MicMond01: Good day to you all
I've been trying to book an F-1 appointment for a while now but I keep getting "There are currently no appointments available" as a response. My program begins August.
Please what can I do Lagos or Abuja? |

Prodigee: Honestly bro IMO there's nothing wrong in going for a second bachelor's degree as long as you can defend the rationale behind it. And what you said above is a good reason for your intentions. That's your story man! Thank you ooo exactly! |

chuksmanred: I'm going for a second bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering. My first bachelor's course is civil engineering but in a Polytechnic.
Please, I need help on what more to say to defend my intent on why I switched.
And also, in my I-20 it doesn't show second bachelor's, only bachelor's. How would I defend this?
My I-20 again doesn't show the name of my course of study. It only shows the faculty name which is Engineering technologies/technicians.
Please, help me on how to go about all these in my interview. Thank you all. Don’t let anyone discourage you here cos that’s what some people do. If you have a good reason why you are going for second degree and it makes sense to the VO, you will get your visa. There’s no direct path to visa interview as everybody story is different. Have seen people personally who got there visa even tho what they studied in undergrad doesn’t relate with what they are going for, what matters most is your career, that’s why they ask about your work experience on Ds-160. |

Spencatrading20: Pls i have booked and cancelled my interview date twice before booking finally for 26th April 2022. Now i want to contact an agent that helped my friend to get an early date in July 2021 but i have been warned that i have exceeded the number of cancellations and if i cancel the current appointment i will have to pay for another MRV FEE. pls is there a way out of this.? Do people really use agents to get dates?…. Guys be careful with agent people and information you send to anybody. You should have waited, closer dates will later come up, I don’t think they released dates from July 15 to anyone. You may give emergency request a try, even if you’ve been denied before luck can still find you. |

Guys if you request for Emergency in Lagos and no response, try and use the ‘Provide Feedback’ option on the cgi portal and select Interview Appointment as reason and add comment + you can attach your i-20 document. You can try this if it works |

mikael11: Good morning... I had already scheduled an appointment for November and requested for an emergency appointment in lagos and I haven't gotten any response. About 5 min ago I saw Lagos has a slot for July 6 and I didn't know if to cancel my previous date and reschedule. So I refreshed the page to be sure am seeing the right thing, the date disappeared and the site blocked me from viewing the page today till tomorrow.. Damn! This can be very painful…. Please next time book when you find a slot cos as it is now Lagos is not responding to emergency appointment I don’t know why |

yungchop: Guys.. Good morning. Any possibility of me doing a Msc with a third class degree? I will say it can be possible because schools in U.S used CGPA and not the class. I will advise you to evaluate your result and see what the third class fall, you can do a test evaluation on Wes website. I think if you have up to 2.5/4.0 cgpa you can do Msc. Goodluck |

Sexiestprince: Goodmorning people, please I was advised by a friend to change my Sponsor from Nigerian sponsor to relative resident in US.
Are they approving mostly US sponsors now??
And I don't have the US sponsor's Statement of account...
Please kindly advise me Someone also gave me same advice yesterday since I have a brother that stays in the U.S who is ready to sponsor me but I’m confused cos I used my Dad as sponsor for home tie sake. The person claimed they are approving U.S sponsored F1 students more but I don’t know how true or authentic is that |

urchman101: Urgent!!!! I really appreciate the effort of everyone who have contributed one way or the other to the progress of this forum. Please I need all the help I can get now. I had correctly filled my passport number on my DS-160 and MRV, then went ahead to apply for visa. But on my appointment document the last digit of my passport number changed from 5 to 1. Is there anything I can do about it or I have to pay a new MRV fee and file for another visa? Click update profile on your cgi Appointment portal dash board, I think you should be able to correct it. |

hardeorlah: Good Morning all,
I am trying to schedule a visa appointment for Fall 2021. The earliest date I am seeing is September 22 2021 and school resumes in August. Please advice on what I can do . Did anyone get an emergency date?
Thanks You can book that now as you need to have a regular appointment before you can request for emergency and when you are within 60days of your program start date you can request emergency, since your start date is in August then you should be able to request emergency by June (just count your start date back) |

Jegzyman: Hello, I greet everyone. My visa interview was rescheduled by the embassy from June 2 to June 10. Is that a good sign?
P.S; I have full funding as a graduate teaching assistant and will be going to the University of Minnesota. June 2 is on Wednesday while June 10 is on Thursday. most available dates I do see on F1 appointments are Tuesdays and Thursdays. Maybe that was the reason |

Hello please I want to know if this is an issue but I was denied a b1/b2 in 2019, then my brother who helped in filling the ds-160 made mistake on my previous education section. For instance I attended two different high schools but then he filled one (I went to school A for junior secondary and school B for senior secondary but he filled I graduated from school A instead of B). Now I wan to correct it by filling both high schools. Do you think this will cause a problem? |

MelaninGemstone: Another tip for intending interviewees!!!
If your masters course of study is far unrelated to your Bachelors degree!
Except you are going for an MBA
Straight denial!!
2 guys were denied yesterday by 2 different VO’s for that reason.
The question they would ask you is why the sudden change in career? And if you can’t defend yourself well, denial letter
Also, avoid filling things or saying things that would lead to unnecessary question you cannot defend. I could remember few days ago someone said since the first time you posted here, you have always talked about visa denial and the person asked if you needed help. You eventually got denied due to lack of preparation and you’re still preaching denial again? You need to stop this cos we all have different story to tell the VO |
