Our currency has been so devalued now that a dollar is now 1400/1500 naira. So even if the gold didn't appreciate in value , the naira exchange rate wahala alone is enough to make the gold I talked about to be in the range of 2Million naira now.so if the worth of those ornaments she is holding was say 2.5M naira then before the Boko haram issue started, the exchange rate alone can make it appreciate to 20/25M naira. But what she could use 2m naira of 2014/2015 to achieve then (say a new small fine house 🏡) will still be likely what she would use the current worth of the gold to procure now.

We must remember that Mohammed Yusuf who the police killed extra judicially, was in handcuffs when he was killed in Borno. The police claimed he was exchanging fire with them. How did someone the Nigerian army arrested, cuffed and handed over to the police, manage to get a gun? His hands were cuffed behind his back! Yusuf was silenced to protect the sponsors of Boko Haram.

In vengeance, Boko Haram started targeting uniform personnel exclusively. In one week alone, they killed over 11 policemen. They have grown more deadly since then.

Below is the picture of Yusuf when the Nigerian army arrested him. Notice that his hands were behind his back. He was handcuffed. Less than 5 hours later, the Nigerian police killed him.

That singular act by the police is why terrorists and Boko haram have spread massively since.
