It is very obvious.

I think we all had crushes on our teachers at one point in time or the other. I had a crush on my tall, chocolate skinned and gorgeous hunk of an Accounting teacher in SS2, and because of him endured one session of Accounts. However, the crush could not withstand the power of my hatred of all things mathematics, and so, in SS3 I quietly borrowed myself brain and dropped accounts. I cannor go and be scoring F9 in WAEC because of man. grin
Most girls crush on their teachers, unlike boys.

Which boy will want to crush on a 35, 40, 50+ years old teachers? where there are beautiful fresh young girls around.

But as ubunja always say 'Women marry higher up, while men marry down'.

Watched Lady Bird yesterday.

I think the reason Americans love this movie is because they can relate to the lead character during their teenage years, which doesn't apply to us here in Nigeria.
I don't think a Nigeria teen girl brought up well can behave like Lady bird, especially her rebellious attitude towards her mom.

All in all i enjoy the movie.

Anyone notice fat Julie had a crush on her maths teacher?

Guys suggest good 2017/2018 movies please, i have watched most, but i don't wanna waste my mb on some lacklustre films with eye catching titles. Thanks.

The Florida Project.

I have watched this movie twice now, so interesting. Just like American Honey, showcasing the other side of Hollywood fantasy world.

I love the kids, especially Jancey.

I keep replaying Jancey's dance to the rap song on Halley's bed.

A romanticised version of P.T Barnaum's life. The real P.T was a ruthless, unscrupulous businessman.
Yes, you are right.

I read that even though he spoke against slavery one time, he lease an old woman believed to be 161 years, to showcase in his museum.

When the woman died, he hosted a live autopsy of her body in a New York Saloon. Their spectators paid 50 cents to see the dead woman cut up, as he “revealed” that she was likely half her purported age.

The Greatest Showman.

Wow, movie was lit, i wasn't disappointed.

And i love the musicals too.

During the tour, i thought Jenny Lind was gonna steal Phinehas, and he will in turn divorce Charity, but the guy had genuine love for his family.

I have composed 3 songs from the musicals to teach the kids for their children anniversary.

lol, if all men were extinct from this world, then one day a group of ladies were fortunate to come across an only surviving adult male (like Pharaoh's daughter/Moses). Believe me, the ladies will backbite kill themselves to have him.
EducationIs Homeschooling Possible In Nigeria by oyetpel(op): 10:30am On Mar 23, 2018
I have come across several Hollywood movies that depicts children being homeschooled by their parents i.e Captain Fantastic, The Glass Castle (both are recent movies).
Also this week i read about a homeschooled boy who killed someone in a US school.

After several school shootings, many Americans are now considering homeschooling their children as a safe option to prevent their kids being gun down in schools.

Also in Nigeria, we have cases whereby schoolgirls are being kidnapped in Chibok and of recent Dapchi.

Before all these rampage, kidnap and killing of students in schools, Americans and some developed countries are known to home school their wards.

In fact, there are about 2.3 million homeschooled students
in the United States.

A major factor that have been said against homeschooling is socialization.

Homeschooling is illegal in some countries.

In Nigeria, even if the parents are illiterates or they do not know how to teach, they can employ tutors to teach their ward at home without going to convectional school. So there is no excuse.

So my question is, can Nigerians home school their children?

The Disaster Artist 7/10.

A movie about a movie.

TDA is a movie about the best worst movie ever made called The Room by Tommy Wiseau.

After watching TDA, i had to go online to read about it, read about the room and read about Tommy Wiseau (an unknown rich wannabe producer).

I have watched the movie twice.

You will enjoy TDA if you know what the movie is based on.
PoliticsRe: Why FG Could Not Negotiate With Boko Haram To Put End To Terrorism? by oyetpel(m): 2:25pm On Mar 22, 2018
Cromcruach91:
The problem with organisations like Boko Haram is that the don't do compromise. All they do is 'It is my way or the highway'

This is typical of many 'rebel' or 'terror' organisations like the FARC in Colombia. It took the Colombian government over 40 years to even get FARC to agree to lay down their arms and achieve their goals politically, and it also took the British government 22 years to convince the IRA , UVF to lay down their arms, and take part in the political process.

But with Boko...the problem is that they don't even accept the existence of Nigeria as a secular state, or the authority of the government, or the right of other Nigerians , including even their fellow muslims to live the way they think they should live. How do you negotiate with such a group.? That they are even willing to talk to the govt about the Chibok and Dapichi girls was really the work of some strong arm persuasion...with neutral parties doing a lot of the spadework. But asking them to lay down their arms? Not going to happen. Not with the kind of belief structure they have. You see the same thing with Joseph Kony and the LRA in Uganda...over 30 yeears fighting to instill their view of Chirstianity on Uganda...or Al Qaeda...nearly 30 years.

Again, negotiation is going to involve amnesty. How do you grant amnesty to a group of people responsible for death and destruction? What does this say to millions of Nigerians who have suffered under their hands.? Same thing in Colombia....FARC got amnesty...lots of people who suffered under their rule got angry that nobody would answer for the crimes committed against them.

Modified: Big thanks to OP for the question by the way.

ANNIHILATION was interesting, but it throws out all logic. 2/10
Read this from an imdb user critic.

Warning: Spoilers
First of all this movie was not confusing, nor was it thought
provoking. I get the idea of morphology, the shimmer
refracting dna and the idea of one's own self destruction to
becoming something new/ different. Those ideas were cool,
but that's not what I have issues with. It's hard to take this
movie as a deep, intellectual movie when common sense
and basic logic is all tossed aside. Here is a list of things
that I couldn't get passed in this movies:

1. The team. Only one person had military training yet they
were all given automatic weapons?

2. The biologist doesn't wear gloves when swabbing
specimens? Who cares about contamination right?

3. Everyone they sent into the shimmer has died and never
made it back except one guy who is dying and coughing up
blood. They kept him in a quarantined area and wore
hazmat suits around him, but they go into the shimmer
unprotected?

4.This is a military/government operation, where's the
military? It would have made more sense to send a team of
scientist in with a team of trained military professionals. I
get the girl power in this, but you could have sent them in
with an all female unit.

5. You kill a giant, vicious mutated gator and decided the
best mode of transportation is to get in the water on tiny
row boats? People! We are talking about a gator that is on
steroids and has severe roid rage! This place is a swamp!

6.Their idea of standing on guard at night is to have one
person on the ground 200 ft away from everyone in a small
guard shack that has no walls where something can grab
you from all angles while everyone else was high up in a
lookout tower. There was a balcony on the tower that had
one set of stairs that went up it. That is where you put your
guard.

7.Who the hell packed their gear? No night vision goggles?
No secondary side arms? No masks in case of deadly
spores?

Now. I am not saying do not watch this movie. You can do
whatever you want. It's your choice. You might like it and
not be bothered by the things I listed. What I am saying is
that I cannot agree with those that are praising this as the
best sci-fi movie or that it's the most intelligent one. For
every intellectually stimulating subject that's touched in the
movie is quickly overshadowed by some boneheaded
decisions and actions.

Boko Haram and uniformity.
See as they sew the same brown hijab for all of them.
Just like the black ones they sew for Chibok girls.

They will continue to raid and keep on kidnapping different set of girls.
But where the hell do they accommodate a high number of people?

While you still holding this thought, please tell me how much a dish washer in Nigeria earn or a Mason, and the other grueling jobs in African countries earn compared to their wages in America.
My point is you pay competitive rates for a menial job and that wage can help one feed, get an accommodation and an education then you'd find people doing it gladly.

Once upon Ghanaians were shoe cobblers, hairdressers, water Vendors in Nigeria. Although that didn't stop Nigerian from doing those jobs.
It didn't stop Nigerians doing what?

Why did Nigeria started xenophobia and ask all Ghanaians to leave their country during Shagari era?

Ghana Must Go?
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Question An American Asked About Nigerians Stealing Their Jobs And Reply He Got by oyetpel(m): 12:35pm On Mar 04, 2018
The immigrants became hardworking because they want to pay bills, give some to their people back at home, boast to people back at home.

Why did they leave their country to come to American and wash plates? Can they wash plates in their home country?

Believe me when things are working well foe you, it would seem you are lazy. Americans are not lazy, they are privileged because of their country.

Ghanaians were once the most hardworking people in Nigeria, doing shoe makers and other peasant works. Yet the idiot Nigerians chase them away.

No matter who you are, if you are in your hometown or home country, nothing is chasing you.

But when you go to another country or another city, you will be chased, because
(1)You will want to make it, so that when you go back home, they will appreciate you more when they see hoe wealthy you are.
(2)In developed countries, you can't enjoy the same entreaties given to citizens, so you have to work your ass off.
