That is Hamza El din, from Nubia. Nubia is in Southern Egypt/Northern Sudan. The Aswan dam was built to connect the Suez canal and provide irrigation, electricity etc. This expansion destroyed Nubia and they had to relocate Hamza's village, all its history, people, culture etc and as you can guess nothing was ever the same again. So, that song was Hamza reminding his friend of how their village, livelihood, youth etc was prior to the Aswan dam. So, Yes you will not hear or understand what was said but you can relate to the sighs, the lament and the tone of the song. This will revolutionize the way you listen to music.
