…abi you just noticed because your being owed months of unpaid arrears. Nigeria as a country don't pay much emphasis on education and when politicians do, they just build infrastructure to boast of and steal monies. they don't care about human development in terms of training of staffs, better pay and remunerations, pension, better working conditions and long term modalities to maintain such eye service infrastructure. you see those schools built by ameachi in few years time will look like a shrine.

well....I won't give up....GOD is good all the time....he ain't governor WIKe, not Fred kpakol, not Briggs and co...his been faithful. yes! I need money but what is more important than life. if our lives were to be bought with monies...these thieves called politicians would have snuffed life out of us....but God ain't man. My colleagues I know we have needs which money can only meet, some are angry, some frustrated to say the least....thank God for your life and health....am still expecting and my expectations shall not be cut off.

He also appealed to WIKE to keep up to his promised of clearing d backlog of salaries owed teachers this week. Imagine MKPOGENE, he is now a begger for his constitutional right. NUT Ntoor! This Union is a sham to pressure group.

‘Rivers expends N90bn on roads in 17 months’

The Rivers Government has spent over N90 billion on the construction of critical roads in the last 17 months, Governor Nyesom Wike has said.‬

Mr Simeon Nwakaudu, the Special Assistant to Wike on Electronic Media, said in a statement made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the governor made the disclosure while declaring open the West Africa Architects Fair (WAAF 2016) in Port Harcourt.

‬‪The governor also said that the infrastructure development programme of his administration had been insulated from political consideration for the attainment of positive results.‬

“We have spent over N90 billion on construction, rehabilitation and reconstruction of roads, bridges and jetties.
“This money has effectively delivered over 80 roads while work is ongoing on the construction of about 35 new roads, spread across the three senatorial districts of the state.‬

‪”Most importantly, in order to derive maximum value for money spent, we have insulated our infrastructure development and delivery master plan from political considerations by ensuring that the designing, construction and supervision of all our roads are handled by reputable professionals and construction companies.”‬

‪According to Wike, his administration has overcome the initial challenges of empty treasury, unpaid salaries, insecurity caused by closed courts and a weak economy.‬

‪”When we assumed office, we met a state that was at the lowest rung in all indices of development.

“Besides an empty treasury, we inherited months of unpaid salaries to civil servants and a totally broken infrastructure.

“The poor security situation was exacerbated by the prolonged closure of the courts for over 12 months, leading to unprecedented capital flight and disinvestments.‬

‪”However, 17 months after, we have recorded remarkable achievements in several areas of development.”

He said that his administration’s priority was to clear the backlog of salaries, fix broken roads and transport infrastructure and create jobs by reflating the economy.

“In all these, we have successfully delivered.‬

‪”For instance, apart from clearing the arrears of salaries, we are among the very few states with proven capacity to meet our financial obligations to civil servants, contractors and vendors.”

The governor lauded Nigerian Architects for their contributions to the development of the country.

He recalled that since his days as council chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area up to becoming the o Minister of State for Education and now governor, he had been collaborating with architects to deliver quality projects.‬

‪In his remarks, the President, Nigeria Institute of Architects, Mr Tonye Braide, said that members were working towards developing new cities that would help grow the economies of different countries.‬

‪NAN reports that WAAF 2016 is a gathering of architects and allied professionals from across the West Africa sub-region.

if na two make give us, its better than nothing!!!! honestly, I want start throwing shades...its all NUT fault..teachers are hungry people...so The government tries to use them...doctors have all being paid,nurses, those in the health sectors, ministry of education, different ministries, lecturers...etc. Now its the teachers turn...the excuse they(teachers) constitute the largest number of rivers work force, as if its my fault that there many student, pupils in rivers state..Diaries God no wahala...na me find the work so I go endure. I thank God for it....But one thing is certain,I won't end my career in a classroom heaven forbid!!!!..so they should just enjoy whatever they think they doing!!!!.

...which info you don get or bring for the forum....one thing remains real and true...we are being owed monies whether na next week, next month or year it would be paid. these rumours, speculations would only stop when we are all paid....me I hear my own joor

Ppl keep telling me "ur own better say u dey work",but I don't know if that statement makes sense or these individuals are earnestly seeking punches from me..........

...tutudame....e make sense because I know some people who will gladly accept this employment and would be satisfied being owed, because they hold the notion that if government owes its workers they would definitely pay. But, times have changed we have politicians in government who are crooks, greedy and liars who can short change the people for their selfish gains. so its better for workers to demand their rights.

they started work on september salary two weeks ago at the min of finance. Was told by a staff there. So salary may come early but dnt know if the months owed will be paid.

....if they don't pay me anything as in arrears I would just do the job anyhow...one time a week....

was not paid august salary so went to the ministry and I meet so many others who did see anything. We went to the the biometric venue where we learnt about an other batch 8 null list which will or has been sent to the ministry of finance. Some persons were recaptured immediately becos their record from the first capture wasnt saved properly. So if u dey here and u didnt see august salary like me for ur own sake run to the biometric venue. Forget email and twitter handle.

…this their batch 8 no dey finish....I hope they pay everybody's entitlement so we can focus and do our job.

My Principal also call to know if we did receive August salary.

......nah, nah....in the format.. used for compiling the names of staffs there is a column for number of months owed which included those not paid since Feb....wait!!!! so there a persons who are yet to receive August?...na wa!

NUT..have directed schools to compile names of staff being owed because its like the governor is taking them for granted and feigning ignorance...I saw the format from a colleague who attended the meeting...the whole thing just made my feet to wobble...Good, gracious and merciful GOD....when will the whole episode of non payment end. So governor WIKE wants to deny me six f****king months worth of money, all for what?.....

I heard of a supposedly NUT meeting ....does anyone know the outcome of the meeting?

some persons here stayed at home for years before getting this job n others got dis job immediately after their NYSC. so no body should scorn at anybody who feels to report to work. we are only writing online. my advice is if u can go to work but dot compel or abuse others whose conscious can't allow dem stay at home. let's wait till 8th of October, to c wat our leaders will do. do not fall victim ooo. nobody noz wat dis pple are up to.

.....sorry I guess your a non indigene because of your fears of wat people will do.....some old staffs in my school don't bother to come to work.... I now see the reason why! Government, don't take education and teachers seriously.. how would one give his best without motivation?...
