Also using the name of the God of a prophet is ancient like the old testament. I believe Jesus came to redeem us and gave us authority as in Luke 10 vs 19. The Bible says in the name of Jesus every knee must bow and every tongue confess. Not in the name of God or in the name of God of Paul, Silas or Peter.
Jesus redeemed us and only with his name have we been given authority and we are allowed to exercise such authority with his name only.

He only asked us to cast out devils and not to send dem on errands people who have been praying for demons to go to bottomless pit or ocean etc do so out of fear dat d demons may come back to harm dem or enter into another person around there(this is sheer ignorance). Secondly he allowed d demons enter d herd of swine in order to show d disciples wit him and by extension d Church how destructive demons are so dat as dey (d disciples) go about carrying out d divine mandate, dey should never tolerate any demonic case.

D pastor obviously knows next to nothing about deliverance that is wat happens when people are too lazy to study their bible on specific subject of key interest. i think dat practice here in Nigeria started with cac church. Of a truth apostle Joseph ayo Babalola was a great man of God so even wen he died his church members continued praying in d name of God of apostle Babalola (you hear dem saying ni oruko olorun Babalola) and because of God sincere covenant with the late apostle, things still happen wen dey pray like dat so people just copy it sheepishly. Most of the big GO of big pentecostal churches today are from Ilesa d same town with D late apostle i believe dey may av borrowed dis prayer pattern from cac.

The Pastor needs some counselling. He handled the ministration wrongly and gave demons the permission to disrupt the service. The fact he tried casting out a demon in the name of a man suggests he knows near to little, you can only start ministration to open manifestation like this when conducting mass deliverance ministration and even then, you would have spent time to teach the people and gave them opportunity to renounce strongholds in their lives, you don't engage demons in conversation and allow demonic entertainment, embarrassing people who have demonic cases like this Pastor has done.
The norm is for him to stop the demonic manifestations and schedule a counselling and deliverance sessions for the Sister.

In all, I seriously doubt if that demon was casted out.

Good morning believers. I witnessed a demon ecorsion on Friday in a church. But so many things didn't sit right with it. The pastor asked some set of people to come out if they had the set of problems he listed. The choir was playing while he was speaking out the problem out of their life. So many gymnastics was going on. He got to the turn of a girl after praying for a while, guess she started manifesting then he asked the choir to stop, grabbed the Mic and started interrogating her in front of the whole congregation(is this right? Thought deliverance was supposed to be a personal thing, i mean what if the demon came out of her and went in someone else or something?) he started asking her who are u.she said destroyer. He asked apart from destroyer what's her name she didn't say anything. The girl started saying things she wasn't even asked. The drama went on. Then the pastor said everyone should start praying that she sent out an arrow but he returned it that we shouldn't sleep. People (scared) started praying then he said he commanded the demon 'out in the name of the God of papa adeboye'(it was a redeem church) den the drummer started hitting the cymbals really fast and in response people intensified their prayers ; this supposedly spurned the girl to start running around. Then the pastor said 'come out of her' then she fell down. people started clapping.... I mean is this how Jesus delivered possessed individuals? There was so much entertainment at point the girl was even like 'oh my god' am like really? On this thread i learnt we shouldn't engage demons cos day lie, here it seemed the pastor was solely acting on what the girl was saying The pastor in context never quoted any word of God. He just talked about how Jesus has came to set us free.. Brethren is it me (cos am in a phase where i scrutinize any church 'gathering' i find myself, if they are preaching the word of God or the fear of the devil) or there's nothing wrong with what transpired!

UNDERSTANDING THE KINGDOM OF DARKNESS
Apostle paul did a thorough job in classifying the kingdom of darkness according to the book of ephesians(i recommend this book for every believer to read and digest do as to understand our right standing in God) Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Ephesians 6:11-12 KJV
The kingdom of darkness is an hierarchical kingdom. First there are principalities then followed by powers, rulers of d darkness of dis age, spiritual wickedness in high places.
principalities: the word translated to principalities in the original text is the word arche and it means Chiefs. The word arch angel is gotten from dis. Principalities are the highest among d satanic ranks Satan himself is d head of dis group. The fallen angels fall under dis category according to their ranks.
D book of ezekiel talks about the king of tyrus and Daniel talked about prince of persia. These are principalities that ruled over the kingdom of tyre and persia respectively. As a matter of fact, the king of tyrus was actually Satan himself.

powers: the word here is exousia and it actually mean power of choice and liberty. This is d class under which demons falls. Angels do not have d ability to possess a body so dey use demons who are disembodied spirits to achieve their purpose. Demons av d ability to influence d choice and liberty of individuals who dey possess so dey go all about looking for bodies through which dey can continue their rebellion against God.
Rulers of darkness: kosmokrator is d word here and it means lords of the world or a world ruler. This is the first part of satanic kingdom where humans are involved and it involves human authorities and powers dat be. Example in d Bible was d prince of tyrus according to the book of ezekiel.

Concerning Thrones and Dominion UPDATE

In the book of Daniel chapter 10 vs 13 specifically spoke about the Prince of Persia. And same Chapter we see Prince of Greece and Micheal your Prince
We see the Bible speaking of Spiritual beings parading themselves over the affairs of nations either placed there by God or Satan.
lets go further. For illustrative purposes, lets move on to Chapter 11 of Daniel. If you start from the beginning, you see Gabriel giving Daniel the insight into the visisions he had earlier on. Different kings, kingdoms and domain.
Daniel 11:5
[I] And the king of the south shall be strong, and one of his princes; and he shall be strong above him, and have dominion; his dominion shall be a great dominion . [/I]

Dominion here is associated with rule and kingdom. So a throne exist in the world of man and same with a corresponding existence in the spirit world. (Remember the princes in chapter 10 of Daniel.) If that throne is dedicated to God as we have seen above and will see later, God's divine authority will be over it. But if it's established by satan, we see his agents presiding over it.

Now as posted earlier, we saw Michael mentioned in Chapter 10, Daniel Chapter 12 vs 1 throws more light as follows, Michael is seen as a prince over Israel with God's plans and purposes to be carried out.

1. Tyrus - is the Nation, is the Domain or Dominion

2. The Prince of Tyrus - Is a man, the King/Ruler in the Physical or Natural realm. he sat on the Throne.

3. The King of Tyrus - was the Principal agent of darkness controlling the affairs of that nation.

As clearly seen from the above, we believers can either pray for our nation and leaders as directed by Paul or we will continue to suffer consequences of not praying for them and taking dominion of the spiritual atmosphere over us.

I had this experience back in secondary school(all girls).

We were reading a certain night. I and my sister, at about 1:30am to 2am there about, of course every other person in the room was asleep. My hostel had another one just opposite it and there was an open spaced pathway kind of between both hostels.
Hmmm my school was one with lots of trees. Now that I'm thinking of it hmmmm I can only shake my head ooo. Infact my room was the first room from the main hostel gate and there was this very huge malaina tree(i hope that's the spelling lol) and back to my story.

That wee hour as we were reading with our candles as the school gen of course had been turned off at the time, unsuspecting of nothing, along came with the wind this very shrill eerie sound I can't even describe. We both heard and immediately looked at ourselves in horror! I beckoned for her to be silent, by placing my index finger to my lips. In a split second, then came this sound again. And this time without being told I said shhhh and use my fingers: thumb and index to put off the candle(this was a common practise in school then for the pros who were used to candles, we learnt how to put it off with our fingers) and we just closed our eyes in fear and slept off. That was quite some experience.

Another time was in my ss3 at about 4am. At this time I was beginning to build my faith n feared less. This morning, everyone was up going to have their bath and prep for school. Morning bell goes normally by 5am but students love to beat the bell and wake earlier and my roommates were fond of this. But as a senior @the time this rule was mostly applicable to the junior students so of course I was still lounging on my bed. The school gen wasn't yet on till 5am so they were using either their lanterns, candles or rechargeable lanterns. All of a sudden a knock goes on the door. I said earlier my room is the first from the hostel gate n no one can come in from another hostel, the hostel gate was locked and the keys were with me. So who could be knocking at that time? No, I don't think anyone from some other room could have come that early yo knock on the front door cos it was really too early and dark plus we have two other doors connecting the room that anyone that wanted could have come in through, the side or the back door but not just that front door(the person must have guts oo) so they(roomates) all heard the knock but pretended to be busy dressing up. Ah ah the knock goes again for the second time and someone asks ' Aaah who is knocking at this time' and before you could say jack they all ran out in a split second taking away all source of light cos of course they know, no human being could be knocking at that time oo. As they were fleeing, their noise woke me and someone else still sleeping in the room and then just as I was coming to, heard the knock again even louder this time(i wasn't a deep sleeper n had heard the knock the other two times) at this I got so angered in my spirit and yelled' who is that? If you do not have a name please get out' and that was it!!!! No more knocks, nothing infact it was like whatever it was got the drift and vamoosed cos one person had confronted it and refuse to play it's fear game. Infact I went back to sleep ni oo! They all came back in and deliberated till morning. All I was asked 'senior Dazzle, ah u tried ooo u were not even afraid, so who was that. I only laughed cos I knew fear was only the beginning of oppression and from that day till nau Fear?? Mba Ooo it's got nothing on me!!!

happy Sunday dear. The truth is that fear is a cage dat is why alot of time the agents of darkness comes in a form dat intimidates. Usually dats y dey use creatures dat have intimidating forms like owls and cats dat have intimidating eyes. Jesus said he didn't come to abolish d law but to fulfill it. As at d time of the apostles, the only scriptures dey were having was d old testament and dat was wat dey always referred to. The book of galatians listed witchcraft as a work of the flesh(fallen man) Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. Being a work of the flesh, it means dat everyone who isn't exhibiting the fruit of the Spirit could be guilty of it in any subtle form. There are some people who weneva dey get angry, dey can place a curse on a person who offend dem and wen dey see it happens, dey think it was God dat answered their prayers but it was actually witchcraft and anyone who can manipulate a fellow human to do wat he or she wants is practicing witchcraft. If anyone practice witchcraft, he is also brought under d power of witchcraft and these powers too can work against him or her.
Divination: Man in his fallen starts has d desire to peep into the future but by d grace of God, the future of everyman is hid in God but due to curiosity, man get involved in fortune telling by consulting with familiar spirits, looking into crystal balls, reading signs and omen, horoscope, gazing into stars etc. D truth is dat wen a man go to a fortune teller, he is lured into a covenant by an object of contact with evil spirits and d devil assigns a future to him and gives d demons a mandate to bring it to pass.
Sorcery: Sorcery involves objects that claims to have special powers such as waist bead, amulets, charms of several types. These objects have already been invoked to carry demonic presence and while dey may do d bidding of d person carrying it, at d same time dey put d person under bondage to the power.
The bible says anyone that practices these things are abomination unto God so d devil has hidden these things from the world so dat dey think witchcraft is all about astral. Just check d pages of the newspaper and see dat how bold witch doctors have become. D Bible didn't say we should be afraid of satans devices but rather it said we shouldn't be ignorant of it.
Wen i was in secondary school, two of my friends were having a quarell and i fueled dem into having a fight. After d fight, one of them removed an object like a cowery from his inner short and spat on it and wispered something to the cowery. It was a curse and believe u me within 3 days d curse came to pass. He told me d object was given to him by his grandmother for protection. Little wonder dis particular friend was always falling sick. It is pure sorcery.
warning Please be careful of the type of object you wear on ur body if u don't know d origin of it eg rings, bracelets, necklace etc expecially something that will be on u all day.
In secondary school as well, a lady gave a ring to a friend to hold for her and he wore it. D lady didn't come back to school again dat day and wen it was about time to go home, dis friend tried to remove d ring and it was impossible for him to he did his best but couldn't so he knew something was fishy. Dis was in benin city edo state where idolatry is still a common practice. Another boy who was in d class and was into charms came to his rescue. He did some things and took a leaf to hold the ring and was able to remove it easily. Wen d ring was removed, it was as hot as electric iron. D guy den asked where my friend got d ring and he told him d lady den d guy asked if my friend didn't know dat lady had a mermaid spirit? If dat ring remained in my friends hand till midnight, i wonder wat will av happened to him cos we weren't born again by den. I eventually went for jamb lesson and coincidentally, dat lady was also in dat center. I was amazed at the amount of guys and tutors dat dated her.

okay sir.i relate with deceit but not in the instances u stated. I've been very from the word of God(i expressed my worries earlier in the thread), my prayer life is zero as well and i keep telling myself its gonna be fine after exams. I thank God for that experience cos it has triggered me

its good to know youv been fired up by d experience. I hope it hasn't reoccured after dat day? Ask the Holy Spirit to tell you wat gave d opening to dat demon so dat u can avoid it. Its true dat there are forces of wickedness everywhere but we need to realize that our victory has been purchased in christ Jesus.

no one is immune from temptation from demons my brother. Apart from the temptation (external) there is another temptation (internal) which is temptation to yield to the d external temptation and it lies in the flesh of man.

In my previous post I mentioned I will be taking a stand and thank God I have re-dedicated myself to Him wholly. Now I know the devil has cheated me while I was in sin but now he has lost. I have been praying and meditating on the Word.

Sir Oyeludef, you mentioned in one of your previous post that certain things (lies, stealing etc) could be attributed to demonic activity. I have been reading Triumphant Church by Kenneth Haggin (someone here posted the link and I downloaded it). In his book he mentioned that we are too quick to blame devil for everything that happens in our life and we fail to take responsibility. He cited that if we offer our body as a living sacrifice; meaning if we subject our body and soul to the dominion of the spirit then we can take charge of our lives and defend against satanic attacks. He cited Gal. 5 17, 19-21 where he linked this traits to the flesh. Also in Eph 4. 25-32 Apostle Paul lists some of the traits to the old man (unregenerated flesh) namely; lying, stealing, corrupt communication, malice et al.

So my question is, are these works of demonic activity? It is possible to have these thoughts lingering in the mind if the body and soul is not under the dominion of the spirit. The flesh has its own lust, agreed. But are these lusts perpetrated by demonic influence?

I intend to grow in spirit and I have downloaded a few books. Does anyone here have any book I can download? Mainly for spiritual growth.

PS. Oyeludef I am not sure if it was you or Bro Superior1 who made such assertion but I would l love to be enlightened on this subject. I believe I can learn from you all here and also from Kenneth Haggin.

it was i who made d assertion. I was also the one dat posted the link to the book triumphant church by Kenneth hagin and I recommend it for any one who wants to know about how to conquer the kingdom of darkness.
Demons are also called seducing spirits because wat dey do is to entice us into sin so dey can gain entrance entrance into our bodies. Many of the things you mentioned are works of the flesh at first but along d line dey can b hijacked by demons. A good example of dis is what people call cleptomaniac. If u talk to a clepto you will know how helpless dey are. Cleptomaniac is a Demonic aspects of stealing because even though some of dem are from wealthy homes, dey find it impossible to stop stealing even d most ridiculous of things dey don't even need and will never use. Imagine someone stealing one piece instead of a pair of shoe. If you meet a case where by d person is helpless or addicted, dat person is under a Demonic control

ok. By deceit, i mean dat a person may b totally ignorant about a transaction with the demonic. For example, reading horoscope opens door for demons, any thing dey call lucky is actually demonic e.g lucky biro, lucky shoe etc. Objects collected from a witch(some now disguise as men and women of God) are demonic whether dey call it anointed water or oil. Having sex with a Demonic possessed person could open door as well. There are several ways my dear. For a better explanation, ill be talking about witchcraft in my next post
