Even though you have had the Cytotec used, you would still have to do a proper ultrasound scan check just to confirm that there is little or no leftovers of conceptus. This is important after every miscarriage or abortion to avoid an acute shock or a chronic PID that may further lead to a life loss or if not, a tubal blockage. Good morning doctor, I'm the lady who wrote you sometime stating issues with my pregnancy which I later lost on the 23rd of last month. Now the issue is that the subsequent bleeding is usually heavy with much clots and pain. It lasts like 3/4 days and slows down a lot or even stops, only to begin again heavily like 2 days later. Sort of on/off but with much clots and pain. I was told that it's an incomplete miscarriage hence the stop and begin process so to go to hospital for flushing of my womb. The fact unfortunately is that we cant afford the amount charged for treatment upon which a nurse friend suggested I take Cytotec, a drug that would induce the remaining tissue and blood to leave my system. I wanted to find out if I can take it instead of the hospital process as we honestly can't afford it. Is it effective and safe,ie it won't affect my chances of getting pregnant again when I want to try? I keep hearing that if I don't flush my womb out at the hospital that I won't ever be able to take in again. Thanks, Worried.

It could have been days gone before passing a reply to this post, what is the present situation on ground now?
Some bleeding are unexplainable and yet normal in pregnancy, some could be a little placenta Abruptio that will not lead to anything but with a disturbing vaginal spotting here and there. During this situation, just learn to have a good bed rest with no serious activity to do. Sex may also be avoided until the bleeding has settles itself out. Remain on your Pregnancy vitamins and remain positive about being pregnant.

Thanks for your reply, doc. I am still bleeding, even clots. Still no pain, still no pregnancy symptoms again...I paused taking the prenatal vitamins but I shall resume as you instructed. Thank you very much.

Modified: I did have a full miscarriage yesterday, doc...seems this one didn't want to stay... how do I know when I've recovered and when can I start trying for another baby again? What are my chances of taking in quickly or what can I do to prevent another miscarriage from happening?

Good morning doc, I'm so glad I stumbled on this thread because I've been worried about my health, esp as I can't really afford to go for a scan right now. I don't really recall my LMP because previously I'd been on preventive injection which after stopping it since August last year, my menstrual flow dates got somewhat messed up. Nevertheless, I estimated my pregnancy to be roughly nine weeks as at last week; but around Thursday or Friday I began seeing slight bleeding with zero pain. Asked around and was told it's pretty normal, but last night before going to bed, I noticed some clots in the blood. Wore a pad just in case, but up till now no discharge again. Thing is, I think, I'm not really sure, but my nausea hasn't been as overpowering as it was before the bleeding, and I no longer feel lethargic/sleepy during the daytime, also the extra sensitivity to smells has reduced...in my first pregnancy all those symptoms did reduce as my pregnancy progressed but with this bleeding, I'm at a loss. My mind tells me it's nothing mostly because I feel no pain whatsoever, even my husband constantly reminds me not to worry since they said it's normal... what do you think is going on in my body, Doc? I'm really worried. Thank you for your time.

I just replied to your email, @ifyalways. My baby is getting better, he has begun raising the shoulder small small with effort. I kept all our correspondence for evidence sake should she try to deny anything here and screenshotted them all including text msgs, emails cos that's mostly how we communicated as she claimed she isn't on WhatsApp. I'd have attached them but I don't have enough MB and the phone isn't mine per se.
