Will the request for only 1 transcript through out the application and acceptance. cos am seeing stuffs know like courier services will be needed etc. Do we need the services of the courier at the application stage also? Sorry pls

Everything about application is done online on the portal. You can upload the transcript you have to the portal however, that will not suffice until they get the physical copy from your former school.

Your transcript will be sent to each Finnish university you apply to by your Alma mater by courier services of course

Emefiele is feeling it today

ENGINEERG:
GODWIN EMEFIELE: A brilliant Banker that was used and messed up.

Godwin Emefiele finished as one of the top students in his class when he obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Banking and Finance.
He is also an alumnus of Stanford University, Harvard University and Wharton School of Business. He was a wonderful lecturer, and he performed excellently well as Managing Director of Zenith Bank.
After 18years of Banking experience, he moved to CBN. And in 2014, he was made the CBN Governor by former president Jonathan. Till after the Jonathan tenure, Nigerians didn't complain about him.

Buhari came in 2015, and thereafter, Nigeria economy Nosedived and all policies of CBN aggravated our situations. Buhari retained Emefiele for his 8yrs in power, inspite of the glaring economic woes. So far now, Godwin Emefiele, unarguably is now the worst CBN governor in Nigeria history.
But in reality, it was Buhari Government that allegedly used him for everything he did, which caused pain to Nigerians, most expecially multiple foreign exchange and Naira redesigning. Indirectly, Emefiele allegedly acted BUHARI Scripts.

Imagine, with his bad policies, he was not removed. He was rewarded with another 5 years term in 2019. During the last election, he wanted to become the president too, and APC Form was purchased for him. Funnily, he didn't resign and Buhari didn't remove him. We cried then for his removal, but the president didn't act against him.
Even, he ought to have been arrested in several times, but Buhari and his people protected him again. Few months ago, after the allegation of financing terrorism and financial crime against him, DSS wanted to arest him but when Emefiele returned to Nigeria after spending several weeks away, military personnel and intelligence officers were deployed to ensure that he was not arrested by the DSS.
The then CBN governor headed to his office after his return with massive security, specifically military protection.

Some people didn't know that so many people in government were benefiting from the failed system Emefele headed. And these Beneficiaries suddenly became Billionaires from multiple foreign exchange, Anchor borrowers programme etc.
But as usual, a new government is now in power, and he is now the Sacrificial Lamb for what he was used for. And he deserves to be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

But this is a lesson for everyone. Just do what is right, and don't let any boss/people use you for their selfish gains. Now he has soiled his family name after a wonderful career in the banking industry.

@OP, you're very correct. I wrote the thread below after the design crises.

https://www.nairaland.com/7609833/lessons-learned-naira-design-crisis

Anybody that worked for buhari is in danger. Tinubu has the good fortune that they blocked him from buhari govt and most of those hating him today were celebrating when the cabals were showing him shege. Now nothing that happened in the buhari regime can ever be linked with him.

I really feel for Emefiele

Thanks..what if we use the that her University sent to previously, would the accept since is not coming from us directly. Y am asking all this is cos we went through a lot before we got the initial trancpt after paying so much

I don't understand what you mean here but the rule is: Academic transcripts must come directly from your former university. There's no ambiguity or beating about the bush. Infact, some Finnish universities will tell you exactly how they want your university to handle the envelope.

Good morning, tanks for your Swift respone. If I get you correctly, she can upload the transcript at the application stage? Then at wot stage would the demand it from her University

There's always space to upload transcript on the studyinfo dot fi page during application stage. However, most universities would want the copy direct from the applicant's university to reach them latest 28th April which is about 3 months after application closes.

However, you should follow the instructions from the particular university or universities you're applying to

2 months

Boss, what happened is her uni had previously sent the transcript to a school she tried applying for few months ago,we couldn't meet up,thou we used an agency Sha. So we requested for it to be sent to her mail box to be used subsequently. So are u saying she can't upload it to any University that requests for her transcripts? Sorry to worry yo sir

As long as it's coming from her, they won't accept it as authentic. During application, she can upload so that it aids her application but if the university doesn't send it to the Finnish school directly, they won't give her the admission

It's not so difficult. Just ensure the documents required are submitted. Their resident permit application process is quite straightforward and transparent

Masters is expensive, Tempere university masters course on software engineering is €12k, I read vocational is free as long you understand the language to an extent.

If you're studying in Finnish language, all courses are free however if you'll receive your lectures in English, you'll pay the fees. All courses are also subject to scholarships so search for scholarship opportunities in Tampere.

I'm a frontend web developer and I already have my B.Tech in computer engineering but I'm looking for a cheaper way to migrate to Finland, do you think applying for vocational school will be okay for me, I will be applying for software development though.

Also is it possible I drop out after a year or two if I get a better job, most software jobs is about what you can do rather than your degree.

I understand I might have to learn their language first.

With your IT knowledge, settling down would be easier for you even if you don't speak the language. Why not just apply for a masters? You might even get a job before you found up.

If you're married, your wife could apply and you go as her dependant. This will give you access to work 247 enabling you to get a full time role

Pls,as a dependent wishing to follow wifey, would I need to also apply for resident permit or would here student resident permit cover mine? And in the application of the resident permit, would there be need to be present too in the embassy here in Nigeria? What if after the tuition fees has been paid and the embassy declines the permit, pls what happens to the money paid. Sorry for asking too many questions

You'll have to apply for the permit together even if you'll fill a separate form. Your getting it is dependent on her getting it which is dependent on you all providing all required documents.

You won't need to do an interview in most cases. Only your wife, as main applicant, will do the interview.

If you're declined the permit but you've not started having classes (e.g online) yet, your full fees will be refunded. If you've started receiving classes, you'll forfeit half of the fees( that's spring semester fees)

Thanks for your response. I am not too proud to work. Once I leave the shores of this country, I'm on my own. I have to do all to survive. However, I need to ask what kinda jobs?? What's the pay like Just so that I can brace myself for what's coming.

Yeah I got in through the waiting list, I guess that explains why I didn't get the scholarship. I haven't accepted the admission but just incase money no quick complete, can I Defer the admission?

Concerning my Fiancée, let's say I come back in a year to marry her, what's the process like in getting her to join me?

Finally, will I be needing proof of funds for either residence permit or visa application??

Thanks.. Look forward to hearing from you.

Pay for small jobs like cleaning, restaurants, delivery is around €11/hr on the average and you can work 30hours a week.

Check the website of the school for information about deferring. I don't know much about it.

I don't think you should bother about your fiancee for now. The process is very drawn out. Strive to get in first.

You'll need evidence of proof of funds for at least 1 year to apply

I'm yet to apply.
Passport 13-09-1990
Waec 13-10-1992

An objective look at the dates should tell anyone that it's an honest mistake.

I really have no idea how they'll take it but to be on the safe side, get an affidavit very quickly and get it attested along with your waec certificate at the ministries of education and foreign affairs in Abuja.

Then you might need to legalize it at the Finnish embassy. That'll take at least 60days and €220 payment to VFS.

I just got a B.Sc admission to University of Applied Sciences , Oulu, Finland for Spring 2023.

I will try to raise the tuition which is 8000 Euros . I applied for scholarship but I have not gotten it yet.

My Question is can I work over there to raise subsequent tuitions and also I have a Fiancee, can she join me later into my study and be dependant. Thank you

Congratulations on your admission.

Oulu is the biggest city in the north of Finland. If you're ready to work and aren't too proud, you'll get small jobs that'll make you enough money to sustain yourself. As for your fiancee, she won't get to join you until you guys are legally married.

If your admission came in the waiting list, you'll not get the scholarship. However, you'll get €500 rebate if you pay your fees early. After your first year, you'll get €4k scholarship for subsequent sessions if you register and pass at least 55 credit units worth of courses/session.

Thanks, i appreciate your time and effort to explain to me. I had planned to leave for Finland this year, if it's Jehovah will. I have started reading this thread from the beginning to get myself familiar with some valuable information that i might need, and already treated previously. I have been examining the studyinfo to evaluate programmes/courses they offer. Overally, i plan to go for a B.Sc. programme and/or Vocational programmes, anything that has to do with skills that can help me start a decent and modest living later. Here in Nigeria, although by qualification, i have Master Degree grin

I preferred starting a fresh in Finland if God's will besides, i want something i love with passion or similar to it that involves skills or using my hands.
i am also a Graphic designer by the way. I would preferred the finnish scholarship route if Jehovah's will.

As for the entrance exam, where do we write it?

Because i read it on this thread that --( '"From my research I will not advise anyone to apply for permit in finland just to write entrance exam. The cost is not the problem now.The truth is YOU WILL BE DENIED!, except the exam will not take place anywhere near Nigeria than finland)

Is it worth it applying for B.sc., You view sir?

Like someone responded to you, you'll write the exam online in the comfort of your house.

Keep up the good work.
Which level of education is less competitive in terms of the likelihood of being shortlisted and approved for the programme (Bsc. MSc. Ph.D in term of selection )
Also, Vocational programs, are they less competitive or otherwise?
Do you have an idea of the likely questions asked for BSc.(the subject focus) or if there's entrance exam for vocational programme too?

Thanks

All levels are competitive. Just select the one you think you'll be able to shine through.

Entrance exam follows the same format as our jamb. Tech, medical, science and engineering all require you to write science subject exams. Arts and social sciences will require their own subjects.

I don't know anything about their vocational programs

If it's Masters, you have no choice. TOEFL or IELTS must be done.

If it's BSC, your waec English is enough.

Continue to check. If you don't see cheaper schools, you'll see scholarships

You are living up to your moniker.

Please I will like to know the program that will increase my chances of getting admitted into any Finland school.
Is it Bsc or should I follow the Msc route?
If it's a Bsc, which program has a high chance of admission and getting a job after school? Just advise me as if I'm your younger brother.

Thanks .

It depends on your smartness. Any program can get you into a Finnish school. It's an equal opportunity system.

For the Msc, your letter of motivation and research proposal are key. Work on it very well. Then there's the interview to face if your letter of motivation and research proposal get you across the first check.

For BSC, you will write an entry exam and after a video chat. Just practice very well because that exam tries to embarrass people.

The good thing is that you can apply for 6 courses in the application round and you can apply for both Msc and BSC courses.

Generally IT has been the go to but with layoffs these days, you can never tell. They seem to be opening up nursing, social works and the likes to foreign students. Before, you had to study them in Finnish but now you have English taught programs.

You alone can decide what you can cope with so I'll advise you to use these 7 months before the application portal opens, to browse through the available courses and prepare what you'll need to make yourself stand out. The competition is getting tighter
