Gender imbalance in Nigeria is big problem o. We need more baby boys. I went to a pry school today... They were preparing for inter house sport ... 65% of the students were girls...Girls full everywhere... I was Very worriied Cos d gender imbalance is a ticking time bomb. In the Universities now, 60% of students are girls... In the workplace, more women are taking over the offices. In the next 10-20 years... To see a man who is ready for marriage will be very hard Just my personal opinion |

amicable09:thanks very much for the feedback ... the hopeless tin actually contradicts d basic objectives of the memoir which is to encourage others so... Courtesy of you, I'll review the chapter ... I never give up o.... I hop to release 5 new ebooks rapidly in d next few months ... So... I'm far from giving up... I sent the memoir's back for retouch... D person doing it ... Same person dat did dis one ... Is saying there's no lite in his area to work with Hence the delay I'm not a quitter... I never give up... ![]()

@ amicable09 It's hard for People to understand why I seem "indifferent " to religion ... I believe in God o... But I'm not fanatical about my belief. ![]() You see... Success has many friends... If you "have money ", they (church, banks etc) will court and respect you... Because of crumbs they will get from u. But if you are struggling to aspire, instead of supporting you, most of them will try to use your condition to exploit you.... If ppl invite me to dia church 4 example, I don't go in 80% of d time cos I know the pastors will want to exploit my hearing loss and turn me to "healing specimen" ![]() Once butten, twice shy. You won' t understand until u read d chapter on christ embassy .... You're right... I don't see myself as an employee.... Even if I get a job now, its a matter of time b4 I save up needed capital and move on... The reason for that is because .... I'm an " improvising" kind of person ... In d data entry work I did... Wen d server became slow, ... Others struck to one browser window... But me, I used 6 browser windows rigged with 5 tabs each total 30 tabs...!!.. Before you say jack, people started complaining dat I'm eating all d work... Why should I wait for a minute for d server to record an entry wen I can simply roll to another tab? ... Things like dat often results in jealousy and back biting against me in d workplace ... You recall in d "To sponsor or not to sponsor" chapter when General ' s manager deliberately didn't submit a document meant for his boss... If I see job, I will take it... But wen ppl start complaining dat I'm out-running dem... I know what's up.... congrats on ur catch o... But I was surprised say u skip FIRS cos of looking good... D boss won't b there Forever ... Few yrs dey ll post him away and u can start looking anyhow u wish... Lol ... Cheers ![]() |

I can't buy a Nissan with engine lower than 3.5L... Thought lower ones're good and run fine if properly serviced... They aren't rugged. By rugged ... I mean.. if you push Nissan too often to it's limits, so many faults will start coming up here and there and you'll be visiting mechanic every month till you'll be forced to park the car. If used mildly and treated lik an egg, Nissan is good... I love the fast acceleration. ... But if used roughly.... They will go kaput in no time. That I why I said... Don't buy Nigeria used Nissan. |
Never buy a Nigeria used Nissan o... Gear and electric problems will finish you ![]() |

I feel very bad going through this thread. There are some times when I need assistance ... But don't ask because of things like this. Oga Lexusgs430 ... Heavens bless you sir. I do give to people who clain to be stranded too if I have and my guiding philosophy is that... As far as giving will not make me broke... If I can comfortably give without feeling guilty dat I didn't help afterwards ... I give freely. In my first Journey alone from lagos to delta, I was supposed to drop at agbor and take bus to obiaruku/abraka but didn't know until I got to asaba... I didn't know where I was... I slept at d motor park before Coker junction dat night... The next day, one beautiful call center babe gave me moni to go home... That was in 2006.. Last yr, a well dressed guy walked up to me at d same spot and said he's stranded and needs to get to ughelli... Other people refused to give him money because they thought he's a scammer... But I thought.. If i ignore d guy, my conscience won't let me rest... But if I giv him something, even if he's a scammer, my conscience is free... I gave him N400 ... He disappeared ... I had no regrets ... I got home safe and sound. But now ... There are times when I need sponsor for some projects and I'm both afraid and ashamed to ask potential sponsors because of what these people are doing ... the first thing they will think is that I want to scam them... it's very painful. Honestly, I don't blame rich folks who will rather burn their money than help others. |
dare2differ:They didn't pass the CCT bill because it will not add money to their pockets in anyway ... Why didn't public opinion stop them from buying 109 SUVs at inflated rates or wardrobe allowance saga? If the CCT bill would add money to their pockets... They would pass is sharply . Yes... To stone a misbehaving Senator is cool... Only if you can reach him and he must not know your identify because stoning him doesn't mean he's been sacked... He will definitely come back for you with MOPOL or his boys. Then he will return to the senate and never return to his constituency until 2019 while enjoying salaries and allowances all the way. That is why I strongly advocate changing Nigeria ' s system of government because this present system will corrupt even an angel |
dare2differ:The reason why you and I aren't protesting is because it is useless and dangerous to protest in Nigeria. Ondo people have been protesting for 2 years now over BEDC ' s total black out... Nothing has come out of it. People who protested for Kanu ' s release were shot with live bullets... Farmers protesting the destruction of their farm by nomadic grazers are tear gassed, arrested and locked up in prison. The government will wait for 10,000 people to die as a result of accidents on a bad road before patching up the road. If aggrieved people resort to bombing pipelines and vandalizing transmission cables instead of protesting... I don't blame them. |
daretodiffer:You too nko? What have you done to protest about bad leadership in Nigeria? Where were you and your neighbors and friends ... Why una no go protest ...?? #DoAsISayButNotAsIDo... #Armchair Critic...!!.. ![]() |
daretodiffer:No 1: is not possible in Nigeria because of tribalism.... In other places where they have just 2 or 3 races/ethnic groups in a country it is easier to speak as one... But with Nigeria ... Everything boils down to tribalism... During council/ward elections... Villagers are not one... Bickering over which section of the village will produce d councillor usually crop up... If a councillor gets "elected " and he is not performing... The councillor' s clan/quarter will not support other village quarters to remove "their son ". At the local government level, it is same thing. At State level... Let me use Delta as example ... Delta has over 8 ethnic groups within it... Urhobo, Aniocha, Ijaw, Isoko, Ukwuani, Ika, Itsekiri, Ilaje .... If the governor has urhobo father and itsekiri mother and his wife is from isoko... If the governor is corrupt ... Urhobo, itsekiri and isoko people will not allow "their son" to be removed. So when it comes to politics/money matters in Nigeria ... Everything boils down to ethnicity .... They only speak with one voice if the representative is "stingy "... 2. It is not as if citizens are not asking or they are not complaining... I have told you earlier that complaints, protests and demonstrations amount to nothing in Nigeria because the law shields elected representatives... So if people protest, riot and demonstrate, it doesn't have any effect on a sitting political executive.... So it is somehow ... Useless to protest in Nigeria ... People have been protesting against fulani herdsmen... What has Buhari done about it? Nothing 3. Madam, you're speaking from both sides of the mouth... How can common people stone a political office holder with mopol around him? Prime Ministers in other countries resigned over panama papers but in Nigeria, has anybody resigned? If people resort to stonning corrupt representatives, you will say they're barbaric... They are primitive ... Etc... What you are advocating ... Here... It is called "to gang up against somebody ".. all the person you want to remove has to do is to form a rival support group ... That's all 4. It is like you have not served in or don't live in Nigeria ... That is why you say corpers should speak with "one voice "... Oh dear... You're so funny... Corpers are posted to different states, LGAs and PPAs... What happened to Rivers corpers does not concern a Sokoto or Enugu corper in any way... Same thing with corpers posted to different LGAs. 5. What is the meaning of this nau? .. if you don't change /amend the constitution of Nigeria ... To remove, stone, protest or sue an elected representative is not possible in Nigeria .. ... All these things you are talking about... Holding representatives responsible et al... With immunity clause in the Nigerian constitution, it is not possible ... You will have to change the law/amend the constitution first... And just like some people don't want the constitution changed ... You are against changing the constitution too... You want common people to hold their representatives responsible but you don't want Nigeria' s constitution to be altered to give the people /states/ regions more power... How will this work? ... How can you make omelette without breaking the egg? 6. So because Abacha/IBB are military rulers gives them liberty to rule anyhow? Because they are military rulers gives them justification to loot the the treasury, arrest and detain people anyhow they wish? A democratically elected representative will use the same excuse to prevent people from holding him responsible ... The law says he is innocent until proven guilty... And since common folks cannot lay hands on evidences to prove him guilty.. he will go scot free. So... Nigeria, the way it is, can never work... The earlier you admit and accept it, the better for you. All we are saying is... Restructure Nigeria ... If you don't want Nigeria restructured... Then break up the goddam country ...!!.. |
daretodiffer:The present representatives were not impoted from jupiter... They are from within the people... Like you ... One day you could b an elected representative. .. you will be thinking. .. when I get into government, I will do this, I will do that... But when you enter government, everything about you will change... You will see people eating billions... What they do with their billions does not concern u coz it is their money and you cannot complain... Saraki brought 109 new SUVs at double price.. even though buhari and Nigerians at large dont like it, we simply cannot prevent saraki from spending senate money anyhow he wishes... And you cannot remove, recall or jail saraki because he has IMMUNITY and immunity is part of the constitution. So here is Where your opinion is faulty... In Nigeria, citizens cannot hold their representatives responsible for anything because the constitution shield them from being accountable... And d citizens cannot arrest and prosecute a sitting representative until he or she has left office. So if a governor /president/Senator likes, he should eat all the state's allocation alone... There is nothing the people can do to remove him... Look at Abacha/Babangida... They looted the country dry... People protested and protested... Abacha/IBB were unmoved because they have IMMUNITY ... So the problem is not with the representative... But with law/constitution... If you become a representative, that law will most likely corrupt you... If people protest against you, that is their wahala because they cannot remove you until your tenure expire. Now... Culturally ... Hausa, fulani, yoruba, bini and other ethnic groups that practice absolute monarchy ... They cannot criticise their leaders because it is against their culture to "abuse elders "... Fayose was criticising Buhari... Yoruba elders came out and said Fayose should shut up because it is against yoruba culture to criticise leaders/elders... If they can tell a whole governor to shut up... What will they tell ordinary people that criticize them? .. "go and die...!!..".. so if a leader is corrupt or bad in yoruba/hausa side, it will require a higher power to remove the bad leader... Citizens are powerless... They cannot criticize ot complain. It is only the Igbo that don't practice monarchy that have the courage to call the bluff off their leaders... If a representative is bad, a town hall meeting or demonstration is all required to remove him.. Most unfortunately, Nigeria' s constitution, federal written and unwritten laws are moulded after the hausa/fulani/yoruba/bini absolute monarchy system ... Nigeria ' s democracy is actually tenure based Executive absolute Monarchy system . So if a representative becomes corrupt... The law protects him from being removed until d end of his tenure... If he like, let him embezzel all his state's allocation and revenues ... Let him grab as many lands as he like... You cannot do anything to him until he has left office... He cannot be held responsible for anything because he uses the law to support his actions... No demonstration or complaint can remove him and you cannot take him to court because he is immune to the courts and so he like he can disregard any court order... It is after his tenure of 4-8 years have elapsed ... After all the damage has been done.. that is only when he can be arrested and charged to court According to Nigeria' s law, a suspect is innocent until proven guilty ... Instead of preventing crime, this law actually promotes crime... If I steal money and destroy the evidence and hire intimidating lawyers... Nobody can convict me... That is Saraki for you Holding representatives responsible is not possible because the Nigerian constitution/laws gives them immunity from all that... So the problem is not with the people or their representatives... But with the constitution/law What igbo/biafra agitators are saying is... Change the constitution ... Change these laws... Restructure Nigeria ... If you cannot change those laws... Then break up the country... The political class, Northern folks and half of western folks don't want the laws amended or changed... Many constitutional conferences have been held but these people voted against changing the constitution ... So what should those who want the constitution amended do? They should protest? Courts ordered Kanu ' s release FG disobeyed... People protested and some were killed ... And you're talking about holding representatives responsible ... Ipob should hold hold buhari responsible for disobeying court orders and killing unarmed protesters abi? That is not practical and will not solve any problem ... Now... Because some people are okay with Nigeria the way it is... Does who want to change Nigeria' s laws or break up should sit down and enduring a system /laws that are detrimental to them? Because you don't like regionalism... Does it mean people who want regionalism should go to hell? If your answer is YES ... If you ever become a representative in Nigeria ... You're going to be a dictator. Those who want Nigeria ... Let them have Nigeria .... Those who don't want Nigeria ... Let them go... Simple as ABC... How they are going to govern themselves after leaving Nigeria is their headache |
daretodiffer:Do you know how boko haram started? Local Politicians used them to win elections and later turned and tried to disband them... Boko haram was not created by the FG so rightly the FG was not concerned until they started bombing people .... In saner climes the governor should have resigned but what did shettima do? He joined the opposition party and frustrated the FG's efforts to quell the insurgency... When Goodluck First sent soldiers to borno, northern soldiers and d soldiers killed insurgents, you know what borno/northern elders did... They cried out that Jonathan was using army to kill their youths... The people said they don't want soldiers ... Even Buhari used the issue to campaign against GEJ ... Now viz Nigeria ' s system ... Do u think it is right to use federal revenue to fight a problem created by local politicians? The money that was supposed to be used to build infrastructure for oyo, edo, taraba, enugu etc were used by the FG to buy military hardware to fight boko... If you are oyo governor and the FG used part of your allocation to fight boko, you will surely protest ... The governors protested against Jonathan for withdrawing from d Excess crude acc to buy arms to fight boko... If you were the president, you are trying to clean up a big mess created by other people yet the same people are frustrating your efforts to clean d mess .. you will ask yourself ... "What is d matter with these people??" You talked about Bornu governor contacting cheif of army staff... Things don't work like that... The President controls the army and the police.... Without the president' s approval, the army cannot do anything ... Now consider this scenario where the governor was Fighting the president... President deployed soldiers to fight boko... The people said they don't want army and even gave info to boko about army movements, and the governor called for withdrawal of soldiers in favor of amnesty and later scuttled the armesty process ... If you are d chief of army the governor calls you, will you pick his call? ... You say call NGO... NGO?? What can NGOs do about govt matters? Tinubu tried to build ENRON power power plant for lagos alone but later gave up because he would have to send d power to d national grid first... You can't call d bluff off the national grid cos without it you can't transmit power... Without unbundling the grid, you cannot generate power for oyo alone...Except you want to build a localized city with its own transmission systems, there is no way you can bypass the national grid... Akpabio... The projects he did did not clash with the FG... Also he had good relationship with Jonathan so Jonathan helped him... Without Jonathan' s support, akpabio wouldn't do wat he did with akwa ibom... Look at Amaechi, he quarrelled with the FG and used his state's funds to sponsor APC... What did Amaechi achieve at the end of the day? Nothing ... In summary, Nigeria is too diverse to work together as one because there are so many conflicting interest within it... And these interests work against themselves... Even if everywhere has good representatives, Nigeria will still not work because what is happening in borno does not concern oyo man... It is wrong to make everybody suffer or bear stigma for problems created by other people... It is wrong to use revenue and resources produced by ND to fight boko because ND doesn't concern boko and boko doesn't concern ND.... It is wrong to generate power in oyo and carry the power to enugu or jalingo while oyo people are in darkness To some people, the present system is good, but to others, the system is bad... Monopoly of lagos port is good for lagos but bad for ND/South East and they cannot build their own ports because the law prohibit them from doing so... 13% derivation is good for Niger Delta but bad for the north... Even if you have good representatives... HOW DO YOU RECONCILE THESE CONFLICTING INTERESTS AND MAKE THEM WORK IN HARMONY? .... So the best thing is either practice confederation/regionalism or break up Nigeria... Let people develop the way they want instead of trying to develop everywhere at the same time ... Let people eat from three or four bowls instead of everybody eating from one bowl... Nigeria in reality, is a semi-unitary state... Not federal state. .. in true federalism, the states take care of themselves but in Nigeria, no state can survive without federal allocation ... Nigeria ' s federal system is a ruse, 419, wayo, big fraud ... It will never work the way it is |
daretodiffer:Look carefully ... You obviously can't see the crux in your own point... The problem afftects all Nigerians... Yes agreed ... But you didn't think deeper... The goat owned in common... Usually dies of hunger...!!.. If the "problem" is affecting everybody, then who is going to solve it...??.. If communal bathroom /toilet gets dirty... Who will clean it? If a problem afftects everybody in Nigeria, it is no longer a problem... It becomes a norm.. Epileptic power, bad roads, corruption, .. just look at what dey call "maga "... Maga initially was 419... But later Nigerians accepted it as a way of life... These nomadscattle rearers... Nomadism is "normal way of life" to them... They don't see it as a problem... But to farmers, nomadism is a big problem... How do you reconcile the nomad and the farmer? See, nobody cares about solving a problem he or she didn't create.... If I am a ijebu man and boko haram is killing people in borno.. what concern me with boko haram? Did I, in ijebu give boko haram bombs and guns and tell them to go and kill people in borno? In reality I don't have any business with boko/borno... If I say you should go and fight boko... You wil say, am I the one that started boko? You have never even been the "north " ... Their matter does not concern you...!!.. Now look it from infrastructure development angle... If hausa man from katsina is president and a federal expressway is bad in calabar/enugu. As a katsina man, d bad road in calabar/enugu does not concern him.... Abi is it katsina people that use/spoil the road in calabar/enugu? Similarly, if yoruba man ekiti man is president and there is no light in whole loxal government in sokoto, it does not concern the ekiti president... Look at Nigeria ' s present fuel scarcity... If somebody comes and say he want build 3 refinaries in niger delta, northern lawmakers, civil servants, nnpc northern folks will do everything they can to oppose it because a refinary in bayelsa does not concern them... Now it is like you don't know about "quota system ", national grid, federal road, federal character, land use act and other useless laws... U don't gerrit? If bayelsa has no power suppy, there is nothing bayelsa governor can do about it because power is shared from the NATIONAL GRID... No governor will waste his time investing in something that will be carrried away to where he doesn't even know... Delta has 3 power plants yet most of the state's interlands are in darkness ... Even if okowa build 5 more power Stations... It will not have any effect on local power supply cos the generated power... Law... Belongs to... One Nigeria/national grid.. Akpabio wanted to build ibaka sea port but he was frustrated by "federal laws " ... If a DISCO Cuts off a community, there is nothing the governor can do because governors don't control DISCOs. So here is the crux... At state level... Using ogun state for example .. if robbers are operating in ijebu... It does not concern egba governor .... if a federal infrastructure in a state is bad... E.g transmission line to state capital got vandalized... The state government can't do anything about it because it is d responsibility of the Transmission Company of Nigeria ... For your information ... State governments cannot build refinaries to combat fuel scarcity because they can't. You don't expect somebody to be cleaning a mess created by another person ... Now because the problem is affecting everybody doesn't mean we should all continue to suffer... Break up the national grid... Let people generate and consume their electricity like they are doing with generators... Must we share everything ni? If Rivers, Delta and Akwa Ibom governors like, let them build 7 new ports... Is it by force that everybody should barth in lagos? If your street is in darkness and robbers are also terrorising residents... Will you say because d problems affecting everybody in d street, therefore you will continue to stay in d neighborhood? If you buy generator and employ guard and your landlord come and say... "No be only you dey darkness ... Gen noise dey disturb me... Don't use generator in my house"... Will you remain in that house or you wil pack out? Because petrol scarcity is affecting everybody in nigeria doesn't mean those who produce crude oil and can refine it must suffer fuel scarcity with the rest of the country too Break up/regionalize the country and devolute more power to the regions... Let them generate their revenue, build and maintain themselves anyhow they want... The present federal system will not work cos the states are being spoon fed monthly allocation by the federal government .... After paying salaries, governors go broke... All the billions you are hearing are given to states... If you consider inflation, are actually tissue paper .... To build ordinary standard drainage costs about N500m in most niger delta states ... So projects wise.... When mirrored again the poor value of naira dat 13% is nothing ... N500m may build a good road in jigawa... But in Bayelsa, N500m cannot build 1km standard road... So dear, not everything is the representatives faults ... Most of the time they don't have power to act... Break up d country into smaller units and See how fast people will hurry to develop themselves. |
brize:If I hear say 3 .... How many tribes dey Nigeria? ... Abi berom, urhobo, tiv, ijaw, jukun, kanuri and plethora of others no dey? How do we expect all of us to work together? Its like a big articulated lorry with over 200 tires competing with jumbo jets, high speed trains and 6X6 trucks in a race... That's naija for you |
daretodiffer:You don't get it... Instead of promoting, complementing and developing each other in Nigeria, we do exactly the opposite ... We plunder, abuse and deliberately destroy/pull down ourselves ... Let me give you example... If a village produces crude oil/gas... Hosts a power plant... But yet is in 24/7 darkness (are you aware many communities under BEDC in delta/ondo have been in total blackout for 3 years now...?)... If a power plant/oil pipe line pass through their village, den no born d community ppl well if they don't blow d pipeline and vandalise transmission system ... Wat rubbish ... They drill gas here... Generate power here and carry d power to "big cities " while you're in complete darkness for 3 years.. Councillirs, LG chairmen have tried all they could... Even paying bills for whole communities yet BEDC refuse to turn on d light... See, dis one don pass representative matter. If you are from such producing, yet deprived community ... Omoh... if high tension powerline pass through your community , you will climb nepa pole, cut down d dammed cables and throw d "cities " in darkness too... ..!!!.. Look at d lagos-calabar rail controversy ... U want to build lagos-kano ... But cancel lagos-calabar.... Even if councillor /representatives approve and put lagos-calabar in d budget ... Will it make buhari to build both rail lines? If buhari doesn't want to build lagos-calabar rail... There is Nothing "representatives" or "responsible citizens " can do...!!.. If calabar or warri man now go and blow up lagos-kano rail line ... Like fulani herdsmen are currently wrecking havoc... Will you blame him? ... @ OP.... Igbo should not take laws into their hands but boko haram and herdmen are free to do so by call for rising sun..??.. it's like calling igbo people mumu/fools/morons Ordinary court orders and mega protests cannot move one man to release a detained guy... Wat can representatives do? Forget Nigeria jare... Everything with d country is forked up... See NFF ... They are ready to pay millions in advance for foreign coach... But local coach who is being owed 8 months salary should shut up.. How will Nigeria ever develope like this? No way |
We should wait and support vagabonds and anti-development laws and policies until dem crazy people ruin everything pata pata? What is it about Nigeria you people are so proud of and want to keep at all costs? Unless Nigeria returns to regionalism, it can never develop... The cost of ruling the country alone... Do you know how many "lawmakers " federal + 36 states dat Nigeria has in total? How many federal + state ministries? ... No wonder 75% of d country's revenue goes into servicing recurrent expenditures All we are saying is... This Federal system aren't working and it will never work... If they don't want restructuring, then break up the goddam country ... Since 1960s ... To generate ordinary 5,000 mw is a big problem ... Kai.. common refinery you can't build, operate or maintain... Do brazilians or arab folks dat refine crude have 2 heads? If you want to build something in Abia, kano man will come and so... No dont build anythingin igboland... If you want to build in kano, igbo will start shouting marginalization... And you call Nigeria a country? Nigeria is not a country, Nigeria is in deep shyte and d shyte has been flowing in its systems... Whether you like it, whether you don't, that's d blunt truth. Tribalism/ethnicity has eaten into everything ... Look herdmen comments on nairaland... Nigeria cannot work like this... Nonsense country |
Na wa o.. see blamers... Except my sibbling commits murder ... There is no other offense that will make me tell hkm/her to pack out of my house ... Some people are just unreasonable ... OP : don't mind these ppl... 3 yrs ago, a cousin of mine did same to his bro and sis... Now both that were chased away are very comfortable while d wicked bro is unemployed and broke... He had go go back to his vomit and beg his bro to help him get a job. No one knows tomorrow ... Please don't give up ... My cousin sis managed to finish NCE, is now teaching and can take care of herself ... Don't give up |
