Ideas he's not been able to scale at the senior level? Don't act like he's not got other jobs after his u17 triumph. Judge him by that. How did he fare in his subsequent jobs?

I am not against Amuneke and at some point was very pro giving him the job. But we shouldn't shift change the goalpost because of him. By your metric Manu Garba also deserves the job since he won the u17 world cup and had a good system there too.

I asked this question on another thread from those pushing for Amunike. If He is a foreign coach with his CV and record, would they clamour for him to be employed as super eagles coach.? Our indegenous coaches need to be active. Otto Addo was part of the coaching crew at Dortmund, an ex Ghana international, now Ghana Coach.

6th position,

I still dey wonder how them take reach there sef

Armwrestling helped them. They got 41 medals there alone, 8 golds, 19 silvers and 14 bronze..just in arm wrestling alone. It pushed them up.

South Africa withdrew from the tournament at the last minute not sure of their reason.

They withdrew because of the pitch, they said it is substandard.

Nff can’t afford any foreign coach for now..if Dey can ,jp would av been retained.nff itself is confused 🫀

They were offering Peseiro $80k. They can still get a decent one lesser. Chris hughton was even earning $50k when he was black stars coach

Abeg does anyone close to the NFF know why there's sudden silence about the coaching situation? Finidi is supposed to be the interim coach to manage both friendly games, but who are his assistants?

Secondly, the likes of Awoniyi, Gab Osho and from reports Osimhen are currently injured, who are their replacements? Do this NFF idiots realize we have a crucial WCQ in about 90 days time and should take our preparations very very seriously?

According to report on leadership newspaper, the technical committee is convinced that foreign coach is the best for now, they will advise NFF to go with whoever is recommended, about 40 foreign coaches applied. But if Finidi should do well in the friendlies, he has a big chance getting the job

Amunike comes first in the pecking order

Amunike has better experience

Coach local team
Coach African teams
Groomed most of this boys....

So why delay him from taking over

If a foreign coach has the same CV/record of Amuneke, will you clamour for him to lead the super eagles?

Am not impress with this move
Why give finidi George an edge over the others who also applied

Do the interview ... and appoint the new coach now

If Finidi George leads then and they win this NFF will just appoint him but is he the best?

I think he will be good sometimes in the future but for now he is not ripe for super Eagles

With all standard Emmanuel Amunike is ahead of him for now.

At best appoint Amunike and let Finidi George assist

You are only looking at it in one direction. What if he fails to win the friendlies? He will be at disadvantage to get the eagles job.

Seems NFF will settle for local coach. Most dailies are reporting that only 12 applied and are mostly ex internationals. But owngoal reported 115 application received.

not sure why they will do that. The last time they opened the position to the public was when they wanted to sign rohr. They didn't do such during jpes's hire.

They did. Peseiro was shortlisted with Laurent Blanc, Phillip Cocu and Ernesto Valverde.

However, we are talking of being trained and exposed to modern coaching methods. You guys only think result. Also think of philosophy. Also, qualifications too. Amunike has a Masters in coaching.

The cry is about playing a particular brand of football. Not just coaching.

Must he only practice the modern coaching and his philosophy with super eagles? NFF should allow whoever who is interested to apply and pick on merit.

It will be like rohr time. When he does rubbish we will not need able to fire him. The contract will say we must pay forb6 months if we fire him.
He has no passion for us and looks down on us. He will not improve the midfield. Uzoho is his choice if nwabili gets injured.
I say it again He is average. Amunike or someone else will do a better job. We are too poor to bankrupt ourselves.
He is only there because some people want to collect part of his salary as per corruption levels.
It's like buying a second hand cR for the price of a new car.
He is a big waste of money

Am not really okay with this Amunike talk taking over, his CV is very poor, what makes him qualify for the job also makes Manu Garba, even Fanny Amun qualify...U17 glory..

Go and get a bottle of coke 🍾with a smile , you are getting agitated and all fired up with rage 😑😑.

But why πŸ€”

It really depends on what unit of measurement will you use to decide world class. For me it's one word CONSISTENCY over time.

When I say Kane, Lewondoski, Mbappe, Ronaldo, Haaland, Salah, Messi, Lukaku, are WORLD 🌎 CLASS what you will notice is CONSISTENCY. These players have been at the top of the goal scoring charts for some over a decade.

VO is an absolute excellent player in what he does with a unique skill set. However, last season 2022/23 after three seasons in Seria A he was the golden boot winner. He did not do that in the Belgium, Bundesliga and French league one.

Now that he has achieved this outstanding accolade the real test is to do it again or at least stay in the top 5. To prove the consistency of world class top quality,it has to be done , in this season and the coming seasons.

Without prejudice I would not call him world 🌎 class yet. He is getting there but has not arrived. Unfortunately this season if he can get to the top 5 that would be outstanding to prove he is truly world class.

Would you call call Martinez, Dusan Vlahovic, Giroud world class ❓

The information here is incomplete. Osimhen scored a total of 20 goals for Charleroi in 36 appearances. 12 in regular league season, 7 goals in playoff and 1 in Belgian cup.

Ghana FA threw the application open and Peseiro ain't among the 600 that applied. GFA may likely name new coach this week.

Yes history will repeat itself.

Also it's not a new thing for a host country to lose a final. We did at year 2000 losing to Cameroon in Lagos.

Remember u17 worldcup we hosted in 2009, dem Sanni Emmanuel/Sarki nd co. Switzerland beat us at Teslim Balogun.

At club level, Bayern lost UCL to Chelsea on home soil etc.

In 1982, Libya hosted the tournament and lost in the final to Ghana. Same Ghana defeated Tunisia, the host country in the final of 1965 edition

Ghana planning to appoint Mauritania coach Amir Abdou. I was thinking NFF can get him since Peseiro not not likely continue. He brought Comoros to last AFCON and even eliminated Ghana. Presently on $35,000 a month, Ghana FA planning to offer $45,000

Super Eagles still the highest ranked among the four semi finalist.

GROUP STAGE POINTS

Nigeria 7pts
South Africa 4pts
Ivory coast 3 points
Congo 3 points.

Nigeria remains the only team among the four that won round of 16 or/and quarter final matches in regulation time. The cup is ours..

We are struggling to score. Lowest scoring side in the tourney at this stage.

Maybe the level of the competition has improved. We are still not bad. Out of the last four teams, SE has 6 goals. Congo 6, South Africa 6 ( scored in 2 of their 5 matches), Ivory coast has 5 goals so far. These teams are all in semi finals.
Even at 2019 AFCON, we only scored 7 goals at semi final stage, and conceded 5.

Your selection will see us get whipped, Violated and mashed up. Starting from the defence:

This is athletic power football ⚽ Omeruo ( expired drug) will get overpowered, outpaced ( slow) and out jumped and bullied. I remember how he got destroyed by Cameroon the last time.

CB's have to be Ekong and Bassey ( Afang with pounded yam) eee no get contest. Aina is deceptively fast and strong with football intelligence and arguably the best passing and crossing range in the entire SE team, that's both left and right feet. Zaidu all brawn and no brains I'll play Aina LB and Osayi RB.

Alhassan be like fowl that breeze go carry go. He has no physicality and poor stamina and not enough inventive creative technicality, add to that he is short no aerial ability it's over against Cameroon with tall midfielders a big liability.

Raphael is a very strong immobile brick 🧱 wall that has zero creativity, Onyeka is much more mobile they offer very little inventiveness and creativity they are both water πŸ’¦ carriers but the best is Frank ( great stamina)

Forwards only two choices without question Ademola and VO, who should play wing Simon or Chukwueze, I don't know both have different issues and they can't cross consistently with quality. Poor end product.

Midfield has to be Iwobi (AM) plus Aribo and Onyeka with a bit more creativity coming from Aribo.

It's going to be a long hard day , Cameroon are fired up .

Aina you are praising here was at fault with one of the two goals scored by the Cameroonians.

The Ghanaian prophet that accurately predicted Ghana's opening match result and their early exit had predicted before afcon also that an unexpected team will win the afcon, and that it will be an afcon of surprises. And it's looking like it ladies and gentlemen

Not same prophet. It was Rev Ogya that said Ghana won't make it out of group stage. It was a guess work, according to him, Egypt will defeat Ghana and kudus will be disgraced in the encounter. Kudus went to score two goals and the game ended in draw. Gaisie prophecied unexpected country will win AFCON. Gaisie in Ghana is like our Nigeria Primate Ayodele.lol
