How has force improved the lives of Nigerians? With all the force we keep bringing up more violent people and corrupt citizens. Of what use is force when it does not impact the country positively? Meanwhile children in the west who are "spoilt" according to you are moving forward in leaps and bounds. Force does not solve everything. What is the point of beating a child for waking up late or wetting the bed? Only lazy parents who can't think do that. You can see the result in Nigeria's society and government. And the army and police force is not what we are talking about. Did the army do that to the child?
you are not making sense. let police and army go on strike and see how things turn out. law are executed with force, without forceful compliance there will be no order. without millitary force boko haram would have ran over Nigeria. countries are created and maintained with force. the society is about force.

and about the western kids moving forward what does that mean? building sky scrapers and wearing suits? do we need to measure our 'progress' with their own type of progress? western education brought about corruption. increased need. competition. you take a loan and you pay 30% and they call it business. that is clearly stealing and wickedness. it would have been better if we did just farming and live without worrying about material gains and things like iphone, nice shoes, cool laptosp and expensive cars. the oppressed feel the need to get theirs and jealousy comes in. desperation comes in. crime increases. abeg make i hear word

Your post is strange considering the fact that Nigerians love beating children as a way of correcting behavior. Plus, you are quoting the bible which also says to "spare the rod, and spoil the child". Brute force signifies poor problem solving skills. This is another reason why Nigerians are extremely violent people. Everything is always solved by use of force. These are the same people who murder suspects at a whim. Smh.
though i dont support this kind of force but sometimes force is needed.

without force you cant run a country(humans)

without force you cant know conflict and without conflict there is no peace.

isreal uses force to remain alive

Nigerian Army uses force to keep us safe

War(force) is legal remember?

humans sometimes need physical pains to get motivation to do the right thing.

fight(force) is always the last option to settle a dispute.

so my dear, use of force is not bad dont ake everything the west tells you. wonder why their children are spoilt? too much pampering.

During NYSC service year. i was still an atheist(Now i believe in God but just in a different way) i was known in our lodge as an entertainer cos i argue a lot. one of my pastor friend promised me in four days something strange will happen to me. i told him nothing will happen. since that moment i almost gave in to fear but i always fight it back. on the fourth day i was alone in the lodge so i washed my gas cooker or say clean. now i was supposed to let it dry but i was hungry so i decided to cook indomie. i took the gas inside my room. as i lit the lighter to on my gas cooker the head caught fire. immediately i fell on my back. it didnt explode but i quickly blew it out with air from my mouth.

i told my friend and he was like ehen i told you abi.
now if it had blown he would have told people he warned me. but it didnt.
my carelessness made that accident occur.
if not why will a God manipulate me just to prove a point. wheres the free will.

grin grin yaiye but thank God that thing no blow oh. i for dey hospital now dey pray make God heal me. all my face for don disfigure.

OP no matter what logic we use we still can't prove that there's no God. we are too limited in knowledge to decide weather there's God or not. we can argue day in day out it still won't prove anything

something cannot come out of nothing sure. that defeats the concept of God already.

but before you go that far you need to deal with our own human existence first. we cannot just come out of nothing too. something must have cursed our creation.

let's not define it as religious people do. but for the fact that we don't know, that unknown knowledge is God.

God means knowledge unknown. respect it. worship it. make wishes. tell it all your worries. beg for favors. fear it. whatever it is we don't know .

knowledge above our human knowledge..

that is God.

Romance › Re: Why Do Men Impregnate A Girl And Then Leave Her by Owliver(m): 5:06am On Jul 06, 2016
foolinlove:
There are lots of reasons.

One could be that he's not ready for the responsibility of children or condom use. Yet he was ready to shoot his load into a girl.

Funny, the same type of guys often go on and on about how abortion is "morally wrong".

Seems that men can choose their destiny in life, but won't allow a girl the same choice.

It's morally reprehensible to abandon the girl who will mother your children, without providing her with any options.
if it's not rape then what stops her from choosing her own destiny by regulating the sex? what stops her from demanding condom? oh she got carried away. damn they both got carried away.

if they both got carried away then I guess they both chose their destinies.

then the one with "greater responsibility" suffers. as designed by Mother Nature.
Romance › Re: Why Do Men Impregnate A Girl And Then Leave Her by Owliver(m): 5:00am On Jul 06, 2016
foolinlove:
Why? Why does the woman have greater responsibility?

Just because she carries the pregnancy? The man played half the part in getting her pregnant. The responsibility should be shared equally.
she will carry the pregnancy for 9 months which is awful , gets swollen legs, labour pains, wide Pucci, helpless sometimes. unnecessary hormones, boobs become saggy, bigger nose.

there you go. reasons why responsibility can never be equal.
Romance › Re: Please Help A Lesby Who Is Desperate To Break Free by Owliver(m): 4:37am On Jul 06, 2016
foolinlove:
You haven't really added any new factual argument to this thread, you've just echoed the values of all the other homophobes here. You misconstrue peer pressure for societal expectation.

Nigeria is very religious and decades behind other countries when it comes to human rights and education (you can say the same for other African countries and those in the middle east). You may say that the west is going to hell, but the west has already experienced the societal state that Nigeria is currently in - it didn't work, that's why it changed.

I've made suggestions for this girl and hope she is treated with love, respect and support. I feel awful she has to go through this dilemma due to pressures placed on her by the extremism of Nigeria: a place where biblical texts take precedent over facts to the point where people feel overwhelming shame for what is quite normal human behavior (ie, masturbation).

But it doesn't change my stance on the topic of homosexuality.

Your only original contribution to this conversation is likening homosexuals to murderers, which is not a good analogy at all.

1. Murderers cause harm to others. Homosexuals do not. Homosexuality, like heterosexuality, largely occurs between consenting adults. Murderers do what they do by force.

2. The fact that murderers commit these awful crimes does not remove their human rights (the UN and other bodies try to ensure this). When convicted large measures are taken to ensure their wellbeing in prison. They are fed, clothed and given quarters to sleep. Maybe that doesn't happen in Nigeria, but it happens in most modernised countries.

3. Murder happens for a variety of reasons. Let's look at one end of the spectrum - serial killers with no remorse. Evidence does suggest that these people have differently wired brains to the remainder of the population, and yes, they were born that way. They can't control their impulse to murder. There are also certain genetic predispositions documented that can provide a preliminary indication of how likely someone is to harm another person when put in certain sitiations.

I feel really sad that you're so adamant in your hatred. We come from different places, different backgrounds and have differing education levels.

I think I've been quite civil in presenting my arguments, because abuse doesn't encourage people to discover new things about the world and educate themselves.

I'm not promoting homosexuality, I'm defending the people that you so heartlessy pass judgement on and abhor for no *good* reason.

Maybe your hearts are in the right place - you care and you are applying the limited learning you have for this situation. My heart is in the right place, too. I just have a higher level of knowledge surrounding these issues due to my background.

But the only response I get is anger: that I must be gay, I'm stupid and don't deserve a place on earth or in heaven. I don't think it's very Godly.
I disagree.

serial killers are not born that way, so is gay, prostitutes. who does all those crazy research anyway.

in Africa we are very religious, religion gives people "purpose" in life, a direction, a cure for their questions about the after life, a cage of the beast of human nature all with the concept of "morals"

the west mostly believe there's no god. so no one to account for in the after life. no sin. no religious morals. so they can commit whatever and when they die it's all over here on earth. that accounts for the "mental" problem ravaging the west.

in the west someone could find purpose marrying a dog, marrying herself, killing teenagers, raping old women, some love tattoo, suicide on the increase, teen killing people with guns, all sort of "weird" things all in the name of human right lol.. someone could just wake up S morning and pick a gun, shoots himself and that's it. because of lack of religious purpose.

humans must attach purpose in life to feel relevant, and that is where the west are lacking, Africa has taken the easy way out through religion but you westerners are confused(no insult intended at u) doing all sort of things,

you only believe gay is OK because you were born there, if you were born here you won't believe. environment makes a man. nobody is born with any ideology. consciously and unconsciously society create these attitude.

what about armed robbers? with your logic I can say armed robbers are born that way. they can't help it too. why do you criminalise their act?

you west cannot be "right" all the time. "right" is relative, subject to environment so my dear You are WRONG.

deal with it
