aradeola: Irrespective of when admission starts, resumption to schools in Finland is always August/September. They don't do those multiple resumption like US, UK or Canada. This is the position as far as I know but maybe someone else has another experience or perspective. Australia is really good because it's English speaking but it's truly expensive |

hikiki: Not at all. Waec is only needed for bachelors |
Travel / Re: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by Outstandingmam: 7:34pm On Jul 09, 2023 |
Sottihoma: Your waec or neco is what will give you admission. However for some very competitive schools, in addition to your waec or neco, they'll ask for SAT. So my advice is to do SAT if you can to boost your chances. Visit studyinfo dot fi and check through the requirements of your desired school |

Onyxunlimited: I don't know about a specific amount of time the funds have to be in your account. The most important thing to the Finns, from my experience, is that the source of the funds is strong enough to keep up the support after you get to Finland. However, you can keep it for like 6 weeks before application to give yourself more confidence 1 Like |

ednut1: Very true. The subsidies had to go at one point. The window for arbitrage was too wide. People in the UK who aren't making enough there will see shege. |

Yeah it's obviously been devalued since they mentioned unification of rates. I'd been expecting this and you can trust the banks to pick the most extreme point in the range. I had assumed they'll stick to the I & E window which is around N663 or thereabouts. I wonder what Union Bank will tell me now. I have my tuition fees pending since May and my upkeep allowance pending since February!! Odiegwu!! |

hikiki: All the universities give scholarships. Some give 40%, some 50%, 70% and some even give 100% depending on how impressed they're with your previous education. Also a lot of universities, particularly the universities of applied sciences, give scholarships of as much as 50% to every successful applicant to their school irrespective of how good your previous education was. There's also early bird discount which some universities give e.g Savonia UAS gives 50% early bird discount on tuition fees to every admitted student. Like I advised you before, visit the portal and go through the courses. You must find scholarship opportunity. 2 Likes |

dohyinsohlah: If they need additional information or documents, you should get a mail on that on or before Tuesday next week. If that mail doesn't come, then you should get a decision (most likely positive) within 2 weeks. Relax your mind 1 Like |

Travel / Re: Studying In Finland (free Tuition) by Outstandingmam: 11:32am On Jun 16, 2023 |
dohyinsohlah: You don't need to fret. It's the normal procedure. They'll send you a mail for more information and documents or a mail indicating a decision if they have everything they need from you. Since they're already considering your application, I think you should get a response within 2 to 3 weeks |

Pullout: A Bsc is your next logical step. I wouldn't like to teleguide you but if you've been learning programming then maybe a bachelors degree in Computer science/Information Technology/Software engineering might be a very good field to go into. It'll be nice to write SAT to improve your chances at getting into the top universities in Finland. The main route to getting in is the entrance examination anyway. You'll need money for tuition fees, residence permit application etc. The next admission season starts in Dec/Jan so you have time now to start gathering resources and also preparing for the entrance examination. Visit the portal @ studyinfo dot fi to get started. Good luck @teepearl, I responded to your mail. @Ladiesdream, mailer demon gets it when I try responding to your mail |

teepearl: If I was in your shoes, this is how I'll approach it because at 15, I will not send my child to a foreign country to attend university. Infact I won't even allow my 15 year old to attend university yet in Nigeria. He's still under 18 so can comfortably fit under your application. I'll suggest you apply yourself and he goes as your dependant. He's still young enough to attend grade school for a year or get into the IB program which is like A-levels or even the vocational program. He'll use that period to also learn Finnish before he turns 18 and can then attend university for free even though he'll now need to have his own permit. In the meantime, he can write SAT. That's the only extra qualification that will aid an undergraduate application. If he scores very well, it can aid scholarship consideration in case he has to study in English. Tuition fees Vary from school to school but you can expect between €8k and €13k before scholarship or early bird discount. You didn't mention your marital status because that will also affect these plans to some extent. Your HND will get you a bsc. Application starts in December for a few universities but most universities start application on January 4th. 5 Likes 1 Share |

Politics / Re: Assuming OUK Didn't Return To Senate by Outstandingmam: 12:38pm On Jun 13, 2023 |
Pls stop all these lamentations. Did you expect the tinubu that kalu campaigned against in the primaries to support his aspirations? If you were talking of Osita Izunaso, it could have even made some sense. Would you have done so if you were in tinubu shoes? Politics is all about interest. Ask orji Kalu why he had another candidate in the APC primaries and even tactfully told the world he didn't vote tinubu in the presidency. Ben kalu, just like Onofiok Luke, though a PDP, had been a loyalist of Gbaja since he came to the house and he reaped his investment. Kalu is an adult and crying over what you know you didn't work for is very childish and shameful 4 Likes |
