Hi Fastlink, one last question here, i applied last time as a tourist using hotel reservation. Now am thinking of maybe applyin as a visitor whereby i request my cousin to send me invitation letter so i can spend Easter wit his family...i want to ask if i need any other documents frm him aside the invitation letter.please list d documents i might need and also may i ask if he could scan d documents . Are scanned documents acceptable?
FAST-LINK:
Then apply as a single(bachelor) that you are, grin and for your newly established business cool business trip is giving priority when you are coming from a well known organisation.

In this case, apply as a tourist,be honest and pray, your luck might just shine.
cheers!

hi nairalanders, pls wich application post is advisable to apply for s.a visa now in order to get application result in timely manner? Abuja or lagos? Cos lagos is takin much longer time to process visa application but dnt knw as for abuja
TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa by opsy4real1:
fastlink, am actualy not married ,I'l only claim so but now wish to apply for easter holiday and in that case would it be logical to say ma wife is heavy already as pregnant women are conditioned to travel. And as for d suggested business trip, d business is just 2 months old, wud it make sense to apply to go for a biz trip? And so also is it conference dats advisable to visit through? . Pls guide me right
FAST-LINK:
@opsy4real1
That's cool but applying with your wife would boost your chances unless you are going on a business trip, it's not logical for a married man to embark on such sightseeing trip without the company of his wife/family. Like they say, it takes two to tango! smiley

In my own way of thinking i suppose am considerably improved. Now I'm self employed against my previous application as at when i was an employee. .secondly my travel history now has improved to 3 countries against 1 travel history as at my previous application and thirdly my marital status i'l now change to married against the engaged that i filled for in my previous application. quote author=FAST-LINK]

Hi, if it is because you told the VO that you'd be getting married by January, no problem, some times, things don't really go the way we planned it, hence that shouldn't be a problem at all, however, you are not likely gonna be interviewed by the same person.

on your chances, what was the reason for the refusal, has the situation improved?[/quote]
TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa by opsy4real1: 8:29pm On Feb 18, 2013
@ fastlink, this was how my previous interview went and u can adjudicate it .
opsy4real1: Hi Nairalanders, this is a quick note to thank u all for ur numerous advice towards securing u.s visa succesfully even though i attended my interview today and was refused visa.
The consular officer asked da following questions:
Q: why are u going to the u.s.a
A: i'm going for pleasure, tourism and sightseeing.
Q:Where are you going in the U.S?
A: i answered
Q: have u travelled outside Nigeria b4?
A: Yes I've been to .....
Q: where do u work?
A: Bleep Nigeria Ltd
Q:whats ur position in da company?
A: Finance officer
Q: are u married?
A: am nt yet married but am engaged and soon to get married.

V.O:Am sorry u do not meet the requirements for the visa.
That was how it went.
*so what can u all say to that and ur opinions? Thank u

anybody here applied for s.a visa lately and got result in time? Pls tell
TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa by opsy4real1: 12:10pm On Feb 18, 2013
hi fastlink, am here again...i was da one who was adviced how to do it regads marital status in my last appearance at u.s embassy in sept 2012 but did it my own way. I was denied last sept on d ground that i had no compelling ties to return to nigeria at da end of my planned tour even though I was an employee at a company but i claimed 'engaged' in my marital status though i was adviced b4 goin for interview to claim 'married'. Now i have anoda appointment wit d u.s embasy by march 6 to apply to spend my easter holiday in u.s.. Now here are ways my circumstance have changed: 1) In my previous application, i was an employee as a finance officer but now i av a business duly registered wit corporate affair commision and my new position as the managing director.
2) I had one travel history(malaysia) as at my last application but now i have 2 additional travel history(dubai and south africa)
3) in my marital status, i claimed to be 'engaged' but now i'l claim to be 'married' though am unmarried yet but i remember i told d visa officer that interviewd me that i was nt married but gettin married by jan 2013. I do hope now i stand a bright chance. Thank u and i wait to read ur opinion
TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa by opsy4real1: 6:13am On Feb 17, 2013
thank u galala... I still need more light and advice how i should go abt it. Maybe i shuld apply as for easter holiday.
galala123: With US visa, you never know, but when I was there for interview last month some peeps were not given on the ground that their business is still too new. The VO said something like, grow your business, get more years experience in your business and get it deeply rooted then come back. Coz they may ask you "and how long have you been in this line of business?" (If your answer is 2 months, it may not sound too well oh)
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by opsy4real1: 11:54am On Feb 13, 2013
is it taking longer time now to process visa application at south africa embassy?
TravelRe: Usa Visit Visa by opsy4real1: 10:08am On Feb 12, 2013
thank you very much for that light...so pls what website can i get conference listing and invitation from. Thank you.
optimus-prime1:
@opsy4real1; Its still B1/B2 Visa category you'd be applying for since you are going for a conference.
Your initial denial was not because of the Visa category you applied for, or will have nothing to do with your present application provided your personal data remains consistent- each application is treated based on its own merit.
Just Clearly indicate the change in your circumstance on the DS-160 i.e that you are a company CEO and other factors that may have changed like your income etc from your previous application.
But be sure to carry the documents that support your claims- company profile, your personal Bank statements etc.
Goodluck.

Hi Collins&others, may i begin by saying a big thank u all once again for ur meaningful guidance which indeed helped in securing 3month visit visa in December. Now my question is I got d 3month visa issued on the 12th December,2012 to expire on 12 March,2013. I didnt travel to south africa until 29th january and plans to return home on the 27th february...however permitted entry stay until 2nd march by immigration. Now i wish to go back home and come on anoda visit to south africa afta one month by which time my 3month visa wud av expired. I want to ask what i can do if i can get extension here and i can come back or i reapply for anoda fresh visa frm nigeria. Also, if its reapplication what is d duration of d visa i can get if its 1yr multiple entry..pls i need ur light.

Secondly, my cousin sister wishes to apply for south africa visa to spend easter vacation wit her 2 kids there. She's gainfully employed and she's sponsoring her self and kids and wud be staying in hotel.her husband is based in Ghana. So what can she do since she intends to apply wit her kids. Thank u.

Now i av a biz registered wit corporate affairs commision though its 2months old now and am the owner and director of d company. .also as at my previous refusal, i av a single travel history(malaysia) but now i have south africa, dubai and zimbabwe added to my travel history . tzetzefly: Do you have a Dubai Visa?
If yes, then buy a confirmed ticket with SouthAfrican airways routing your trip through SA as your first stop. And also book same ticket to Dubai as your next destination.
Add this itinerary to your application to the SA Embassy/High Commission with your proof of substinence while on this journey.

This ticket can be done by travel agents since you can't handle it urself....
I already hold South African visa and south africa is my final destination while i first stop over at Dubai but i dont currently have dubai transit visa. my agitation is how do i go about it so i can av a 2 days stop at Dubai before proceeding to S.A
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by opsy4real1: 4:36pm On Jan 04, 2013

youngbilly1: I gave him my passport in expectation to get the visa in it, he said he was gonna get a the 1yr visa from ghana and at the moment my passport is in ghana, we spoke today, he said my other friends visa is out because we were two who did together.
hmmm thats unfortunate and btw collins said da whole truth cos da implication of this could be grievous. my advice for yu is to believe the money is gone and find a way to just retrieve ur passport frm him and making him realize ure nt intested again but shouldn worry about d money cos u may likely nt get ur paspot again as he mite be playin u till jesus come.but u may follow yur mind if yu feel not pleased with peoples candid advice. up to you.

youngbilly1: Pls help me, i was given option from a travel agent to apply for either a 3months visa or 1yr visa, i applied for 1yr visa and for about 3 months now, no news, i keep calling my agent sometimes he pick up n say its not ready yet sometimes he doesn't now am wondering maybe its a scam or sumin, i paid 60k and was gonna balance up later when the job is done
did u submit at south african visa application centre yourself the documents arranged for u by ur agent. or u gave him ur passport in expectation to deliver it to youwith da visa in it ?if thats d case then he has ripped u cos it doesnt work dat way but if u submitted urself you are bit safe and u can track the status of ur application online using the reference num on yur receipt. also its impossible to get 1 yr visa also being fact ure first timer

baddiguy: They remain intact. The idea is to get a fresh passport that does not feature any page with SA rejection stamp, just so eyebrows are not raised at other embassies. Usually, guys put in a police report for lost passport, go to court and then forward to NIS where about 15-20k and 24hrs would be the only obstacles to getting that fresh passport. But this is criminology, I guess. So I take it back and reserve my... no, comment my reserve grin
Getting replacement for stolen or lost passport i understand you only can get at the nigeria immigration services headquarter, abuja and not at any liason office and not at the normal cost as obtaining a fresh passport. as at 2 yrs ago that i have this information, its about 60k for replacement but am not sure may be by now you can get it for btw 15-20k like u indicated or at any nis office apart from abuja

today makes it the 15th working day my application was received at the south affican lagos embassy and still under processing. this is nothing but absolute bullshit. i suppose they shoud ensure they operate within the maximum timeframe. administrative laxity! i planned to travel all things equal on da 10th dec. and plans getting affected already
