Propaganda only makes issues worse |
First of all, with the wastefully expensive style of Government being run by BAT, it will be easier for a mosquito to join Manchester United than for this Government to raise 100million usd ... not to now mention 10Billion usd. ![]() Nigerians should prepare for unprecedented hardships, because this administration are undisputedly clueless on how to address this mess they caused. Imagine Shettima talking about the government raising funds ![]() |
t2luv1:You heard it yourself when Lord BAT said "na statistics we go chop?" That should give you an idea of how the current leadership would respond to enlightened Council from the likes of PWC and Co... because even Buhari in all his wahala, refused to float the currency. |
Why won't the USD hit the sky against the Naira, if the only way to address a supplier/market challenge is by imposing import threats... imagine? Vagabonds in government. My pity is for the masses, but e go bad wella. |
How can you float a currency to the open market and later start pursuing the open market because the price doesn't favor you... no be craze be that? All that is happening now is because one old man who should be in retirement, made an entire country blind to reason, deaf to counsel and confused to progressive direction by kickstarting a tribal frenzy, simply saying "Emi'lokan!" |
Manager: Tell us about yourself Legend: I graduated from Chicago State University, with first class honors in Statistics... Manager: impressive Legend: oh thank you, Emi'lokan Manager: How do you intend to put your statistical skills to use in this company Legend: eskis me ma, na statistics we go chop? Manager: what do you mean, are you hungry,? Legend: no ma, I have enough agbado at the ready Manager: It seems you are loosing character, you forget I am conducting an interview. Legend: Power to do anything can be always obtained, by grabbing, taking and running away with it Manager: maybe this place may not work out for you... Legend: its ok, if 50,000 thousand youths will be drafted in the army, then no problem |
Michael Owen not on that list makes me wonder why? |
It's not just a FOREX crisis please... It's a National Economic crisis. |
MrPADDY:Thank you... Thats the point! This blaming strategy can't even work, because it directly comes back to them. |
Tale as old as time... song as old as rhyme... |
Yes o |
Ogiame:Actually they are waiting for 1USD to hit 2000NGN before they start calling him names... which is going to happen pretty soon at this rate. One thing we all knew about BAT was that, he was serious about the Agbado talk... people would truly eat Agbado for breakfast lunch and dinner... I guess now is the time for people to enter their farms and begin planting agbado. Meanwhile still in the Festive Naija mood courtesy of the beloved BAT "Team-RONU voted" ... Happy Shege everyone! |
VeeVeeMyLuv:Yes that's the simple truth... The moment the Naira was floated, this self destruction journey began. Because the fact Nigeria had oil and oil prices were high back then, masked alot of issues with the economy. Had it been oil prices were still high and global crude oil demand was still high, the Naira would not have tumbled this way even if the currency value was floated... however 99 days is for the thief and one day is for the owner. The true state of Nigeria's Economy is just revealing itself finally since the oil party is over. |
VeeVeeMyLuv:I will try to be as short and simple as possible, avoiding the dark side of France in the African economy; All CFA countries have their economies literally tied to France, so basically the CFA is directly pegged to the Euro, which makes it a very stable currency. |
The Naira is at the mercy of global market forces... at this stage nothing really can be done to immediately stop its decline. All solutions or theories postulated now are nothing but cheap talk because it is far too late. The situation has to just run its course till it plateaus and hopefully everyone survives it... |
The mechanical engineer suddenly realised the bank is not a workshop ![]() |
Go and scan the car... It's possible the brainbox has been stolen and your oxygen sensor is malfunctioning. Although it could be something else, but a stolen Brainbox/ECU is usually the most common culprit. |
Lance008:I guess Luxembourg is a good place to study. But I have no idea about the affordability and acceptance rate in Luxembourg universities. I only know somethings about Luxembourg as a country, because I had a brief visit there. |
pansophist:You are absolutely right! I am literally on my way to Luxembourg right now... I am using the train because the traffic this evening is insane, as people who live in nearby EU countries are rushing home for the weekend. One thing I can quickly point to about Luxembourg is the linguistic variety in this tiny country. Everyone manning a counter can speak at least 4 languages and I am not even exaggerating; French, German, Luxembourgish, & English. Alhough they really sound weird when they speak German (like drunk French folks speaking German). Anyway my thoughts about this country remains this, if you speak only English and are not open to learning 2 other languages at fast pace, Luxembourg is not for you. |
Dyfynezz12:Absolutely correct, I am just reinforcing the fact that offloading Mbappe is not just a player for player swap, but an ease on management and finance. Enrique has always said he would get an all out 9 if Mbappe left, and we all know that Kolo Muani and Gonçalo Ramos are not those kind of players. I am absolutely sure that Kolo Muani will be loaned off because his acquisition was "almost entirely Mbappe propelled", Ramos will be sent back as he is currently a loan player, as well as other players who can only function with the "Mbappe system" at PSG. Secondly I am totally sure there will be the financial freedom to acquire Leao after Oshimen is bought, which is why most sport analysts are already tipping an Oshimen acquisition and I totally agree. Replacing Mbappe with another inverted winger in a team that already has pure double sided wingers like Dembele, Asensio and Barcola especially if the player is not anything close to Mbappe does not make any sense. |
Dyfynezz12:Yes that's true, but it's more of a management and system change than a player for player change alone. I am glad you are open to this discussion, let's talk about what Mbappe was controlling even as a player; Mbappes contract at PSG has a component that makes him influence transfers and game play at the club, he is basically "part management" (why thats the case, I don't know), that being said any transfer that puts his playing position and style under threat (not building the game around him) gets automatically blocked. Which is why PSG did not look to sign classic number 9's after the departure of Cavani, & even sent away the younger Moise Kean (who was developing into a classic #9). What does V9 bring to a game; A direct striker approach(we all know V9 works well with wing and midfield feeding). Which would limit the impact of an inverted winger "turned striker" i.e Mbappe. Rather encouraging wingers who can track back (something Mbappe has stopped doing & will not do) Currently PSG had been playing a system where the "9" is more of a false 9 when Mbappe plays (Basically the #9 is always tracking back to support buildup-something Kolo Muani is excellent at) similar to what Benzema was doing for CR7 back in the day for Real Madrid. This is also the very reason Gonçalo Ramos is doing well at PSG, because he is somewhat a Benzema clone. Mbappe leaving PSG will cause them to change that system that is built around "Lord Mbappe" and build around a more conventional system that would shift play highlights specifically away from the left wing and encourage the #9 to score ruthlessly. By the way this was PSG's initial plan (during Cavani and Ibrahimovics time) but when the era of Neymar, Messi and Lord Mbappe came shortly, that made the coach's job a living hell. I can boldly tell you that PSG had no defined system during that era because you couldn't force Neymar, Messi or Mbappe to play a system, instead you just tell the other players to work with them and hope for the best. At least now PSG can go back to normalcy with Lord Mbappe's departure(the coach will be relieved and work with a system that is not influenced by "one player" ... He (Mbappe) will do better at Real Madrid because they already play a system that inverted wingers are the striker's. |
mariahAngel:Mbappe leaving PSG, simply means Oshimen is on PSG's radar and if that's the case, only sentimental reasons can stop that transfer from happening, because only Arab clubs will be capable of competing with what PSG will offer Napoli. Chelsea no get that kinda power |
In that case, the sky is saying "Oshimen to PSG"... |
Don't worry, that Agbado he was talking about will start chasing Nigerians... in their dreams ![]() |
Celestialsword:Yes you are right about import dependency, however note that Nigeria also had high volumes of petroleum export to balance out the import costs back in the day (good days) especially during the era of high crude oil prices per barrel... However of late, those petroleum export numbers have drastically dropped, coupled with the drop in crude prices, (the global shift in fossil fuel demand to renewable energy sources and Electric vehicles), as well as the legendary corruption in the oil and gas sector of Nigeria, the impact of oil Bunkering and pirate activities and the resulting effect; is the weight of import/National demand that is heavily being felt currently. Oga, It will be a bad fall just like Venezuela... brace yourself it will get worse, its not a prophesy... it's just a pure fact. |
ufotunang:The moment they floated the currency, the government lost the last bit of control they had over the Economy... right now, Nigeria's Economy is at the mercy of the open market and it is definitely not helping matters that fuel is an imported commodity. I regret to tell you that as long as fuel is being imported, as long as there are no significant exports, as long as Nigeria depends fully on a consumption demand... The Naira is doomed. |
Omihanifa:December? You mean by April... all indexes point to 2000NGN to USD by April. |
Ejyksneh:I can say You don't understand football because of my following arguments; 1. Versatility: Apart from Ola Aina, which other full back did you see in the concluded AFCON, that was capable of comfortably playing on the right or left with almost the same efficiency for his team? Ola Aina did that perfectly while still delivering his sick throw-ins and whipping crosses from either foot... dude was acting like he was on play station. 2. Offensive play/defensive play balance: We all saw his Offensive runs and defensive recovery runs after offence (bear in mind that he was not given the licence to fully attack like Zaidu)... he was a Rolls Royce of a full back in terms of bursting forward and tracking back, which gave him a higher work rate by default. 3. Skill set: abi you no see am? Ola Aina was moving like a well oiled machine I am not even complaining... he had long throw ins, could dribble, on both feet, could cross on both feet, was good in the air-dude hardly lost an aerial duel, and he was a good zonal cover. 4. Ola Ainas heat map: football these days can be easily analysed due to heat maps... O Aina had heavy heat maps compared to any fullback in all games he played... check out the data yourself To be honest Ola Aina outdid PSG's Hakimi by a mile ... I only blame Peseiro for opting to play defence fully instead of attack when the game needed it. Analyse the heat map of the final game and you would understand where the fault was... 8 of Nigeria's players were functioning deep all the time, I mean how on earth do you want Alex Iwobi to play like Ngolo Kante? Lookman had more touches in the defensive half because 8 players were fully stationed in defence. Chukwueze could not link because he was isolated... Look, I will give Ola Aina his flowers because he played sleek football. I knew he was the best RB in the AFCON. |
NaBanga:Go to South Africa, you would change your mind between 10 to 15 minutes. |
As a confam African man, B & especially F definitely my type... However I find G, I & J also cute because asides the curves, height is something I also am partial to. |
Mostly only Eberechi Eze and Jamal Musaila are players the SE team would have needed due to their midfield playmaking abilities, however there's no need for the other listed players. |
Domaining101:You forgot to add Gattuso |

... He (Mbappe) will do better at Real Madrid because they already play a system that inverted wingers are the striker's.
