opsy4real1: yes, he did it all himself and i guided him frm knwoledge tapped frm dis forum...all he used were genuine so no fret abt dat. So also, it was observant it was same consular officer that treated the initial denial cos same signature was on both refusal. But in actuality ALL SUBMITTED DOCUMENTS WERE GENUINE...

collinsfbi: If your current passport is to expire by Jan 2014 then your passport is still valid for application/immigration scrutiny. Since you plan to travel on 10th August then you are free because all you need is a valid passport (validity of at least 30days after the intended stay)

hello collinsfbi and others, i am to go renew my visa on tuesday 16th july at abuja and with intended plans to travel on 10 august and depart 17th august. However my passport expires 11 jan 2014 which wud make my passport validity less than 5 months frm my intended departure date and i undastand its like applicant passport must be valid at least 6 months beyond departure date. Now I cant apply wit such passport? I'm applying a re-issue of pasport at immigration office today. I would like to ask do i use d old passport number or the new passport num to apply wen i get it re-issued?thx

collinsfbi: My first questions are; Did your friend arrange his supporting documents himself? Did he make payment for his hotel booking himself? The reason being that, your hotel confirmation maybe be forged including some other undisclosed documents most especially if someone did it for you and that may earn you a ban unknowingly because forgery is a serious immigration offense when it comes to traveling and securing visas. To save your money, i will advise you to forge SA for a while.

collinsfbi: If you really want to travel, you can still travel even on the expiration date of your visa as long as you are financially ok but if you are not willing to spend another money of flight ticket, you can reapply but that may not give 1yr multiple entry. As for reapplying, you can do that with just flight reservation with South African Airways.

He reapplied again afta 2wks of denial, again he was refused. Reason is 'RECENTLY DENIED'. Wat do they mean as long as he was adviced to reapply if he wishes with all required documents. Do they now expect denied applicants to wait for at least 6 months now just lyk u.s and u.k

I got s.a visa twice,the 1st frm lagos which i utilized in january, and 2nd time at abuja in april and was again issued 3 months. But now i wont be able to make d trip on d 2nd issued visa which expires 10th. Now i want to knw if i can stil be issued at least 6months on my 3rd try. Also, can i detail in my self intro leta dat i was meant to travel on 5th july but rescheduled my plan cos they might be curious why 'seen on departure immigration stamp is on my passport and no arrival stamp to my destination whatsoever.also do i include the kenyan airways confirmed ticket for dat missed date? I should av changed dates if i were sure of wen i'm gettin visa if i apply. Or do i just make a flight bookin wit s.a airways to secure my visa and then change my already paid ticket date wit kenyan airways. Thanx.

hi collinsfbi and others who understands dis issue more. My visa expires on the 10th july, however i plan my departure frm lagos for 8th july and return 15th july(5days after my visa expires. I wish to know if its alright or must my return date frm s.a be no later than 10th july visa expiry? I think since it is indicated on d visa to enter on or b4 10th july, i should have no problem since on entry i get 30days maximum of stay which means i can still remain in S.A until 9th August maximum ...pls let me knw ASAP as i hope to book my ticket in dis manner tomorow. no i have never been issued a u.s visa...however, wat do u suggest now that travel for pleasure might work against? I'm self employed wit a registered biz name wit CAC frm jan 2013...Do i apply to travel as per for conference then? Thx

tzetzefly: Have you previously been issued with a US visa? If your reply is no, then you need to be careful with your travel jamboree. Frequent travels for any reason aside business, shows you have no solid tie back home. This may eventually work against you than for you.

Limit your pleasure travels to a specific cumulative period within one calendar year. And never always frequent.....

hello nairalanders, am planning to reapply the 3rd time for u.s tourist visa by july after conducting anoda one week trip to S.A and in the process of my s.a visit i plan to visit a new country not in my previous application for u.s visa like swaziland..thereby adding up to my travel history frm 3 countries previously visited to 4 countries in my nxt application....secondly, my pasport expires by jan 2014,and i read that passport must be valid at least 6months afta intended departure frm u.s. How do one go abt that?hope it wont go against?

it was actually before the introduction of the 10 year ban that i applied. so also , it was not even indicated if am on a ban.

hello to you all on this thread...I need experienced people in the house to profer meaningful advice toward re-applying for a u.k tourist visa anytime frm now after 6years i was denied. I was denied twice actualy of student visas in 2007 and 2008 respectively. In 2006, my refusal was based on d fact that they doubt d genuinety of my sponsor's statement of account and that funding my education wud impose an additional financial burden upon him and that they r not satisfied that the increased financial outlay is commensurate with his current economic circumstances and that such funds wud actualy be available to me in da u.k. . Second time around i reapplied in 2008 and again denied on the ground that 'i was unemployed and i already have a degree from 2006 and yet i av failed to secure any employment and i have failed to submit any evidence of my own financial circumstances. in an overall assesment of d credibility of the application, they r nt satisfied the cost of the study is proportionate to my current economic circumstances or that there are advantages i might derive frm dis course of study. I am nt satisfied, on d balance of probabilities that i intend to follow d course. It further stated that my application also falls to be refused unda paragraph 320(7A) of d immigration rules:where false representations av been made or false documents have been submitted(whether or not material to d applicaton,and whether or not to d applicant's knowledge) or material facts av not been disclosed in relation to d application. You state dat d cost of ur tuition.maintenance and accomodation is to be borne by ur uncle mr. Bleep. As evidence of his means u av submitted 2 vehicle proof of ownershp certificates. As a result of checks made by this office i am satisfied to a high degree of probability that this document is nt genuine and the production of such documents undermines d credibility of my applicatn and causes me to doubt ur intentions in the u.k..(this is my story) Now i am self employed afta workin for a company for 2 yrs btw 2010 and 2012. I registered my biz in jan 2013(abt 7months ago) and now I av a vry gud income and bank balance..i av traveled to 4 countries within last 2 yrs. Now i plan to apply for a u.k tourist visa. blawi1: @opsy4real you dont need to book an appointment simply show up @ VFS lekki btw 8 and 1pm to drop off your documents and passport. Next day you go to french embassy for biometrics (fingerprinting and digital passport photo taking). Up to recently, biometrics was done @ VFS but the website directs you prepare to go to french embassy on the next work day for it.

@oyinposh a visiting visa is called a B2 visa so it's covered by the category B1/B2. you're on the right path. B1 refers to business visa and both types get lumped together.

blawi1: Hello house, I'm new in here but have experience and a valid 2 yrs multiple entry US visa so i will share.
@Asorock1 the VO was sincere that travel history helps so i will advice you to travel to Europe. For a Schengen Visa, France is very easy. First of all their economy is pretty big on tourism and so they are keen on tourists. Travel for a week or 10 days or something. Second of all, if you provide all the documents they require on the www.france-ng.com/Lagos/‎ you'll get the france visa. Also, you don't have to wait till next year to reapply for the US visa. Get the schengen visa and use it asap. Thereafter reapply and attend your interview after correcting any other errors. On your new DS-160, your travel history is about previous visas and trips to the US so it wont go on the form, however during your interview, you may be asked about previous trips abroad and of course your passport with the visa will be right there to verify the info. I hope this helps.

i applied at abuja and it took 12working days to process. Yes,u can apply at Lagos if u aint in a hurry to travel and u dnt mind ur application wait for long up till 3 months atimes to finalize. The choice is yours to submit either at lagos or abuja .and yes u wil get ur visa anywhere u chose to apply if u properly package ur documents and are genuine.
