deracathy:They opened up my online account so that I can provide the additional letter of explanation. Therefore, I don't have their address. I believe you can fill out the online webform on the IRCC's website if you need to send them additional document. |
Candybright:I totally agree with you as similar thing happened to me. I applied for someone and made the same mistake. However, unlike your case I have not been refused but have been sent an administrative fairness letter to explain/correct the error. I have written them to let them know it was an oversight on my part and I'm waiting for the final decision. One thing I can say about these people is that for the most part they could tell if someone is making up stuff or if it was just an oversight. I have filled out multiple canadian visa applications that resulted in approvals and I can tell you that it is easy to check those boxes in error, especially the background check section. |
Heledy:Yes, a relative is traveling to Canada on September 10th. Let me know if you would like a travel buddy. |
Approval Alert!!! Application submitted on June 7th Biometrics completed on June 14th Passport Request August 7th (exactly 2 months as of today). Documents Submitted: 1. All cic required forms 2. Hotel and flight reservations 3. Letter of explanation detailing the need to accompany my little sister who will be starting school in Canada this September. I plan to help her in the transition process for about 11 days. 4. Six month SOA: N800k with inflow of N46m and outflow of N45m 5. CAC documents (cars and spare parts dealer) 6. Back up sponsorship letter from a sibling in the USA stating he will be contributing to the trip expenses. I think that's all.. Good luck to all trv hopeful in the house. |
OmoBendel24:Ohh good for them! I pray for something good from our end too. |
OmoBendel24:I hope so! How about your? |
OmoBendel24:No decision yet. It's still saying we are processing your application and will get back to you once the final decision has been made. |
gg4real:No updates for a relative since June 7. But, Biometrics that have been reading "complete" changed to no longer needed this morning. Some people have reported this kind of change as well. |
justwise:@shinner2010 you can not be 27 and still be a teenager. A teenager is anyone from thirteen - nineteen. I guess that's why @justwise was laughing. |
MichyEhi:On Correspondence letter: Mine did not arrive until after 7 days of visa approval. On Flights: justfly.com has great deals and the site is user friendly. Though I'm not sure if you can pay with naira debit cards. I booked multi city flights to Canada few days ago for $1,250. I will be visiting London for 3 weeks enroute to Canada. One thing I like with the itinerary is the short stopovers. Lagos to London with just 2 hr stopover before arriving London. And after 3 weeks of stay in London, then I will continue the journey to Canada with 4 hr stopover in Toronto before landing in Windsor. |
ladylco:I applied online for a relative on June 7th, biometrics done on June 14 and no update till now other than biometrics that reads "complete." I hope this answers your question. |
Youngblood28:I just sent you my phone number. Thanks! |
Youngblood28:I'm going to St. Clair College but will need to find apartment in Windsor, as the city of Windsor hosts the two institutions (St. Clair & UofW). Have you found an apartment? |
WEIRDPC:Assistance is needed to secure an affordable apartment in Windsor. Can someone help with this please? Thanks! |
dohyn:Yes, they sent me an email yesterday that my passport and supporting documents were ready. Also, my profile on TLS changed to passport ready for collection. |
I did my biometrics for a 6 month visitor visa on June 12 to visit my brother in the UK enroute to starting school in Canada. Thankfully, the visa was granted and I just picked up my stamped passport. |
Yes, that's what I plan to do once the UK Visa is out. The ticket prices have been going up but I have no choice than to wait until visa is out. I hope I will hear from them next week so that I can buy tickets. Thanks for the advice. I don't mind if suggest a way to get cheap tickets as well. |
mavinc4u:I know I will be buying a one way ticket from UK to Canada. I'm just waiting the outcome of the UK visa. I know students are not required to buy round trip tickets but I'm not sure of the visiting in my case. Do you foresee any problem in buying a one way ticket to UK? |
PrechyJoe:@PrechyJoe: When did you submit your application? I did my biometrics for 6 month visit visa on June 12. My TLS profile has been showing that my application has been received by UKVI since June 13 (a day after my biometrics). However, I just received an email today from the UK Decision making Center stating that my online application has been received and is now being prepared for consideration by an Entry Clearance Officer. Does that mean they just received my application? I have been expecting them to contact my sponsor since last week, as my sponsor was contacted after three days of biometrics in my previous two refusals. I have confidence in this application and would not be bothered as much by whatever outcomes because I already secured a Canadian student visa and was just staying for two weeks in the UK with my brother enroute to Canada. Also, I have lived in Europe and came back to Naija since my last refusals in 2014. Please let me know if your application timeline progresses as mine. Thanks! |
life4lekan2:My friend is a first time applicant. He applied on June 7 (3 days ago) and no biometric email till now. Background check is currently being processed. I think there has been changes in the way they process applications. I could remember I got my biometric email immediately after submitting my online application and background check didn't commence until after six weeks. |
chisiudeh:This is exactly the same profile for my friend. I think they we're referring to the start of background review. No biometric request yet after 48 hours of online application. |
jydorchem:You mean no biometric request (fingerprints) and your background check has begun? |
chisiudeh:@chisiudeh Have you been asked to go for Biometrics? A friend just reached out to me that he applied on June 7th (2 days ago) and has not yet been asked to go for biometrics. He received an email yesterday that there was an update in his cic account but upon login nothing was found (just like in your case). Interestingly, background check has already begun. I will like to know if any other applicants are experiencing this. Is this the new normal? I hope to hear from you or anyone in similar situation. Thanks |
SpeedndAccuracy:I'm not in Lambton but I can guide you on how to pay your tuition. |
tylerwill:Thanks! |
amnotapervert:I would like information about getting an off campus accommodation in Windsor, ON. Visa already granted and I'm just trying to solidify my plans regarding accommodation. Please let me know if we can talk offline. Thanks. |

HiSignature:Why do you want to enter that early would be the question you should prepare yourself for at the POE. Even to the ordinary person, it raises a lot of red flags as to your intention(s). I'm not 100% sure of the Canadian immigration laws regarding early entry by a student holding a trv, but I'm absolutely sure that it is not allowed for a student holding a US F1 student visa. Even your school will admonish you not to enter the USA any time more than 30 days to the school's start date. Here is the logic: You are going on a long journey that requires you to leave all your family members behind for long time, shouldn't there be more of inertia than repulsion? |
Hardinno:As said by other, I will say there is 100% chance of getting TRV approved after past record of refusals. I was refused Czech study visa and twice USA F1 visa all happened last year. And yesterday my TRV was approved. Thus, don't be discouraged because every country applies their immigration laws in different ways. Good luck. |
HiSignature:Now I understand the angle you are coming from. |
HiSignature:I think you can, as long as they are both committed to supporting you. You will want them to provide tangible evidences of how and why they are sponsoring you. Showing records of past financial assistance will go a long way in making your case believable. For example, school fees payments in the past or other financial assistance. I hope this answers your question. |
