Thank God I just discovered this thread. Skimming through it has been so amazing.

I wrote my ielts on the 29th of October. Just got my provisional result last night.

I intend applying for FSW.

Is this result useable?

If yes, what do.i do about what I saw on CIC website

I'm dating a girl in my compound for abt 2 yds nw.
My family are against the relationship because we are neighbours and probably because they knw so many negative tinz abt dem..

Last week I had an alterations with my Parent over d issue and I told dem to back off..
She heard d noise and later asked me wat happened, I told ha wat happened..

Firstly, i must commend you for seeing beyond the grade you made from undergraduate and for opting to better your chances with an improvement. Kudos.

Getting your PGD in Nigeria is not a bad idea. Infact, it will give you an edge when you eventually apply for admission(if you achieve a very good result)and a study permit.

If a PGD would compensate and qualify you for a masters admission in Canada?

This will depend on the specific area/field your proposed study would be and the requirements of your program. If the master degree program is in same field and a progression of the PGD, you most likely would stand a chance if you do exceptionally well as the master degree program offer would be precedent on your most recent academic performance and qualification(s).

Also note that, admission to Canadian schools are not completely subjected to the applicant's grade.

Research interested in, Statement of intent, prior professional or academic activities and overall suitability of the applicant for the applied program will also be considered.

Another option is to apply for another undergraduate program. This option may be tough as you will have to really convince a visa officer that your primary intention is to study. They will consider your decision to study another undergrad program, the rationale behind such decision and your likelyhood to leave Canada at the end of the program. This option must go with cogent and 'beyond reasonable doubt' explanation to convince officers that you need the undergrad program and your plans are not to immigrate.


So weigh your options, listen to your inner voice and decide because at the end, you alone will know the driving force(s) in making your decision. This will also help you during your visa application eventually.

You have good resources to self sponsor yourself and get your TRV. I'll suggest you make the payment for your 1st year tuition to convince the visa officer you are truly going to study and make available $10,000 CAD living expenses for the 1st year in your statement of account. You can use the $5,000 CAD scholarship as the other funds when filling the IMM form.

As for the home ties, you can add your siblings birth certificate and also include your parents biodata passport page.
If you are working, include your employment letter and draft a good SOP saying you are returning back to work when you are done with your studies. Get a letter of introduction/reference from your place of work, also include your pay stubs/slips (4-6months). Also include any paperwork regarding the investment you said you have. All these serves as good home ties.

You also use a co-sponsor that has at least 3m in the account just to show the Visa officer you have funds for the subsequent year of study.

If you can gather all these, you'll have successfully proof to the visa officer you are a genuine student and your TRV awaits you.

I'm a graduate of science education ( physics option)
I have a 2.1
I intend to do an MSC. Program or PGD depending on how my gp will be graded by WES.

I'm yet to get a school ooo ( help is needed) though I will love an extremely cheap school offering an education course or any other.

That's d first stage. Once I'm done with this stage, I'll speak out.

The school said they cannot give me testimonial since I did not finish pry 6.. I stopped at pry 5 before going to sec school... dunno what to do about the testimonial ish

i went to my pry school to collect it and I was told I won't be given because I did not write common entrance... is there any equivalent to FSLC? What advice will you give to me as the next stage.

Trcn means Teachers regn council of Nigeria.. It's a body that regulates teaching in Nigeria.. since I'm having a Bsc. Edu certificate... dunno if it'll be required

what i want to say is did you read your POSTING LETTER? was it not written in your posting letter that you are not to report to work on your CDS days?
even if it wasn't written, where you not told?
my dear on your CDS day, don't go to work let them do their worst...
its not as if you are entitled to so many benefit that others aren't receiving...
if them no gree, write to NYSC thru your LGI, or better still talk to your ZI

Okay am a 2015 batch b, stream ii corp member serving with a private software company in Lagos, i have been with them for about four months now, the problem are their rules which are :

1.) You work 8-6 everyday
2.) You are not allowed access to internet as a corp member
3.) You can't see the management, as any rule being opposed on you is final and is not subject to review or deliberation by us (i.e the corp members)
4.) You can't leave your seat until break time

All these rules and more I wasn't to comfy with them but was still managing but the problem now is that they just brought another rule which is to cancel our CDS days of which we refused. The H.R then said we should come to the office in the morning to collect a release form and then come back to the office after CDS, i mean who does that? Right now am seriously confused and don't even know what to do again as am scared of raising my voice just to let sleeping dogs lie.

Please i need your candid opinions, options and advice... Please no insults.. Help me get this to front page pls it's really serious.

Bros, i also wanted to teach and was posted to a sec sch. I've been teaching but they have not been paying. They know this. Those who they don't pay are signed up as volunteers.
Truthfully, Lagos state won't pay that 15k.
I've just made up my mind to sacrifice this service year. It's painful, and there's no where in the dictionary where service includes pain in its definition.
Just do what you are asked to do and get out. Its one year.. Its not even up to half your life span

my questions is does lg av right to repost ppl? isn't posting supposed to com frm nysc alone?
is the lg not supposed to reject corpers, then corpers go baq to nysc for reposting?

am a youth corp member serving in Lagos state... I started my service year in nov last year, while in camp i was praying to be posted to teach in a govt. owned school. pls note i studied education in one of the universities in the south east. I was disappointed when i saw my posting letter bearing posted to A*** local govt. I was disappointed abit but then i was happy cos i was posted close to my house.

I resumed in my PPA immediately as requested from us in camp. I found out the local Govt pays corp members a small sum of 5000 naira. After a while i noticed the local govt. have virtually no job for us.. we go there and do nothing from morning to night. i wasnt complaining or feeling it because my house is close to my ppa and the money is small.

After a while, i got bored with the routine of going to work and doing nothing.. I DECIDED to make my self useful and add value to myself by getting a JOB.

AFTER 2 weeks of my resuming my new JOB, the local govt. decided to SHIP ALL OF US OUT to teach in school... i'm really offended, because when i wanted to teach xo i can benefit from the state govt 15000 NAIRA STIPENDS, i was denied and posted elsewhere.. now the local govt. wants to ship us out to teach for free.

I'm offended cos the students will not benefit much from me wit 6 months to go.. NOW I DONT WANT TEACH ANY LONGER.
CAN I CONTEST MY POSTING? DOES LOCAL GOVT. HAVE A RIGHT TO POST CORPERS OUT? I THOUGHT POSTING COMES FROM NYSC ALONE?
