectives to the home of Joy Ikechukwu, where Ekpo was recovered.Muazu added that police detectives also arrested another suspect, Eucharia Daniel, who bought the three-day-old baby for N300,000 naira from Uchendu. He said that Uchendu passed on the baby to Joy Ikechukwu, who resold the newborn child to Judith Solomon Charles, for N500,000.Sunday Sun further learnt that on the day that police detectives brought Joy to her home, Judith was said to have slumped in shock. Detectives quickly rushed her to a hospital, where she died.
On what could have led him into the evil deed, Magnus told Sunday Sun that he was beset byadversity. His words: “My first wife and I had six children. She had mental problem and later died. Then I got married to Ruth in 2007 and we had four children. This thing happened when I had financial problem. I sold my three sons and left our daughter, Favour, who is five years old. I sold each of them for N50,000 to Stella Uchendu.
Whenever my wife’s uncle and other people asked me about the children, I always told them that I took the children to people who will help them. Later I confessed tomy wife’s uncle that I had sold the three children. That was when he fought with me and beat me very well before neighbours rescued me. My wife reported to the police.”Magnus who hails from Ikot-Abasi Local Government Area, Akwa-Ibom, added that hiswife knew that he was selling the children. After selling the three-day-old baby, he gave her N20, 000 naira.
The baby which was bought by Judith is yet to be recovered. In her own account, Ruth, the wife, confirmedthat she married Magnus in 2007, but denied any complicity in the sales of the couple’s children. She said: “My husband didn’t tell me that he sold our three sons. I gave birth to four children – three sons and a girl, Favour, who is five years old. My husband only told me that he took the three children to his uncle in Port Harcourt to train them. One day, he dialed a number and gave the phone to me to speak with his sister, who he said was taking care of my three children.I remember that in September, this year, after I gave birth to a baby boy in the church, on a Thursday, my husband took the baby from me on Sunday of that weekend and sold it.
My husband and the nurse deceived me by saying that the baby and I tested positive to HIV and so the baby was taken away. Later my husband gave me N20,000 to eat food and recover from the pregnancy.” She stated. The nurse, Uchendu, in a chat with journalist’s admitted knowing Magnus, who she said was dealing in scraps. She added that Magnus had informed her that he could no longer cater for his three sons and expressedinterest in selling them off. She agreed to buy the three sons.

CrimeKidnapped British Missionary Was Shot Dead For Singing "Amazing Grace" by opera1(op): 1:07pm On Nov 25, 2017
A British optician kidnapped in Nigeria was shot dead after playing “Amazing Grace” on his acoustic guitar, according to his fellow hostages.
Ian Squire 's final moments were described by Christian charity workers David and Shirley Donovan, who were abducted from their accommodation in Delta State in the south of the country in the early hours of October 13.
They were held with Mr Squire, 57, and Alanna Carson as the four were working as missionary medics in west Africa.
Dr Donovan, 57, told how the group's spirits were lifted when the kidnappers returned a guitar and Mr Squire played Amazing Grace.
David and Shirley Donovan, British nationals who were kidnapped in Nigeria. (PA)
He told the Telegraph: "It was the perfect song, and at that point things began to look not quite as bad.
"But then, after Ian finished playing, he stood up, and a salvo of gunshots killed him instantly. We didn't see who did it, but it was obvious that someone in the gang had shot him. It was terrifying to see.

"We jumped out of the shack and into the water as we thought they were coming for us next, but a member of the gang came and put us back in there with Ian for the rest of the day."
During their kidnapping, the group kept their spirits up by playing a version of BBC Radio 4 quiz The Unbelievable Truth, where contestants have to tell fact from fiction, with Mrs Donovan, 58, saying the game was "prosaic but comforting".
The captives were freed after the kidnappers told them a ransom had been paid, and were met by two SUVs, with Mr Donovan saying the smell of the leather and the air conditioning "was like stepping from one world into another".

Capsules. I take only the brands I recommended on my blog post. I tried another garlic brand earlier and didn't get the effect I wanted. Turns out it didn't contain enough allicin.

If you can take raw garlic and don't mind the odour, that's fine. Take 3-4 cloves daily, along with 1000mg Vitamin c capsules or tablets.
Can u please give us the name of the drug and the likely cost?

Governor Fayose appending his signature on the cultism bill
“Any person who gives financial or material support or assistance to a secret cult or in any manner sponsor the activities of a secret cult, commits an offence under this law and is liable or conviction to imprisonment for life” he said.
Fayose made the call while appending his signature to the bill at the government house Ado-Ekiti.
According to him, the signing was a confirmation of the unwavering commitment of the state government to combating terrorism in the state.
However, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi, the governor frowned at the resurgence of the scourge in the state, especially among students in tertiary institutions.
Emphasizing on students full engagement in cultism Fayose opined that anybody who intentionally encouraged secret cult meeting or activities in places such as houses, night clubs, hotels and other residential areas would be convicted to life imprisonment.

CrimeHorror In Libya:i Drank Water Oozing Out Of D Dead In Prison To Survive- Victim by opera1(op):
The 150 Nigerians, predominantly ladies, were yesterday relishing the air of freedom as they made the 300-kilometer journey from Lagos to Benin. The day before, they had escaped from hell in Libya, a country many of them had been deceived would be a staging post from the life of drudgery that they had lived in Nigeria into the Eldorado of their dreams.
The Victim
Libya, however, became a nightmare where innocence was plucked, death turned into a cheap commodity and gnashing of teeth became a daily episode.
The 150 Edo born citizens who returned yesterday joined the previous 169 who were ferried back last Wednesday and the first batch of 87 returnees earlier returned in October. Among those that returned last Wednesday were 23 pregnant women and 13 teenagers.
Among the scares of a brutal life evident among the returnees are signs of skin diseases, gunshots and listlessness reflective of human trauma that has been the lot of virtually all the deportees. The state government through the task force against human trafficking chaired by the state Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General of the state, Prof. Yinka Omorogbe has been working round the clock to redirect the life of the returnees.
the victims
The administration is working in Nigeria in collaboration with the Initiative for Youth Awareness on Migration, Immigration, Development and Reintegration (IYAMIDR) a Non-Governmental Organization led by Comrade Solomon Okoduwa.
The returnees were ferried back upon the intervention of the Edo State government which in collaboration with some international agencies has been helping to identify the victims of trafficking held in various private and government prisons scattered around the bandit country.
For many of the returnees, Italy was their final destination. Some sold their life savings for the journey.
Others not with much to sell entered into bargains with local sponsors in Edo State guaranteeing to ferry them for reward in future.
However, as it turned out, those who sold and paid for their fares to Eldorado in Europe and those who took the sponsorship of local patrons in Edo State almost ended in the same trap in Libya.
In Libya, whatever form of liberty they had was mortgaged as they succumbed to a life of slavery.
Noting the efforts of Governor Godwin Obaseki on the issue, Comrade Okoduwa, explained that ¨the governor has put them on a monthly stipend, those who want to go into trading we will support them. They are going to improve their skills. The teenagers who want to go back to school will go back to school and on scholarship. We want to use them as ambassadors, people who will be discouraging others.”
20-year-old Beauty Okoro who returned last Wednesday is indeed set to be a passionate preacher against such trips to Libya or Italy. Her account of betrayal, forced prostitution, deaths and sexual exploitation even by her father’s Libyan based friend is indeed wrenching.
She said: “I traveled July 4th last year. My sponsor told me that within one week I would be in Italy. But when I got to Libya it was another story. These sponsors always convince you and make it look like it is easy, but I have learnt now. I feel the government should arrest them and execute them. (Weeping).
“These sponsors are here in Edo State, and they have their links in Libya too. It is an organized trade, and I have seen it all at this my little age of 20. When I got to a place they call Ghetto, I was there with one other girl. They sold us to one man so we can be doing prostitution. The next day another woman came to the Ghetto and bought me as her slave. She bought me for N1,700 , and she asked me to pay her N450, 000, that includes my feeding and the water I will be using to bath.
“I called my dad and explained to him that she said my people should send me the money or I will be prostituting to get the money. Then my father sent me N50,000 and pleaded he would sell his land to get me the remaining. The husband of my madam is in Nigeria; my father wanted to sell the land to him so they can help me. But the man said he does not like the location where the land is so he will not buy. I had no choice than to do what my madam said I should do, and that is prostitution.
I was now sleeping with different men. I worked with her for over two months. I was not allowed to go out, and always indoors sleeping with customers.
“I told my dad that I was tired of the situation so he told me he has a friend in Libya that he will contact him to help me. He contacted the man, and the man informed him that he was staying in a different town. The man then told me to ask my madam how he could come to pick me and that he was ready to pay her off.
I asked my madam, and she said the man should bring N300,000. But I reminded her that my dad had already sent me N50,000 meaning that it was a balance of N250,000. But the man (my father’s friend) said he had only N200,000 cash to give to the woman. We pleaded with the woman, and she accepted. The man brought N220,000 including taxi money for me to come over to his place. That was how I left that woman.
“Then when I got to my father’s friend’s house, it was the same job I was doing with the woman, that he said I should be doing. That is prostitution. And my father did not know that his friend had bought me from the woman to do the same kind of sex job. The man said I would pay him N440,000. I had no choice than to work hard and pay.
By December last year I was done with the payment, then started hustling for myself so I could get money to cross the sea for Italy. So, I made about N400,000 and gave the man N300,000 to keep for me.
“Knowing that I now had some money, I decided to go buy some food stuff that I will use to cross the sea. I met the man to give me my money, and he said he would not give me. I told him that that was wicked because he was sleeping with me, and then I still paid him for keeping me in his house yet he was not satisfied.
He started beating me until I fell sick. I called my mum that I want to leave that house. Incidentally, my period was delayed that month, and I told the man that it seemed I was pregnant. He said I should go and do a test but the very day I wanted to go for a test, my period started. Then he started beating me that I had gone to remove the pregnancy but I told him it was not true.
He said he would not leave me that I have gone to destroy his baby and threatened to call the bad boys of Libya for me. I was dying in that house and didn’t know what to do. Then I met one pastor on Facebook and told him my problem.
He said I should buy a white handkerchief and send him the man´s picture. The pastor told me that the man, that is Ade a Yoruba man has taken my urine to a native doctor. I was crying, but the pastor said I should not worry.
We were eight girls in that house with the man, and we all worked for him. He sleeps with all of us, and we still pay him. So, one of the senior girls in the house advised me on what to do. She told me that any time the man is sleeping with me again and that while he is on top of me, I should ask him when he will free me.
She told me that whatever the man says at that moment is what he will do. So when he came to sleep with me, and I asked him when he will free me? He replied that I should not worry that he will free me the next Wednesday.
That day he promised me was July 11. So on that day, he called me gave me a battery to charge my phone and a Nokia phone. That night he told me a taxi would come and pick me up. He said my transport fare is N60,000, that is from there to Tripoli from where we were to leave by sea to Italy.
So this man claimed that he has paid about N210,000 for my transportation including to cross me across the sea to Italy. But I told him that my money is still with him.
Then, I got to the camp. From the camp to Italy is about one hour thirty minutes. We were there suffering no food and no money. I called the man, and he said I should come back to the house. I said I could not go back to him. He was calling me to come back, but I said rather than go back to him, let me die. But the camp was very hot.
Several times we woke up to the sound of gunshots and people will be running. In Libya, they shoot anyhow and kill people like chicken. There was a night I woke up and was running to nowhere. I fell somewhere and injured my head when a block fell on top of me. People saw me and rescued me, took me to a pharmacy and gave me drugs.
One day some people were asked to come and cross over. One of my friends, Anita joined that boat because they move people in batches. But Anita died inside the boat when the boat capsized while they were running from security agents. That day, two boats entered the sea.
I was to be in the sixth boat. One of those boats got stranded in the sea because it was leaking. Some people died while some were rescued. One of the boats before our own left around 5 a.m. that morning. It was not up to 30 minutes after they left, they saw Libyan immigration coming, the man piloting the boat jumped into the sea.
And I discovered that the problem was that the man collected money from us but he did not settle the Libyan immigration officials in the sea. We heard that the man felt his father is influential in Libya, so he refused to settle those officials even though he had collected money from many people to cross them.
They call him Ginabo. So the immigration came, and they knew we were Ginabo´s people, and they started cursing him that Ginabo is a crook, he is a liar that he has collected our money and abandoned us because he refused to settle them.
They were speaking Arabic. These people arrested us and said we should call our people to send us money or else we will be killed. In fact, our men suffered under these people. They will force them to bring money, or they will kill them. They will beat them until some of them will die, and they will throw the person´s body into the dustbin.
How I came back
What happened was that one man said we should pay N20,000. He controls another camp. We were there when the police came to that place and started pursuing everybody. We started running to nowhere.
The man that owns the camp called us to a room and collected all our phones and money. We were about eight girls. The police surrounded everywhere and took us to one prison. That was where the UN people came for us.
They gave us one tiny bread, they call oza bread once a day and sometimes half cooked rice that you cannot give to a dog, but we were managing. Sometimes they will lace the food with drugs, and after eating it you will sleep off on the floor, and they will rape you. But the UN people kept us and started deporting us back.
They sent back some people, but my name was not among. At a point no water, nothing. We have a lot of Nigerians in that prison. From what I saw in prison, we have thousands of Nigerians in different prisons. Each time you wake up you see five persons dead beside you because the place is tight.
Once, when I was very thirsty and no water, but I saw water where somebody died, and I had no choice but to drink the stinking water so I will not die. I closed my eyes and nose to drink the water. These people don´t care (sobbing). In fact, I regret embarking on that journey.
The orientation we got from my sponsor was that Libya and Italy are close. I did not know that the sea is even dangerous as I later discovered. The person that sponsored me did not tell me all these. My advice to people is that they should not dare go to Europe through that means. I saw hell as a 20-year-old girl. I had my SSCE result before I left.
I am begging government to help with any job; I will never pass this route again. And I want to advise our youths not to try it; it is better you work here in Nigeria even though you are suffering here endure it and pray to God for better days. I was not patient in life that was why. Nobody should go to Libya; the place is hell on earth. I saw people die like chicken every day and I wonder if I can get out of the trauma.”
Igbinewo Praise, a 24-year-old lady, traveled with her husband. She is pregnant today, and her husband is still in Libya. She also told her horrible story to Saturday Vanguard.

“I traveled together with my husband, but he is still there now. Before I traveled, I was a sales girl. I am an orphan. My husband and I paid N900,000 to our sponsor to move us. When we got to Libya, I was lucky to be the first they took to move through the sea, but my husband´s set was not ready.
We left, but our boat got spoilt in the middle of the sea. We stayed there without any rescue but the UN boat came and rescued us, but we were arrested. My husband now went to pay N250,000 to release me from prison. Somebody now said we should pay another N150,000 to push me across the sea; my husband paid the money.
But while we were planning to move, their Immigration people came to arrest us and took us to a prison. I spent months in the prison before we were taken to the deportation camp. I was not staying in the same place with my husband, but we see every day. You can imagine I am pregnant but no food. They give you one small bread per day, and you buy water. Water is very expensive there.
My husband will be calling his people to send us money. What they told us before was that in two weeks we would be in Italy, but we never knew it was not like that. We spent seven days in the desert, and it was very hot. You can imagine that when we left Agadez, we were 33 in number but by time we got to a camp in Libya, we have 27 persons alive.
I was lucky I was listed as one of those coming back, but before I left I went to see my husband, he was looking very skinny. He said he was not feeling fine. In fact, he told me that for two weeks he has not had his bath, no food. When I saw my husband, I wept because he now looks like a mad man. Now I don´t even know if he is alive.
I pray that he will be registered so he can come back. Our men are suffering there. They don´t allow them to come back because they use them for slavery, they work for people without pay. Our government should please go and bring them back.

PhonesNigerians To Get 14-Day Grace To Roll Over Unused Data – NCC by opera1(op): 5:59am On Nov 16, 2017
The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, is set to issue a directive to telecommunications operators to give 14 days’ window to subscribers to enable them roll over their unused data.

The Executive Vice Chairman of NCC, Umar Danbatta, said this in a statement on Wednesday in Lagos.

Mr. Danbatta spoke at the NCC Special Day at the just concluded 2017 Lagos International Trade Fair.

The executive vice chairman said that subscribers would be given the 14 days grace, even if they do not renew on the date of expiration of their data.

He said that this would stop the present practice where subscribers would lose the entire unused data if they failed to renew on the date of the expiration of the present subscription.

According to him, NCC recognises that telecommunications services are very important to the nation’s development.

“NCC also recognises more importantly, that the consumers of telecommunications services deserve to get value for their money.

“NCC also recognises that consumer should be treated as a very important stakeholder in the scheme of things as far as service delivery is concerned.

“Let me recall that in the 8-Points Agenda of my administration, the issue of empowerment and protection of the consumer occupied the sixth position.

“The vision in this agenda is to protect consumers from unfair practices through availability of information and education to make informed choices in the use of ICT services.

“The strategy which we have adopted in achieving these agenda is to strengthen initiatives to educate and inform consumers in the use of communications,’’ he said.

Mr. Danbatta said that the commission had adopted the strategy to act swiftly and consistently whenever necessary in the use of enforcement to protect consumers’ rights and privileges.

He said that the regulatory body had put the service providers on special notice about NCC’s present monitoring of users experience and would call them to account in due course.

According to him, where the service providers continue to fail to improve services at the detriment of the consumers, the commission will apply appropriate regulatory actions and sanctions against such service providers.

“We have continued to use the mass media to create awareness about these consumer centric solutions and enlighten consumers that telecommunications masts and towers do not cause health hazards as a lot of people think.

“The commission still maintains that the World Health Organisation (WHO) has affirmed that no result of any such Hazard has been established against base stations.

“Therefore, any individual or community adducing such reasons to deny Right of Way (RoW) to the telecommunications companies, and prevent them from expanding services are invariably contributing to the poor quality of service in the network,” he said.

The quest for quick and easy money has landed a 24 year old salesman in court for stealing and staking N3.5 million in MMM, a ponzi scheme.

The salesman, John Okonkwo, who allegedly stole his employer’s N3.5 million and invested in the Mavrodi Mondial Movement (MMM) scheme, appeared before an Ojo Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.

MMM is a notorious ponzi scheme which promised many Nigerians 30 per cent return on investment but leftf them disappointed and defrauded of their monies.

The accused, is facing a charge of stealing.

Okonkwo, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The prosecutor, Insp. Uche Simon, said that the accused committed the offence at Shop 26, Zone E, Block 2A Aspamda Market, Trade Fair Complex, Lagos between the months of March and October.

He alleged that the accused put the N3.5 million sales proceeds belonging to his employer, Mrs Jane Ekweanua, into Ponzi scheme.

“Okonkwo put sales proceeds into MMM without the consent of his employer.

” It was during auditing that it was discovered that N3.5 million was missing,” he said.

Simon said the offence contravened Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Section 287 prescribes three-year imprisonment for stealing.

Magistrate A. S Okubule granted the accused N500,000 bail with two sureties in like sum.

She said that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and must be gainfully employed.

Okubule adjourned the case until Jan. 23, 2018.

Meanwhile, the notorious ponzi scheme which became well known in 2016, officially announced a restart last week following several attempts to stay afloat arising from its inability to pay those who staked their money.
