Hmmm it wasnt really a gud day for me. I was interviewed by da guy in da 1st cubicle near da entry/exit door. I wished i was interviewed by da guy at the last end as he approved literally all his interviewee's visa while i was there. I was denied on family tie issue. I wasnt married. Anyway I hope to reapply by late Nov. as married by then. And how much did u get the date for?

ayobj: I wish to share my own interview experience for the benefit of all.
I got an appointment through a tout at walter carrington for the 26th of september,2012.
We left home at 5am for a 9:30am appointment.
We got to the embassy before 8am.
Me and my wife were the applicants.

Outside the embassy were various sorts of people;hangers on,hustlers,drivers,applicants,visa agents.
One visa agent said he could arrange a USA visa for someone ,non appearance fee-1 million naira.
We were finally called in some minutes to 10am.
Line was long and ardous.I had not eaten.
Bought an apple and grabbed a bite.
Finally,we made it inside the consulate.
Submitted our passport and our receipts at window 11.
Later,we were thumprinted.
Window 1 was vicious,denied a lot of people.
Window 2 was great,noticed he gave some well dressed women with no travel experience except dubai.
Finally,we got to seen the visa officer at window 7
I have been to the US one(short stay B1/B2 visa) and the UK 3ce.My wife had been to the UK only once.

VO:facing my wife,have you ever been to the US.
Mama:No!
VO: you were at the conference last year,is it the same conference.
Me:yes!
Wanted to give him a letter of invitation.he said no!
V0:how many days did you stay?
Me: 12 days.

Hi Nairalanders, this is a quick note to thank u all for ur numerous advice towards securing u.s visa succesfully even though i attended my interview today and was refused visa.
The consular officer asked da following questions:
Q: why are u going to the u.s.a
A: i'm going for pleasure, tourism and sightseeing.
Q:Where are you going in the U.S?
A: i answered
Q: have u travelled outside Nigeria b4?
A: Yes I've been to .....
Q: where do u work?
A: Bleep Nigeria Ltd as project manager
Q: are u married?
A: am nt yet married but am engaged and soon to get married.

Am sorry u do not meet the requirements for the visa.

I'm using hotel reservation and Like 700k in account and 120k as monthly salary.
N,b and I got a business conference and expo ticket to hold here in nigeria 2 wks after my supposed tour term as attendee to represent the enterprise i work with. I guess that'l help too and such wud be indicated in the introductn letter. Or whats ur take on that too? Cos am trying see to get paperwork done properly b4 interview. Thx

Thanks Vicjustice , I was refused in 2008 during when the BHC had not introduced the 10year ban on doubtful documents. The ban came into effect in 2009 while I was refused in 2008. Does that mean that I have been affected despite that I was refused before the introduction of the ban? Please let me learn. Thx

Vicjustice: You had the chance when you applied for the visa, I mean, you could have asked them when you were being handed the refusal letter. Now, you can't have that opportunity except when you apply for the visa again. But like I explained, you know the answer yourself

Can I arrange a back up letter of consent and recomendatiön frm my fiancee though we are not planning any wedding for now. I have a 2week travel experience to a part of asia last year. Vicjustice: Unless you specifically ask them, Visa Officers are not obliged to tell you whether you are banned or not: If your visa application was refused, and the reason (or part of the reasons) is on the basis of deceitful attempt etc, then, you are under a ban 100%.
Don't be deceived by the "rights of appeal" you would still be given that right due to the category of visa that you applied for: but nothing can over-turn a ban unless the embassy was wrong in misjudging your documents to be fake etc.Well, should know by yourself whether you were caught with deceit

Please nairalanders? How do one get to sure and know if one has been placed under the 10 years ban? I need to know as it was never mentioned in previous refusal notes and indeed was given the right to appeal but gotta be sure, thanks

May I thank u for d last advice u gave, i've been able to replace the DS 160 code wit a new one with the date unaffected. But NOW I wanna ask one more question which i hope u sure'l be able to tell exactly. The questn is= After updating my profile wit the new code, i wish and tried to see if i could reschedule my interview date by bringing it earlier than it is. I clicked on 'reschedule appointment' hoping it'l bring up d appointment calender and choose a new date earlier dan date i currently have .but the system notified I nid to cancel d current appointment before i can reschedule. But wat i feared was if i cancel at that stage, i might nt get a date until anoda 3months and mite av to start counting months again as my current interview date was booked since May. Imagine! Now i av my appointment for early october, and i wish if its possible to get anoda date for say early or mid september if i cancel and reschedule without giving me a far date dan wat i already have. Thx.
