I don't mean to sound paranoid, and if I did, so be it. its just so annoying how experience (either personal or distant) and exposure have bedeviled the mentality of an average Nigerian girl and her disposition toward relationship.
with a few of my experiences I have identify some of their misinformed perception of how relationship works.
1) she thinks the guy should be everything for her while she can go ahead and be herself.
the average Nigerian girls have expectation of the prospective boyfriend, doing nothing on their part to to fit into the guys life.
in a discussion with a friend years back, she was telling me about how she wants a guy that is rich, handsome, intelligent, knows how to cook, very caring and good in bed, for a boyfriend. when she was done fantasying, I ask her "what are you bringing to the relationship?" and she went silent.
we had, had sex twice and I don't look forward to a next time cos she was the sexually passive type, who lie there and expect the guy to work her to climax. her cooking is not that good too.
2.) she thinks its OK,to be in one relationship while you explore other options.
many of these girls claim to be in one relationship when approached, yet they will ask that you stay friends with them. very soon, when she is convinced you are better than her present, she start making an open show of affection for you.
when I met Adesua, she said we should just be friends, that she was dating someone, very soon she started calling and complaining about her boyfriend. I knew where all these complaining was heading so I played along.
one day she came visiting and changed into my boxer and cooked for me, after eating we proceeded to sexing. the day she tried to indicate we were now dating, I reminded her of her boyfriend and she started complaining about him, sha, I told her that "a lady start complaining about her present when she has her eye on the next. and that am not about to begin the cycle for her all over again"

girls act so protective of themselves in relationships like the guys have nothing to loose. very often you hear them say "I can't cook for a guy am not married to" or "I can't wash or clean up for a boyfriend, he has to marry me first" well all these is acceptable, so long as you don't make such demand yourself.
these days the girls will make endless and stupid demands just as soon as you indicate interest in them. and if you demand from them of such little things as to visit your house, a kiss at the movies or a goodbye hug, then you suddenly have hideous intentions.
there was this course mate of mine back in school, who always come around to eat at my place. one day we had group assignment and our group agreed to meet at my place. when they arrived I decided to make indomie for them. two of the girls volunteered to do the cooking but Elohor did not even blink. one of the guys asked her to join the other girls and she said she cant cook for any man but her husband. so I said "all the food you have been eating from me nko? please if you can't cook for a guy don't eat his food too".
in summary, there are no rules that applies to all men collectively. for every individual providence place on our path we must first understand them and draw up the appropriate rules to best relate with them.
