hi folalekan, did u apply using hotel reservation? If so did u make a paid reservation wit d hotel or just ordinary reservation without any payment cos i've been reading here that now they only consida paid reservation.

folalekan: Dont be swayed by such belief that the processing is faster/easier in abuja than lagos,i gathered all the requirements personally thru this forum (no agent,no special payment),i submited for permit at lagos embassy on 15th Nov and went to pik it 30th Nov (d processing time is actually now 1week at lag embassy),confirmed in mine case and all 8 other applicants i know.

I submitted my application on 23rd in lagos and up till now i have not received any acknowledgement. Those people are sick. But i tracked it online which indicated its been received and under assesment. So if any1 didnt get any sms for updates on application status, try track it online with your application reference number on ur receitp

collinsfbi: Since you did not attach that before submission, there is nothing you can do now but it won't lead to denial, the purpose of that is to show legitimacy of your employment with a registered company. I just hope the person in charge of your application will understand looking at other attached documents and i do hope your monthly salary reflect on your statement of account?

@collinsfbi, i submitted all the listed documents except for my employer certificate of biz registration. I enclosed letter of introduction frm my employer, photocopy of appointment letter, photocopy of appointment confirmation,photocopy of approval of leave letter frm employer, self introductory letter,photocopy of I.D card, vaccination card, hotel reservation, flight booking,statement of account. .

topsyking: It doesn't matter..just to show..d one I use for mine..expire after 3days..and my applicatn use 3week..n I got my visa..but different country sha..I still tink it just formalities

@collinsfbi and others. I made a flight reservation with south africa airways against 10Dec departure. However In my reservation confirmation it states that 'your reservation wil be held until 25 Nov 2012..
The clause now is i want to submit my application tomorow and i assume hope they wont consider it invalid since S.A.A might av cancelled d reservation by d time the embassy would confirm. Pls let me learn cos i cant afford to be denied on little thing.

@collinsfbi, i been making arrangements to get a medical appointment at a south african hospital wit da help of a friend in S.A. He was askd to come back on Tuesday for the medical appointment confamation against 3rd wk of Novemba. Once i'm able to get dat, do u confirm i'l be able to submit my visa application at anytime and day i wish to? Cos am confused at the advice u gave this man to aply thru medical and u said even at that he cant submit soon than he thinks. Has d procedure changed again for d case of medical visa application?cos i wana apply immediately i get the appointment confamation.

As long as you can convince the embassy of your return and sufficient fund for your trip but using your aunty's account is a great disadvantage as you are already above 18years.

You will be granted visa under medical but you must be able to show little fund in your own account even if your aunty will sponsor you claiming you are not working and she is ready to take responsibility for your trip and medical bill. Your aunty must support your application with letter of support/sponsor (in her company letter head) stating your relationship, your health status and taking responsibility for your trip and bill supported with her bank statement of account, copy of her passport/ID, tax clearance if possible,CAC of her company, letter from your medical practitioner stating your health status/support for medical attention abroad, confirmation of appointment with SA clinic/hospital/medical practitioner. if you can't do that then let your aunty make fund available in your account but not lump sum even at that you won't be able to submit your application as early as you may want to.

Many thanks the great collinsfbi. Thank u for the links but unfortunately I dont undastand why all the hospitals i emailed seem to provide wrong emails as all were returned to me as 'mailer deamon'. Infact i want u to note that prior requesting for suggestions frm u i searched and emailed over 12 diffrent hospitals inclusive of Johanesburg hosp, life baecon bay hosp, life st .George hosp.etc but they all failed to deliver. Now same is happening afta going thru emails of hospitals frm d link provided. Thx and av a relaxing sunday.

collinsfbi: Am sorry, i have been busy somehow, go this site; http://www.netcare.co.za/live/netcare_index.php select a location of your residence/intended stay, then select a hospital/clinic, contact then through their email addresses to scheduling appointment for treatment. Print their approval to your request and add to the letter from your doctor to support your application. Mind you, this does not affect your normal hotel booking but just make your hotel booking same location with hospital to be selected.

Ok but i visited malaysia b4 and dnt wana reapply there. I chose Southie cos I can be ok a bit there for d lil stay but dnt knw how it goes in turkey or dubai. Ok how easy is it to get any of the two country visas? The procedures and d duration it takes to process if i av my documents ready now.thank u.

collinsfbi: Sorry for replying late but you will need to present two documents to support your application for medical. First, get a letter from your doctor address to South African Embassy stating the condition of your health and their support for travel to South African for proper and advance treatment. Secondly, contact any registered and recognized clinic/medical centre in South Africa through email or any with electronic appointment schedule system, fix a date with them and print out your the confirmation of your appointment or their approval to your mail to support your application. With these documents, you can go to South African application centre any day any time for submission. Just tell the men at the gate that you are submitting for medical and show them the two docs, they will allow you in and most importantly applications for medical are not normally denied except if you don't have sufficient fund in your account.

collinsfbi: From your list of docs i can't see your hotel booking or letter of invitation but i will advise you to include a paid hotel booking this time and pls note; South African Embassy consider some vaccination cards invalid most especially cards with old date (e.g 1969) compare to some with 20XX date. If you can't endure the appointment date issue for submission, apply through medical.

Those VO's are real crazy wit their unjustifiable stringent rules. Must every applicant be married before eligible for visas?same happened to me last month i went for interview...even genuine single non immigrant applicants. Its a shame! Best wishes on reapplication if u so wish.

Ok sir. Yea my initial application was on 17 Dec 2011 and was made to realize processing time was btw 6-10working days to get ready but unfortunately got my passport back on feb 13,2012 wit a refusal based on 'invalid vaccination card'(yellow card got tru som1 though)
I applied as the MD/CEO of a biz enterprise. And I submitted photocopies of d biz reg wit CAC, letter of introduction and indicating my purpose of
Visit, I.D card, personal statement of a/c, photocopies of previous visas.

I reapplied feb 28 and got d vaccine card frm local govt health centre but i had to withdraw my application in toward d end of may because i exhausted my patience wen it wasnt treated in time n needed to use my passport for other purposes...now i wanna reapply but d appointment wait time is nothing to write home about.

collinsfbi: Even if you were denied ten times, you are still considered as applicant with no traveling record. To be sincere with you, you are still a first time applicant/traveler. Can you share briefly some of the experiences of your previous application all together with the documents submitted?

I have applied for S.A Visa twice in Lagos. One in February but refused and another in March but withdrew my application in June cos they failed to treat my application in time and cudnt wait for long. Yes, you can't submit today. They don't attend to first time travelers today, only Thursdays and Fridays.

You need go book first and you will be given a number..

For submission, go Thursdays or Fridays if you are a first time traveler.
