Being a politician doesn't make the person less a human or means the person lacks knowledge in different fields, including sport.
Tunji Ojo is a politician but what he has done in the ministry of interior, alot of private "technocrats" can't achieve half in their fields.
Shaibu as a politician and deputy governor of Edo State headed Bendel insurance and Edo Queens management and he did wonders. Bringing Insurance from relegation, almost wining the NPFL and qualifying insurance and Edo Queens to Caf competitions and also helping Edo State do well at the National Sport festival. Not just winning, he totally revamped Bendel insurance and in the street of Benin today, you will always still see insurance jerseys everywhere. With his knowledge in finance as an accountant and governance as a deputy governor and sport lover, he will do far better than some ex internationals and private individuals.
I will personally find nothing wrong if a politician like Philip Shaibu becomes NFF president. He is already revamping the maribound NIS

Osimhen's release clause was €75M, and he was earning a €10M salary at Napoli then, so any interested team could have easily matched that. It was Galatasaray who raised the wages, offered €15M plus €6M to compete with the €40M salary being offered by Saudi club.
If there was no serious interest from the big teams last summer, when Osimhen was cheaper and younger, I doubt any will come now, when buying him from Galatasaray would be even more expensive.

With fuel subsidy whether to remove or leave it puts the Country btw the devil and the deep blue sea..

As Atiku suggested, the FG can subsidise cost of crude oil to Dangote/local refineries to ensure Nigerians buy fuel at reduced prices.. Sounds a fair argument to me

But the Question people have been asking is - CAN THIS BE SUSTAINABLE? Given the corrupt-prone nature of oil industry players.

The government has no problem with Dikko. He heads the NSC and functions like a sports minister. In fact, he is being directly used by the government in this NFF saga.

APC has not won any election in Osun and Alimosho ever since Aregbesola fell out with Tinubu and the APC. In the 2023 elections, he worked with LP and contributed towards Tinubu losing Lagos. In the gubernatorial election, Jide Sanwo-olu had to personally beg him. Tinubu destroyed the APC in Osun just to continue to make his cousin, Oyetola, have his way. It was Oyetola's uncontrolled high-handedness that still destroyed the party in the just concluded elections. Continue to bark at the wrong tree. Aregbe may not have won but he didn't lose either. He is not a coward. The disgrace suffered by Tinubu in Lagos and Osun in 2023 and now Osun in 2026 is co-sponsored by Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola alias Baba Kabiru.

This is Adeleke's defending Tinubu of not aware of the Federal mighty being used against him by osun APC.

Any vote that Tinubu fails to get in the Southwest is a plus for the opposition. We also know Tinubu encouraged Kwankwaso to run in Kano in 2023, and even now, because he knows any votes gotten by Kwankwaso is a vote that could have otherwise gone to Atiku. Tinubu is not the only strategic politician in the country. The coalition is very much intact, just in a different form. The much touted in-road that APC claims Tinubu has made in the SS and SE is a mirage. He remains unpopular in these places even if the people manage to vote the newly defected governors under the APC.

Aforesaid, those who voted against Tinubu and the Muslim-Muslim ticket in 2023 may still not vote for him in 2027 in the SW. Makinde is on the ballot now to get his own share of the dissenting votes which will reduce Atiku's vote.

By now, Tinubu should have long had the entire South in the kitty while working on getting votes elsewhere. Instead, the data shows that even the Southwest will be a hurdle. Even if he solves the Adeleke debacle, Seyi Makinde is still waiting in front. The APC had to induce voters with up to 50k per vote and it still couldn't do the magic in Osun. Lagos will aways get split due to its cosmopolitan nature. Other regions are watching. They won't neglect their own "sons" this time just to carry an ungrateful man that can't even win his own state, let alone region, decisively.

Seyi would have hurt Tinubu if he had run as Atiku’s running mate. He has taken over half of the structure that delivered 183,000 votes to Atiku in Oyo state in 2023. The remaining half is with Gbolarumi’s faction of Wike's PDP.
That is how bad having Seyi on the ballot for the opposition.

Former Super Eagles Eagles Coach, Clemens Westerhof has appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Nigerians for a switch of the house allocated to him in a remote area of Gwagwalada, near Kuje, within the Federal Capital Territory, to a safer place.

In an open letter to the president, the Dutch coach recalled how 30 years ago, he shared a dream. “Together, we built a football team that united a nation, inspired a continent, and made history. In 1994, we lifted Nigeria’s first Africa Cup of Nations trophy and qualified the Super Eagles for their first FIFA World Cup. Those achievements were never mine alone—they belonged to every Nigerian.

“Although I was born in the Netherlands, Nigeria became my second home. The love, kindness, and support I received from the Nigerian people remain among the greatest blessings of my life. I will always be grateful for the privilege of serving such a proud football nation.

“In recognition of those achievements, the Federal Government of Nigeria graciously allocated a house to my family in 2019. My wife and I accepted this honour with deep gratitude. To us, it represented far more than a building; it was a lasting symbol of the friendship between Nigeria and a coach who gave his heart to the country,” Westerhof recalled.

Sadly however, Westerhof and his family have not been able to enjoy this generous gift because the house is located in a remote area of Gwagwalada, near Kuje, within the Federal Capital Territory, and with the prevailing security concerns, including the risk of kidnapping, the Dutchman was strongly advised that it is unsafe to live there or even visit whenever he travelled to Nigeria.

“This has been heartbreaking for us. We are not asking for luxury or special treatment. We are simply asking that the honour already given to us can be enjoyed safely.

“Over the past year, we have respectfully approached the appropriate authorities. We met with the former Honourable Minister of Housing and Urban Development in Abuja and later submitted a formal appeal to the current Honourable Minister, requesting that the allocation be relocated to a safer area within Abuja. We have patiently awaited a response.

“Today, I respectfully appeal to Your Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and to the Nigerian people.

I ask only for your understanding and your compassion. A national honour should be one that can be enjoyed without fear. I sincerely hope that the Federal Government will consider relocating the allocated house to a safer part of Abuja so that my family and I can finally receive this gift in the spirit in which it was intended,” Westerhof said.
The octogenarian opined that Nigeria has given him memories that he will cherish forever, just as he stated that the affection of the Nigerian people has never faded, and neither has his affection for Nigeria.

“I remain proud to have worn the green and white with honour. I remain proud of every player, every supporter, and every Nigerian who believed in us.

Your Excellency, I humbly ask for your kind intervention so that this matter may be resolved. It would mean more to my family than words can express, and it would reaffirm the enduring bond between Nigeria and one of its grateful former coaches,” he appealed.

You grossly underestimate the unpopularity of Tinubu. Relying on governors who themselves are relying on federal might is not a proven political strategy. It is Tinubu's records that will be on the ballot in the presidential elections come 2027. Momentum will decide the outcome of the election, and as today, momentum is not on the side of the APC. Adeleke campaigning for Tinubu on the premise of "he is our son" will only alienate voters in other regions of the country who also have "sons" in the race.

But which election has Tinubu’s APC lost of late that made you write them off for 2027? The Osun election against an incumbent? Adeleke has always been a strong politician.
Aregbe was a sitting governor when Adeleke defeated his candidate twice. Ain't that the same Aregbe that ADC is now relying on to deliver the SW votes for them?

He lost in Lagos that he governed for 8 years. Lost in Osun his ancestral state and just got resisted and rejected again by the people of Osun for the second time. He's now begging Adeleke for a truce. The North made Tinubu president in 2023. He has Elrufai to thank for that but guess how he repaid Elrufai?

There was a reason why securing 25% of the votes in 24 states was a requirement. Let’s see if the North alone will make Atiku president in 2027.

The president of the largest country in Africa needs an alignment with the governor of his ancestral state in his own state of origin in order to win an election. My question is, if its that bad in Osun, what sort of miracle is Tinubu expecting in the North and the other parts of the South? Can the people of other regions love Tinubu more than he is loved at home? Don't forget that he only won 4 Yoruba states out of 17 Southern states in 2023. Is he also going to eventually beg Seyi Makinde for an alignment in Oyo or he will continue to grandstand?

So, why did people from the “other” region vote for GEJ and abandon their own son, Atiku? Remember, Tinubu has never lost an election, his system may be working for him, who knows?
Buhari won most of the northern states, but he never became president until he secured substantial votes from the SW.
