ravensckar: I think the OP is right, however, he did add a bit of exaggeration.
Having interacted with quite a handful of white ladies, I've come to realize that their taste in men is quite different from our typical Nigerian women.
A typical white lady for example is easily fascinated by any of the following guys; humorous guys or smart guys (who know a little bit of everything), or guys who can hold conversations. Physically fit guys (with nice abs & six packs) or guys who dress well and smell nice.
If you fall into any of this category, even your village people won't stop them from loving you.
But you see our typical Nigerian ladies; they desire only two qualities in their men. Have plenty money or a big CUCUMBER.
#Picks_tooth I understand where you are coming from, but quite frankly the OP is not exaggerating. I can attest to it 101% both from a personal point of view and from a 3rd person point of view. In the US, Nigerian guys are in extreme demand currently, and thats due to a whole host of reasons, that is to be spoken about another day. However, the average Nigerian guy is a hot commodity for women on a wide scale globally. Even Arab women and Asian women that used to be mostly homogeneous, have recently joined the bandwagon- for Nigerian guys. FYI Nigerian guys have a very wide mix of those traits you mentioned; 1. Most are smart- Most naija guys abroad have multiple advanced qualifications i.e triple Masters, double phds etc (which is not the norm to men these days) 2. Most are social live wires... they can sing, dance, gist and will not give a dull moment in any social demography. 3. Most are respectful... I mean super respectful (a trait that is getting lost in this modern era) 4. Most are Hardworking, ambitious and goal focused (the average Nigerian guy is a hussler) 5. Most are Godfearing (regardless of the religious orientation, the average Nigerian guy no dey carry spiritual matter play) 6. Most are Physically very good-looking (and this is what many Foreign women keep saying) 7. Most are Sweet talkers, can rizz women very easily and can also easily lavish wealth on women (a rare trait in men these days, but very common & normal with naija guys) in fact this one alone, is what makes many Foreign women to go bananas for Nigerian men8. Most are business savvy(Heebo Kwenu ) 9. Most are family oriented and can take care of a home 10. Most have big Willie's... infact a foreign lady once told me point blank that she likes only Naija gbola... In these 10 things I listed, most Nigerian guys can have all traits individually. And the world is coming to know this gradually but steadily. So the op is not exaggerating at all... |

Car Talk › Re: Innoson Ex02 Electric car Owner Interviewed While Speeding with the car by optimusprime2(m): 2:24pm On Sep 18, 2024 |
PointB: A full charge taking you 350 km is quite substantial.
I'm not sure how much power, cost wise, is used to charge the battery for the 6hr required for max charging, but it must be significantly lower than the cost of buying fuel for the same distance. So it's an impressive feat, and would certainly make sense in the Nigeria market.
Though normally, electric cars are notoriously more expensive than petrol cars, and one can argue that the cost of buying the fuel would have been factored into the cost of the car. However, in Nigeria where the cost of fuel is increasing in arimethemetic (or even geometric) proportion, electric cars may simply be the way to go.
Good one Innoson. Actually that 350km range may depend on the average power demand or simply put how fast one travels on average. Any speeds beyond 100km/h at a constant average rate, will significantly reduce that 350km range to even 250km. Then again the regen braking efficiency of the car needs to be taken into account. So as to evaluate energy management. The weight of the car and volume of traffic per km travelled also need to be taken account. And of course thermal situation of the battery during various weather conditions. Bro that's the kind of math one needs to apply the moment EV's range is being stated. Because stated range is not always equal to actual driving range. |

victory36: Osimhen doesn't seem to have good advisers. He could have taken the Chelsea offer and build from there. With the way this is going, he might be forgotten in 4 years No sir, It's a good move. 1. The club football play will be built around him (so he would be able to express himself more on the pitch- more goals) 2. Galatasaray is a champions league club (of which Chelsea is not) so big plus 3. They will meet his wages (perfect for a loan move) 4. The Turkish league looooooves Nigerians ask anyone, so his hype will not drop. 5. He can still transfer easily to another club by January since he is on loan. It's actually a perfect solution to the very complicated situation he was almost stuck in... provided Napoli is flexible with the loan adding a clause for a possible permanent transfer. I just hope he learns a lesson. |

Politics › Re: Kenneth Okonkwo Slams Tinubu For Acquiring Presidential Jet Amid Hardship by optimusprime2(m): 9:21am On Aug 20, 2024 |
emkz: While it seems criticisms of the president are apt, certain facts must be cleared.
Presidential transportation worldwide is a serious security matter. In our case, air transport of the president is handled by the Nigerian Airforce. If the airforce says a jet is unfit to fly the president because it might have stayed in service longer than specified, hence a potential aviation threat, it is only fair that we listen to them. We do not need to like them.
Those suggesting that the president must fly commercial or use his personal vehicles (like Deji Adeyanju) are not aware of the potential security threats. A Nigerian head of state was assassinated in broad daylight in his official car, while another one was murdered for not taking their security serious.
The aircraft here does not belong to Tinubu. It belongs to the Federal Government. Once Tinubu leaves power, he won't take the jet with him. So those accusing Tinubu of purchasing a private jet for himself are being ludicrous.
Yesterday, Charly Boy lied that the president's official car, Cardilac Escalade is worth almost 1 billion naira. A simple internet search showed that the vehicle is about 250 million naira. Still expensive, why did Charly Boy have to lie? When Buhari exited power, he didn't leave with the Maybach. The vehicle was not his. The Cardilac does not belong to Tinubu. DSS handles his ground transportation. Why not question DSS for proposing that vehicle?
And for those who are just realizing, the Cardilac Escalade SUV had been in use since last year and sighted several times in the convoy, how come they are just seeing it? The vice president is driven in one of such vehicles. How come they have not seen it?
Anyway, Kenneth Okonkwo says people are dying of hunger and there is no fuel or electricity. It is not Tinubu's job to cultivate arable land nationwide. It is not Tinubu's job to provide buses to transport people within states. These are things state governors can easily undertake on their own, and even local governments. We have seen the Niger State governor buy such buses. Once the burden of transportation is removed, the issue of fuel price would not bother so many.
The fact is that the president is being blamed for policies, but all presidential candidates agreed that subsidy on petrol needed to be removed. Even the messianic pontiff said he'd remove it on day 1. Suddenly, Tinubu is being condemned for taking the decision to save us from economic doom. It didn't make sense that we were borrowing to pay subsidies. Also, the removal of the parallel trade of fx was to tackle the fx fraud that drained our resources.
This meant that increased allocation could be used for developmental purposes in the states. What do the state governors do instead? We find them doing Hajj subsidies and Ramadan feeding, purchasing vehicles for traditional rulers, buying wheelbarrows to turn their unemployed youth to mai-barrow in the markets, and stacking funds for elections they are not sure of living to partake in.
Dear governors, learn one basic thing: from what happened in Kano during the August riots, when people take to the streets, they'd target governors first and they can only move up the ladder once they have brought you down.
You still have time to work for your people and address the basic problems of food security and transportation within your state. We shall criticize the president for the things we must criticize him on. Chairman... People are smart these days o, so becareful about your posts if it lacks certain details. Did the NAF categorically say they lack an aircraft within their fleet to transport the president? Go through the list of aircraft within the NAF fleet and question the decision of spending billions when alternatives existed. Secondly I thought there was a national carrier... if push had become shove, where is the national carrier in this time of "national urgency" abi there was no Contract of Carriage? Thirdly what was customed out about the new aircraft if it had to be purchased because of security?? It is a regular Airbus design. Check it out and see if all this was necessary. Can we simply admit that some people have pocketed in this window of wastage? |

DeLaRue: It is not a personal property.
Future President's will use it.
A Nigerian President needs to be able to fly in a plane owned by Nigeria as and when needed.
People who say the prime ministers of some countries in Europe use commercial planes. Yes, but those countries airports and airlines are very well connected to other countries.
Nigeria airlines don't fly to many countries. I think Airpeace only flies to the UK.
So, what if Nigeria's President needs to travel to France, USA, Brazil etc? He should fly Air France, or United Airlines? What if those airlines are not available on the day he needs to fly?
Because the price of beans and garri is high, Nigeria should not buy an aeroplane? I disagree.
The Nigerian government can do both - buy the plane and continue to work to make life easier for citizens. I like your thoughts about the country adding another aircraft to its fleet but I will like to point out a few things clearly. 1. The Airforce is solely responsible for the transportation of the president via aircraft, here is the list of the active aircrafts in the NAF; https://www.militaryfactory.com/modern-airpower/aircraft-nigerian-air-force.phpIf all the aircraft stated in that list by NAF are functional as reported, why waste funds ? The airforce has completely kept mute about this fyi as it was not beyond their scope. Nobody was questioned, nothing... Billions released without questioning... 2. Contract of Carriage: All National carriers are obliged to perform National assignments such as transporting the president in times of need; I thought Hadi Sirika & Co had said the National carrier- Air Nigeria have new aircraft on ground? Why spend funds if a National carrier exists... ok seriously, even if there is no National carrier, is such a Contract beyond the hands of Airpeace? Festus Keyamo has also kept mute. You see why one act of robbery will constantly give birth to more? 3. Why increase the current maintenance scope and costs of the airforce with that new craft addition... especially when they are struggling with the current fleet? Both NAF and MOA have kept mute. Senate mute... tchai! Basically at this time, spending such billions is justified when there are alternatives... of course some people will have pocketed from this window of wastage... I will let you know something quite obvious, incase you don't know... Nigeria is a crime scene. |

Maeve7: If he was deported, that’s a different issue altogether. Still not a reason to badmouth the child‘s mother on social media. It’s not a good start for the father-daughter-relationship. If he has to tell her anything about the mother, he should consider how it make the girl feel because she probably loves her mother. It’s just plain stupid and very insensitive to post such information online. You are very right! I am just very careful about fully taking sides in these kind of cases, because I have seen similar situations where the mother was a key factor to the deportation of the "African" father due to certain issues... In the end there is usually the classic case of; bad blood between the father who was deported & the begrudging native mother, then a grown innocent child caught in-between the drama, who then resorts to social media to trace the father & the truth. |
