Family / Re: My Wife And 1 Are Expecting Our First Child And This Is What Is Happening by overseasnbeyond: 6:26pm On Jan 11
Stand up to your responsibility to make decision in your home, is your baby and not your mother in law baby.

when I got married 12 years ago, my wife family wanted to dictate the kind of wedding ring to buy as a matter of fact they bought it and wanted me to pay for it. N25,000.
When my wife told me , I sent her back to them that, if they insisted, I used that ring of N25,000, am not interested in the wedding again since they wanted to dictate what to do.
She started crying and begged me to please listened to them, but I insisted NO then, it was like a week to the wedding.
I went to the roadside people and bought me N200 ring and said that was what I wanted, or the wedding be cancelled just to show am in charge of my life.
She agreed and on the wedding day, they try to play me by switching the ring before the pastor blessed it but I quietly whisper to her ear," if i see any ring different from the one I bought, am going to disgrace you in the church and walk out "
She immediately told her friend to put back my roadside ring.
Today we are blessed with 3 children, running business and travelled anywhere in the world
Lesson , you have to stand up to make decision in your home once you got married, let no person dictate what to do in your home.

Valoromega:
We are currently expecting our first child , she should give birth within a this month.

She has requested money for baby things and I have given her over 400k but she hasn’t both the basic things she needs. She usually go with her mom to the market to get the things but they haven’t even both the things the baby will need in the hospital.
They went and bought baby wardrobe even though we already had baby wardrobe that was given to us on our wedding , she also both baby duvet without buying bed , the clothes she bought was for a month old baby , she didn’t even buy the first wear the baby would use , so far I haven’t even seen anything tangible she has bought with 400k plus I’ve given her, she hasn’t even bought the things she needs after delivery .

I don’t know if it’s her mom that’s telling her to buy those things, the mom doesn’t even care where the money comes from , she just demands that we buy this and that .

I was thinking the money I gave her would be enough to buy the most basic things she and the baby needs , now she’s demanding more

Religion / Re: My Take On The BBC Documentary On TB Joshua by overseasnbeyond: 9:30pm On Jan 10
Why You worried about TB Joshua ?
Better put all the energy on yourself so that you can make a footprint before you die.
That man don do his own comot, na you still dey hea.

gidgiddy:
I took my time yesterday to watch all three Episodes of the BBC documentary on late TB Joshua. A number on women of different races and nationalities, British, South African, Zimbabwean, American, Philippines and Nigerian, all came together to talk about TB Joshua

The one thing all these women had in common is that they once all moved from their respective countries to live in TB Joshua's Region's community, Synagogue Of All Nations, SOAN, and became part of his inner circle.

All the women gave horrific and graphic accounts of rape, underage sex, sexual abuse, physical and verbal abuse carried out on them by TB Joshua.

The South African woman claimed she had three abortions due to multiple rape by TB Joshua. The British women told how TB Joshua would send for them only to sexually molest them. The Zimbabwean gavee a story of how TB Joshua raped her as a virgin and underaged.

Even TB Joshua's own daughter came foward to tell how she confronted her father for multiple sexual molestation of women only for him to have her locked up for months and beaten daily.

I was also shocked at the Story of how the SOAN building collapsed, the lie that was told that an aircraft brought it down, and the coverup that followed as well as the 'fake miracles'

Even though TB Joshua is no longer here to defend himself, I believe these women. There is no smoke without fire. A group of women who live in different countries of the world cannot give similar accounts of sexual abuse by one man without it having an element of truth

I believe that TB Joshua was a rapist, sexual predator and a sociopath. I believe TB Joshua used religion to cover up the evil within himself. He operated as a man of God in the light, but was a devil in the dark.

I also believe that there are many well known men of God who are currently doing what TB Joshua did.

Health / Florida Surgeon General, Dr Joseph Ladapo Is A Clownish Anti Vaccine Quack. by overseasnbeyond: 2:55pm On Jan 10
It used to be fairly easy to dismiss Florida's surgeon general, Dr. Joseph A. Ladapo, as a clownish anti-vaccine quack posing a danger mostly to residents of his home state.

That has become harder to do as time goes on, as Ladapo has moved from promoting useless treatments for COVID-19, such as the drugs hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin, to waging an ever-expanding fact-free campaign against the leading COVID vaccines.

I haven't gotten a single job interview on LinkedIn and indeed, the few ones are got are from LinkedIn and a teaching job.
The teaching job is either very far from my place or a very poor salary! Already, I lost interest in teaching even before this time.

I went for an interview in ifo Ogun state, a government approved private secondary school, and the principal proudly informed me that they pay graduates 30K.. This school celebrated her 23rd year anniversary recently and you're paying graduates 30k?? And you expect me to leave SANGO to Ifo, just to take 30k he was even requesting for my original result and referees!

I took my loses and left, after I assured them that I will resume on Monday (yesterday), right now I'm still job hunting but I'm actually not interested in teaching anymore, maybe in Lagos they pay well, definitely not here.

The other jobs I applied for like, sales marketing, receptionist, virtual receptionist and so on, none ever replied me.

Am I doing something different? I am new to job hunting so how do y'all find and locate jobs?

Thanks for your replies

Family / Re: Pls Help Me I Have Anger Issues by overseasnbeyond: 9:11pm On Dec 31, 2023
Anger is a destroyer of man,
when I told my mother I wanted to start a private school about 20 years ago, the first thing she told me was to work on my anger because whoever is going to deal with children and parents (people) must be patience. so, I went back to my room, sat back and think of what normally makes me angry and how to overcome.
I prayed personally about it, after the 7th day . God gave me a strategy to always smiles even if am not satisfied with whatever decision / action happening at that time, then go back home to think about it.
Now here is my strategy.
1. Listen more than you talk.
2. Smile always to people, some people are out there to make you mad.
3. never make a decision when you are so happy or sad.
4. Read books on anger management.
5. Learn to walk away from uncomfortable situation.
6. Create alternative habit to vent your anger.
7. Have you ever sat beside a lake, beach or any running water? try to locate one where you can sit quietly and reassessed situation.

Remember anger can destroy all you built in one day,

bad boy,
Congratulations

MatrixReloaded:

Tomorrow marks it 3 weeks my baby is here with the mother(39 weeks 5 days). She did 4 scans all tru her pregnancy. The latest one was my concern when we notice discomfort amd the report didn't seems well. Remember induction is a forceful way to extract a baby and very painful and most tyms as I was told the baby might be too weak to accept such procedure. You don't want to have to struggle your baby out.
CS was our option, I signed the consent form and my spouse didn't have to eat anything. In the morning around 8am she was already in the ward. After anatesia, the doctor performed the cut under her belle line to expose her gauging uterus. The rest was pulling the baby out and the head was the last to follow.
I watched it like a movie scene with courage and praying.
At the end I smiled and the mother is OK and fully recovered. I don knack her one, but na slow slow 5 days ago self..

Your life experience is a lesson for upcoming but sorry to say that you are a damn fool.
1. You claimed to be a graduate but can't make a crucial permanent lifetime decision.
2. Your mother might have borrowed money from the girl family to send you to school.
3. Your institution needs to withdraw your degree certification because you are NOT worthy to be called a graduate.
4. Your brain must be functioning at a retardation level for you to accept what you never like.

Now to the issue,
My friend the deed had been done, if you never wanted to die young, look beyond the physical appearance of that lady.
See how you can change her lifestyle to match up with your own.
All women are beautiful if you care for them.

Be a man accept it as your cross as long as no records of domestic violence is involved.

Peace and wishing you good luck.

egobetter4me:
I know a lot of you will blame me after reading this and even want to curse me, but this is my sad story and I just want to put it out there for people to learn. Don't ever let your parents decide your partner for you. Even if you have to run away, do it.

I recently got married to an ugly, short, black, smelly, village girl. At first my uncle took me to see her, then we spoke and she came visiting. All these happened in the village.

When I went back to the city, I told my mom I wasn't interested in her any more, but she insisted I must marry her. My mom would always take my joy by telling me about the girl anytime she sees me happy. There was no breathing space. We live together and I pay the rent. I loved her so much that I could do anything for her. She once sold her wrappers/materials and jewelleries, to send me money for school fees.

Anytime she tries to talk to me about the girl, I will beg her and let her understand that young people like to marry who they truly love. I don't want her, I don't love her and I don't think I will ever will.
After all said and done, she still insisted, so I called my elder bro to come talk to her. He came in from another state and spoke with my mom for hours. She did as if she would allow me marry my choice, just for my brother to go. Immediately my brother left, she started again.

My mom has BP. She stopped using her medication and was ailing. she threatened that if she dies, that I killed her. I thought to myself, that if she truly dies, I might live with the regrets for the rest of my life. I really tried but I was defeated. I succumbed. But before marrying the girl, I spoke to her(the girl) that I don't love her and that I'm marrying her against my wish, but I guess she was desperate. She said I shouldn't worry, that the love would grow in the marriage.

We got married. She lives with me and my mom. Even my neighbours were disappointed in me, when they saw her. Church members and friends were all disappointed. I can't start narrating to them how I got here.

We are over a year gone now and she still irritates me. I so much hate to look at her. We've had sex only about 5 times or so and I have to get high to do this. I only kissed her once(at the alter and I cringed)

I cry everyday.....both at home and while hustling. I never envisaged my life to be like this. I had hoped to meet a beautiful, clean and well mannered graduate from the city. Someone I would truly love and she would love me too. I'd hoped that I would meet her, approach her and we start as friends, then lovers, then I would propose and all. I never planned for it to be like this.

I am so sad with my life. Right now, I'm thinking of applying for masters abroad and probably use the means to Japa and never come back again.

My life is so miserable!

Learn from me. Don't ever let your parents blackmail you into marrying someone you don't love. Pls don't. Just run away for months or few years and they will leave you alone.

Woman Who Bragged On Social Media About Her New Job At A Luxury Store Sacked Before First Shift

An online video of how a young woman was sacked by a renowned company in the UK company even before she began her first shift has got many people talking.

Recently employed by Harrods, the lady identified as Akorede but known on TikTok as @korrxss, disclosed that she had not yet started her first shift when she received the notice of termination from the company.

Before the viral video of her dismissal, she had gone viral with a previous video in which she talked enthusiastically about her job at the UK-based luxury department store.

In that first video, she suggested that her social class has shot up because of her new employment, stating at one point:

“I’m dealing with the richest of the rich, who are you dealing with [giggles]?”

@korrxss

Lmk if u want tips on how to get innnn 🥰🥰🤗

But in the second video, her story changes. Sounding disappointed, she told her followers on TikTok that she didn’t even do her first shift at Harrods before she got fired for going on social media.

Akorede wondered who may have sent the footage to the employer after she was fired. She gave the situation further thought and concluded that it taught her an important lesson to avoid posting pleasant news on the internet.

“I got fired! Before I even did my first shift, I got fired. Someone must have sent the video ‘cos I don’t know how they must have found it. I took that video after I attended my induction; I’ve not even attended my first shift.

“That was really sad. I learnt a really valuable lesson; don’t ever tell good news to people or the internet, keep it to yourself. Upon reflection, that was kind of a shitty video; I was just joking and was just excited,” she said in part.

@theshadeborough

Sis really got sacked by luxury store #Harrods before even starting the job, due to a bragging video posted about her new role 🫣👀

Her story has drawn varied reactions online.

There is a process to every claim, she can't just claim DV without report by the police.
The law isn't that crazy.

WilsonBright935:

Chief... It actually depends on what your wife tells the Home Office or the police. If she accuse you of domestic abuse, I'm afraid Home Office/ court could give you 3 months ultimatum to pack your things and leave the UK.

You might as well be given grace to look for COS within a given time.

The best thing now is to secretly look for COS (without her notice if possible). But for the main time, lay low.

And try and work back to back so far your working hour is not restricted. Gather enough money so you can rely on if things go south.

Shalom!!!

#30,000 minimum wage in Nigeria, you bought raw food of #8800, rent and others
What is left?

$$2000 minimum pay @ $10/h on average
Bought $100 worth of groceries can keep you as single for almost a month.

So which one is better?

psalmsjob:
I'm posting this as a response to the topic that made Nairaland front page yesterday; "See What Someone Bought With An Hour Minimum Wage In The UK £10", the link: https://www.nairaland.com/7929193/see-what-someone-bought-hour

UK & US ARE OVER-RATED NIGERIA IS STILL BETTER in terms of cost of living see a practical example why doing a price comparison: 1 pound to 1 naira today is N1,001 so are you saying with £10 x N1,001 = N10,001 you cannot buy everything in that basket and collect change in Nigeria today?

1 Sliced Bread = N800
2 Spaghetti = N1400
1 Gesha = N600
1 live chicken = N3,000
1 75cl soya Oil = N1,400
1 Midium size Butter = N600
2 Gino Tomato paste = N1,000

Total = N8,800 so your change is N1,200 that's if you exchange pound to naira at offical rate and buying at the most expensive stores or high brands. If you exchange at black market rate and buy at public market "days" you will collect as much as N6,000 after buying everything in that basket....that's about £6 left.

very correct but Nigeria is a country with natural resources where people can steal without control in the name of corruption.
almost 90% of government spendings in US come from tax both income and corporate.
Nigerians don't pay taxes, but have you ever sat down to find out how government finance her project,? they are monetary inflow from crude oil.
If they can steal, why not give crumbs to the poor inform of food stamp.

budaatum:
Nigeria is not US where all income is taxed so they have enough left for both educational allocation and food stamps, and putting the small funds we have into education is helping the children who need support, and the society too by reducing ignorance and poverty.

If you can't support your children, please consider birth control or have less sex. Society should not fund your uncontrolled excess.
