Romance / Re: What Do You Women Really Want With 'feminism' by Owliver(m): 1:12am On Oct 12, 2016
Berlynn:

I am not a feminist all I want is to be treated equal and fair.... I do not wish to have an upper hand on men and I am equally against being under their thumb as well.
equally? fair?

life itself is unfair and full if inequalities.
see examples,

some are born rich, some poor.

some are born in villages and wish they were born in cities, while some are born in the best of locations.

some are born without sight some are born with ability to see.

some are born with weird shapes and forms, some are born almost flawless.

some are born "ugly" some are born beautiful and handsome.

some girls wish they had a little bigger boobz, asz, fair skin, long legs etc. some have perfect shapes and bodies.

some are born dwarves, others are born "normal"

some are born orphans some met their parent who showed them love.

have you seen the deformed begger on the street? what is his/her sin. who chooses to be male or female? who chooses to be gay? who chooses to be a dwarf?

if you were a male like us you'd probably be arguing in our favour and if I were a female too I'd be arguing against male.

in a society there is never equality, in as much as we should fight for justice, a boundary should be maintained, not everything someone asks for should be granted in totality.

that's the concept of society, we are suppose to make everyone feel loved, important, accepted despite the inequality but we are not doing that. reason why there is widespread suffering, hate and chaos.

I know I have said too much. idios

There is nothing wrong with marrying at 25 as long as you are both mature. God has been preparing this wife for you before you were born and now your family wants to hinder the plan. As long as you are responsible and loving, why are they against it? Maybe they want to chop your money first. Take your wife now before some other man tries to spoil her in this harsh economy. Unless there is a serious problem which you have not revealed to us, continue to encourage your family about the matter. If they don't agree, the arrival of a new baby would help them. smiley
must you people drag God into this matter?

wrong. if we were to discuss base on logic there's no such thing as normal. but if we were to do it base on bias then yeah normal.

There is no such thing as vacuum.
Where God is not present will soon be occupied by sonething else.
And all these people who were 'neutral" how where they living?
Moreover, please how did they now know what is good an bad?
Or are u trying to tell me that if u raise a new born baby in a jungle, wiithout any knowledge of anything like cave men, the person will grow up to be a normal person like u?

Interesting!
be Careful how you use the term normal.

normal is subject to knowledge.

for instance
it is normal for muslims to marry 4 but abnormal for Christians.
it is normal for Christians to refer to Jesus as God but abnormal for Muslims.
without this implanted codes(knowledge) both parties wouldn't even contemplate on such but world rather find it strange.

normal is what a majority agree to be "normal" justified or not. it was normal to kill twins in calabar those days. it was normal to store adulterous women to death those days. it is normal to cut of the head of apostates in Saudi Arabia till date. so long the majority approves it becomes "normal"

knowledge makes a man.

u know some people have the mentality of 425bc where they believe that they are the ONLY custodian of peace and prosperity. that everything in the world should be at their whims and caprices. anybody who deviates from their standards and rules should be dealt with accordingly and it is only people who have such mentality will support those who see themselves as the alpha and omega. THEY ARE DIVINE HENCE THEY CAN DO NO WRONG undecided. as squealer will always say NAPOLEON IS ALWAYS RIGHT angry
one thing about society is inequality. through out history kingdoms have ruled kingdoms. humans are too diverse to allow peace, pride will always be a part of humans. pride of ideology and supremacy.

look at this scenario. if every country gets nuclear weapons there will be no order. there will be no leader or follower which is the basic tenet of a society. US were super powers when they had the weapon alone, after the Hiroshima launch Japan gave up the war and no country dared US when they spoke. no one dared them then, not even Russia. now Pakistan, China, Russia, Iran, etc can now challenge US anyday anytime. no "peace" again.

in every structure where humans gather it's either one submits to the other or there will be chaos. by the time everyone had equal edge who will police everyone?

the only reason am indifferent is because of the fact that US has "misused" that privilege of being the leader. but honestly we shouldn't make comments based on emotions but rather critical thinking.

If u punish a child for doing wrong it doesn't mean u don't love him....it just means ure keeping to ur word..that any child who errs will suffer the consequences....and becauseu don't want reoccurring punishment u tell him not to err

Jesus knows that hell is an eternal damnation for anyone who goes against his will(disobeys)...but because he loves us and doesn't want us to perish..he tells us the consequences of sin..we in order not to be eternally dammed, give our lives to him and start following in his steps of righteousness...John 3;16 God so loved the world to the extent that he gave his only begotten son that whoever believes in him(his son) shall not die but have eternal life.
so you are saying you can roast your child in fire non stop till eternity because the child wronged you? seriously

If Jesus could love us despite our sh1tty lives then love is real..

My advice; don't awaken love till you're ready if not u might just have your heart shattered beyond repair
but there's fire, just in case.

how can that be love when there's fire waiting for those who refuse? that's a conditional love

Yes love only exist from God to man but anyone who believes in human love is a big fool.

Human love is a charade, a chase after the wind which is based on a condition and if the condition is no longer there, love fades and tolerance sets in with an eventual crash just for us to start looking for the right condition in another person which triggers the so called dumb words "I LOVE YOU".
sorry to disappoint you. even the religious God don't love unconditionally. he doesn't love sinners. he has a lake of fire for them. He only loves those who worship him and it is said he will give them mansions in heaven.

so even the religious God loves for a purpose.

Religion / Re: The Ant Tale And Our Morality by Owliver(m): 11:56pm On Sep 07, 2016
Sarassin:
Pretty good write-up, In my view morality is little more than a codex for order at particular points in time, for instance the Incas, like the Mayans and the Aztecs of old considered child sacrifice to placate certain gods as perfectly morally acceptable. We could not countenance such a thing today and for sure most of what is considered morally acceptable today will in say a hundred years from now likely be seen as morally reprehensible.

The battle for morality is simply a game of numbers and acceptability, order really is an imposition, anarchy is the natural state of things. I prefer the maxim of that famous man dubbed the "wickedest man in Britain" Aleister Crowley, "do what thou wilt"

Of course, in a society where we are all sufficiently evolved man would work for the greater good, it just goes to show that we should not underestimate ants.
absolutely right. I was telling same thing with my bro who is a seminarian, though he agrees with me on some cos they read philosophy, psychology and theology. survival(anarchy) is the true nature of man. society is just a way of surviving with deception.

like someone stated.
humans are the only animals that do not live the way we are meant to live.

oh thanks to knowledge. pride. forbidden fruit(as religious folks say).

nice to meet you sir

so in essence, what I wrote up there is when humans gather to work together as a society(religion or no religion. culture or no culture) there must be agreed rules, standard. that determines morality.

the only difference is. with religion or cultural influence of law morality is imposed(rigid) but in a liberal society it's filtered(flexible)
Religion / Re: The Ant Tale And Our Morality by Owliver(m): 11:40pm On Sep 07, 2016
johnydon22 great points. you impressed me.

my opinion.

when humans formed alliance to work together, then "society" was created. morality was the code of conduct. morality as you have said is relative and it also evolves. society is bound by rules. these rules checkmate the true human nature, these rules are what various religions(culture) call "moral standard"

if you notice when religion takes over government(then Catholic, today Sharia) morality become laws which are enforced, these moral codes become rigid(like Sharia law since 7th century till this day) but when religion is separated from politics, morality becomes an individualistic course which brings about speedy change in morality. this speedy change is really hard for religious people to comprehend hence they label it "immoral"

owliver your level of reasoning and self realization is above what a lot of people can comprehend. so don't bother trying to set the records straight for some folks cause they won't get it. it is like trying to explain quantum mechanics to secondary level physics students who have not gotten a good grasp of classical physics.

you understand human behaviour, emotions and human mind in another dimension that is why u can decode beyond the surface to know where sentiments evolve. you need to avoid argument but rather engage in discussions that does not deflate the ego of others.

you have understood perception and perspectives but there is still room for improvement. you can still draw from the well of the absolute but you need to drop deeper. you need to be careful because a lot of people will misunderstood you and may even attack you based on their insecurities and low self-esteem.

a level of selfishness is required for survival.

a level of fear is required to be cautious.

There are things in existence whether we believe it or not.
nobody seems to know. I used to think I am alone in this. seeing things differently from others. well, thank God you acknowledge me.

someone said, "Man is the only animal that chose to live in deception rather than reality"

what you know won't scare you or make you wonder or will have less importance. but what is unknown will make you search, fear, wonder, hold in high esteem. that makes it a God(A greater knowledge unknown)
