Travel / Re: Clarification On Finland Relocation Thru Work Visa by Outstandingmam: 8:48pm On Apr 21
Lasunyoung:
Hello Nairalanders,

I am writing to seek your genuine knowledge and insight on an issue that's beginning to look odd to me concerning my relocation plan to Finland through a work route.
So my story goes like this, My neighbor left for Finland last year September and he has started working almost immediately. After several gisting and all since he got there, I mentioned to him that I would also love to come over since he confirmed that there are nice jobs there. So he told him it was his in-law that helped him with the processing and he could talk to him on my behalf if I'm serious about it. Eventually, he got back to me and told me the requirements and the amount it would cost me. He said he(the in-law) would be the one to help me get the job after which he would start processing my work Visa and Residence Permit immediately.

The Odd part
Now what's strange to me is that, he claims it is from there they would process my visa and I wouldn't have to do biometric, medical and even interview here in Nigeria. That sounds not right to me because with my little understanding, the Finnish embassy is supposed to invite me for an interview at some point before issuing me a visa into their country. My neighbor claims, it is when I get to Finland that I would then do the biometric and medical and within one week they would issue me my residence permit.

I would appreciate someone with a sufficient experience about Finland processes and understanding about the method of processing visa from abroad to help shed some light to this matter for me.

Thank you

That your neighbor is a very evil person who wants to empty you.

Run very far from him

No more free school in Finland.

I also don't think there's a 2-year undergrad course in Finland.

The embassy called requesting I do another udi application
That a mail would be sent to me explaining where I made a mistake on the first udi form i has already which has been submitted so they where like I need to fill another udi form correctly but didn’t explain how it would get to them and I’m yet to receive any mail yet

So no need to fret until you see their mail.

Those guys are usually very detailed and they'll give you a clear guide to make the task easy for you.

I'll advise you to relax and wait for their mail
Travel / Re: M by Outstandingmam: 7:32pm On Feb 10
lurdraay:

Ok outstandingmam that means after filling for the right udi i mite needs to go through the vFS and pay for the vFS service to send the documents to the Norwegian embassy at Ghana, cause I have already submitted my documents previously at the vFS during my first appointment with the vFS and my documents is at the Norwegian embassy Ghana they are the once requesting I do another udi application

Since you're doing a new application, the normal process is to submit your documents at VFS. However, according to what you've told us here, those documents are already with the Norwegian embassy based on your first application.

So now what other documents do you have to submit? Apart from those you submitted earlier?
Travel / Re: M by Outstandingmam: 6:38pm On Feb 10
lurdraay:
Ok mr Botragelad I understand you now but the problem is that I have submitted all my documents, international passport and the udi which I made an error on, to the submission center vFS Abuja, and right now the documents are at the royal Norwegian embassy Accra Ghana so I got a call from the embassy that I filled the application wrongly and would need to apply for another udi
What I want to ask is after I fill the right udi application I will have to go through vFS b4 the udi form can be sent to the embassy at Ghana can’t it not be emailed to the embassy at Ghana cause i have already submitted all my documents during my previous appointment with the vFS global

You need to find out from the embassy. If you can't, then the best bet will be VFS as they're the trusted intermediary between applicants and the embassy.

Usually the embassies give detailed procedures for remediation of faulty applications. I think you should scrutinize their mail to you and if you're sure you've done that, try to ask them for this clarification
Travel / Re: M by Outstandingmam: 6:36pm On Feb 10
lurdraay:
What I want to know is when an embassy request for additional documents after a submission at the vFS center how can the documents be sent to the embassy??

The scanned copies of the additional documents are usually sent online on the visa/permit application portal.

If they need the physical documents, then you'll still need to take it VFS who would forward them to the embassy.

If You have travelled that much then i'm wondering why you are struggling to understand why i jumped in on the op.

The op did not make a mistake, he intentionally engaged in fraud to get a visa, The issue here is different from the example you gave.

When you are traveling to the UK the British govt made it clear how much you need to survive in the UK, many schools demanded for bank statement to make sure you have the money BEFORE they issued you a CAS.

You will not get a CAS or visa unless you have satisfied the school and the embassy that you are financially capable .

Now some 'smart' Nigerians will buy bank statement to send to the school to get CAS and then visa, they travel to the UK with little or no money.

When school demand for their money you start crying unfairness, going to tv stations to report the school, coming to platform like this to create false alarm.

Skynews and ITV have all carried news of Nigerian students reporting their schools to them.

The issue of people who sold all them have to japa is completely different from this particular issue.

I don't support what they did. I've always wanted to open threads or join threads that warn about this but the very harsh, rude and belligerent posts on nairaland always put me off. What's in this life that we'll be fighting nameless people online?

I wish our comrades will understand that not every Nigerian will be able to japa. Some are better off in Nigeria simply they can't afford the japa costs but if I mention that, even you will bring out knife. Small thing you guys will tag us haters who don't want others to get what we have. There are people in Nigeria who won't leave Nigeria even if you offer them a million dollars because they believe they're comfortable here even with all the imperfections.

Just last August, my husband bailed out his cousin who was at risk of homelessness because the house she and her husband saw requested 6 months rent upfront. They were running from pillar to post to borrow money. So should I just continue blaming them or try to see how one can assist? The good thing is that they already had jobs then and they paid back in 3 months.

Of course the milk is already spilt and they have to find a way to free themselves but it'll be terrible of me to keep churning the knife in somebody already feeling horrible mental and emotional pain.

You might have your history with them but to me, even in their 'foolishness', showing them some empathy and hoping they come out of the hole isn't a crime.

No brainer! That is exactly why i can't stand thread like this, they will tell naive Nigerians like Outstandingmam the truth but rather blame the school or Nigerian govt.

If you cheat willingly or not admit that then warn others not to do the same.

I will not encourage anyone to come to the UK for studies with now unless you are coming for research program as the new immigration rules bit harder all thanks to Nigerian and Indian students specifically.

Mr, I'm not a naive Nigerian. I know what obtains. I've been traveling outside Nigeria for vacations as a secondary school student before I thought of going for higher studies so spare me that patronizing tone.

My issue with you and your likes is your huge empathy deficit. I always wished to join my voice to the threads that are opened to warn about unbridled desire to just leave Nigeria but the penchant to tag us as haters prevented me. Imagine how you came swinging into my comment? I don't like Internet arguments and I deliberately avoid them

Nigerians believe they can do anything and it's just not true. This OP and others like him made errors which they shouldn't make. The urge to game the system is in most Nigerians because we hardly follow the rules. I'm a stickler for rules but will I throw my child away because he broke the rules?

He has made his mistakes, he is stewing in it now, why do you think you need to turn the knife? What benefit is it to you? Or to him? Depression is real. I'm only being my brother's keeper pls.

UK as a japa route don cast. That's the basic truth. If you don't have the funds, forget about it. Yesterday I learned that a guy staying in an estate close to ours sold his 3 bedroom fine house for 40m (ordinarily, 60m is too cheap for such) to go to the UK because his wife got care job. They're back to Lagos now hiding from everybody. I can't imagine being in the same shoes with that family but I'm sure they were warned but refused to hear.

You called my mention... Hello and good morning.

Justwise is that kind of person that can't render finanacial assistance to anyone around. There was no unprintable name he didn't called me. Am sure he don't pick any of his relative calls from where he is.

Finally I have gotten a job and things are smoothening and I have gotten used to the system.I wil give another thread after my schooling

To all hustlers who want to change the narrative... We will all be alright, have the thick skin and keep pushing.

Yeah it's you I was referring to.

I almost cried reading all the very harsh comments they threw your way on that thread. How can these folks be so heartless? Mistakes have been made and you've obviously learned your lesson which is why you came to warn people yet these sanctimonious folks still wanted to pile on your misery. I'm very happy to hear that you've emerged strong out of it. I hope you keep on soaring.

I wanted to come to UK too but my hubby blatantly refused sponsoring me there because in his words "UK education is simply a business with no human touch and it'll soon cast". I went elsewhere with my kids and my husband sponsoring us from Nigeria so I don't have to face the issues you guys are facing.

I wish the OP a resolution and I hope all intending japa folks will not always think everyone advising caution is a hater. I'm happy my husband refused to be swayed by the fanciful stories we were reading and watching online. Maybe I'd have been wallowing in depression too.

you are obviously full of nonsense and its clearly written all over the bs you wrote here. I don't need a prophet to tell me the sort of individual you are and i will keep saying this.

You and your likes are enablers, the op will not get my sympathy because he did not see anything wrong in what he did. His actions were intentional. Again the school did nothing wrong.

This nonsense you are supporting has led to harsher visa rules for all foreign students, schools are not punishing even students who genuinely fall on the hard side financially.

I laughed when i read post from naive individuals like you attempting to insult me each time i speak against fraudulent characters like the op.

Over 15yrs i have helped countless numbers of Nigerians and non-Nigerians students with their visa issues both here and off Nigeria without collecting a penny not even a gift from them and i have never met and refused to meet a single one of them when they get here.

You are not ashamed to admit that almost 90% students commit visa fraud and you expect the school to lenient.

You should be ashamed of yourself for not having the cognitive ability to understand my posts on this thread. As a mod, one would assume that spending years here would have equipped you with the ability for logical reasoning.

Only a man with limited intellect will misconstrue my empathy for him as support for whatever he did to have the situation he's in now.

If you're not willfully blind, you'll see my efforts to assist Nigerians on the study in Finland thread. Are you or Seun paying me for it? Where on that thread did you see me support illegality? Show me one post I have on that thread where I asked or suggested anybody commit fraud?

If you're surrounded by fraudsters, that's your funeral. Don't tar me with the brush you've been bathing with since only God knows when.

You won't stop me from having empathy for someone who fell into avoidable issues because of desperation. Desperation that people like you encourage when you tag every skeptic of the 'japa craze' a hater

You and your likes, you and many who only cry when they won stupid price for playing stupid game.

I will keep ringing this and i couldn't careless how you feel. The op is not warning anyone about japa, he is blaming the school for demanding for their money.

Where is the money he presented to the embassy during the visa application? That is the real issue here. If he has that money then he wouldn't have any prob with the school changing payment plan.

Once again, like the OP said, go and sit down. You're a toxic individual who thinks too highly of himself and if nobody has told you before, I'm telling you now.

You're such a child. What's with the "you and your likes"? You know me from somewhere? Your clairvoyant powers told you I'm also seeking funds to pay fees? What ignorant arrogance envelops you when you see folks in dire straits come to sound a note of warning to others not to toe their paths? Shouldn't you be amplifying his warnings? What kicks do you get with the high sounding nonsense you always go on with? Kicking someone already down? He doesn't have the money. He's obviously trying to raise the money. What will you now do? Hang him or give him firing squad?

The guy is honest enough to realize what happened to him and he's empathetic enough to try to warn others. Give him a break biko.

Nigerian problem is not really the politicians, our problem is people like you and there are many of you hence the danger ahead.

You people will go to any length to defend fraudulent activities, you hate the truth because you are used to abusing the system, its normal for many of you to use backdoor to achieve your aims.

The op cheated to get a visa and now paying the price for his fraudulent act and many of you are here ignorantly defending him.

Mr moderator, go and rest like the OP told you.

You talk too much a lot of times and your toxicity is very grating. Are you not one of those who attack people who come to warn others about the pitfalls in the desperation of japa?

If you're used to fraud or brought up with fraud, not everyone has your experience. What's pinching you? The guy is already suffering the effects of his bad judgement and he's warning others, what exactly is killing you in that? He's warning people for goodness sakes.

You just talk down on anyone you see. What exactly is your problem?

What the oldies are doing to the OP is quite unfair. The guy only opened a thread to warn others not to fall into the trap. He isn't begging for money or whatever. It takes a lot for him to come out with his story and I think it's a service most should be grateful for.

The few times I come to this forum, I see a lot of people who try to warn others about the japa craze. They try to sound the alarm that not all is as it seems but they're tagged bad belle and enemies of progress who don't want others to get there or that they've failed at getting visas hence the hate. I've wanted to lend my voice to it but I don't have time or energy for Internet toxicity which is so rife on this forum.

You guys should pls give the guy a break. He didn't kill person. The UK that gives everyone Visa knows they need the money. They also know people will not have the money immediately otherwise, why not insist on full payment before they come? Of course they will lose customers that's why. You gave someone a repayment plan and you now change it in the middle of the game, haba!!

You 'established' japarians should chill pls. That's how when one poster called Funclub (or what's his name) opened a thread, using his real experience to ask guys to think twice about embarking on japa, they almost lynched him here.

OP, just try and hang in there. I pray for you to get a way out. I hope you break free soon.

I am just telling Nigerians not to waste funds because not everyone can bare what I am passing through now

It's a very fake news. Those inscriptions are in French, not Finnish. The languages in Finland are Finnish, Swedish and Sami. Infact there are more Arab speakers there than french so why will such a protest, if it were real, be held with French chants and inscriptions?

It's not on any Finnish newspapers. When there was a nude parade in Kuopio, Finland some months ago, all the papers carried it. Finns don't shy away from news like this. Finnish women are some of the most independent minded women in the world.

No, most Finnish women don't even want marriage talk more of polygamy.

Women in Finland protested against men marrying only one wife. They want the men to marry more than one wife as the population of women continue to soar in their country without husbands.

I think this is fake news. The inscriptions on those placards are in French, not Finnish.

Also Finnish women are very independent minded. Most don't even want marriage or want children.

There's no reports of such a protest in Finnish newspapers

Sweden to deport Iraqi national Salwan Momika who attacked Quran

STOCKHOLM

Sweden will deport Iraqi national Salwan Momika, who burned copies of the Quran in recent months.

Migration Office spokesperson Jesper Tengroth told broadcaster TV4 that Momika's residence and working permits will expire April 16.

His permits will not be renewed and he will be deported, he said.

“Our decision is based on the fact that he made false statements in his applications for the permits,” he said, adding there is also a five-year entry ban on Momika.

It was reported that Momika would object to the decision and take the case to the migration court.

Momika burned a copy of the Quran outside the Turkish Embassy in Sweden on June 21.

He made headlines a week later when he burned the Muslim holy book outside a mosque in Stockholm during Eid al-Adha -- a major Islamic religious festival celebrated by Muslims worldwide.

Along with Denmark and the Netherlands, Sweden has faced wide-ranging criticism for permitting public desecration of the Quran under police protection.
