Politics / Re: Submission Of Yoruba/itsekiri Groups To The Committee On National Conference by orufe: 8:57pm On Oct 23, 2013
Dudu_Negro:

Yoruba is not even claiming anyone.

There is a commonwealth......all who want are welcome to join it.

Ibos are stressed because the sections they claim as Ibolands and their people have refused to be labeled Ibo.

Yoruba does not have that problem, although Ibo wish we did. Itsekiri has been part of MidWest, then SS, yet they identify as a Yoruba group on their cultural websites, in wiki, on fb....they can stand on their own and still be respected but they have expressed interest in the commonwealth and in fact are expecting to join the DAWN initiative.

There is no hope in the Eastern corridor. No market diversity - everything in that direction is locked down under Ibo monopoly. The market is terminal.

The Western market on the other hand is an endless penetration of multi culturalism and open entry.....from Yorubaland all along the coast to Bambaraland
Do you have life at all apart from Igbo bashing. Isn't it shameful how your inbecilic posts is so full of Igbo this and that. Why do you always want Igbo people to get angry and join a thread that is not meant for them.
Mazi Negro, get a life please.

Abeg give some people some credit. Some regions and people are more mature than others. Igbos are not like Yoruba people; we don't descend and start attacking people based on what their tribes men or women did. Igbos only go tribal when others descend to tribal matter first. We all know if the situation was the other way around, this thread would be filled with bigoted comments by Yorubas with the rest of their own liking the bigoted comments. Just because they do it, don't mean others will too. We know criminals are found everywhere irrespectful of the tribal, ethical, origins, etc.
Its true.

A QUESTION FOR BIAFRA REP.
Your discussions has always been about the south east and your lofty ideas for the region. However, there are many of us from Rivers state who are proud Igbo and feels you can not carry us along.
So how do you tend to carry the Igbo in Rivers state along considering we are not in the south east?.

Then una should have informed him during that time. From his past action, we know he barely visit politics section so obviously he probably didn't know the situation was going on. I truly believed if he knew the situation was pertaining, he would have involved himself, I've seen him do it in other times. Judge him from his past actions, don't judge from one little mistake he did.
THE ONLY WAY FORWARD IS THE ABOVE STATEMENT.
DID ANYONE CALL HIS ATTENTION AND HE FAILED TO MEDIATE?.

There are no more Hausas than others. There may be more northers than others but that does not equate to more Hausas in the army.
The north has more states t4 more representation in the army

Dear brother are you imposing this on us or is it just a suggestion? Bringing these people you had mentioned to organize our Eze igbo election isn't that an insult to igbo intellectuals?. are you insinuating that igbos which comprises you and me and others are not capable to organize their election anymore, nna men make we take am easy na.This idea sound like Nigerian believe on whatever onyibo or outsiders does is better. These people you mentioned so far are matured and intelligent individuals yes no doubt but they have not been able to organize one for them self some even tried and failed woefully half way. I urge you to withdraw this statement before you render our efforts and innovative mind which we have brought to nairaland into useless. Can't you yourself volunteer to take the responsibility or are you saying you can't handle it better? Formerly you said you are planning to appeal against the election now i wondered if this is the appeal or are we still expecting it? just curious to know.
I will appeal before the handover date. The electoral team did very well, despite that, you guys as Igbos have your own favourite candidates. But non Igbos will not allow any sort of favouritism creep in. I do not want it to be left entirely in the hands of none Igbos.
Believe me, there will not be complaints but transparency if Igbo and non Igbo combine to give us a credible election.
Having said that, you guys did well, but you have to listen to suggestions.

The electoral team made so many mistakes regardless, they should not be biased. To eliminate bias, there has to be Igbo and non Igbo members of the electoral team. Other ethnic groups in Nigeria are also blessed with capable hands in election organisation.

To prevent favouritism and for checks and balances, non Igbos should be called upon to do so. The nairalanders listed are not partial and they can be called upon to assist the electoral team come nov 2013. They are:
Beaf, Nduchuks, Gbawe, Ekt Bear, Edoyad, Ibime, Physics, Jarus, Debosky and Sagamite.

@HE ELECTORAL TEAM. I suggest you you include non Igbos in the electoral team come oct/nov 2013. This will really eliminate partiality. Am sure nairalanders like Gwawe, Ekt bear, Ibime, Edoyad, Ndu chuks, Gbawe Jarus or Physics QED will do a good job if called upon.
The electoral team next year must not be entirely Igbo.

Antivirus92: Only truth and odumchi were the contenders in the last election, now 2 of them again! Are they the only igbos on nairaland. Or are they wiser, smarter, more intelligent/knowledgeable than others? Everybody disqualified only 2 of them are qualified.
From what I read in the thread of last election. It ended like this:
Onlytruth 1
Andre Uweh 2
Odumchi 3
High Chief4.
Atleast more opportunities were given to members. They all had their plans rolled out.
But this year's own, hasn't gone well.

I doubt if you understand the rules. Though my sympathy goes with one naira and wishing him a speed recovering. It was stated clearly that whomever that failed to show up is disqualified.
Sorry sir, you don't get my point. Someone with 1 or 2 nominations have already failed and will not come up to accept nominations when there are top 3 ahead of them. But as some of the top 3 candidates did not show up, you should have called them up to come forward than hastily go into an election.
Now what have the two candidates presented to Ndigbo that will make them vote for them. Or are you taking Ndigbo for a ride.

TALLY MARKER - 1
=====================================
INEC Boss, you have not answered the question I asked you. Sir with all pleasure, you failed to give other contestants opportunity to come foward. Wrong.
In a department in any higher inst, if JAMB cut of mark was 200 and only 2 peole scored 2oo and above. the dept will automatically lowe the cut of mark to attract others. No dept will go into an accademic season with only two students. .
You have to cancel this election and give other candidates the opportunity to come forward and contest.

My dear if you have been following the process well without been engaged into derailing or making unnecessary argument i am sure you would have noticed that Electoral Commissioner had in many times informed the general public that if anyone among those that was nominated but failed to show up to accept or decline his/her nomination will be automatically disqualify.
After the nominations, Odumchi, Eziachi and Dede1 were qualified. Automatically, others have failed. But Dede1 declined, Eziachi no show and One naira hospitalised. The electoral team would have called upon others to come and fill the spaces left by those absentees, yet that did not happen. What makes you guys feel that some one with one vote if given the opportunity will not contest?.

None asked them not to accept their nomination. Accepting of nomination was the minimum required of every nominees regardless of the number of nominations. But the choose not to exercise that right, even when it guarantee them additional nomination. As per why we are holding the election in October, well that is what the cabinet decided, as a means of re-jigging. Ever heard the term - early election?
What sort of election is this. I WASN'T AROUND LAST YEAR BUT FROM THE THREAD of last year, candidates were given opportunities to air their manifestoes to voters. The thread is still there. No manifestoes, no campaigning just straight to elections, is the world coming to an end in october?.

Please what is going on here. only two persons for election while there were more than ten candidates nominated. out of top 4, only one came forward to accept. Is it the duty of you guys to call up other candidates that were not in the top 3 or 4.
Not every one wants to vote for only those two candidates.
