Thanks a whole bunch Nairaland family, loads of info that helped in a lot many ways. Wifey delivered on Wednesday October 28th, went to vital records for the BC on Wednesday 5th Nov, BC info was yet to be forwarded by the hospital, so she went back to the hospital and expedited things and was told to check vital record back on Friday 6th after paying up the hospital bills. She went on Friday got the BC moved over to Nigerian house same day ! got the Naija passport after I had sent consent to them via email(as I am in Naija). Went to New York passport office on Monday 10th for d blue pali, was attended to and she opted for priority mailing instead of coming back next day (Lil one was demanding attention ). The blue pali was delivered lastnyt (13th Nov) signalling the epilogue of the Big Apple waka. Exit mode to be activated by Friday. Very grateful to God Almighty for hitch-free delivery and every other blessing, Thumbs up to the Nairaland community & special mention TOBERMOM! We celebrate you all. Peace 16 Likes |

Tobermom: Safe trip back to Naija. Kindly assist me with contacts to Naija visa office (did you use an agent? If yes contact plus & what's d charge). The hospital informed my wife she can now head to county for the BC and I need to see if she can @ least tidy up both US passport & Naija visa office after picking d BC today & possibly wait for collection next wk. Cos my Aunt took out some time from work to assist her but she is resuming on Monday. Once more, thanks for all your assistance. |

Tobermom: Congrats once more Tobermom, which hospital did you use? My hospital send the BC might take as much as 4 weeks before the data gets to vital records. Which is really delaying already. |

koko83: Brooklyn Hospital Centre is not a birthing center, it's a full hospital with about 6 faculties ( @least I was there in person & saw for myself ). I didn't get to meet the oby/ gyn as I was to get back to Nigeria almost immediately. |

Now, the hospital part. Got to the hospital on Thursday (Brooklyn Hospital Centre), my aunt had already opened a file there and deposited $1000 With them b4 we arrived. So we proceeded with PT & was eventually given the bills which are as follows Hospital fees: $4980 (includes 2 prenatal & 2 post partum visits, baby & mother hospital stay for 2 nights) for vaginally delivery Faculty Dr's fee: $1200 It does not include epidural shall. so we completed both fees, had a bit of look around Friday & Saturday. I left US on Saturday night currently reporting from London Heathrow as our flight is 10:40PM to Abuja. Once again, I thank God for favour all the way as we await the part 2 of our American dream & celebrate u guys, as we pray that God grants those trusting Him for this kind of favor, a higher dimension of His favour and goodness. 16 Likes |

My wife's was rescheduled severally (u remember when they had network issues around June/July) but she eventually went & was granted too. She told them she was dependent on my visa which has been granted already Fast forward last Wednesday, we left Abuja throw Heathrow to JFK. After the long queue like 1+ hour, got to custom officer (wifey was 32 was gone). CBP: Hello, what are u in d states for? Me: holiday CBP:only holiday (while typing on his system) Me: muttered delivery (almost sure he didn't hear) CBP:how long are u here? Me: 1 week but she will stay till November Me: saw his nametag same as d surname of a famous Spanish footballer, so, I joked " xxxx xx as in the footballer's first name? CBP: I wish laughingly he stamped both of in We couldn't find our luggages, so we were headed for d luggage section when another officer asked for my landing card, saw that I declared food, asked for d boxes, I told him they weren't brought, he said oh that's better, we would look @ them once they land. We now left after lodging complaints of not seeing our boxes. D luggages were delivered to my aunt's address the next evening & though the keys were destroyed but nothing was taken away (we had dried fish, crayfish, or a leaf, u zila, okapi, bitterleaf, groundnut, melon, ogbono, Maggi (but not chicken flavour), frozen pap, spices etc.none of them were touched. GOD IS NOT ONLY FAITHFULL (HE IS JEHOVAH-OVER DO). I thank Him & I celebrate u alol for the wealth of knowledge u make available. 13 Likes |

abujaniv: @ABUJANIV. Good day, my wife & I were given B1/B2 visa for vacation as we intended to mark our wedding anniversary in the US. But, we couldn't go at the time cos I was unavoidably busy @work (due to transition in govt) . Right now she intends to deliver our baby in the US & she was not asked about pregnancy during interview (though we weren't considering US childbirth then, as we were more focused on a project). My question is does she need to inform the embassy of the additional intention of childbirth or she should just go ahead and explain it out @ the POE. I have heard of those who wrote the embassy on that getting responses like "you don't have to notify the embassy, the POE determines?". I am not going with her immediately as I have a few things to sort here that may be time-bound, but I will surely join her later. Thanks for the good job & enjoy the weekend. |
