kunlekunle: the list of ironsi newly appointed officers

Yakubu Chinwa Gowon, the most senior surviving northern officer, who was in the process of assuming command of the 2nd Battalion at Ikeja on January 14/15, a unit which proved critical to restoration of order in Lagos, was made Chief of Staff (Army).

Other early military appointments include:

Chief of Staff (NAF),Lt. Col.George Kurubo (East, non-Igbo)

Commanding Officer, 2 Bde, Lt. Col. H. Njoku (East, Igbo)

Commanding Officer, 2 Bn, Major H. Igboba (Midwest, Igbo)

Commanding Officer, Abeokuta Garrison, Major G. Okonweze (Midwest, Igbo)

Commanding Officer, 4 Bn, Major Nzefili (Midwest, Igbo)

Commanding Officer, Federal Guards, Major Ochei (Midwest, Igbo)

Commanding Officer, 1 Bn, Major D. Ogunewe (East, Igbo)

Commanding Officer, 1 Bde, Lt. ColW. Bassey (East, non-Igbo)

Commanding Officer, 3 Bn, Major Okoro (East, Igbo)

Commanding Officer, Depot, Major F. Akagha (East, Igbo)

Commanding Officer, 5 Bn,Major M. Shuwa (North)
You mad Dog, A failure like you. I have asked before how many military post exist in Nigerian Army? Since U are the journalist and secretary lets have the overall posts and appointment from Ironsi so we can compare everything.
So it was Ironsi's promotion and posting of Igbos that caused the civil war and no longer the Military Coup "termed Igbo Coup"
All your attempt has come to nothing. U'r secret hatred against the Igbo/East will crush U. There is no peace for the wicked.

Pull out more issues and facts to incite hatred against the Igbos. People like you have been crying since GEJ took over and changed the COAS.
We are aware that the evil people are up to something. But if you think your Juju is in charge of the country just come out. You need to be punished. Some of you old war criminals are still hiding thinking they have escaped. The evil that is after all such people want to bring them out for destruction.

Joey82: u seem not to understand what is brewing.
that article at op was not really meant for public consumption but for the advent of info tech, it got out.
these military guys live by the gun and they need not manipulate the public to feel right,
the question we should be asking ourselves is what backing does ihejirika have in the army to contain any kind of mutiny.
the military is still over populated with northern and western elements.
its not just abt promoting undeserved officers to more senior ranks.
its abt also recruiting well enof to have the backing.
in the end loyalty is what is more important and he seem to be loosing it
I'm aware of this. I know before now that most of the old military filled with Igbo hatred are still there with the military. If you have ever visited military barrack and you are an Igbo, you will notice that you will have to be extra careful on the way you greet this military personnel, especially the Hausas. Most of them still openly treat the Igbos as if the Nigeria civil war is still on. You see this amongst the less educated military officers, they are the same group that can easily be manipulated by the same write-up that generated this argument. The Hitlers/Evil ones amongst them are more educated and they are the type that write such article.
If you don't take them serious then you are not serious. This write-up may be a move to prepare the public mind against the Igbos.
I can assure them that they have failed already before starting. infact they should come out because God want to still punish all those Nigeria civil war criminals.

Joey82: u guyz supporting ihejirika do not seem to understand how the military operates.
the military is not a civil ministry so quit the comparisms.
there is nothing as important to a soldier as loyalty.
when high ranking officers, generals for that matter start questioning the authenticity of a leaders action, then there is problem.
and the report imho is not biased especially giving the reasons as stated by the report.
COAS can be biased in his promotions but he's got to apply diplomacy and he should also know that it will take time for igbo officers to catch up with their northern and western counterparts since the numbers of the later is by far higher in the rankings.
i just pray mutiny isnt brewing already
I think I understand what U mean, But U see, whoever start anything caos in this country will difintly regrete it. Becouse the country is now beyound any man's manipulation. the time has passed when some group of people will ill-inform and manipulate the public for his selfish reason! such fellow will difintly be consumed.

When did I become an Igbo hater? When I started a discussion thread on a topic already in the public domain?

If only you knew who you are addressing, you'd know how redundant your flights of fantasy (you call them prayers) are.
Who cares, you are what U said. I'm checking to see who I'm hating. I can't even say I hated anybody, but I hate evil people like you. How much pity did you have for the Igbos since they would not be appointed chief of staff for more than 40 year? Many Igbos were deprived of their post for many-many years yet you feel no pity for them. I don't like evil minded people like you, how did D Igbos wrong you that U are inciting the whole country against them?

Virgin Finder: Igbos can dominate/own the Nigerian armed forces for all I care.

My own is that they should never smell the presidency. They should never be allowed to even come close.

Greed and self-centredness is enshrined in the DNA of the average Igbo man.

An Igbo man would rather have 95% while others share 5%. All in the name of 'merit'.
The aboki may have 60% were he were to be in similar position.

Igbo kwenu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No! Igbos want to take all, they will take 100+%. Igbos will not accept 95%, You pretender. you have taken everything from the Igbos for more than 40 years yet U are not contented. see U hypocrite, you want to take 100% presidency away from the Igbos, yet U are not selfish and self centered.

The former has committed no cardinal sin that we know of despite your reductionism, while the later is as incompetent and corrupt as they come.

Then again, I suppose all is fair in the promotion of mediocrity!
Incorrigible and adamant fellow! U need deliverance. As I asked, tell us how many posts exists in Nigeria military nationwide so we can compare and contrast. U Igbo hater. Your Family and U'r children will be hated by all unless you repent!

Mr eGuerrilla, U must be dangerous and full of evil! how many posts exists in Nigeria Army?
and U carefully selected posts and promotions that favors Igbo officers just to confuse the public and manipulate people into hating the Igbos.
You can see I have always known that Nigeria is not a country but a manipulation. Please I call on God and UN to intervene in this manipulation called Nigeria. How can people that hate themselves be a country?
All the while, for more than 38 years Igbo’s have never called on the military to complain of any marginalization. Igbos have been denied many things from the Army since more than 38 years.
Mr EGuerrila, U are very insincere and wicked. For only just less than 3 years you have seen how Igbos are taken over the country just because something seems to be favoring the Igbos. U hates the Igbos and the good Lord will punish U for that.
I want to assure U that D Lord our righteous judge will surely visit U. All this while, U never complained or send this kind of mail for the Igbos.
For more than 38years and Igbo officer has never been given the post of Army Chief of Staff and U never complained for them or post such rubbish to complain for their sake.
The Lord will settle this country, U are reminding us the event of 1966. I always know that Nigerian Army is full of Igbo haters and they will claim to want the country to be together. U want Igbos to be part of this manipulative entity called Nigeria but U want them to be slaves. That was the plan of Nigerian military, we know them. But unfortunately their plan wasn’t working. God is very interested in this country, try any evil and see how you and your people will be consumed. If you like send your family and your father’s family to the bottomless pit, the good Lord will visit them there to reward them of your evil deeds.
PoliticsRe: Dr. Nwaezeigwe Defends Awolowo On Achebe’s Civil War Memoir by Ozichim(m): 1:59pm On Oct 25, 2012
ACM10: He made some very interesting contributions. But it will be unfair to review a book without reading it.
He has to understand that an average Onyeigbo do not consider Yorubas as enemies. Our grouse is with the conduct of Awolowo during and after the war.
The inference that Yoruba
had thrown a much stronger
loyal support to the
leadership of Nnamdi
Azikiwe than the Igbo ever
exhibited toward Chief
Obafemi Awolowo is a complete balderdash! It is true that NCNC were able to win some seats in the western region in 1952 election, but Yoruba support for Zik did not go beyond that. Remember that AG won some seats in the east too. Beyond Awo/Zik, Ndigbo have thrown their support behind Yorubas on countless occasions; Abiola, Obasanjo, etc. By the way, Awolowo and other Yoruba politicians often use an unflattering terms to describe Zik and Ndigbo. Read some of Awolowo's books or watch Akintola's video on youtube.

There are some rogue characters in Nigeria and Biafra during the civil war. So there is no doubt that some people engaged in activities which were inimical to the war effort. Singling out Biafrans is rather unfair.

On the other hand, Ironsi misread the mood of the northerners especially their elites. He did not envisage that situation will degenerate to 2nd coup de etat or pogrom. He kicked against all the advice from senior officers of the coup in the making. To demonstrate his detribalized nature, he surrounded himself with officers of northern origin.
When the mood of Nigerians were low, he embarked on "apology tour" trying to please the northerners who showed an outward contempt for his leadership. Releasing Awolowo who was a convicted felon during the regime of the deposed government headed by a northerner will be counterproductive to his "appease the north" effort. Ojukwu cannot release Awolowo either without an express permision from Ironsi.

There is no doubt that the true enemy of Ndigbo are Hausa/Fulani oligarchy. But they cannot do much if Yoruba withdraws their support for them.

The fact remains that Ndigbo and Yorubas are rivals; and Yorubas tends to exploit Hausa/Fulani-Igbo feuds to hurt us.

Yorubas made a feeble attempt to secede. But they could not do much since there was an intimidating presence of northern troops all over the western region.

I don't know Dr. Nwaezeigwe personally. Though he strikes me as an interesting character. But I'm disappointed with some of his assessment. Though some are logical from the revisionists point of view. I agree with him that Ndigbo and Yoruba should forge a common front which will be based on magnifying our common grounds and minimizing our point of differences. But he should consult his history books on where such mindless unity led us to in the past.
Thanks for that briefing. People should try to be straightforward. This is not politics. This efulefu is trying to assume on behalf of Awo and yorubas. If you cannot seceade, why forcing Nigerians to fight Biafra. Why must Biafrans stay with Yorubas and Hausas? Awo induced Nigerians to fight Biafrans.

You have forgotten the Okrikas in Rivers state. As I'm talking to you, run to any Okrika man's house in time of danger as an Igbo man and you will be protected.
my colleague( an Okrika man) told me that there is no Okrika man that has no Igbo relation in one way or the other.
I have personally discovered that amongst all other non Igbos of Southeastern Nigeria Okrika, people has more soft spot for the Igbos (infact they tend to defend the Igbos where they can) U may not notice this immediately. and even now they still marry Igbos freely followed by Akwa-Ibom, Cross-River (This is also a surprise to me. though I may be wrong in my rating.

I don't have problem believing my colleague when I noticed that they have Igbo ascent and look.
PoliticsRe: Ojukwu's Interview Just Before Biafra (VIDEO) by Ozichim(m): 10:48am On Oct 08, 2012
CyberG: This interview gives a glimpse of ojuku's thoughts before the civil war. Although he appears to be speaking with confidence, it is clear today that all that bravado was empty posturing, like most ibos still do today. This is not the most important thing to take away from this interview. It is noteworthy to state the following:

1. Ojuku said the ibos have for a LONG time been prepared for war, and that they are READY.
2. He also said that the Nigerians are going to be surprised about what they will get, meaning they will be completely BEATEN.
3. He also stated that the WAR will not last long.

So, I ask ibos who are still defending this man, what was his plan for the war, REALLY? Ojuku, like most ibos, underestimate most other Nigerians in their intelligence, smarts, grit, business acumen which is really not a preserve of a tribe! It is an individual thing for in a family, one son can be very driven while the other is not so driven. That is why it is wisdom not to generalize. Back to the issue, can people who claim to be biafra soldiers tell Nigerians how they were prepared and if NOT, was it all about propaganda, hoping people will buy any lies, or the violence that ojuku brought will not be reciprocated by courageous, strong, brilliant and patriotic Nigerian Forces and civilians? I like to hear honest and logical opinions.
Stop decieving your self. With your low IQ U think U can manipulate people. What is your point. What Ojukwu said has nothing to do with war crime.
Can't you see that you and your people are all cawards, even now you are still displaying coward.

Can you tell your enemy that U are not prepare for war?
Can you left fighting when you must fight becouse you are not prepared. you are a serios coward if you do that.
Stop displaying your cowardice here.
It is a pitty.

A brave man can even fight with stick when he has no option.

War crime is war crime and should be judged by IC.

The truth here is that Awo induced Nigeria into fighting the Biafans by saying that " If Biafra is allowed to go then West will go"
A man/tribe that cannot say their mind the way it effect them. I'm sorry for you people.

Two serios mistake Ojukwu made:
1, For trying to trust Awolowo ( For not discovering that He is dealing with a Coward)
2, For allowing Banjo into Biafran Army.

just know that Igbos are here to correct those mistakes, It cannot happen again.
IslamRe: Muslims Fight To Defend Their Prophet And Christians Dont? by Ozichim(m): 9:48am On Oct 04, 2012
ask4truth: Good day All.
I start by this in response to your post along side to those empty brain xtians that talk any how regarding ISLAM.

Firstly, an all muslims r mandated to forgive when they are touched in all aspects. When the religion of Islam is put to xtians humuliation we r not mandated to sit and watch like fools saying our creator will defend it. Y cant xtians sit back @ home and say the lord will bring them food?

Secondly, i wanna chip this into your memories you xtians pls follow it and understand me clearly before u start what u knw how 2 do best (talking anyhow) ''Holy Jihad of Christian Crusaders''. To a sincerere ignorant xtians, his/her defintiation of CRUSADE is SPIRITUAL REVIVALs but Nay! NO! The true meaning is (recovery by xtians of holy lands from muslims) longman English Dictionary.

Here are some jihad verses in the bible to support my claims

But for those enemies of mine who did not want me for their king, bring them here and SLAUTHER THEM IN MY PRESENCE: (LUKE19:27 NEB1967 Ed)

Q:Y did biblical jesus did not say God should fight for his selfhuhhuh?

Do not thing i come to bring peace to the world. No i did not come to bring peace but a SWORD. (mathew 10:34 GNB 89ed)
Q: where is the gospel of peace u xtians claim?

I came to set the earth on fire, and how i wish it were already kindle! (luke 12:49 GNB 89ed)

Warning!!!!
NO old testement or new testement.
Complaint pls.

While ''Biblical Jesus'' came to put fire on earth, Muhammad came as a mercy to all mankind (Q21:107)

While ''biblical Jesus'' order the killing of his rejecters, Muhammad called those dat challenge him to dialogue (Q3:64 and Q16:125)

Biblical Jesus is indeed not the REAL JESUS. For real jesus has same qualities with muhammad.

Can any xtian tell me that those biblical verses exist not in the bible?

When u goto Luke 22:35-38 u will c biblical preparation for Jihad. Indeed i did not bring other biblical verses that r more dangerous cos i want to c d response to this little piece.

Islam is the only religion of peace.
But u might be confuse with d current spade of unrising. This is due to some elements among xtians and jew that r misinterpreting islam and trying all their best to paint it black.

But i tell u they r wasting their time
Inspite of the fact that we muslim fight in the cause of Islam, Allah has already promise to protect his religion himself. At the same time given us mandate to try our best @ our own level to protect it too.

Finally i call all xtians here to Islam before is too late for you.

Thank you.
Why not be serius, When Jesus said he came to bring son against father, dauther against mother, etc He was just telling us all that after now that there will be pesecution and misunderstanding duo to peoples faith. He(Jesus) already knew that Satan will try to stop his disciples etc.

I won't like to dwell much in this direction, but we know that God is all knowing and and cannot be questioned as he created everything.
Now, based on this; God's instruction must be obeyed. Hence there is need to confirm and re-confirm the true God.

So my question to all muslems/Islam is; What has Mohamed done to prove that the true God is talking to Him or what has Alah/Mohamed done on earth to prove that he made everything and should be obeyed or trusted?
I need examples as they are recorded in the Koran. not the Bible. Also the evident that it realy happened.
As I said do not mention anything from the Bible.

rbjimoh:
Of course, you are right. Absolutely! How can Allah, the creator, be the same as His creation? Not possible! The fluck of Christians are in manifest error. How can you explain your followership of a Trinitian religion: one-in-three gods? If Jesus was sent to save the world, it follows, logically, that all men that do not accept him as their personal saviour would not be saved, right? If that is true, what then becomes of the thousands of prophets that came before Jesus, and their generations? What sense does the Christian ridiculous dogma that all newborn babies come into the world as sinners? That they inherited sins from their forebearers, Adam and Eve? God is far just than to punish the son for the sins of his parents.
Islam came to explain out the drowning pit of folly that the Christians and Jews have fallen. Sine qua none attribute of a Being that must be called God is that :He must not be conditioned by Time and Space. If God truely came into the world in form of man, who was then ruling the universe in His absence? Can't you guys see the apparent lies and misfortunes here? If the miraculous birth of Jesus is what confuses the Christians and so, for that reason, they call him, first, the son of God,and later, God, what then would they say of the miraculous creation of Adam and Eve? The Bible, of course, contains some uncompromised words of God, but what it is today isn't but conjecture of some fools. How many versions of Bible are there today in the world?
The Qur'an remains what it was when it was revealed to the unlettered Apostle and would continue to be so forever.Glory be to Allah! The Lord of the worlds, Who begot not and Himself not begotten. In the hierarchy of sins, Atheism is number one, polytheism two, and others follow. The first two are not forgiveable except with sincere repentance before death overtakes man. All other sins are forgiveable even without repentance, if Allah chooses. Christianity falls in the second category. The Christian proposition is an association of partnership with God, giving what His alone to His creation.
I know your god has limited power, but with Christian God all things are possible. Christian God fills everywhere, He(Christian God) is everywhere. When He came to earth in human form He did not leave heaven. He was completely God and He choose to put-on human flesh for some time for some special purpose ( for your sake). It doesn’t reduce his power as God.

Man was created in God's Image (therefore no man should shed another man's Blood) because man is created in God's Image and Man cannot make life.
Man is Three (spirit Soul and Body). This three is one man. Remove any of this you have removed the man. This three is one and the same.

God is three (God the Father, Spirit and Son). This three cannot be divided, it is a name representing the three ways God can appear or operate or be addressed. The three is one and the same. That is trinity.

But this is not the topic.

Since you used to read the Bible have you not seen what Christian God has done even at a time He(Christian God) said he will punish the Egyptian gods. Christian God has proved himself and don't need anybody to fight for him, Christian God has destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because of sin (He rained down fire and brimstone from heaven. I cannot finish telling how much Christian God has proved himself. The something Jesus Christ proved himself while on earth.

Please accept Jesus into your life.

Please tell me how far Mohammed and Allah has proved themselves for you to believe them? Please don’t quote from the Bible.

ola_pluto: My problem with you (and your kind of person) is that you cannot think independently. You're a one way thinker. You're not ready to learn or to think deep. You are very shallow and ignorant. Thats not the best way to follow a religion. Google the word 'Conjectures'-thats what most of your posts have been.
Can you make your point clear.
Even when Roman Catholic is fighting with Protestant, it is assumed to be Christians against Christians. Not Christians against another religion or unbeliever. Moreover they are fighting for who will secure more land or wealth and, as I said don't judge Christianity with anybodies life, use the Jesus life/Bible to check what Christianity is all about.

If we use Mohammed life to Judge/check Islam you know what we will arrest Mohamed for homicide and ethnic cleansing, Mohamed will be asked to defend himself in world curt for man slaughter etc, believe me, if it is now, Mohamed will be life imprisoned.
IslamRe: Muslims Fight To Defend Their Prophet And Christians Dont? by Ozichim(m): 2:28pm On Oct 03, 2012
There is nothing to ague in this topic, the whole world know that Christians are not violent. Use Jesus Christ life as an example to prove this. Jesus is the Christian yardstick. Christians are trying to follow the foot step of Jesus. infact Jesus asked his followers/lovers to carry their cross and follow him. Jesus asked his followers not to return evil for evil and if slapped to turn the other cheek for another slap. Jesus even asked his followers to love & pray for their enemy.

Christianity is a stumbling block to many, anyone that kicked this stone will have his leg broken and if this stone(Christianity) should fall on anybody it will grind the person to pieces.

The reason for all this is that, it will be so terrible for anybody that refused/failed to accept Jesus Christ in this life, hereafter.
IslamRe: Muslims Fight To Defend Their Prophet And Christians Dont? by Ozichim(m): 2:11pm On Oct 03, 2012
tintingz: oju eja lomo je tongue . . .every word of Jesus is parables in the bible even if he said he wants to sleep na parable? Lol. . .one reason why he order his disciples to sell their garments and buy swords?
You are completely wrong. Jesus did not mean metal sword for fighting in battle. Some disciple also thought Jesus was referring to metal/Iron sword but he told them to stop when one of the disciple said that he has one sword with him. Infact when one of the disciple cut off some bodies ear while trying to defend Christ, Jesus immediately rebuked him and warned the disciple not to fight for him, that if he want to fight he will send angels to do the fighting. Jesus then went on to heal the man whole ear was cut off. Also note that the man whole ear was cut off was one of those that came to arrest Christ.

Warning for all Muslims, Be not deceived, Christian God is not the same as Muslim god(Allah). They are completely different.

kosiobabiolorun: People needs to know the truth and the truth will set u free,
thank God they have translated the arabic koran to english.
If you compare it, u will know the more detailed among the truth. God is Love.
The New Testament was written 30 AD and Quaran was written 600AD.
Don't be violent, learn about other pples religion , go and download it online it is free.
I forbid you mentioning the prophets in the Bible when talking about Koran. Who mandated the Muslims or Mohamed to mention those prophets in his book (Quaran)? We Christians don't know Mohamed and we never call him prophet. But we expected many false prophets/ Anti Christ to come up one way or the other to disprove or counter what Christ has thought. Don't worry; It is not only Mohammed, more false Prophets will still come. Muslim is just about +-500 years while others are about +-200 etc.

Christian holy book (Bible) never mentioned Mohamed, so why should Mohamed come and target Christian doctrine? If Christians has been violent; Muslim religion won't have lasted more than one month.
I accuse Mohammed of piracy and forgery and he should be arrested for pirating the Bible.
PoliticsRe: MASSOB On Hoisting Biafran Flag: Police Can't Stop Us by Ozichim(m): 2:42pm On Aug 31, 2012
It is not the duty of police to stop MASSOB. Nigerian Government can take them to court if they think what they are doing is unlawful.

MASSOB is the only peaceful movement. They don't carry any weapon like other tribal militant group,
MASSOB is asking for self actualization (Which is legally accepted worldwide), Only war criminals can try to stop this.

MASSOS have not been accused of any fighting with the police/military etc even though they are been killed almost wherever they are seen.

MASSOB is not militant
MASSOB is not stopping Government activities.
MASSOB is not killing civilians,
MASSOB is not killing the police or the military.

MASSOB is not even disturbing anybody, they are simply asking for self actualization.

The only rightful way to settle such issue in a civilized country is through the law.

Asking for self actualization peacefully is never a crime and whoever says is a crime let his generation/Children Children remain permanent slave in every generation.
Police are expected to combat crime and not to unlawfully kill, intimidate and silence people from saying their mind.

Nigerians should start crying if PHC are realy happy that Prof Nnaji is going. This PHC staff are not the kind of people that can give Nigeria steady power 24/7.

gbadexy: Apparently you lack good comprehension skill.
I would just keep on repeating myself if I respond to you.
Even what you typed is ridiculous. Why would zik ever think he could rule the yorubas? So if yorubas don't want an ibo man to rule them, that becomes betrayal? Please share with me the secret ojukwu shared with aluko.
So you now justify killing banjo as betrayal, you people are masters of hypocrisy and reverse psychology. You don't see any wrong in your phuck ups but start crying foul when paid back.
You don't need to take my post personal. Each to his own.
Let me interject, please the issue of banjo is very clear. Banjo was court marshaled together with other Igbo soldiers. Banjo was not killed alone.
Believe me, Allowing Banjo to fight alongside other Igbo soldiers was one of the greatest mistake Ojukwu made at the early time of the Nigeria civil war. I may not blame Ojukwu too much because many Igbos were still trying to trust the Yorubas then. Banjo was trusted but he unfortunately turned to be the beginning of the downfall of the Biafra revolution. Banjo shouldn’t have been allowed to go to the war front, but the Igbos, this Igbos they always try to trust other people and to also prove their trust to people.
If you don’t know what happened then, U can ask.
How can somebody tune back to kill somebody that come to fight for him, it is not done anywhere.

Frankly speaking, If not that I'm a Christian I won't forgive those Yoruba’s. This people dealt with me when I was just starting life. They made me believe they hate the Igbos without any body telling me.
I'm sorry, ---- I don't want the Yoruba/Igbo cat/dog fight to continue. I want to encourage the Igbos to please drop every hatred they have on Yoruba’s,
But resolving something at the facial level won’t help issues at all. When U nip a thing at the bud you get it killed. I think why this has continued is that Yoruba’s has never admitted wronging the Igbos at any time and this is annoying. They don’t want to at least accept that disappointment is wrong. When the young generation defends this it means they are ready to do it again and again.
And this is why it is difficult for Igbo man to trust them, Infact it started well before the civil war.
As for how my Yoruba friends wronged me in the office I have forgiven them and I won’t tell the story here.
The whole thing was caused by British demonic government, Igbos and Yoruba’s could have made very strong allies if they had continued as two different African nations.

1025: they are all liars and deceits. if a minister goes against the code of conducts, he shld be tried and punished for betrayal of the state's trust. what is resignation when they will give him other contracts and govt appointments tomorrow?
i am not moved by these fake information.
I know Nigerians have been having/ following the ethics code of conducts, that is why we are in this situation. You don't even know what U want so how will you recognise it, If I give U. Code of conduct of manipulation, If I'm a VC I should't employ mathematics expert teacher becouse he is my brother? We don't have a country. Go and sit down

The seller has told people arround that he is also buying. IE he will also pay for the goods before taking it. If he pay the right amount and deliver the proper service, why will you kill Ur self for D right thing. there is nothing wrong in this. so long there is no hiden agenda. If due process is followed.

chucky234: EXPOSED! Why Power Minister,
Barth Nnaji, was forced to resign
.
Contrary to the impression created by
the presidency that the Minister of
Power, Barth Nnaji, resigned from office on his own volition, highly placed sources familiar with the matter have told PREMIUM TIMES that Mr. Nnaji was actually forced to resign Tuesday following a gale of allegations linking him with attempts to subvert the bidding process for the sale of Afam Power plant.
Aso Rock spokesperson, Reuben Abati, had released a statement this evening saying President Goodluck Jonathan had accepted the power minister’s resignation and wished him well in his future endeavours.
But presidency sources have told us
the minister was compelled by Mr.
Jonathan to resign after allegations of
conflict of interest in the privatisation of the power plant was confirmed .
Reports earlier this week had linked Mr. Nnaji with direct interests in one of the firms shortlisted to bid for the 776 megawatts (MW) capacity Afam power plant, already slated for privatisation by the Federal Government.
The plant, consisting about 18 gas
turbines, is considered the most viable of the power plants slated for
privatization by the Federal
government, particularly with the
recent approval of about N500 million
for its rehabilitation.
Apart from his interest in acquiring the plant, Mr Nnaji reportedly used his
privileged position to influence the
emergence of one of the firms in pole
position to be selected winner, an effort that reportedly earned him a
gratification of a brand new Prado jeep and cash reward in excess of
N89million. Mr. Nnaji could not be
reached Tuesday night to respond to
these allegations.
The National Union of Electricity
Employees (NUEE) has, since the
commencement of the process of
privatising the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) subsidiary firms, engaged the minister in a running battle, accusing him of pursuing a hidden selfish agenda.
NUEE General Secretary, Joe Ajaero,
had, on behalf of the PHCN workers
that have already been served sack
letters, queried the decision to give
them only 25 per cent of their
entitlement for Pension and Gratuity,
pointing out that the arrangement
confirmed their fears that Mr. Nnaji’s
reform was aimed at strangulating
workers.
Prior to his appointment, Mr Nnaji was
the chairman, Geometrics Power, one of the 18 private companies that were
granted operational licenses by the
Federal Government to undertake the
generation of electricity to compliment the effort to boost the country’s available supply capacity.
It was gathered that the decision to ask Mr. Nnaji to turn in his resignation
letter may have followed the
confirmation by the Presidency of some of the allegations levelled against him.
President Goodluck Jonathan was said
to have decision to ask his minister to
resign his appointment rather than
sack him, to save his administration
the monumental embarrassment such
an action could have generated.
Presidential spokesperson, Reuben
Abati, could not be reached for
comments as he did not answer calls to his mobile telephones.

As for me if my boss is doing a good job and our company is doing well under his him. I don't see anything wrong if his company bid for any advertised contracts if that his company can truly deliver.

If not for man's/Nigeria factor I don't see anything wrong in such action.
Even if Bat. Nnaji was forced to resign there is no corruption in his action. The problem is that we don't have a country.
I personally prefer to have light 24/7 even if one man in charge of it all, so long he is doing the right job at the right time. Than to have the kind of PHCN workers we have now.
Sincerely speaking the PHC staffs and management we have now cannot give us the type of light we need. There must be privatization. Bath Company should be allowed to bid for this if we know that the company can deliver.
I'm desperate to have light 24/7.
Nigerian should find another way of sorting out the winner of the bids to avoid name calling, corruption etc instead of the man resigning.

Nigerians forgets so soon, they don't even know what they need. Politicians keep manipulating them. If not because of this same Nigeria factor/Nigeria politicians such thing shouldn’t make Nigerians risk the good job this Prof. is doing, NB, we have had so many power ministers before. If PHC privatization fail and steady power supply fail to take effect then, !!!!!!!!!! in-fact I will change my nationality
