Please what's the address of the embassy incase one needs to write a letter?
They opened up my online account so that I can provide the additional letter of explanation. Therefore, I don't have their address. I believe you can fill out the online webform on the IRCC's website if you need to send them additional document.

I guess they knew it was a mistake cos everything was just perfect with that application except for that mistake. It was entirely GOD at work.
But shebi someone can not come and make mistake ni? We are humans and are bound to make mistakes. They should chill grin
I totally agree with you as similar thing happened to me. I applied for someone and made the same mistake. However, unlike your case I have not been refused but have been sent an administrative fairness letter to explain/correct the error. I have written them to let them know it was an oversight on my part and I'm waiting for the final decision. One thing I can say about these people is that for the most part they could tell if someone is making up stuff or if it was just an oversight. I have filled out multiple canadian visa applications that resulted in approvals and I can tell you that it is easy to check those boxes in error, especially the background check section.

Hi everyone,

For those worried about the correspondence letter, it took a while for mine to come. It will definitely come.

For flights, I had an offer of just over 300k on Lufthansa, I don’t know if it’s still available but you can confirm.

Ethiopian airline isn’t bad.

For those that have other visas like the UK, you can fly there and then move on; it’s cheaper.
On Correspondence letter: Mine did not arrive until after 7 days of visa approval.

On Flights: justfly.com has great deals and the site is user friendly. Though I'm not sure if you can pay with naira debit cards. I booked multi city flights to Canada few days ago for $1,250. I will be visiting London for 3 weeks enroute to Canada. One thing I like with the itinerary is the short stopovers.

Lagos to London with just 2 hr stopover before arriving London. And after 3 weeks of stay in London, then I will continue the journey to Canada with 4 hr stopover in Toronto before landing in Windsor.

Anyone going to University of Windsor this fall(2018) please reach out, let’s probably connect.
I'm going to St. Clair College but will need to find apartment in Windsor, as the city of Windsor hosts the two institutions (St. Clair & UofW). Have you found an apartment?

Hi. Did you get a mail that your passport was ready for pick up? I did my biometrics that same day and I'm yet to get a response from Ukvi or TLS.
Yes, they sent me an email yesterday that my passport and supporting documents were ready. Also, my profile on TLS changed to passport ready for collection.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Oshey9999: 1:51pm On Jul 05, 2018
I did my biometrics for a 6 month visitor visa on June 12 to visit my brother in the UK enroute to starting school in Canada. Thankfully, the visa was granted and I just picked up my stamped passport.
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Oshey9999: 7:16pm On Jun 22, 2018
Yes, that's what I plan to do once the UK Visa is out. The ticket prices have been going up but I have no choice than to wait until visa is out. I hope I will hear from them next week so that I can buy tickets.

Thanks for the advice. I don't mind if suggest a way to get cheap tickets as well.

Let me quickly ask a question. Are you using return ticket or just one way to uk then on ward ticket to Canada?
I know I will be buying a one way ticket from UK to Canada. I'm just waiting the outcome of the UK visa. I know students are not required to buy round trip tickets but I'm not sure of the visiting in my case. Do you foresee any problem in buying a one way ticket to UK?
TravelRe: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by Oshey9999: 3:30pm On Jun 22, 2018
PrechyJoe:
Mine has ticked "Decision Made"

So I will just have to wait for mail from TLS.
@PrechyJoe: When did you submit your application? I did my biometrics for 6 month visit visa on June 12. My TLS profile has been showing that my application has been received by UKVI since June 13 (a day after my biometrics). However, I just received an email today from the UK Decision making Center stating that my online application has been received and is now being prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance Officer. Does that mean they just received my application?

I have been expecting them to contact my sponsor since last week, as my sponsor was contacted after three days of biometrics in my previous two refusals. I have confidence in this application and would not be bothered as much by whatever outcomes because I already secured a Canadian student visa and was just staying for two weeks in the UK with my brother enroute to Canada. Also, I have lived in Europe and came back to Naija since my last refusals in 2014.

Please let me know if your application timeline progresses as mine. Thanks!

But I think first time applicants should get email for biometric immediately if this new rule is in force now.
My friend is a first time applicant. He applied on June 7 (3 days ago) and no biometric email till now. Background check is currently being processed.

I think there has been changes in the way they process applications. I could remember I got my biometric email immediately after submitting my online application and background check didn't commence until after six weeks.

No biometric mail yet o.
Though mine is saying ''We are processing background check" . I don't know if it is the update they meant.
This is exactly the same profile for my friend. I think they we're referring to the start of background review. No biometric request yet after 48 hours of online application.

So i got an email last night saying my account has been updated but lo and behold, there has not been any change . No mail for biometrics yet. Na only me waka come ??
@chisiudeh Have you been asked to go for Biometrics? A friend just reached out to me that he applied on June 7th (2 days ago) and has not yet been asked to go for biometrics. He received an email yesterday that there was an update in his cic account but upon login nothing was found (just like in your case). Interestingly, background check has already begun. I will like to know if any other applicants are experiencing this. Is this the new normal?

I hope to hear from you or anyone in similar situation.

Thanks

Yes, you can.
Depending on the immigration officer at the POE, there is most likely a restriction not to be able to work until resumption be included in the *condition to work while schooling*
Why do you want to enter that early would be the question you should prepare yourself for at the POE. Even to the ordinary person, it raises a lot of red flags as to your intention(s). I'm not 100% sure of the Canadian immigration laws regarding early entry by a student holding a trv, but I'm absolutely sure that it is not allowed for a student holding a US F1 student visa. Even your school will admonish you not to enter the USA any time more than 30 days to the school's start date. Here is the logic: You are going on a long journey that requires you to leave all your family members behind for long time, shouldn't there be more of inertia than repulsion?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 14 by Oshey9999: 2:43pm On May 09, 2018
Hardinno:
Does someone that was refused Australia and USA student visa stand a chance of getting a TRV
As said by other, I will say there is 100% chance of getting TRV approved after past record of refusals. I was refused Czech study visa and twice USA F1 visa all happened last year. And yesterday my TRV was approved. Thus, don't be discouraged because every country applies their immigration laws in different ways.

Good luck.

You are right, i also have someone who got approved without including police clearance certificate in her application.
However, everybody is trying their best to tighten all loose ends as no size fits all, so i understand Uzee's concern.
I'll say to Uzee, get your police certificate, register your presence at vfs tomorrow although not with the hope of submission but to get an appointment for submission. Following the xzile experience, there is every tendency that you might not even be able to submit tomorrow if you get there as early as possible tomorrow.

Remember that every document you submit automatically form part of your data base in canada when you eventually get in. so, If you want to make do without the police certificate at visa application time, i will advice you make sure to have one ready whenever you plan to depart Nigeria. The reason is that if you plan to get a part time job or full time job during summer especially in a government set up, they sometimes review the police certificate in your database as part of their security check, where if you do not have, will then need someone to do it from Nigeria for you.
This, a friend of mine experienced. The individual was required to present the original copy of her police clearance certificate from Nigeria to complete her security check for the job.
Now I understand the angle you are coming from.

Yes please, just prove your ties to them
I think you can, as long as they are both committed to supporting you. You will want them to provide tangible evidences of how and why they are sponsoring you. Showing records of past financial assistance will go a long way in making your case believable. For example, school fees payments in the past or other financial assistance. I hope this answers your question.
