Do somethings to build your resume as well, it will go a long way. As regards skill set, I am a software engineer and data science isn't a bad field either, just that you will have to look beyond this country for remote job openings...

You can start with internships if full-time job will be difficult to get.

I haven't seen any company that tag their job advert as start up, it is after interview that you will know what's up... This one even looks complicated as the advert was posted with what I will term as parent company name..

It's a dicey situation. Startups are dicey. They usually ask for more than one could afford to give. But better pay is very essential at times like this.

Since you have 2 days remote (referring to d startup), try to keep one of your existing remote job for now. It's gonna be challenging but keep it for two or three months to see how things are going with this startup.

Let me start by saying that we cannot grow and advance in life without taking some form of risk.
However we must carefully consider the risk involved so that we do not end up losing what we already have.( Although we can always fail and get back up again.)
The options you are considering are the stability and realibility of your current positions and the enhanced financial renumeration but unpredictable nature of the other position.
Most Startups end up going bust within 3 to 5 years from the date of commencement. While those that survive end up thriving and doing very well and if you are well positioned in the start-up,you may very well set up yourself nicely for life.

My advice would therefore be for you to research the business and the industry that the start-up is engaged in. Also the products and services they offering that makes them unique in the market and who are the competition.
Also research how other companies in the same industry have fared over time.

However my experience about businesses and companies is that it is often the people behind the business that determines the success or otherwise of the company. So you must objectively consider who the founders of this start-up are. Are they men and women of integrity and resilience. Do they have the capability to build and grow the company. Their perdigree and history? Are they bankable?
If you can trust the quality of the founders and you can see yourself safely throwing your lot with them for the long run then you should seriously consider taking a chance with them.

But you must be well positioned. Stock options and share holding maybe added bonuses to ensure that their success is your success. They should know the value that you are bringing in and the risk that you are taking going with them.

Wow... So much to learn from this sir... I am following this immediately... I will go and research on the company’s management team.

One thing I noticed is that: there is another company in operation that the same management team owns and according to information that I have now, that company is doing well.

But I think I will try to manage the jobs together since they are all remote kind of... Just to give me time to understand their goals better... There are things I can't see from a distance except I move closer.

What happened is: the management of this new company placed the Job advert with a more popular company on LinkedIn which I suspect they own as well. It was after successful interviews, that I was told it's a start up and I won't really be working with the company I thought earlier..

Don't be deceived by the good offering of the new job, the company is yet to understand the intricacies of market forces that wil make them take a decision that will affect you at the long run, stick to the old job while looking for a stable and establish company, am talking base on experience, am yet to recover from the start up I had a good pay and good position till an unforeseen circumstances made us lost the job, am trying to recover from it, be careful.
